Building bridges isn't exactly the first thing that comes to mind when you're thinking about Portal, yet here we are and what do you know? It's actually a lot of fun. It's tough to justify the frequent framerate drops though.

There's really not much to complain about here. The AI isn't perfect, but other than that, Age of Empires IV is a return to the old glory of the franchise, with deep and challenging gameplay that will keep you playing for a really long time.

Well, there's definitely some progress. The game is more beautiful than its predecessor, online play has been improved and it's finally possible to create your own deck. It's not all silver and gold, though. There's a lot of screentearing and for reasons unknown it's impossible to trade cards with your friends. If you're no grouch, however, you should be able to look over this and enjoy this game.

Subtle improvements and a batch of new features keep Blazblue on track, though its graphics are in dire need of an upgrade.

The sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is here and Respawn Entertainment does it again. Delivering an excellent Star Wars game that feels grander than its predecessor. This is in the locations you visit, but also the greater variety of gameplay and all that goes with it. Technically, however, it is not optimal yet with the necessary pop-in and the somewhat shaky frame rate in performance mode. Apart from that, the game is simply highly recommended.

A more-than-decent sequel that aptly addresses the criticism the first game received. We could've done without the framedrops, however.

Ace Combat 7 is a return to form for the franchise. The main campaign is varied and provides a lot of entertainment even if the story is a little stale. Visually this game will blow you away and if you also own a VR headset you’re in for an absolute treat. Multiplayer is a bit boring and the archaic checkpoint mechanism feels like it’s a decade old but overall, Ace combat 7 hits it right out of the park. Highly recommended.

Destiny: The Taken King is what Destiny should have been when it was launched a year ago. 'Nough said.

Technically, this isn't a marvel, though as a closing chapter to this wonderful series, it delivers where it counts.

Surviving the journey from PC to console by means of some truly ingenious controls, Divinity: Original Sin impresses on almost every level. Genre fans shouldn't hesitate.

The classic beat 'em up title is back, this time as a complete package. The oldschool gameplay still works wonders. Newcomers will definitely want to give it a try, while the addition of extra characters will undoubtedly draw old fans back into the fold.

If you've played the previous episodes, buying this one should be a no-brainer. If you haven't, then what are you waiting for? This series is more than worth every dollar you spend on it.

A wonderful fighting game that is very challenging and, in return, very satisfying when the fighting system is understood. Sifu brings together several interesting elements and that works out well. All this wrapped up in a nice artistic style with matching audio makes it a delight. But it does if you look past the poor voice-acting and the generic story. Not really points to worry about if you go purely by the excellent gameplay.

Hitman is back and we couldn't be happier. The lack of a competitive mutiplayer is regrettable because of the high gameplay potential, but overall this is a great continuation of 2006's Blood Money with improvements all over the board. Welcome back, Agent 47. We sure as hell missed you.

A must play has appeared with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2. This game offers an exciting and engaging campaign, with Operations being a valuable cooperative addition. Then you also have an excellent multiplayer, with everything wrapped up with a nice audiovisual jacket. One drawback is that the performance is not yet optimal and there is some lag online, but when that is fixed there is no reason to pass up this game.

If not for some graphical and framerate issues, Batman: Return to Arkham would be one of the best remasters out there.

Wonderfully old-school, brutally intense and surprisingly interesting as far as the story goes... Wolfenstein aficionados and shooter fans in general will definitely enjoy this.

Fall of Cybertron surpasses its predecessor in almost every way and is therefore the best Transformers game on the market. It's got its fair share of problems though: disappointingly bad textures, online connection problems and some annoying glitches and freezes somewhat spoil the fun.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership resurrects a long-dead franchise from the grave, and we’re so glad Nintendo decided to give this series another chance. It’s a great game, although our biggest gripe can be summed up as ‘…but it takes a while to get really good’. The story starts off a bit shaky, but gets a lot better after a certain point. The islands are very unique and the level design is great, but the early islands are a bit small and limited compared to the later locations. The combat is also incredibly addictive, although you’ll have to wait a while before you unlock the most fun and in-depth features. Don’t let that spoil your fun, though, because Mario & Luigi: Brothership is definitely worth the time, for both newcomers and old fans. One tip: make sure you’re ready to fire your cannon in time when you sail past an island, because having to wait for your ‘Sail Island’ to sail an extra lap before you can fire again is quite annoying.

