Indiana Jones will encounter a new face in Father Ricci, a young, cryptic priest who is seeking help in tracking down a mysterious artifact. But what starts out as a standard treasure hunt quickly becomes treacherous as Indy travels deep below the streets of Rome, exploring ancient crypts, visiting new locations like the ruins of the Colosseum, and coming face to face with an enemy that lurks in the shadows.

Players can expect to solve a number of intricate puzzles while traversing Rome’s ancient sewer system, the Cloaca Maxima, and beyond. And in true Indiana Jones fashion, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for danger as members of a frightening cult sneak around in the shadows and attempt to stop Indy through any means. There may even be a few familiar faces making a return too!

Indiana Jones and The Order of Giants doesn’t quite rise to the incredible heights of the original game’s story, but what’s here is more of what I wanted. More incredible locations, puzzles and maze-like tombs, dripping with atmosphere and history. What more could a budding archaeologist ask for?

Great DLC with largely the same quality as last years’ best game, featuring great attention to detail and some stunning environments. Its only major flaw is that Machine Games somehow had to fit it into the Great Circle.

If the main adventure with your favorite action archaeologist wasn't enough for you, spend a few more hours with him and uncover one more unsolved mystery. It's a pleasant time spent, but the DLC doesn't bring anything that we didn't already see in the original game.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants can be whipped through in a single afternoon, but during that short run it takes you through a beautiful array of new locations to explore and presents several puzzles that are even better than those in The Great Circle itself. It probably would’ve been better value as a more replayable, separate mode rather than stitched into the main story but, in an environment where some of my favourite single-player games are being bastardised into games-as-a-service hellscapes, I can’t say I’m against anything that extends my time with a lavishly crafted solo adventure like 2024’s Indiana Jones, even if it’s only by another four or five hours.

The Order of Giants adds a pinch to the base game’s story without significantly changing its meaning. You’ll explore new corners of Rome, though most of the time you’ll be wandering underground and through interiors. The fact that it can be finished in under four hours and doesn’t really offer anything new is its main drawback. Still, the fresh puzzles and well-made story animations help make up for the short playtime.

Atmospheric story expansion set in Rome, which only tells a short subplot and offers little new apart from a few puzzles.

The Order of the Giants is a painfully missed opportunity. A DLC that is undoubtedly well put together, consistent with the style and tone of Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle — at times even daring, with a darker, more unsettling atmosphere — but one that suffers from a very short lifespan and a chronic lack of truly memorable moments. The new puzzles are enjoyable and well designed, the new areas are excellently crafted (though many are unfortunately underground and thus feel rather closed-in), and there’s even a solid final battle, but it’s all over in just a few hours. And MachineGames is asking €20 for it. Perhaps a bit too much for so little. Hopefully, a second DLC will come along that can elevate and build upon this first attempt.
