Remedy is venturing into a cooperative game in a familiar universe with FBC: Firebreak, which is an interesting new step. The gameplay mechanics are unique, the gameplay has potential and the areas you get into feel solid. Basically, then, a fine game, were it not for the fact that the content feels a bit sparse and the combat is somewhat mediocre. The game could use updates and more content here and there, however, giving it the potential to grow into something great.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is an entertaining and creative interactive tutorial that gives you all the ins and outs about the platform. Educational on the one hand, entertaining on the other thanks to the mini-games you can play. The explanations are clear and the presence of tech demos is also very interesting. That said, it really should have just been free, because it remains an interactive tutorial and it's annoying that you can't finish it 100% if you miss certain accessories. Other than that a fun title to get to know the platform better with it.

BLEACH does a fine job of translating into an engaging fighting game, where staying true to the source material is a very strong point. Add engaging mechanics, strong audio and a cool presentation, and you have a package that is well worth a look for fans. However, you do have to take into account an unbalanced roster and the hit detection, which is not always accurate. At bottom, a solid game, but with room for improvement.

South of Midnight offers you a modern, fun fairy tale characterized by strong audio and fine combat. In that context, a nice adventure, were it not for the fact that the game falls a bit short in level design and predictable arenas, making it a repetition of moves in the long run. Fortunately, the visual presentation makes up for it, but in the end it is a solid game, with the necessary caveats.

Although the setting and approach are very interesting, which is accompanied by a good variety of missions, the game ultimately disappoints. It is a bit outdated graphically, the game has quite a few bugs, and most of all it lacks a good technical finish, making the game feel very rough.

As befits a good game in this franchise, WWE 2K25 is packed with modes, wrestlers, atmosphere, innovations and more. In that respect, it is a fine addition to the franchise, but there is some room for improvement. For example, the voice-acting could be better, the gameplay is somewhat shallow and the micro-transactions remain somewhat annoying.

Although Eternal Strands brings interesting lore, features engaging boss fights, offers fun gameplay and has a nice soundtrack, the game also suffers from several shortcomings. For example, the combat is somewhat clunky, the physics are inconsistent and the game lacks a bit in variety over time. A decent game, but it could've been better in many regards.

If you know the franchise well, then you know exactly what to expect. With that, Sniper Elite: Resistance is very familiar in everything, but at the same time that is also a downside: it offers virtually no innovation. Even in terms of content - apart from the locations and missions - it is mostly more of the same. The fine level design makes up for a lot in that regard, and the game is fine in its own right, but some innovation or progress wouldn't hurt.

After an earlier release on other platforms, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is now available on the PlayStation 5 and in the best possible execution. The result is an entertaining title that feels especially good thanks to its gameplay and variety of missions. The downside is that the story does not really offer depth and the gameplay unfortunately just does not manage to be engaging for long play sessions. Nevertheless, this does make the game a suitable title for nice in-between play in shorter sessions.

The successor to Fairy Tail mainly continues the line of the original with fun gameplay and cool boss fights. The interactions between the characters are also very entertaining, but on the other hand, it does not really excel anywhere. The game has technical sloppiness, lacks variety in environments and not all enemies are equally engaging. If you are a fan of Fairy Tail, the game is worth playing, although it could have been better in many ways.

Although Stalker 2 presents us with an excellent atmosphere in a world where there is a lot to do and explore, technically the game is a mess. The title suffers from many bugs and glitches, looks graphically outdated and the AI is not too good. Despite its long development time, the game is a diamond in the rough, which will get better over time, but it is a shame that the game did not release in better condition. Underneath the criticisms, however, is an exciting game that is nevertheless worth playing.

While the concept of the game is certainly interesting, the title unfortunately falls short in many areas. The combat feels too clumsy, the AI is not very smart and exploring the world is constantly discouraged, which breaks the immersion. In addition, the performance is inconsistent. That aside, the game does excel in its stealth components and level design. The voice work is also fine, but to say that makes the game a must play. Not really.

The game is clearly aimed at younger gamers, so it certainly offers fun for them thanks to its accessibility. It also does not lack the familiar humor and the presentation is fine. At the same time, the game also has several drawbacks. There is little variety in missions, there are not many unlocks and the overall content is somewhat sparse. In itself a nice game, but it could have had more potential.