Well, this reissue is a definite improvement when compared to its original version. The definite edition of DmC looks better, adds a welcome lock-on function and kicks up the frame rate to 60 frames per second, which takes this action game to a whole other level. Some rough textures and annoying platform sections keep it from reaching the absolute top, though.

An interesting story with well-developed characters and expert enemy design, that - however - does take a while to really get going. On top of that, not every sidequest is worth your attention. Don't let that stop you, though. Scarlet Nexus is a great game.

Mario Kart is back with a brand new installment that basically offers more of the same, supplemented with all sorts of new elements. The Knockout Tour is wonderfully chaotic, the large roster of characters and karts is fantastic, the multiplayer is top notch entertainment, and there is a large world that you can freely traverse to explore. Too bad that that world is so big that it's a bit barren in terms of activities, and it's also a missed opportunity that you can't free-roam in multiplayer in a normal way, but other than that Mario Kart World is a fantastic game that we can recommend to every Switch 2 owner.

Kratos hits it out of the park once more, only this time he shows that greatness may rest in the palm of your hands.

Evil Dead: The Game is a tribute to the franchise that is very good in many ways. It is visually stunning, the audio is excellent, the gameplay is addictive and the whole thing is worked out to perfection. However, the balance could be better and despite the size of the game, the two maps feel a little sparse. Furthermore, the game has some minor flaws, but nothing big to worry about. Recommended.

The return of this classic title offers you another chance to catch up if you haven't tried it before. It's even more accessible this time, thanks to the option to play with the gamepad. Nintendo has also made some quality of life improvements, which make this the ultimate edition of the game. Some annoyances still exist though, chief amongst them a slow start and imperfect controls.

Ion Fury is a wonderful, lightning fast and damn challenging shooter, with expert level design. Not everything works perfectly - an overpowered shotgun and clumsy auto-aim are the game's main annoyances - but don't let that stop you from trying this.

A cooperative multiplayer game in the Elden Ring universe, something new for FromSoftware and it's panning out well. The game has a high addiction factor due to its interesting gameplay loop, the bosses are fantastic and the interplay with different characters makes for an engaging gameplay dynamic. Take note, however, that the frame rate is not stable and if you are a solo player, the game feels different given its focus on co-op. Nevertheless, Elden Ring: Nightreign feels like a fresh new breath of fresh air in a familiar universe that we can recommend to any player of the original.

A higher framerate and still engaging gameplay make this collection an absolute joy to play, even if some graphical errors and the absence of the first Borderlands drag it down somewhat.

This adventure is an absolute joy to experience. It tells an emotional story, looks great and plays well, managing to feel simultaneously fresh and classic. Kena: Bridge of Spirits never reinvents the wheel, but it doesn’t need to. Definitely worth your time and money.

Its steep learning curve prevents Elite Dangerous from being accessible to casual players, but if you're willing to invest time into the game, you'll find your patience well rewarded.

Lovingly remade and adapted to our day and age, this classic title is a must-buy for every PS5-owner. It still feels a bit dated, at times... but don’t let that spoil your fun.

The third episode makes up for the dull second with eventful additions to each of the four major stories. Though some truly exciting things happen to every main character, it's the promise of spectacular things to come that keeps the series upright.

Forget simulation, Project CARS 3 goes in a different direction and provides a more arcadelike experience. While this will definitely be a letdown to longtime fans of the franchise, in and of itself the game nevertheless manages to be great at what it tries to do.

Lone Survivor might just be the purest survival horror game of this generation, leaving the player to desperately fend for himself, without offering him any clear information whatsoever on what's going on. One-man developer Jasper Byrne manages to use what are essentially GameBoy Color graphics to his advantage, suggesting horrors rather than flatout confronting the player with them, and expertly using creepy sound design to strengthen the experience. The map mechanics suck and it's a shame the game doesn't last very long, but horror fans can't go wrong with Lone Survivor.

