Code Vein II could be described as a more accessible Elden Ring, and that wouldn't be entirely wrong. But it would be a shame to stop at the obvious similarities and simplifications, because the game behind it is undoubtedly a great game. It's a little didactic in some choices, a little fan service in others, but it's also capable of frequently resonating with the player on the other side of the screen.

Under the disguise of a traditional point and click adventure, The Red Strings Club shows us once again the ability of Decostructeam to use videogames to explore the human soul. The story is a pretty standard cyberpunk tale, but the "alcohol system" during conversations at the bar is amazing, and the moral choices are intriguing and demanding.

Milestone has done it. The Milan-based team decided to take a risk, stepping out of their comfort zone of motorcycle simulations to return to their roots with a *Screamer* reboot—a title that establishes itself as one of the most distinctive, entertaining, and engaging racing games on the market. The driving system—though occasionally a tad clunky—is a sheer delight of speed, technique, and drifting; the narrative compels you to tackle every race at full throttle; and the characters form a cast it is impossible not to grow fond of. It lacks only that extra aesthetic flair to truly stand out amidst the endless array of cyberpunk worlds released in recent years; yet, the technical solidity—combined with the meticulous aesthetic polish applied to the UI, the cars (some of which are truly stunning), and the characters—still manages to make Milestone’s work shine, even in this regard. *Screamer* is the racing game that both the market and the players have been waiting for.

Batora: Lost Haven is both a hack n' slash and a twin stick shooter, depending on the enemies we have to face, and very often it is both genres mixed together. The main component of the game is the fighting system forcing you to frantically switch combat modes, but there is also an exciting story to follow, with charismatic partners and some moral choices that affect both plot development and character growth. A great isometric action RPG, with awesome boss battles and multiple endings to increase its longevity.

Astral Ascent offers the usual roguelite gameplay where you have to die a ton of times to get a decent build and progress a little bit, and the system of spells and power-ups at the beginning is a bit foggy. After the first couple of hours without any particular excitement though, the game explodes and shows us its full potential, especially when you manage to unlock the four heroes. At that point, it becomes one of the best video games in this genre, despite the fact that not much attention has been given to the platformer component. F1 2020 is the perfect title for those who want to enter the world of Formula 1. Graphics and sounds are ok, there are many game modes and, thanks to the different settings available, the driving system can be adapted to the needs of a wide range of virtual pilots.

Pragmata is a solid game. It introduces the hacking mechanic, seamlessly integrating it into tactical and, in most cases, dynamic combat. Exploring the levels presents us with extremely well-crafted environments with remarkable visual impact. The narrative, while a little too overtly sentimental, makes its mark thanks to a few twists that pleasantly carry us through to the final moments. In short, what's there works well, just don't expect an absolute masterpiece: it lacks a spark, something that will make Pragmata stand out even years from now. It may seem a bit too much, but we always expect excellence from Capcom.

EA has been keeping us on a shoestring for too long now, so it's a good thing that someone fills this huge gap that has been plaguing our lives for years now. Tempest Rising takes all the elements that work in Command & Conquer and offers them to us on the 2025 hardware, without trying to invent anything special. The result is a complete success, and it wasn't a given, because doing simple things is always more complicated than it seems, as demonstrated by the latest spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino that I prepared.

Legion is what every World of Warcraft player have been waiting for a long, long time. The new Demon Hunter is a well-received addition, the gameplay is still the same as twelve years ago but at the same time is different, and better than ever. With its epic scope, this is probably the best expansion ever released for WoW.

R-Type Final 2 is an aesthetically brilliant ‘reboot’ of the classic arcade game by Irem Corporation. Old players will feel at home, either when approaching the game with the strategies of the past, or when they try to change habits by exploring the new possibilities offered by the game.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a good collection, but more because of the games it contains than because of Nintendo's effort in making it. The absence of extras and of Super Mario Galaxy 2 are an unpleasant disappointment.

Considered as a simple DLC, The Following is a big, fat expansion. As a whole (i.e., including the Enhanced Edition of the original Dying Light), the game becomes simply humongous. And the buggy is a nice new feature that makes the gameplay even richer.

Behind an amazing art direction and great dialogue lies the moving story of an ordinary man, lost in a forest and in his life. It's a survival game in the most profound way, the survival from the fires that burn inside our soul.

Pikmin 1+2 is a pleasant return to the past in 2023 necessary to further extend the lore around one of the most curious and interesting Nintendo franchises of recent years. Strong and powerful from a playful point of view, it is also satisfying from a technical point of view. Must have absolutely.

Guilty Gear Strive is arguably the best 2D competitive fighting game available, but the content at launch is likely to be divisive. Online gamers will love the highly acclaimed Rollback, while solo players might find the singleplayer offer to be inadequate.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is, overall, a great VR zombie survival game. Its strengths are not constant in all aspects, even from a technical point of view, but the good challenge and the articulated structure make it a must for fans of the genre.

Wandering Sword is a journey into an ancient China to be explored from top to bottom, meeting wonderful characters and engaging in pitched battles in which tactics, party members and character build are crucial. Progression is quite fast-paced and debunks the cliché that would have Eastern games to be based on grinding. The main campaign is fairly linear, but there are enough side quests that provide variety to the adventure, meticulously narrated with plenty of text. The HD-2D graphics are particularly well-chosen in this genre of games and are another selling point.

A fitting "Yakuza" that takes the old Kazuma Kyriu and launches him into a new life - how long and happy we are not yet allowed to know. On the gameplay side Like a Dragon Gaiden relies on well-established mechanics that still work well, adding a couple of new tricks that seem to wink at what we will see in Infinite Wealth.