Guerrilla Games together with Studio Gobo is venturing into a LEGO game based on Horizon: Zero Dawn. The result is a game that mostly feels very lighthearted thanks to the LEGO humor. The voice-acting is also excellent and so is the combat in the game. At the same time, that is also the problem, as the focus is so much on the combat that everything else feels rather boring, which in turn is due to the lack of exploration options and very limited platforming. At its core, not necessarily a bad game, but it could've been so much more, because it has potential.

Where the first two chapters are strong, the game does not manage to keep that up in the subsequent chapters. The story is stalled, scenes do not make sense and a certain character does not come across as believable at all due to over acting. Still a shame, because this makes the return of Max Caulfield as the protagonist a bit of a disappointment. Despite these drawbacks, it otherwise plays away nicely, so fans of the franchise can definitely consider the game.

While the story is strong, the suspense is there well and the visual revamp does the game justice, the main question remains: was this remake really necessary? The awkward controls and technical shortcomings here and there also don't make it a very strong execution and otherwise there is little new under the sun. In terms of gameplay, there is little wrong with it, but if you have played or own the original, this release is a completely unnecessary buy.

This re-release of Disney Epic Mickey is a fine reunion that excels for its creative world, atmosphere and visual presentation, were it not for a game breaking bug toward the end. In addition, the lack of voice-acting is a bit uncomfortable in the experience and it's odd that you can't revisit levels afterwards because of the many secrets to discover. Some points of criticism, and while those can be looked past, the game breaking bug is a problem which has a considerable effect on the score.

With some slower gameplay, EA Sports FC 25 plays very well, giving the right feeling. In addition, new additions are very good, such as Rush, FC IQ, the use of Cranium and various gameplay tweaks. Does that make it the ultimate soccer game? Yes in the sense of for lack of better/competition, no when it comes to the bugs and glitches, as well as the lack of innovation in the game. It's mostly more of the same with no real big steps forward in gameplay, with the tweaks not necessarily all doing what they are supposed to.

Funko Fusion creatively plays with various classic films and licenses, presenting fine music and humor in the process, which makes sure that part is in order. At the same time, many things are out of order. For example, the frame rate is unstable, the game has annoying bugs, it is often unclear what the objective is, and more. While the concept is good, the technical execution is very disappointing.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom follows a different approach than you are used to from the series. Instead of an action/adventure game, you play a puzzle adventure. This generally works out well. The gameplay is fun, with a fairly large world in which there is a lot to do. The puzzles are interesting and sometimes quite challenging in the dungeons. What does not work so well is choosing the Echoes. At a certain point you get so many that choosing takes a lot of time, which interrupts the action for too long. The optional rifts also become a bit monotonous quite quickly. The biggest thorn in the side is the performance, with a frequently changing frame rate and resolution, which makes the game not play well. That affects the experience. If the technical side is or is being addressed, you can add a whole point to the final score.

Playing Quidditch was not possible in Hogwarts Legacy, but we now have a solution for that with Quidditch Champions. An entertaining game in which the roles of Quidditch are well translated to the gameplay, which is especially fun in multiplayer. Definitely worth it for fans, but at the same time we must note that it is somewhat limited in terms of content and it also does not impress too much visually. A fine game, but nowhere really outstanding.

The universe that Star Wars Outlaws presents you with is really optimal enjoyment and the addition of syndicates does the gameplay justice. The audio is fantastic and the story and characters are very interesting. But where the game performs really well in those areas, it is mostly more of the same. There are many opportunities for original and unique gameplay possibilities, but instead the game plays very much on safe. Also, interaction with Nix is very limited, and on top of that, the whole upgrade system feels rather uninspiring and even somewhat limiting.

This game presents you with an adventure that is quite entertaining, but it lacks a bit of tension and urgency, which is pretty crazy in a murder case. In addition, it is often too unclear what to do, making it trial and error which takes you out of the immersion. This is due to an illogical structure. Nevertheless, the adventure in itself is otherwise fine thanks to the well-developed characters and excellent voice-acting.

