Some of them you may already know, others are completely new. Nonetheless, it is something that horror game fans should reach for, even if they have already played the previous Layers of Fear games.

It refers in a sympathetic way to the original game (old-school settings, preview of the classic look in the inset window). It is a pleasant reminder and memory, but with less convincing gameplay.

Song in the Smoke is an excellent example of how games can effectively evoke strong emotions with just a few words. Cinematic effects and similar elements are not necessary. All that is required is a good idea and a compelling narrative, which is precisely what this game delivers. However, the gameplay itself is the game's downfall. While not inherently terrible, it may not be as enjoyable over time. Despite this, it will undoubtedly find its fans.

Nintendo is serving double pack of excellent adventure titles from the past. And it is also a great showcase how to remake two solid games to great adventure with updated graphics, new interface, dialogues and even high-quality puzzle and exploration.

Misc. A Tiny Tale is a charming, short 3D platformer clearly inspired by Chibi-Robo—to the point where it often feels like a fan-made tribute or low-budget clone. That said, it’s a wholesome experience with a good heart, cheerful atmosphere, and likable robotic characters. Unfortunately, the game never truly excels—its platforming feels imprecise, combat is dull, and the visuals reflect its limited budget. It’s cute, but hard to shake the feeling you’re playing a "Chibi-Robo from Wish."

The game is designed for both Star Wars fans and non-fans, offering standalone stories that also feature connections to the Star Wars universe. The gameplay involves completing various missions, such as infiltrating a First Order base, or rescuing C-3PO and R2-D2. The enhanced edition includes new content and a higher price tag of €50. The game itself is surprisingly fun, but it is a shame that there are still so many bugs almost 3 years after its original launch.

You can spend tens of hours in cold space, but you have to be in the mood and have the time. The game is currently brought to its knees by shallowness and game elements that are not perfected.

It surely has its cringy dialogue moments, but with a good pair of headphones, this game will make you scream like a baby, swear at every jumpscare and most of all you’ll utterly hate instant cameras.

Far Eastern farming game still has a lot going for it, and it's perhaps surprising that it bravely left Early Access and opened up to the world without much fanfare. The gameplay is fun, but the monotony and lack of variety only serve to highlight the imperfect strategic elements.

The developers from Rebellion have proven that they are not afraid of new challenges, they have crossed the imaginary line and moved their creation into new spheres. Atomfall is a demonstration of precise work, although with certain reserves. The Thing: Remastered brings back to life the unjustly forgotten survival horror game that, while never achieving the cult status of its cinematic predecessor, still offers an interesting gameplay experience with mechanics that still feel fresh and new today. Unfortunately, the game also suffers from some of the original's shortcomings, such as very weak AI and a drop in pacing and atmosphere towards the end.

The interactive treatment of Stanisław Lem's literary work brings exactly what we expected. It also holds up as a game, it's a walking simulator with an excellent story and an impressive atmosphere.

The war strategy from the world of terminators and machines that want to take over the world surpasses even the movies in some ways. On the other hand, it has ailments that spoil it all. Mainly The frustrating difficulty of the campaign will not please you.

Being sequel to a critically acclaimed title is always a hardcore task. Salt and Sacrifice didn’t exceed the expectations, nor did it fail. It captures the essence of soulslike genre with hand drawn graphics exceptionally well but suffers due to a whole bunch of required backtracking and some questionable developer decisions.

Nintendo Switch Sports keeps the spirit of Wii Sports alive, but there are some compromises in its design that hold back its potential. But still, multiplayer is fun as ever.

Despite its minor flaws, qomp2 is a really addictive game that you'll find hard to put down. Even its difficulty won't put you off, and you'll happily endure the few hundred deaths and restarts from the last checkpoint. Yes, it will frustrate you at times, but rarely will you feel that it's being unfair to you.

NHL 25 plays better than the last few games in the series, but it doesn't bring any real changes, improvements or new features. In the end, it's just an overpriced update.

Overall, The Lake House is a nice expansion, it doesn't offer much of a story of its own, but it's rich with connections and hints of where Control 2 will go. Ultimately, getting players ready for Control 2 is also the goal of the expansion. Don't expect much else from it.

The undead Roman legion in Avalon knows how to fight well. Although there are not many heroes and the management between missions is more modest, the legionnaires will prove themselves in a several-hours long campaign.

