Silly Polly Beast is a wonderfully old-school horror adventure that has a modern edge. It is cruel, challenging, but brilliantly rewarding. Although I found it to be frustrating, I loved every minute of this must-play game.- Movies Games and Tech

I Mother is not a game for everyone. It’s slow, deliberate, and defiantly wordless. There are no skill trees or loot drops, no quest markers to follow. Kaku: Ancient Seal is clearly aimed at kid gamers, perhaps those looking for a Zelda-like experience on their console of choice. I imagine that younger audiences will be very satisfied with Bingobell’s work, and older players may also find themselves hooked on the game’s various modes of progression or inviting visual design. Be prepared for some nagging performance problems, though if those don’t bother you, this is a great adventure to jump into.- Movies Games and Tech

Overall, Silent Hill f is one of the more memorable horror games of late. The presentation; the visuals, the sound, the atmosphere is exceptional. I absolutely loved the theme and how it’s delivered through every layer of the game. The sense of dread, the uncanny familiarity of the town, the way memories twist. If you’re here for single-player storytelling, look elsewhere. Battlefield 6’s campaign is a soulless tour through beautiful wreckage. But if you crave the franchise’s signature chaos, the thunder of artillery, the synchronized madness of squads, the sheer cinematic energy of modern warfare, this is Battlefield. The refined gunplay, the expanded mode variety, and the potential of Portal make it a great comeback in the franchise.- Movies Games and Tech

Little Rocket Lab won’t replace titans of the genre for hardcore optimization fans, but it doesn’t need to. It fills a niche those games never tried to: automation as an act of care and restoration rather than domination. If you love building systems but crave a quieter, more human context, something closer to Stardew Valley this is one of 2025’s most charming indie surprises.- Movies Games and Tech

Despite some of the flaws of this game, I enjoyed my time with Daimon Blades. The combat felt great and fast-paced and I enjoyed the progress system. Much of my complaints about this game are things that I hope will get fixed on future updates to the early access version or the full game release. The is currently listed at $34.99 USD on Steam, so I’d understand if most would want to hold off on it till full release or sale. Regardless, if what I described sounded like it was up your alley, then show the devs some support and give this game a shot. If you’ve got a friend you could convince to get this game, it has multiplayer. All-in-all, I hope that this game continues to polish a lot of its rough edges till full release.- Movies Games and Tech

Pine Hearts is much more than just a puzzle game; it’s a therapeutic little retreat. It’s a beautifully crafted experience built around the simple, universal themes of family, memory, and finding peace in the past. If you are looking for a game with high-octane action, this might not be your cup of tea. But if you are seeking a wonderfully cozy, low-stress adventure that respects your time and fills your heart with warmth, the Android version of Pine Hearts is an absolute must-download. Folly Of The Wizards is just a boring, repetitive game. Mechanics, relics and weapons are never fully explained. The affinity system is interesting but never becomes something good. Another confusing addition that is just confusing. All this makes the game frustrating. Graphics and the level design is good and some of the boss fights are cool and challenging. Wander Stars is a lovely little JRPG that never overstays its welcome, with a cute, charming cast and a fun but basic combat system. Broken down into parts, it’s nothing special, but as a complete package it might just be one of my favourite gaming experiences of this year. And keep in mind; I am not an anime fan and have never seen an episode of Dragonball, so if you are then this is an even bigger no brainer, especially at just £21 on Steam. Mars First Logistics isn’t just a quirky physics sim; it’s a rare kind of magic. It takes a pile of parts, a stretch of Martian dust, and your stubborn curiosity, then turns it all into something deeply satisfying. There’s no hand-holding, no flashy cutscenes, just you, your machine. And when that machine finally works, when your delivery makes it across the ridge and lands clean, it’s a rush no scripted moment could match. If every big studio chased gameplay like this instead of polish for polish’s sake, we’d be living in a golden age again. Mars may be empty, but this game? The result of all this is a singularly confusing experience. There are moments when Death in the Nile does shine, even in its new bits. It makes a mystery out of glass being added to a caviar verrine, for example, and it requires actual detective gameplay. But then it goes through a lengthy section where we stumble aimlessly across the rooftops of Cairo, looking for one interactable door. It’s bits like these that make Death in the Nile feel bloated. A classic Poirot tale that keeps getting interrupted by a considerably less interesting one.- Movies Games and Tech

