Playing this shooter solo is considerably less fun than playing coop. That being said, the action is entertaining enough and the commentary fits the mayhem perfectly. The game also has longevity thanks to some extra modes which make for a complete and fun title. Lack of couch coop is incomprehensible though and there are some puzzles which are far too easy and some battles which are too long-winded.

NBA 2K19 is still king of the hill thanks to phenomenal animations, tremendous gameplay and a slew of game modes that will last you for a long time. This game that serves as a spin-off of the Bayonetta series dishes out a fun story dressed up with a charming and colorful visual style. In terms of gameplay, there is plenty to explore, were it not for the fact that the game is on the easy side and therefore not really challenging. Also, the camera can be annoying at times and so no and then it looks a bit blurry. Points to consider, but for the rest a solid title.

The French Revolution gets a twist in Steelrising thanks to the addition of the Automatons and an alternative take on history. The game manages to present an at times engaging story and the main character is very cool. In terms of gameplay, there is plenty to enjoy, but this is somewhat disrupted by some flaws, which can be annoying. As are other minor bugs, such as dropped sound. Points that stand out, but are made up for by the otherwise fine combat and variety of enemies and environments.

Ad Infinitum is characterized by its strong atmosphere and engaging story, which keeps you playing. The few puzzles in the game round out the gaming experience in a positive way, even if it is not entirely technically sound. For example, there are several bugs that can be somewhat a bit annoying at times, and the frame rate is not stable either. Nevertheless, the overall experience of Ad Infinitum nis quite special, making it worthwhile for fans of psychological horror.

Porting the game to the PlayStation 4 after a successful PC Kickstarter project pays off relatively well. Although the controls aren't really suited to the DualShock controller the story managed to captivate us. The game is challenging and the voice-acting is solid. Combat can sometimes be a drawn-out borefest and the game suffers from repetitiveness somewhat but generally you won't mind since it still manages to entertain.

The Crew: Motorfest is exactly what you expect if you have played the previous parts. A large, open environment to race around in is never boring. The game is rich with vehicles and various activities, good for dozens of hours of fun. It is notable, however, that the side activities exceed the number of races in volume, which is a somewhat odd balance. Also, the ghosts of other (AI) racers are confusing and the menu is chaotic, but that does not take anything away from the fact that there is a lot of fun to be had in this game.

This remake of the eponymous original title does unique things by presenting you with different stories that keep you enthralled. Audiovisually, it's also a great experience to have, but it does make the RPG gameplay feel a bit out of place, since everything is laid out for you from A to Z. This also makes the replayability low, while the overall experience actually leaves you wanting more. Nevertheless, a solid remake of a particularly unique game.

Mortal Kombat 1 is, at its core, a fine fighting game thanks to its smooth gameplay and solid performance. Moreover, the Kameo fighters really add something, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it still feels like a small step down from Mortal Kombat 11. This is partly due to the Invasion mode being less interesting than the Krypt, the voice acting is mediocre and the roster is somewhat limited. Certainly not a bad game, but certainly not the best Mortal Kombat ever either.

Pacific Drive brings something new to the survival genre and does a fine job of it in itself. It is atmospheric, at times stressful and the many ways to upgrade provide a reason to keep playing. As do the story missions. But with these positives, there are also some negatives to note. For example, the duration of each run is very unpredictable which can be inconvenient for your planning and you have to go through the same areas every time you want to achieve something new.