The latest installment in the franchise is more than welcome and scores points mainly on its beautiful and varied world. The combat is also diverse and the soundtrack is incredibly enjoyable. However, the pace of the game is a bit crazy, the dialogues are choppy and the animations are a bit disappointing. Still some flaws, but if you are a fan of the franchise you will nevertheless enjoy it.

If you know the series, then you will be able to have fun with this game despite it being separate from the larger storyline. If you are not familiar with it, then you will not understand much of it because the story will be impossible to follow. Although the game has some nice mini-games to offer and is graphically neat, it is somewhat repetitive and too limited. Nice for fans, but not an outlier.

Sker Ritual copies the Zombies concept of Call of Duty and throws its own sauce over it. This results in a pretty fun title that excels mainly in its level design and gameplay with friends. Still, it has a lot of shortcomings. For example, the story is nothing, at times it is unfair and technically rough. Also, the game is rather ugly, which is a shame. Not a must have, but if you're in for a Zombie-esque adventure, you'll be fine here.

The Top Spin franchise is back and what the game does well is presenting you nice tennis gameplay. Indeed, you play a delightful game of tennis in this game, which you learn through excellent tutorials. The career mode is also a pleasure to play through, but so much for the good news. Less good news is that visually it looks questionable, especially the tennis players and outside of career mode the game is not that engaging. Online you can also get started, of course, but there, as always with 2K Sports games, you have the VC ruining the fun.

Like previous games in the franchise, this one is also incredibly relaxing to play and even educational here and there. Still, we can't get around the fact that it is not too engaging, which is due to the long load times and because there is fairly little to do and unlock. It's all not that special and on top of that, audio-visually it can be a bit shaky.

MotoGP 24 is the best game in the franchise to date. This is due to the new transfer market, the refinement of gameplay thanks to the adaptive difficulty and stewards, although they often make curious decisions as well. In addition, the game lacks real innovation in its various modes. In terms of gameplay, it is top notch, but the rest is all rather basic. Newcomer? Then this is your motor racing game. Do you have the previous installment? Stick with that.

Surviving in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies are the rulers? We've seen it before, but Welcome to ParadiZe gives it a fun twist by allowing you to control zombies.This makes you play both a management game and a top-down shooter/combat game, which makes for an original angle.One drawback, however, is that the gameplay becomes repetitive rather quickly and it looks a bit dated graphically. Too bad, because the concept is a lot of fun.

The gameplay of Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is nice thanks to the fine movement and cool combat. At the same time, it is unfortunate that the game quickly becomes repetitive in platforming and the battles are somewhat limited due to a lack of variety in enemies. The game can be described as Metroidvania in a way, but also not quite - it is a lot more accessible, which in turn makes it interesting for a wide audience. Overall, the game is certainly not bad, but it has so much more potential.

With Princess Peach: Showtime! you get a game that is right up her alley. You play a fun action adventure game in the theater that is filled with variety, making it not easily boring. With accessible gameplay, it is for everyone, young and old, but this also makes the game fairly quick to finish. The difficulty level is simply too low, and the blurry image quality doesn't do much for the gaming experience either. Keep this in mind, but the main thing is that you will at least have fun with it.

The adapted story is very engaging to follow which is complemented by clever level design and good exploration gameplay. At the same time, it is not the remake it could have been, as battles lack precision, the actors lack empathy and the technical side is also far from perfect. At its core, it is an interesting title, but these shortcomings definitely do the game no favors and that is a shame.

It took far too long, but Skull and Bones is now available, and not entirely surprisingly, the game does not really impress. The title lacks a compelling story, the missions are monotonous, the animations outdated, graphically very variable and at times boring. At the same time, you can have a lot of fun with it if you play in co-op and the naval combat is really cool though. There is also plenty to do in the huge game world. Skull and Bones is a game that in itself does what it needs to do, but at the same time it is bursting with unused potential.

The story of this game is really great if you are a fan of DC. Also, the fact that it is set in the Arkham universe is great, also thanks to the cool game world and beautiful presentation. So far so good, but the game's problems are the repetitive missions, the sheer chaos in battles that is counterproductive, the somewhat laborious moving through the map, sometimes cringy humor and more. The concept is cool, but has too many ifs and buts to be truly fantastic.