Somber Echoes succeeds, for the most part, in crafting a unique tale of sci fi horror and mythology. A captivating story, a great movement system and solid combat will satisfy fans of the Metroidvania genre and keep them coming back for more with multiple endings to unlock. Overall, Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition felt to be a strong attempt, and in many aspects, succeeds well in moving from VR to non-VR. If you’re coming into it without having played the VR version, it ought to feel like a solid Alien first-person shooter / horror experience: plenty of atmosphere, dread, decent combat, improved visuals, and tighter controls. If you grew up in the PS1 era, this game will feel like coming home. The grind, the repetition, the slightly janky presentation, they’re all part of the package, for better or worse. And while those elements may frustrate newcomers, for me it only amplified the nostalgia. It really does feel like a lost classic dusted off and somehow still works. At its asking price, you’ll want to consider how much patience you have for repetition and how much value you place on nostalgia. Playing through this game, I am reminded of a similar game that came out last year. That being TCG Card Shop Simulator. The concept of a store management game isn’t new, but both games share that similarity and that you sell items of a specific hobby. While the gameplay loop was enjoyable, it sort of wears at a certain point. Sure, I’m making a lot of progress in improving my store, but it feels like a lot of the same for each in-game day. There doesn’t seem to be any unique events or changes throughout the days. Because of this, the game loses steam and ends up being very repetitive. As of writing this, the game is still receiving updates, so there may end up being improvements to the game.- Movies Games and Tech

Chronicles of the Wolf is a damn good time and it’s exactly what you’d expect. I’ve repeated that phrase a few times now, but only because it’s so objectively true. Like tribute bands and movie tropes, we need a touch of the old school to remind us how far we’ve come and how much fun we’ve had along the way. If you know what you’re doing, you can breeze through in 5 hours, but it’s just difficult enough to provide a decent length on a first play through, owing to some pretty tricky boss fights that just about avoid being annoying.- Movies Games and Tech

Overall, Goosebumps Terror in Little Creek was pretty lackluster. Looking at the devs and publishers of the game, it kind of checks out that this game turned out this way. The developers PHL Collective and the publisher GameMill Entertainment are known for putting out low quality licensed kids games. Not to mention the pricing for Goosebumps, in my opinion, is not worth $40 USD for how short and barebones the experience was. On top of that, the game also has a $15 USD DLC pack that seems to only provide cosmetics, a 3D model viewer, and a concept art viewer. I can only recommend getting this game on a heavily discounted sale if you’re interested. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this game, even if you wanted to buy it for your kids.- Movies Games and Tech

Welcome To Basingstoke is a fun, little roguelike action zombie game. The campaign is short but each level offers plenty of replayability and ways to approach. Stealth is great in the game but so is the combat option. Aside from the auto-aim system which can throw you off and lead to a frustrating death, everything is near perfect. Space Adventure Cobra - The Awakening is perfect if you love the anime series. Furthermore, it is quirky, niche, and full of witty one-liners. However, if you do not like the 80s cartoon, the action, story, and blend of retro cutscenes will not resonate.- Movies Games and Tech

If you’re rhythmically challenged like me but curious about trying something new, don’t shy away from Fresh Tracks. Start on medium, find your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to push yourself once you’ve settled in. In the end, Fresh Tracks proves that you don’t need perfect timing to enjoy the ride, you just need to be willing to strap in, hit the slopes, and let the music carry you downhill.- Movies Games and Tech

Hirogami can be a fun game at times but it can be disappointing in other areas. It is a visually stunning game. The paper changing mechanic where you can transform into other animals is a great mechanic and can keep combat fresh sometimes and offer different ways to play and fight. But a frustrating camera angle which causes more harm than good, disappointing boss fights and story, and some bugs like falling through the map really bring the game down. Hirogami ends up just being fine as a game, which is a shame. The game teases a sequel at the end so hopefully the sequel can build on this.- Movies Games and Tech