Two great and atmospheric games for a more-than-reasonable price? Not a bad deal. Not bad at all.

Let's face it, if you're not into stories, you shouldn't buy Beyond: Two Souls. After all, player input is kept to a bare minimum and even then it manages to take you out of the experience, as it needlessly slows down the action. However, those who love a good and well-told story can't go wrong with Beyond: Two Souls. Both Ellen Page's and Willem Dafoe's acting is highly convincing and the visuals are appropriately jaw-dropping. Co-op is also a feature very much worth exploring, as it succeeds in turning this "interactive movie" into an effective two-player experience.

God of War Ascension doesn't top God of War III, but that doesn't mean it's not a good game. It is; with a great single-player adventure and an interesting multiplayer mode with a lot of potential. It takes some getting used to, but if you manage to do that, you'll enjoy yourself for many hours to come.

A brilliant closing chapter to the second season of The Walking Dead, defined by absolutely devastating emotional choices and interesting plot twists. Let's hope the third season isn't too far away.

There's an intolerable amount of framedrops on the Vita and the thin line between challenge and frustration is crossed more than once, but these are minor flaws when compared to what Spelunky gets right. This addictive platform game has finally found its way to the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita, and that is definitely a cause for celebration.

Everyone says PlayStation All-Stars does nothing but cheaply rip off Super Smash Brothers, but there's more to it than that. A lot more, in fact. This is in every way a solid fighter, with a large and well-balanced (though not yet as good as it could have been) cast, many colourful stages and deep, rewarding gameplay elements. Above all it's fun - if not at times a little chaotic.

It's not spectacularly innovating and the graphics are in dire need of improvement, but other than that NBK 2K14 manages to tweak its gameplay enough to justify the new installment in the franchise. We could do without the clumsy menus and stupid dialogue, though.

It still isn't that original, it still isn't that deep and some bugs and glitches kept spoiling the fun. Still, Darksiders II is a massive adventure with an epic story and gigantic, interesting worlds to explore. An improvement on the first one and overall a game nobody should pass on.

A story-based puzzle game which excels mainly in the latter. Puzzles quickly become challenging and that makes for a fun experience due in large part to great audiovisuals. The image sometimes stutters while turning the puzzle but apart from this minor issue this game is plenty of fun.

Developer Vicarious Visions doesn't change the winning team, but adds a rather interesting swap mechanic to the already interesting gameplay elements from its predecessors. The challenge is at times perhaps a bit too steep, but other than that this is once again a fine entry in the Skylanders franchise.

Housemarque once more delivers an excellent game, with simple yet addictive twin-stick action for the ages. The ability to play co-op puts the icing on an already delicious cake.

The intriguing story with the solid gameplay manages to make Soul Hackers 2 an engaging game. In terms of content, the game is also richly supplied and thanks to the presentation, the atmosphere drips from it. A fine title, were it not for the fact that loading times are a bit long and there are some minor graphical imperfections. However, it is absolutely not a problem for the overall experience, so give this game a chance.

This game offers a refreshing adventure within the Ubisoft repertoire and although it lends several elements of other titles, in this setting and combination it feels good and in a certain sense innovative. The gameplay offers plenty of variety, graphically it is beautiful and there is plenty to experience. Only the DualSense implementation is more annoying than useful and Fenyx tends to continuously climb up everywhere, which can be a bit frustrating. But these are no points to ignore the game, the adventure is more than worth it.

Forza Motorsport is a delightful racing game. The extensive career mode provides plenty of racing fun, online it all works fine and the amount of cars makes it a Valhalla for car enthusiasts. Add to that the fact that audiovisually it is really enjoyable. Does that make the game perfect? Not quite unfortunately, the AI is not optimal and still needs some work, and also the career mode can use some more variety. Nevertheless, this is an excellent sim racer on the Xbox that has a lot to offer.

You'll have to fight the frustration that naturally comes with learning curves as steep as Sundered's, but if you manage to stick with the game, you'll find a lot to love here.