The action in Gangs of Sherwood is very fluid and smooth, making it a pleasure to experience. Especially if you play in co-op, where the variety is sufficient because the characters are so different from each other. In addition, the performance of the game is also excellent, but on the other hand, the campaign is very short, the game is not very strong visually and has the necessary glitches. It is also not very difficult, as it lacks a bit of challenge. Still some points to consider, but with that said, we can conclude that the game itself can be called fun to play.

Gameplay is smoother, ground combat is better and the real impact system adds a lot. Graphically it is also very strong, so in several ways it is a better game than UFC 4. At the same time, there is relatively little new in the career mode and the roster of fighters is not complete. Finally, the game suffers from occasional poor input registration and a disorientating camera, which together put a bit of a blemish on an essentially fine fighter.

NHL 24 should be an improvement over NHL 23 in several areas, but in the end it's very minimal. The new pass mechanism adds to the experience and the new animations are also an improvement. At the same time, there are now a lot of owngoals and the scores are often unrealistic. In addition, several modes have almost no innovation or improvement. Do you already own NHL 23? Stay with that one.

If you are a fan of RoboCop, this title is a game that plays on the nostalgic string. The story is fine, the game is faithful to the source material, the firefights are fun and it is varied. At the same time, the game lacks real challenge, depth or speed, and it is not flawless technically either. Nevertheless, a fun title to play, especially for fans.

The gameplay is enjoyable as always, and the return of classic maps is a nice reunion. At the same time, Activision did make it very easy on itself by recycling a lot of content, adding older maps and more. This makes it not a new game, but simply downloadable content. Moreover, the amount of bugs that have been present for a long time is ridiculous and the menu is a mess. The shooter has potential, but it's time to consider the community as gamers, not cash cows.

In many ways, Overpass 2 is a better game than its predecessor, but at the same time it still leaves some gaps. For example, the AI is completely retarded and sponsor goals are nonsensical, also the graphics are a bit weak. However, the game is full of variety in routes, has a nice career mode and the purchase price is very reasonable. Fan of the original? Then this is an okayish sequel that is at least better.

Sonic returns this year with a 2D platformer, and where the game starts out excellent, it weakens a bit in the long run. This is unfortunate, but the fact is that the gameplay in itself does provide enough fun, and the game is full of nostalgic references to the past, which are on point. The controls are top notch, but the co-op, while fun on paper, is too chaotic in execution, so it doesn't work well. At its core, a more than fine game, but where there are many pros, there are just as many cons to consider.

Lords of the Fallen tries again with this kind of reboot and partially succeeds. The switching between weapons and items in combat is very nice and the two worlds are also very cool to explore, thanks in part to the visual presentation and audio. The downside, however, is the unstable frame rate, the lack of variety in enemies over time and crashes, which impact the enjoyment of play.

Detective Pikachu Returns is a fun game to play if you're a kid. For adults it's way too easy and graphically it doesn't impress one moment. It's also kind of stupid that the game doesn't have localisation in every country when its targeting kids as the main audience. A bit of shame, since the core of the game can be fun and charismatic.

The gameplay is just a bit better again, graphically just a bit nicer, the menus just a bit better and the game features several new gameplay features that provide refinement. Still, we can't ignore the fact that all the additions are rather minimalistic, the game has some minor mistakes and that we had expected a little more from the evolution EA has promised us. Beyond these critical points, we do have to say that EA Sports FC 24 is a fine soccer game in its own right.

The missions you take on in PayDay 3 are very entertaining and provide plenty of co-op fun, although it is all coupled with an endless grind that is just a bit too prominent. Additionally, the launch did not run smoothly at all, but thankfully it is more or less fine now and plays just fine. Doesn't take away from the fact that the always online requirement is annoying, the game has some bugs and glitches, and some enemies are stupidly distracting to the experience.

NBA 2K24 is Visual Concepts' best basketball game to date. The gameplay feels fantastic and this is complimented with an excellent atmosphere during games. It also looks stunning and the addition of Mamba Moments is a big plus. This is why it is such a shame the game is being destroyed by the microtransactions. Annually a point of criticism, but it's really hitting its stride as it hinders the enjoyment of the game.