I’m not familiar enough with the genre to compare its quality in the grand scheme of things. I found its pacing and localisation wonky, but perhaps these are things that VN connoisseurs actually enjoy about the genre, and to each their own. My hottest take is that I honestly would’ve preferred if they ditched the ARPG elements and invested more into the interactive driving the novel sections. I love narratives and choices, and would have liked to feel like a participant in the events of this world.- Movies Games and Tech

I love Zelda and I really wanted to love this entry. If you’re looking for an open world sandbox with outstanding physics and mechanics, this is the game for you. Its graphics, controls, sound design and music are absolutely stunning. And despite my grievances, I still put in over 150 hours, even on an adult’s schedule. But I can perhaps see now why I dropped this game shortly after launch, it’s a less cohesive experience than Breath of the Wild, exemplifying not only its best qualities but also some of its weakest. Perhaps open world Zelda has reached its natural peak; will the next entry try to somehow top it, or will it return to the old formula that I seem to be hung up with nostalgia for? Time will tell.- Movies Games and Tech

In an era of an overwhelming amount of fantasy open world games, The Knightling tries its best to stand out with its solid story, charming visuals, unique dialogue and musical score. In a world of far too many bloated open worlds, it’s refreshing to see a compact and brisk story, set in a vast world. Whilst combat can become far too repetitive and platforming can be tedious, I truly admire the developers’ attempts to think outside the box with some of their design philosophies. Sadly, performance issues may sour your experience but overall, this is a tale worth being told!- Movies Games and Tech

Chip ‘N Clawz vs. The Brainioids could have easily been dismissed as a Ratchet & Clank knockoff at first glance, but it manages to carve out its own identity by blending action-platformer aesthetics with surprisingly deep real-time strategy mechanics. It’s accessible without dumbing things down, letting players enjoy both the direct control of a cartoon hero and the broader satisfaction of building, managing, and commanding troops. Solo players get a well-paced campaign that gradually ramps up complexity, but it’s in co-op that the game becomes something special, equal parts tactical and chaotic, often hilarious, and always rewarding when you and your partner finally sync up. The versus mode feels more like a bonus than a centrepiece, but it adds extra replay value with friends or strangers.- Movies Games and Tech

A Dream about Parking Lots is a pretty drab affair. It is slow, repetitive, and a little tedious. Furthermore, the gameplay doesn't evolve and it is over in less than 2 hours. Though I like the dream-like design, it becomes stale very quickly!- Movies Games and Tech

Lucy Dreaming is a delightful throwback to the golden age of adventure games, but it’s far more than just a nostalgia trip. With witty dialogue, charming characters, and puzzles that strike a smart balance between challenge and accessibility, it manages to feel both familiar and fresh. Its blend of quirky British humor and heartfelt storytelling makes it stand out in a genre that too often leans on clichés. Whether you’re a veteran of the point-and-click classics or someone looking for an accessible entry point into the genre, Lucy Dreaming is worth your time. It’s funny, clever, and occasionally touching—a dream worth getting lost in.- Movies Games and Tech

I don’t want this review to seem like a critique on the simulator game genre as a whole. They can be a lot of fun with the right elements and the right people to play with! If you’re an avid fan of simulators, then this game certainly keeps up with the rest of them! If you’re like me though, the entertainment is fleeting and might only last a weekend at best. Even if you do manage to reach a point where everything is automated by workers, with upgraded machines churning out profits and robots flying all over the place, I might still wonder if the time spent was really worth it in the end.- Movies Games and Tech

The Rogue Prince of Persia is a solid 2D action roguelite. It excels in its movement mechanics making for great platforming sections combined with satisfying combat. Much of what I have said that I didn’t feel too strongly about the game were smaller aspects such as the medallions and the limited dialogue variety. Regardless of these small gripes, I would say this a great roguelite to pick up and sink some time into.- Movies Games and Tech

As a fan of the series since its inception, it is so good to see the original Gears Of War return in all its glory. In my wildest dreams I never believed this wonderful title would ever end up on PlayStation, but I stand so happily corrected. A superb campaign and brutal, yet brilliant multiplayer will endear itself to a brand new generation of players for years to come. Whilst some returning players may not see enough new additions and balancing issues to warrant returning, this game still absolutely rules! See you on Gridlock!- Movies Games and Tech

