A challenging puzzle game, with symmetry-based levels requiring us to "retune" our brain to complete each challenge. Not very long or varied, but a good game if played in short bursts.

Batora: Lost Haven is an entertaining sci-fi adventure with an appealing graphical style, albeit with some flaws. Recommended if you like action titles with an isometric view and you're looking for a thought-provoking story, but without ever being too challenging.

The Outlast Trials can give you several hours of entertainment with your friends, while played alone it is far too unbalanced and frustrating. Unfortunately, after several hours the repetitiveness of the missions starts to become noticeable, and even in co-op it starts to become a bit tiresome.

Race Pro oozes with Simbin's passion for motorsports, but with some shortcomings lowering its global quality: a very good simulation model, great roar sounds and an accurate tracks reproduction coexist with annoying frame rate problems and a mediocre cars reproduction. It's mainly a game for ultra-fans of cars and motors, looking for a very straightforward experience.

Need For Speed Unbound presents a unique style with a very good technical production, with great vehicle customization and tuning features. Unluckily, though, it doesn't fully convince due to lack of real innovation in gameplay, unevenly balanced difficulty and excessively slow progression tied to too small rewards obtained in every event. The online mode being separated from the story one feels counterintuitive and not on par with modern arcade racers, as well.

Don't be fooled by screenshots and videos: this isn't another Tetris clone by any stretch, but an original physics-based puzzler with Tetris-like blocks. Definitely entertaining if played with friends even if it lacks substance in the Xbox One-exclusive solo mode.

Far Cry: New Dawn gets many elements from Far Cry 5 adding a more focused world and a good base management component, but it still feels much like its predecessor and with probably the mostly forgettable villains of the entire series. If you appreciated FC5 you'll like this one too, but it won't blow you away.

Tennis World Tour 2 shows huge improvements over the original game, with satisfying gameplay and game modes. Some features, like the card system, might be debatable and it could have had better graphics, but this is definitely the right (re)start for a series aiming to become the new Top Spin.

A light, casual and funny game at a low price; if you're into arcade and frantic racers, it's worth your Microsoft Points.

A solid arcade racer with some very nice environments, but it feels a bit too weak in the technical department and with a too marked rubber-banding effect during the races.

MX vs ATV Legends proves to be a worthy evolution of its predecessors, with an improved Career mode and the addition of a significantly large and enjoyable open world. Add to these the high degree of customization, the immediacy of the riding model, the new Trails mode and the excellent implementation of dynamic weather conditions. Too bad just for some technical flaws and the high cost of DLC.

Immediate, fast-paced and fun, Sociable Soccer can provide matches of pure arcade fun, and the addition of the management component to the Career mode succeeds in getting people hooked, even if the simplicity of the various systems ends up hurting its longevity. Undoubtedly the best arcade soccer since Sensible Soccer.

A surprising game, offering us an ironic commentary on the games development process. Its ends up a bit too boring tough, due to the long dialogues and walking sessions, and with a price a bit too high for its length.

LEGO Bricktales offers us a nice opportunity to relive the experience of designing and creating LEGO constructions, although despite the excellent artistic and technical level, the game remains an uninnovative and not too engaging puzzle-adventure, especially with an adult audience. Definitely recommended, however, if you are a brick-building lover.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead manages to entertain despite not offering particularly memorable gameplay or storyline. Given its low price, however, it is a good choice for both thriller fans and those looking for an innovative experience thanks to the special feature of microphone-activated gameplay.

WWE 2K25 improves and refines the already good previous version, but the new The Island mode feels too immature and tied to microtransactions, while the arena crowds are still not up to par with the rest of the simulation. It's an update that takes the series a step forward, but it still doesn't scream miracle.

Despite its mobile origins, Pumped BMX + manages to satisfy thanks to good control system and physics simulation. With something like 500 different challenges, it's an advised buy to all lovers of Trials-like games.

A solid fighting game, with a wide fighters roster even if with not many new entries, and a soft learning curve for newbies. Visually it isn't too convincing, though.

Blades of Fire is a demanding action-adventure shaped by MercurySteam’s distinct style: rich worlds, deep systems, and thoughtful combat centered on its excellent weapon-forging mechanics. However, cryptic objectives, confusing level design, and an unremarkable story can frustrate. Despite these flaws, its strong identity and rewarding progression make it a worthwhile journey for patient players seeking a unique, handcrafted challenge.

The Saboteur contains several good ideas with a nice mix of several gameplay styles, but due to a lacking technical realization stays in the group of half-succeeded games.