This first episode introduces us to two new characters and a brand new story which feels like a breath of fresh air. It grabs you by the throat and you'll keep playing until you see the end of it which promises good things for episodes to come. DontNod nails the way they portray human behavior in its characters, the bond between brothers and an otherwise riveting narrative.

A great ending to the impressive World of Assassination trilogy, Hitman III offers impressive level design, lots of options and a VR-mode that's very much worth playing. There are some small technical issues, but they're nowhere near prominent enough to hamper your enjoyment.

With all the new additions and expansions this year's version is one of the best in the entire series. It's even more than you've come to expect. This could very well become the ultimate ice hockey franchise next year if EA improves the dull commentary and ups the ante in the graphics department.

If you loved the old Crash Bandicoot titles, you'll have a blast with this one. Detailed, challenging levels; recognisable, yet innovative gameplay... this game has it all. The annoying camera may lead to some frustration at times, but don't let that stop you from diving headfirst into Crash' new adventures. It's about time? Damn right!

Strong, deep gameplay and impressive visuals turn Desperados III into quite the experience that is worth to play. There are some annoyances though, the game's tendency to corrupt savefiles chief among them.

The return of DuckTales has succeeded. This remake features slick graphics and old-school gameplay, making for a great PlayStation Network title.

Sam Fisher returns to the PlayStation 3 and we are inclined to celebrate his comeback. The story and its characters are interesting, the missions are varied, and the amount of playing styles available to the player is truly satisfying. The multiplayer is an added bonus. Visually, however, the game isn't that strong, with a couple of technical flaws spoiling the fun. None of them are gamebreaking though, so you should just get over it and buy the game if you're interested.

Deep characters, nice pacing and irresistible humour make this episode an improvement over the previous one. The next one cannot come fast enough.

This updated 4K version of the 2013 release is great fun. The handcrafted graphics will blow your mind and the game does a great job of fusing together different genres. Online or local 4-player multiplayer is an absolute treat and hat's off to Vanillaware for enabling cross generational cross play features. The story is a bit stale and the online component is only made available after a couple of hours of single player campaign, which is a weird decision. This game is highly recommended provided you don't have either the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita version.

Unfortunately, the game's most important addition is also its greatest weakness: the first couple of hours in the Batmobile are exhilarating, but the constant emphasis on this clunky vehicle keeps Arkham Knight from reaching its predecessors' heights. Nevertheless, this is one hell of a Batman simuator that's very worth experiencing.

This arcade racer is filled to the brim with content. The singleplayer experience is extremely varied thanks to a large amount of available tracks and the multiplayer modes offers endless fun for all. To top it off, the game sells at a fair price means you really should give this title a shot. The only issue we encountered occasionally is a technical glitch which sometimes cause your vehicle to behave oddly from time to time. Luckily these occurrences are few and far between. Highly recommended.

Utterly fantastic level design and with a continuous flow of incoming events, you'll not get bored any time soon. Ubisoft puts the Trials franchise back on the map with a great game which has a lot going for it. A nice addition is the option to build your own tracks, although it will prove daunting at first. The game can feel a bit grindy as well from time to time but we really can't think of any other issues with this game. A fun game that comes highly recommended.

Pentiment is a unique game because of its historical style, which excels. The well-written dialogues manage to continuously captivate, although at times this can make the game very slow. Nevertheless, a title that is absolutely worth playing, as it is a work of art to watch and fun to experience.

What Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio touches turns into success, because even a spin-off that is absurd on paper manages to be excellent again. The combat is fantastic, there is plenty to explore and the story manages to captivate, thanks in part to good humor. You really are a pirate and that is incredibly fun. In short, praise for this new game, but if we have to be critical: graphically it could be better and there are still some minor bugs in the combat, but do not let that stop you.

F1 25 makes several new steps forward. For example, you can drive tracks backwards and the application of LIDAR to scanning certain tracks makes for an even better experience. Graphically, the game also takes a step forward and Braking Point is back. In short, plenty of reason to recommend the game, although there are certainly areas for improvement.