Grit and Valor is an admirable effort for the underserved, if incredibly niche, console RTS market. Unit customization and teambuilding grabbed my attention more than the moment-to-moment action itself, though some diehards may chalk that up to traditional genre conventions. If you’re a fan of the roguelite formula and willing to dabble in alternate gameplay types, this is certainly worth a look.- Movies Games and Tech

Astral Takers feels like a deliberate “comfort JRPG” perfect for those 1-3 hour sessions to kill some time. A low-stress, linear romp with a likable party, dependable turn-based fights, and a summoning wrinkle that keeps encounters from going stale. It rarely overreaches and, as a result, rarely dazzles. If you grew up on 16-/32-bit RPGs and want something you can chip away at in short sessions on a weeknight or commute, this scratches that itch. If you’re hunting for bold narrative swings, open-ended builds, or modern design risks (think branching jobs, tactical grid depth, or roguelite-adjacent experimentation), you’ll likely bounce off its safe choices.- Movies Games and Tech

Birdigo no doubt succeeded in being an enjoyable and addictive experience, on top of that it had some unique power-ups and it was a very calm and peaceful game. However, its difficulty and luck dependent system ruined the gameplay massively. It's no doubt one of the best word games I've ever played but at the same time the hardest and most annoying one too.- Movies Games and Tech

As it stands now, the game is just my cup of tea. The visuals are great with a decent story to back them up. The different builds are fun to explore and try out. The game has the perfect amount of grind that keeps my attention but doesn’t make me rip my hair out. It is not without it’s flaws, but none of its shortcomings detract from my overall experience. To put it simply, I’m just having a ton of fun playing and I feel as if my review does not do the game the justice deserves. Ultimately, this game is a refreshing reminder that the most immersive worlds don’t need to be built with complex visuals. Sometimes, all you need are a few well-chosen words and simple illustrations to create a world that lives on in your mind long after you’ve closed the game. Flame Keeper is a fun little game to play. It is a welcome addition to the roguelite genre. The combat is simple but fun and the abilities you can unlock are satisfying to use against enemies. The boss fights are challenging and a fun time. The tower defense type wave where you defend the cauldron for five minutes is also a welcome addition and can help keep things somewhat fresh after completing the other normal waves. Some of the levels can get repetitive over time as it does follow the same formula and waves. The story is also forgettable but the art style can keep player’s attention. The game is only about 5-6 hours long, depending on how many times you may die in the game but it is a reasonable length for this type of game. Flame Keeper is a good time for any interested in roguelite games.- Movies Games and Tech

Curse Rounds is a somewhat difficult, repetitive time killer with more in common with the coin gobbling arcade cabinets of yesteryear. It’s very cheap (£3/$4) but on modern store fronts that constantly host much deeper games for a similar price point, it feels like an iPhone game in comparison. There’s a good foundation here, very nice visuals and solid game feel and I can see the retro loving crowd getting more out of it, particularly those on Switch and PC (it played okay on controller, but I feel the aiming mechanics were designed with keyboard and mouse in mind). Maybe I’m too young, maybe I’m too impatient, maybe I’m too much of a wannabe film bro and maybe my astigmatism didn’t agree with how many objects were on screen (I should get my prescription checked). But perhaps the biggest maybe, is that one day I’ll find a rougelike that makes me want to roll the boulder back up the hill.- Movies Games and Tech

These old ported Flash games were a great reminder of the old time. Places like Newgrounds and Kongregate still stand and are doing great things, but it’s nice to revisit the old stick figure shows and Stickman Adventure games. New times aren’t completely bad, even SoulGames made a new game for Steam called Neverseen. It has a lot of what they specialized in, and has their signature art as well. But Swords and Souls Legacy Collection is definitely good to playthrough.- Movies Games and Tech

For me personally, the lack of technical issues elevated the experience from “worth checking out” to genuinely engrossing. While others may remember their time with Echoes of the End as marred by stutter and frustration, I’ll remember mine as a seamless journey through a beautifully crafted world, one that managed to capture both my eyes and my emotions without ever breaking immersion. So here’s my verdict: if you’re fortunate enough to avoid the technical troubles that others report, you’re in for a rewarding adventure. Echoes of the End may not redefine the genre, but in the right conditions, it proves that sometimes a game doesn’t need to be perfect to leave a lasting impact.- Movies Games and Tech