Dead Island 2 manages to surprise by proving to be solid and, above all, fun, thanks to an excellent co-op segment and a great dismemberment system. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said at the narrative level, and the gameplay suffers from excessive repetitiveness, but it still remains a worthy zombie game for fans of the genre.

A good first step for Mega Man's relaunch, but lacking that artistic spark that could have made it a better package overall. Gameplay wise it's a very good game thanks to the new mechanics too, so it's definitely advised for the series fans.

Guacamelee! 2 adds some new elements to the first game's formula without innovating it, confirming all the strengths but also the flaws of its predecessor. We would have liked a fresher and more ambitious sequel, but every lover of the first game will definitely find it a pleasing - but not surprising - experience.

ELEX II is as vast, free and engaging as it is crude and flawed. Over-the-top elements clash with a lame technical side and a flawed enemy AI, in a continuous roller coaster of conflicting emotions. It may involve you deeply as well as you may come to hate it for its many imperfections and the punishing difficulty, but however it goes you won't fail to realize this is a game made with heart.

NHL 18 introduces some welcome novelties in the Threes and Training Camp mode, but it ultimately feels too similar to the previous game.

Dustborn is a narrative adventure that starts very slowly but eventually captivates you with an intriguing plot and characters that you will grow increasingly attached to. Despite some slower parts, it keeps itself fresh and interesting by mixing different types of gameplay and a wide variety of settings. Even if it doesn't have what it takes to sit next to the top titles in the genre, if you love this kind of adventure it will keep you entertained for many hours.

For survival horror lovers Dead Space 3 is somewhat of a letdown, with a more action-oriented soul and fewer thrills than the previous games. Its strengths lie in the engaging story, good longevity and co-op implementation, but the series' origins seem a bit lost.

Murdered: Soul Suspect manages to deliver a good ghost story with some very interesting ideas and twists, but it lacks depth and refinement. Nonetheless the story got us to the point that we’d like to see a sequel.

A nice take on a 2.5D Souls-like experience, extremely challenging even if a bit underwhelming art and story-wise.

Amnesia: The Bunker throws the player into a dark and distressing atmosphere, which however gradually gives way to a much less terrifying reality, composed of a few problems and a lot of backtracking.

TT Isle of Man 2 improves on the first game adding more tracks and variety, and keeping its nature of hard-core and challenging racing sim for moto racing enthusiasts. It still lacks in performance and AI though, two areas where we'd like to see strong improvements with the next game.

One Piece Odyssey is a turn-based JRPG that mixes a classic formula with some new elements. While not a masterpiece, it offers a nice breath of fresh air for licensed anime games. Unfortunately, narrative pacing and an inconsistent technical department make for a diluted and boring experience, but it remains recommended to both fans of the saga and JRPG fans in general.

LEGO DC Super-Villains is an entertaining, more of the same installment in the LEGO series, mainly shining thanks to the interesting story and the character creation system. But TT Games' series definitely needs a long-overdue gameplay and structure refresh.

A very entertaining game with great gameplay and graphics, partially ruined by an excessively slow player progression and great reliance on its microtransaction system.

AO Tennis 2 isn't perfect but it manages to entertain and surprise thanks to a brilliant Career mode, a good gameplay depth and great customizability.

Stray is a charming 'cat adventure' that succeeds in making us identify with the little feline protagonist and in making us experience its beautiful world from the point of view of this agile creature. The interesting story could have had a better ending and some sections are a little too tiring or repetitive, but if you like original and different titles, and especially if you love cats, this is definitely a game to try.

A good sandbox game, with colorful visuals and well done looting and crafting mechanics. It lacks in combat and storytelling, but it's one worth trying.

A solid and well thought game with great visuals and gameplay variety, but you'll finish it in a couple of hours and the free movement system often gets in the way. Better suited for a budget-priced buy.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot nails the structure and features of a perfect anime-based action RPG, but it lacks in content and execution, with too many uninteresting side quests and underdeveloped features. It still remains a great Dragon Ball experience allowing us to live Goku's and friends adventures better than before though, so fans of the anime won't be let down.

The best title in the series yet, thanks to the great anime style visuals and the addition of a bit of strategic gameplay. Koei needs to work on the confusing story and the dull and repetitive environments, though.

A real old school shooter, true to the genre's roots and packed full of action; its main flaw is the uninspired design, but every 90's shooter lover should give it a chance.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! feels more like a remaster than a remake, with an updated technical aspect but not up to modern standards and with the major novelty, Troops, proving to be far too invasive. At the same time, though, the game represents the end of an almost 10-year-long wait for one of the missing chapters in the series, thus turning out to be an almost obligatory purchase for any fan and for newbies alike, as it doesn't require any prior knowledge of the series.