The game is extremely faithful to the film which is an equal plus. What helps well in gameplay is that the maps are very well designed and the game has the necessary depth through the skill trees, which adds to the gameplay. At the same time, the content is quite limited and the game has some balance issues, as well as technical issues. As a result, the final result does not come out optimally. Despite these points, the game is worth a try for fans of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

RIDE 5 is more of the same, but it has all been updated. For example, it looks even nicer, you have plenty of (more) choice of bikes and tracks, and also the feeling on the bike is excellent. On the other hand, the AI is not very intelligent and the career mode fails to convince. Still points to consider in a game that in general is fine. Especially for fans of the series.

Atlas Fallen does several fun and interesting things, such as sand surfing and deepening combat with the Momentum meter. At the same time, the gameplay feels a bit stiff and graphically there are some issues that stand out. The battles can also get a bit monotonous, but at the same time the game really does offer everything you expect from an open world action-RPG, which is fine.

Exoprimal's gameplay is truly excellent and visually we have nothing to complain about either. Still, it feels a bit limited in terms of content and although this will be expanded in time, it is a bit too sparse for now. We also do not appreciate the focus on microtransactions, considering it is a full-priced game. Finally, the audio is disappointing, which is a shame. Thus, the many positives also have a downside. Nevertheless, because of its fine gameplay, Exoprimal is worthwhile in its own right.

Motorcycle enthusiasts take note, with MotoGP 23 we are replaying the most important motorcycle championship. This in a traditional way similar to previous parts. The AI has improved and the addition of sprint races and dynamic weather, as well as LiveGP does the game justice. Yet we also have to deal with a new accessibility system that is not well balanced, the game can crash and the AI is just a little too good making it unrealistic. That being said, MotoGP 23 offers a lot of content to enjoy.

Creating attractions that defy gravity gives Park Beyond a unique twist. This provides just that extra step in this area, setting the game apart from similar titles. In the process, there is also plenty to do and experience, which will keep you going for a long time. Were it not that the game on the PlayStation 5 has too cumbersome controls, is not polished enough and has the necessary bugs, which can get on your nerves a bit. Not a very bad game, but it could have been so much better.

Minecraft Legends is a fine strategy game that will provide plenty of entertainment for young and old alike. The gameplay is fine and that goes also for the co-op feature, which allows you to experience everything with others as well. Moreover, there is no shortage of humour. At the same time, we should note that while the gameplay is fine in itself, it feels very superficial and in the long run it gets a bit repetitive. Things to keep in mind.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is a somewhat unique game. Especially thanks to its visual style, which gives it its own identity. The voice-acting is also very strong and the combat can be called interesting, but it stops there. Indeed, the elaboration of this is not good and the interface is a disaster. Then you have the poorly mixed-up music and the artefact based combat gameplay leans a little too much on luck, which starts to annoy pretty quickly. Bottom line: the concept is cool, the execution leaves much to be desired.

A new game in a now familiar series. It is mostly more of the same, but complemented by subtle improvements and technical optimisations. This makes every race feel slightly different and the Supercross Park is a nice feature that gives you a lot of freedom to race. It is a solid game, but one that has to deal with issues that were also known from previous installments. A lack of real innovation, mediocre AI and graphically it is also not very impressive. Take it into account, but other than that it is a fun racer.

As a new IP, Forspoken comes off quite well. For example, the story and lore is very interesting, with the interactions between Frey and her bracelet Cuff being enjoyable. Add in magical combat and parkour, and it creates a game that can bring you a lot of fun. At the same time, you have to take into account a very weak beginning and that it is very recognizable in terms of gameplay design. That is, it's more of the same and in terms of variety not really extensive. As a result, Forspoken is a game that is worth playing, but at the same time it doesn't really excel or innovate in anything very much.

High On Life is a game that, in terms of writing thanks to Justin Roiland, is superb. The humor is fantastic, though you have to love it. In addition, the audiovisual presentation is also excellent, but the gameplay itself is not too special. It is not very unique or innovative, but thanks to the weapons, voice-acting and writing it is a game worth playing. Especially if you are into rough, on the edge humor.