Lego 2K Drive is not necessarily a bad game. It's just so unengaging that it starts to feel somewhat pointless. There's nothing you haven't seen before and done better in other games. The driving itself can be fun, but it's overshadowed by the dull and repetitive content.

If you saw Avatar 3 at the cinema, the new game expansion will let you explore the events and a new tribe from a different perspective. While the expansion offers a solid story, the level design is weaker and the missions are repetitive.

The (old) new adventure of Sherlock Holmes was a success. The tentacle madness grabs you by the throat and the first big case of the duo Sherlock and John is on the way to a successful series. The Lovecraftian plot makes the detective much more special and greenlights more cases. The Awakened is more than a successful case of Sherlock Holmes.

Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story is for game historians and enthusiasts, not casual gamers. And even fans may be a little annoyed by the fact that it only covers a small part of Jeff Minter's vast and prolific career, not even the whole first 20 years. So while you can check out many of Jeff Minter's important games, you won't be able to play the best ones, which came in later years. And that's a shame.

Cris Tales wanted to be a tribute to old school PlayStation JRPGs, but it fails to deliver interesting story and gameplay. It's not bad at all, but it's not very good either.

Retro FPS builds on nostalgia and pure action, but could have offered more variability. Still, it's not a bad choice.

Dread Templar offers over twenty-five levels, but somewhat monotonous level design. However, hordes of enemies, adrenaline-pumping action, a systematic way of upgrading and a high-quality soundtrack will make you fight through hell to the successful end.

Overall, the new F1 24 game is a weaker addition to the series, it doesn't add much news this year, it doesn't even have a story mode, and the authors have changed the physics model. It is such a double-edged sword - on the one hand, it can please casual players, but disappoint more experienced simulation players.

If you're a fan of Souls-like games, Blades of Fire is a must-play. It introduces unique mechanics that may not suit everyone, making it a very specific experience. It's not as accessible as God of War, but also not as punishing as traditional Souls titles—landing somewhere in between. While it may not look like it at first glance, this is very much an RPG at heart, not just a hack-and-slash.

Big thanks to the authors for choosing WW1 which is unique in this genre. The campaign is a bit clunky, but the combat is unique and contains unusual elements and mechanics that you don't normally see in other RTS.

Surprisingly good 4v1 game, which has a bit long matches and an unnecessarily large map, but in terms of gameplay it is good. It has depth, an impressive atmosphere and additional single player content.

Overall, Until Dawn remaster is a nice atmospheric slasher horror, well complemented by plenty of choices that can motivate you to play the game again. Although it is a walking simulator genre, it stands out in comparison to most similar titles with its cast and more cinematic style.

One of the most interesting games of this year is free. You will enjoy it mainly in solo mode supplemented with online components. It will open up the rich world of Chinese martial arts for you.

It is a game that remains true to the essence of Star Trek. Fans will enjoy it, even though it doesn't offer a revolutionary story. It's satisfying that it's no longer just an adventure focused on clicking dialogue options, but the gameplay is broader and more diverse. You will develop an attachment to the characters, and their fates will be in your hands. The same applies to your enemies, so it's up to you how you embody the principles of the Federation. It has a certain degree of replayability, although technical issues bring it down.

The new racing game is visually pleasing and conceptually interesting, but with untuned gameplay. The idea of & 8203;& 8203;combining an arcade look with more serious simulation elements is nice, but the result feels unfinished.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is a game created by fans for fans. The team, consisting of modders and enthusiasts, aimed to bring Lara's original adventures into the modern world. However, the gameplay of these '90s gems has not aged well, and our impressions of them have been largely influenced by nostalgia. While the modern controls and graphical upgrades suggest that this is a contemporary game for a modern audience, it's more likely that the games will be primarily enjoyed by those nostalgic for the original titles.

Once in a while, each of us just needs to take a flamethrower and destroy a horde of mummies. And this is something that PowerSlave Exhumed still does almost as good as it did 26 years ago.

The crazy goat simulation, which was more of an April Fool's joke, caught on very well and the second part, or the third, is already here. It offers unfettered fun, but also bugs.

Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition – Part One is a VR game that has been very decently reworked into a traditional format. The first half of the story is great, with good fights and decent interaction with terminals and surrounding objects, as well as electrical puzzles. However, the lack of new areas and frequent backtracking makes it less enjoyable.

Despite the dry environment, a refreshing experience, especially in the first hours. When you immerse yourself in the game and start burning through the story line, you can enjoy it and absorb a good plot and actions of the characters.