The Complex is an intriguing interactive movie, with good production values and a compelling story. It might have been longer, but it's definitely worth a watch/play.

Dead Island is an entertaining game, with interesting locations and a good RPG component, even if sometimes too cumbersome. Its main problems reside in a disappointing technical production and annoying bugs that sometime prevent us from completing a mission, forcing us to reload the last save. It's a very good game concept, but too unpolished.

A unique game, with great and distinctive artistic design; if you can turn a blind eye on the somewhat repetitive gameplay and quite short longevity, it could prove to be one of the most memorable visual experiences of this generation.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard shows a BioWare that wants to return to telling great single-player stories and taking us to fantastic places, but it only partially succeeds due to limited combat, a narrative with significant quality shortcomings compared to the past, and a technical aspect that suffers from the various identity changes the game has undergone over the years. Nevertheless, the new Dragon Age still remains fun to play, enticing to explore, and brimming with riches to experience and discover; thus, it deserves a chance from gamers.

Crackdown 2 doesn't do anything particularly bad, but either doesn't do anything to shine above the other games. Chaos and destruction are everywhere, even after we've cleaned up an area of the city, making it impossible to quietly explore the city in search of secrets and orbs, like in the first game. It's a fun game at first, but it wears quickly into a repeated more of the same.

Super Bomberman R brings back the series' popular and addictive gameplay, with tons of contents and some new features. Lots of contents are blocked behind overly high coin amounts though, making even unlocking a single level or character a too lengthy grind.

A visually brilliant adventure, graced by a very good direction that managed to tighten the storytelling and to get rid of the more boring walking sections in the walking simulator genre. Unluckily, though, we couldn't fully appreciate the surreal and confusing story, even after a second playthrough.

FIA European Truck Racing Championship surprised us with good gameplay, great tracks and a good and balanced gameplay; it feels like we're really driving these beast cars, with all their mass. It disappointment in driving wheel management, sound design and overall graphics, but it's definitely a game to try for lovers of racing games.

The Solus Project offers a fascinating sci-fi adventure, with some absolutely stunning vistas and a mystery-filled storyline. It hangs too heavily on classical survival elements though, something contrasting with its linear story and that could have used a little bit more innovation.

Battletoads delivers a fun and challenging 2D action experience with a good variety between fighting, platforming and other game styles, and with a great soundtrack. It unluckily ended up being a bit too short, and lack of online co-op is a real letdown.

It lacks on the visuals side, especially after the other movie tie-ins Ubisoft got us to, but it sports a charismatic cast and solid gameplay. An enjoyable game, recommended to newcomers and fans of the belgian character, children and grown-ups.

Aragami 2 inherits some of the issues of the first episode and proves to be unsuitable for players with little patience or not accustomed to stealth titles; despite this, after the initial impact it manages to entertain us and give us good satisfaction, leading us in its fascinating oriental world. If you love action-stealth titles and this kind of environment, it is definitely worth a shot.

Anthem shows a huge potential, but leaves us a sour taste due to many shortcomings like lack of variety, an underwhelming story and a poor end-game. Over all of this, what really shine are its awesome environments and the Javelins, with their great details, customizability and animations. We hope in time BioWare will be able to enrich the game and fulfill his true potential.

Ghostrunner makes us run and jump at high speed in a cyberpunk city, while avoiding enemy bullets and delivering mortal blows with our katana. It's got great environments and a satisfying overall design, but it fails in delivering the precision in movements and jumps this kind of game would need, ending up in a sometimes frustrating experience. Except for this, it's definitely a fascinating game.

Call of the Sea fascinates thanks to great environments and an intriguing story, helped by a good narrative and puzzle structure. Some puzzles feel a bit too cryptic and the story could have expanded more especially towards the final hours, but it's definitely a game to try and a successful debut for developer Out of the Blue.

South of the Circle is a fascinating and engaging adventure that will succeed in captivating lovers of narrative and emotionally charged experiences, as long as it's seen as "just" an interactive movie whose path cannot be altered, but in which we can alter the emotional nuances and small details. This and the excellent art compartment definitely make it recommendable for those looking for a good story to experience and relax in front of the screen.

Ys Origin didn't age too well and it could have been improved with better menus and cut-scenes. But it still remains an enjoyable action-RPG that lovers of the genre should try.

The platforming component has its ups and downs too, with a too heavy backtracking. All in all, an interesting game but its launch price feels a bit too high for the offering.

A funny adventure and pinball mix, with a captivating main character and lots of challenges. It lacks on content though, but its price is low enough to recommend it to the more curious gamers.

