    Marvel's Midnight Suns is, without question, my Game of the Year and has quickly become one of my favorite games of all time.

    If not for a rather significant bug that dragged back my progress, Marvel’s Midnight Suns would have been an absolute joy from start to finish. A nice twist on the RPG format that lets you get up close and personal (platonically) with some of the biggest names in the Marvel universe.

    Marvel's Midnight Suns can be considered one of the best hero-based strategy games. It has that MCU twist we all know and feels more like a Marvel's Ultimate Alliance spin-off at the same time. The combat system is very intuitive but something is missing. 100% recommended to fans of this genre and comics.

    Midnight Suns is a revelation in tactics gameplay, ditching movement constraints in service of its superhero cast. Its story is well told and voiced, and in between combat there’s a wonderful hub to explore. Structured like a daily tasks Persona-type experience, it won me over with oodles of character and design smarts throughout, keeping me coming back day after day.

    Firaxis is finally coming out of their comfort zone. I know - it's also a turn-based strategy game, what they are known for in the last few decades - but with added systems like the card games, some RPG elements and the friendship system, are adding more spice to the already perfected formula.

    While there's a lot to love about its RPG elements and card-based gameplay, Marvel's Midnight Suns ultimately frustrates too much to be considered a true genre great. Its compelling supernatural premise and gameplay are undermined by MCU-style snark and a disappointing lack of polish, making it land with the impact of a low-charge Iron Man repulsor blast and not a well-timed hit to the face from one of Ghost Rider's patented Hellfire chains. Firaxis Games' title may be fun to play, but its story serves as a disappointing reminder of how Marvel's identity has been homogenized by a decade of formulaic silver screen dominance.

    Fantastic. Enjoying even more than XCOM. Haven't been hooked on a game as much as this one in a long time. Love the pacing.

There is a lot to explore outside of the main story missions. I didn't expect building friendship levels and exploring the Abbey to be entertaining. Every day, there is something for The Hunter to do. They can either continue the main story or build friendships to help the team become stronger. The one thing that I do wish at times to mission exploring. I think walking to a small destination doing a mission would've made this game even better. Highly recommend this game.… Expand

From the in game version of Facebook where you constantly see stupid posts from superheroes, to an absurd amount of childish dialogue that you actually have to interact with to level up your abilities, and finally social clubs where you are hang out with groups of super heroes for more worthless dialogue - none of this interests me. If this is your kind of thing, you’ll probably like this game. If you were looking for something more like X-com, this is not it. The combat is a dumbed down draw cards / play cards system. There’s no cover, and there’s hardly any movement or reason to move. Enemies typically reinforce the battle infinitely until you achieve an objective. Combat is not fun for me. If it was I might put up with skipping through the other half of the game - the after mission social stuff. But as it stands, I’m not finishing this.… Expand