We all know the game, we all know its rules... but in VR, Tetris still manages to surprise. Kudos to the dynamic use of colours, which really lifts this game to a whole new level.

Overall, Assassin's Creed: Origins properly reinvents the franchise, offering a new and improved fighting and movement system, as well as an enormous open world to discover. Technically, it's not perfect, but this hardly hampers the experience.

For the first time, the Metro franchise arrives at the PS3. It's a cruel and often terrifying experience, with an intriguing story, atmospheric visuals and great gameplay. The AI is questionable at times and there's some bugs to deal with, but other than that, Metro: Last Light is a strong shooter.

The combat, gameplay structure and presentation appears very recognizable as it is in line with other games in the genre. The lack of variety in environments is a shame in this regard, but in return you get a strong visual style, engaging different fighting styles, exciting boss fights, strong audio and much more. Recommended.

A tribute to PlayStation’s long and colourful history, Astro’s Playroom is the ideal way to become familiar with Sony’s brand-new console and all of its features. Mediocre graphics notwithstanding, it also feels like a fully-fledged game worthy of a price tag.

The stories in this game are well written and they will keep you going because the character development is equally well done. Knowledge of the Steins;Gate universe is a must however if you want to fully understand what is going on here. If you've been a fan of Steins;Gate, you are in for a treat though.

The remake brings several good quality of life improvements, new content, a newly recorded soundtrack and more. The visual style chosen also fits perfectly, making the experience feel timeless. So for fans and newcomers alike, this game is excellent to get in on, although it is a bit curious that a 4K at 60fps option is missing. Also, the encounter rate is just a bit too high, which can be a bit annoying.

A well-developed game and a nice continuation of the XCOM franchise. There are some problems though: the graphics aren't what they could (and should) be and the game gets repetitive rather fast.

An entertaining title that excels in coop. The main characters have loads of personality which makes for an entertaining adventure, rounded off by a fantastic score. Some puzzles are repeated far too often however and you can get stuck in the environments which is a bit sloppy. Nevertheless, Pode is well worth your time.

Disney Illusion Island is a pleasant surprise. The platform gameplay makes for a persistently engaging adventure, which is partly due to the game's fun characters and their abilities. The presentation is also very strong, where you can expect a lot of variety. It just could have been a bit more challenging now and then, but don't let that stop you from giving the game a chance.

The return of a PSP classic we could not have wished for better. The graphics upgrade is very pleasant and the performance is excellent. In addition, the combat system is more than fluid and the New Game+ option is a welcome addition. Add to that a compelling story and characters and you have a must have up your sleeve. That the development regarding the latter is sometimes not deep enough is a bit of a shame, as are the here and there outdated animations, but that is fine to take for granted in this excellent remaster that is more than a graphical polish.

Any fan of Marvel can get Midnight Suns without a doubt. Its many references to the MCU, well-written characters and in-depth gameplay mechanics make it a pleasure to play. The game is also packed with content, so you won't get bored easily. It is unfortunate, however, that it is not very strong graphically, but that should not be a reason to pass up the game. Recommended.

It's more of the same. That means more of the white-knuckle-gameplay that made Resident Evil 2 such a tense and often scary experience. It's a bit less scary than its predecessor though, due to a regular emphasis on spectacle and a quick succession of levels that hardly ever leaves the payer time to let things soak in. Still great, just not quite the level of outstanding we got last year around.

The story lacks depth, but the connection between the player and his Titan is worth the journey. The multiplayer, however, is almost worth the price tag on its own.

Company of Heroes 3 is bursting at the seams with content. It is a total package with something for everyone. Rarely do you get so much for so little.

A walking simulator that's very much worth playing, Valley sports wonderful environments, intuitive gameplay and a brilliant soundtrack. To top it all of, this game's story is memorable almost to a fault.

The PS3 version received a well-deserved high score and the same goes for the Vita edition. The game plays great, the characters are well-balanced and there's an awesome amount of content. The loading times are rather long and there's a few minor hick-ups here and there, but overall PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale remains a must-buy, even on Vita.