Need for Speed Unbound can be called one of the better games in the franchise thanks to its fine gameplay and fun races. At the same time, we can't ignore the fact that the police feels unbalanced and the game suffers from a lot of pop-in. Also, the balance between cars is not good and the checkpoints are awkwardly placed in certain races. Every positive point also has a negative counterpart, which ultimately makes it nothing more than a mediocre racer.

The gameplay of Gungrave G.O.R.E is very cool in itself because of its brutal and unrelenting action, which is improved up by a delightful soundtrack. In the game, you are simply a bad-ass and that feels good. Were it not for the fact that the game suffers from difficulty spikes, a lack in enemy variations and inconsistent level design that can get on your nerves considerably. Potentially a very cool game, although it loses some momentum as you progress.

WRC Generations should be the ultimate final installment in the series, but only half succeeds. There is absolutely no shortage of content with plenty of cars and tracks, giving you hours of gameplay. At the same time, it is lacking in innovation and improvement, including relatively mediocre physics. If you already have the previous part, this is not worth it. If you are new, then thankfully WRC Generations has plenty to offer despite some shortcomings.

The captivating story is what keeps The Devil in Me going, thanks in part to the atmospheric setting. Were it not for the fact that the characters can be a bit annoying on their own and that it does start to feel a bit outdated technically. It's a more than fine game on its own that gently tries to offer a bit more interactivity, making it enjoyable. At the same time, though, it is time for innovation and improvement in several areas.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force is a game with many positives, but offset by just as many negatives. The story is fun, but gets off to a too slow start. The soundtrack is fine, graphically it is mediocre. And so we can go on and on. It is certainly not an unpleasant game, but it could have been better in many ways. However, for fans of the franchise, the game could be well worth playing.

The Chant offers you an atmospheric setting in which a nice story is told, but at the same time it is somewhat shortchanged by a shaky visual presentation and mediocre voice work. Fortunately, then, the rest of the audio is a strong point of the game, as is the fact that as a player you have to take into account various mind-spirit-body elements, which of course applies to a retreat. At its core, a fine game, but it has its rough edges.

This game mostly builds on what we know from the previous game, but just a little bit better. The gameplay is more varied, the challenge is more present and the co-op feature is a lot of fun. All positive points, were it not for the fact that the presentation is a bit dull and there are some sloppy mistakes here and there. The lack of more language options, given the target audience, is also a shame. But if you look past this, it is an entertaining experience.

With FIFA 23, EA takes another step forward when it comes to gameplay with the necessary relatively subtle improvements and innovations. FUT Moments is an excellent addition and the visual quality is outstanding. At the same time, there isn’t a lot of real innovation and the game still has its share of issues and bugs, which can interfere with gameplay. Basically a good football game, but EA still has some polishing to do.

Soulstice feels – in a good way - like an action game of the past thanks to its brutal and intense action. As this continues to develop well, it manages to keep you playing. The downside, however, are the puzzles, as they are uninteresting and the level design feels a bit odd at times, which disrupts the flow. Some things to keep in mind, but the overall package is definitely to be appreciated.

As an aspiring manager, you enter Formula 1, mainly turning the knobs behind the scenes. The sport is also incredibly interesting on that side and this is presented in an excellent way, albeit with a high entry threshold. Furthermore, F1 Manager 2022 still has some issues here and there regarding the AI and tires, but that will be fixed. A pity is that crashes look visually lousy and it can be very difficult for newcomers. However, connoisseurs of the sport will have a good one here.

2K is back again with an annual installment in the NBA franchise and it dishes out more of the same, supplemented with new elements and improvements. The latter makes for even better gameplay and the new features, such as the Jordan Challenge, are great fun. Graphically, too, it is again impressive, were it not for the fact that some frame drops can occur. Also, the game can crash, which is annoying. Even more annoying are the many microtransactions, which remains a problem in this series. Other than that an excellent basketball game.

Getting to work with Crypto again is always good news. In this remake we get more or less the identical adventure as before, now optimized visually. This ensures a decent standard and the co-op is again very nice. However, the performance is far from optimal and the texture pop-in causes a detriment to the experience and that is a shame. Nonetheless, the remake is an enjoyable release that will certainly please fans of the franchise.