Trek to Yomi is a trip to historic Japan in the style of Kurosawa movies. The unique monochrome look will immerse you in the game, and the fights are dynamic and realistic. You will reach the ending really quickly, but the game will leave a good impression. In Game Pass, this is a clear choice that you should not miss.

Have you ever wondered, what would’ve happened, if you gave a multiverse unlocking tool to an infantile sponge? Well, even though SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake doesn’t really reinvent the basic formula of its predecessor, it at least aims to answer that very question! This vibrantly colourful collection of teleportation-requiring adventures of the inseparable duo surely brings back a ton of memories. Get ready, because SpongeBob, Patrick, and the Bikini Bottom gang are back with a multiuniversal bang and a whole bunch of wishing bubbles.

The Chant not only fills a current hole in the horror action-adventure genre, but also manages to bring an original take on the genre thanks to the story and themes it opens up. The authors do not want to confirm or refute the effects of esotericism, but point out that in certain cases it is a double-edged sword.

Kate Walker has undergone a rejuvenation treatment and returns to the beginning of her journey. She is as charming as ever, and the story is still engaging and entertaining.

The sequel to the highly challenging adrenaline-pumping third-dimensional platformer will bring you dramatic moments and (again) many deaths. The camera angles that aren't always suitable will make things even more difficult.

The remake, subtitled Twinsen's Quest, only reminds us that time has passed, and it has. The gameplay isn't exactly a pain, but it's a bit of a clumsy adventure. But it retains the charm of the original.

Ubisoft has brought the first, more realistic and dramatic DLC to the story of Nao and Yasuke in Claws of Awaji. You get a new small island with a short side story, a few nice missions and a new weapon. It's just a very basic content offer for the expansion and the whole thing sounds so much poorer in terms of story.

Successful remake full of action, humor and crazy situations. The only thing we can criticize is too much similarity with the first game, but that was already the problem of the original from the past. However, we can still talk about one of the most unique action games in many years, and the eye-catching alien can still teach a lesson to the younger human heroes who were born after him.

A thrilling excursion into a world outside our reality has a slightly bitter flavor of boredom setting in too soon.

ParadiZe doesn't take itself too seriously and takes the zombie theme lightly. It's one of those games that offers a mix of genres and if you don't accept them as a whole, you simply won't fully appreciate the game. Either take it all together and have fun, or leave it alone.

If the main adventure with your favorite action archaeologist wasn't enough for you, spend a few more hours with him and uncover one more unsolved mystery. It's a pleasant time spent, but the DLC doesn't bring anything that we didn't already see in the original game.

The game world and story, originally designed for an older audience, remain too complex for young minds yet too shallow for adults. A “soulslite” title from the creators of Ashen doesn’t really innovate on the action-adventure RPG genre but presents players with unique and captivating setting, neat combat mechanics, epic soundtrack and quite a lot of beautiful landscapes to explore. Will you dare to challenge the gods?

The action is fun. That's what you'll enjoy most. You'll love the new dynamic lighting, the cheats add a little something extra, the game runs like clockwork on every platform, and there're even motion controls on the Switch. But multiplayer is lacking, the textures are ugly, and the sound is downright bad.

The endless circle of gameplay with other companions has closed, but it has not brought any more. The collection lacks a strong campaign, a good dose of the story or motivation.

It's a shame that a game as high quality and unique as Harold Halibut is plagued by technical problems and bugs that can make the gameplay really unpleasant at times. Highly accomplished tactical strategy game with a Viking theme, excelling in its atmosphere, dialogue, and cinematic cutscenes. The balance between settlement management and combat missions works convincingly well. The experience is held back primarily by technical issues, though these may be resolved over time.

Although Reveil relies primarily on story and atmosphere, which it does well, it also offers a good puzzle-solving and level-exploring experience. It's just a shame that the monsters are not very interesting.

On paper, Shadow Labyrinth is a Metroidvania game that doesn't do anything wrong, but the result is just an average game. It doesn't excel in any area: the gameplay is mediocre and the graphics are uninspiring.

Scorn is a unique and high-quality video game horror that doesn't try to jump-scare you in the first place, but builds an exciting atmosphere that you'll love to dive into again and again.

After Fights in Tight Spaces, here is the sequel to the tactical card game, but in a fantasy setting with improvements, where it's also a pleasure to deal blows.
