Paradize Project proposes survival, combat, multiplayer, all set in an open world in an entirely new take on the zombie genre. You have to be the smartest and the most skilled to dominate the enemy clans and avoid getting devoured. Especially by Miss Daisy, the first-ever zombified elephant recorded in the zombie history books!

I may have been hesitant at first but as Welcome to ParadiZe opened up, it quickly became one of my favourite co-op games.

Surviving in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies are the rulers? We've seen it before, but Welcome to ParadiZe gives it a fun twist by allowing you to control zombies. This makes you play both a management game and a top-down shooter/combat game, which makes for an original angle. One drawback, however, is that the gameplay becomes repetitive rather quickly and it looks a bit dated graphically. Too bad, because the concept is a lot of fun.

Keep your expectations in check for Welcome to ParadiZe, and there’s some fun to be had here. It’s marred with some technical issues and the odd bug but ultimately, exploring its world with your pet zombies in tow is, against the odds, entertaining enough to keep us playing — especially if you’ve got a co-op buddy along for the ride.

Despite some initial promise, my mood started to sour on Welcome to Paradize when the base defence aspects became more prominent. The rest of the survival elements seem much more relaxed but the regular bombardments of zombie hordes wore on me. The combat is fun with plenty of improvised weaponry and I did enjoy configuring the zombie bodyguards. It's a cheeky world that doesn't take itself seriously but the whole thing just doesn't quite come together.