A classic returning in a modern guise is never wrong, but technically it is far from perfect. The camera can be very annoying and also the gameplay is sometimes hampered by the difficulty in estimating depth of the levels. Other than that, the gameplay is entertaining enough on its own and the controls are thankfully very fine. A fine remake, but otherwise not very impressive or special.

This multiplayer game is fun for in between thanks to the nice gameplay, but don't expect too much from it. During long play sessions you will notice that it becomes quite monotonous, partly due to the low number of mini-games and modes. Also, there is regular lag in online sessions, which can be a bit annoying. The upside is that the gameplay in itself can be very entertaining.

Digimon Survive takes a slightly different approach from previous installments in the franchise by combining a visual novel with combat and other fun Digimon elements. The story is dark, grim and very engaging to follow, making the game worthwhile in its own right. However, the combat system is superficial and the frame rate is not too stable either. Added to that is a shoddy localization, but all these criticisms aside, Digimon Survive manages to provide an enjoyable experience. Thanks in part to the audio-visual presentation.

Cleaning objects is generally not too fun to do, but in PowerWash Simulator that changes to a zen experience. It is incredibly relaxing to clean all kinds of objects and properties with the most powerful tools. The game is packed with levels, has a fun multiplayer and even has an addictive effect. There are some small bugs that can be a bit annoying, but it’s not something to really worry about. One of the most relaxing games you can play this year.

The jolly kangaroo is back in a brand new adventure, and it's quite enjoyable. This thanks to the fine gameplay and fun combat, making it a successful adventure. The diversity in environments and fighting moves provide variety in gameplay, but on the other side, the game has annoying bugs, the voice acting is not good and the audio will regularly drop out. So there is still some polishing to do, but if you look past that it is an entertaining platformer.

Play soccer in a way that only Nintendo can, in Mario Strikers. Mario Strikers is a game that is especially fun to play with friends, thanks to the variety of moves and in-depth mechanics. Were it not that the field game does not work so well, because the emphasis is too much on tackles and items. Also, the content of the game is rather sparse and to make matters worse, the AI is also very inconsistent. There is certainly fun to be had in the game, but we had actually expected a bit more from this game.

This kart racer plays very nicely and there is also a lot to unlock, which makes it a fun title in its own right. Were it not that the game is riddled with microtransactions and the number of circuits is low. On top of that, there is an unbalanced power-up system and the paid content feels superfluous, making it very disappointing in practice. The core is good, but it falls short in several other areas.

The interesting game world is worth exploring, thanks in part to the many fun easter eggs and missions you get to choose from. The fact is that it is technically rather messy. For example, the game has quite a bit of screen tearing, frame drops and more. Also, the battles are stiff, making it all feel a bit shaky. If you know how to get past this, then the game is quite nice to play.

The story and the philosophical themes give Monark a reason to play and that also counts for the tactical combat. However, visually the game is not that good and the level design could also be a lot better. Monark introduces a lot of original ideas and styles, but fails in the execution which is a shame. Don’t get it wrong, it’s a fine game, but it has so much more potential.

A very entertaining game in which you must roast human flesh to satisfy the wishes of the invaders on your island. It's like Overcooked, but slightly different. This is due to the dishes and the fact that you also have to kill the people before you can cook them. Completely absurd, of course, but that makes for a lot of fun. Play in co-op though, because solo is not recommended and it is a shame that the audio gets boring rather quickly, let alone the balance in extra skills which is not good enough. Points to consider, but that does not make the game less worthwhile to play with friends.

Training your brain never hurts, and this game on the Switch provides another great opportunity to do so. The game presents you with a series of activities and although some of them can be a bit frustrating, thanks in part to the controller control (play in handheld), it does manage to bring a lot of fun thanks to its diversity and multiplayer features. Not the best game ever in the series, but it is one that will entertain you.

Master Chief has returned, but our adventures on Zeta Halo left us with mixed feelings. The gameplay is truly phenomenal and the grapple hook, in particular, steals the show. But the game is, after an extra year of development, still not finished. The single-player is not memorable, the surroundings are repetitive and the game is on a technical level very unpolished. While we have a tremendous amount of fun with the multiplayer, 343 Industries just doesn’t meet the mark with this Halo installment.

It's a shame Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier doesn't really run well. The unstable online connection also doesn't do the game any favours. If not for these detriments, The First Soldier would actually make for quite a nice experience, with tons of atmosphere and decent gameplay. Again: shame.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is an absolute treat for Jurassic Park fans. It nails the atmosphere of the franchise and offers a lot of options to customize your park. However, if you're not a diehard Jurassic Park fan, you might find the management aspect a bit too limited, the visuals a bit too underwhelming and the amount of actual innovation rather disappointing.

Call of Duty: Vanguard contains a single-player campaign that is very promising on paper, but lacks the exciting finesse of previous Call of Duty games. On the other side, the multiplayer is fun and has a lot of good designed maps. The Zombies mode misses the mark completely with re-used assets being used from the rest of the game, simple to be filled with zombies, lacking any intriguing parts what makes zombies worthwhile. The whole game is technically a mess, but luckily the online part is fun.

Riders Republic brings some extreme sports fun to the table that is enjoyable for a long time coming. The diverse disciplines makes it variable enough to keep engaged. However, Riders Republic suffers from technical issues. Crashes aren't uncommon, the game knows a lot of bugs and issues and also the camera can be annoying from time to time. It's a fun game, but it could've been a lot better on the technical side.

A realistic shooter, that's more than welcome amidst all the fast-paced carnage that saturates the market, courtesy of Call of Duty and Battlefield. Slow, tactical and very much worth playing, whether you're alone or with friends. The graphics are a disappointment though, as is the weirdly inconsistent AI.

Chernobylite appears to have it all: an intriguing storyline, a phenomenal world that feels authentic and begs to be explored, and exciting survival horror gameplay. Technically, it's a mess though, with an inconsistent framerate, disappointing graphics and - worst of all - a huge gamebreaking bug that deletes your progress. What a waste...

The beloved classic returns with a lot of promise… but it doesn’t quite meet our lofty expectations. It looks, sounds and plays great, but there are downsides: you’ll find loads of bugs and glitches, some important features are missing and it turns out you can actually be too faithful to the original.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is initially a pretty fun arcade racer, with decent controls, as well as a nice connection between soundtrack and gameplay. After a while, the game starts to get tedious, though. Uninspired tracks, annoying enemy AI and a large amount of filler content ultimately prove Hot Wheels Unleashed's downfall.

WarioWare's back with an initially enjoyable title filled to the brim with minigames. After a couple of hours, however, you'll notice that this new iteration doesn't really have a lot to offer. Boring bossfights and a lack of minigame variation make for an ultimately unworthy addition to the franchise.

It's good to see Ni no Kuni II follow its predecessor and make an appearance on the Nintendo Switch. Technically, however, this port is a mess. The framerate's all-over-the-place and the same can be said about the game's resolution. The gameplay's fine, but this title's shortcomings cannot be ignored.

Ultra Age manages to convince with its fluent gameplay, supported by an elaborate skilltree that offers depth to each wieldable weapon. The impressive bossfights form the proverbial cherry on the cake. Graphically, however, this game looks like it's still stuck in the PlayStation 3 era.

Remarkably faithful to the source material and always fun to play, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is bogged down by an uninspired story and a huge amount of bugs.

Tweaking engines is RiMS Racing's strong suit, though the associated quick time events eventually turn its gameplay into a drag. Add to this the game's visual mediocrity and you'll realize that RiMS Racing might not be worthy of your time.

An intriguing concept makes for a decent story with a messy ending. The input lag makes playing Twelve Minutes a bit of a chore, though. Shame, cause there's definitely some good to be salvaged.

Same shit, different day. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has its moments, at times turning into an enjoyable shooter with wonderful graphics - as long as you're playing on PS5, that is. Inconsistent AI and frustrating scenarios however - as well as resolution and framerate issues; if you're on PS4 - ultimately drag down the experience into severe mediocrity.

Biomutant tries to do a lot of interesting things. It offers a potentially captivating world and unique crafting mechanics. Even the combat's fine, on the surface. The game, however, doesn't exactly play well, with clumsy controls, repetitive missions and an overemphasis on drawn-out dialogue that bores instead of inspires. This really could (and should) have been a lot better than it is.