A not too inspired Hotline Miami stealt-based clone, but this doesn't keep it from being entertaining both alone and with a friend.

A nice retro-flavoured platform game, with a challenging campaign and an infinite arcade mode. Too bad for its serious repetitiveness and lack of more varied environments.

Rise & Shine offers a great visual look with lots of cameos and references to the video gaming world, all coupled with a good and challenging action-platform gameplay. The good action phases get hampered by more repetitive and long puzzle moments or by some frustrating trial and error sequences, though. But when it manages to really shine, it can be a great action game.

A definitely unusual game for Xbox One: an old-school first person dungeon crawling JRPG, with a dozens hour story and an highly charming art style. It could have done without some questionable design choices like its unstable difficulty and way too long walls of text but everyone looking for a good JRPG on Xbox One won't be disappointed.

Antigraviator is a good WipeOut-like racer, with a great driving feeling and high content variety. It feels a bit too much like a dejà vu though, without adding any meaningful new elements to the genre.

An interesting porting of pen-and-paper tactical-RPGs to the video game medium, The Living Dungeon offers a long but not too interesting story, while its gameplay can result in some too frustrating moments also due to lack of proper instructions. Its local multiplayer, though, can result in an entertaining experience mainly for lovers of old school p'n'p RPGs.

City of Brass is a visually and stylistically intriguing roguelite FPS, with a unique touch in its whip mechanics. Unluckily due to poor enemy AI and repetitive combat, though, it fails to reach its full potential.

An original collectathon platformer, with a lunatic premise and fun gameplay, but with a little bit too many rough edges.

Xenon Racer is an adrenaline-filled and enjoyable arcade racer with lots of contents, but doesn't bring anything new on the table and feels a bit dated, lacking enough innovation. It's however advised to anyone missing a good Ridge Racer-esque experience on modern consoles.

Isonzo is a historically accurate WW1 shooter, with slow and long battles to conquer a few meters of the battlefield. Definitely an improvement over the previous games of the series, but it still needs some refinements and fixes, especially in balance and variety, to really be an unmissable game.

An incremental sequel over the first game, OlliOlli 2: XL Edition doesn't take too many risks reusing the same old formula but with lots of new contents and a new local-only multiplayer mode. If you liked the first game, this won't disappoint.

Torchlight III builds on the previous game's good gameplay, but the overall experience feels uninspired. A bit too many technical problems aren't helping, too.

Redout 2 sports a great variety with lots of tracks in gorgeous environments, vehicles and different play modes, while introducing a more challenging gameplay removing the pick-up boosts of the first game and betting everything on the boost system; it feels even overly challenging due to some balance and design choices. Adding the too basic multiplayer component to the picture , this feels like a game needing some meaty post-launch adjustments and additions.

A frantic and fun top-down arcade racer, with lots of modes and great visuals but with an uninspired art design.

A nice mix of racing and platform gaming with hints of TrackMania and Trials, Jet Car Stunts manages to entertain despite its very simple presentation. At its low price it's definitely worth a try.

A successful mix of Zelda-like and roguelike genres, with lots of surprises to discover and an inspired artistic look.

Despite some camera and AI problems, Pure Chess can satisfy both experts and chess newbies thanks to a deep tutorial, great graphics and an async online multiplayer mode.

2Dark is a two-sided experience. On one side we get a thrilling atmosphere and a satisfying and compelling stealth-oriented gameplay, while on the other side we get frustrating kid babysitting missions where anything can go wrong. All in all, however, it's an experience every horror stealth games lover should give a chance.

The game fails to marvel the player due to the absence of boss battles, exploration and QTEs, becoming a rather repetitive beat'em'up. Fans will however be pleased in finding inside both the anime series, with exclusive content from Studio Pierrot and a lot of characters to fight with.

Even if not revolutionary or innovative, Toy Soldiers: War Chest represents a decent - but technically disappointing - new chapter for Ubisoft's action/tower defense hybrid.

Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling is a nice love letter to Paper Mario, with its classical cartoonish look and old-school turn-based gameplay, but even with some meaningful differences, it ends up looking too much as an imitation rather than a creative tribute.

A good and valid workout program, suited for some serious home fitness. Don't expect to be trained in MMAs tough, because except for some boxing excercises, you won't find much.

Headlander features some very inventive mechanics, with a satisfying metroidvania structure and a funny story; its fights aren't something to write home about though, and some puzzles are quite inscrutable resulting in a "click anywhere until you find something" routine.

Scribblenauts meets the party games genre losing part of its DNA in the process. It's still a fun experience, but the series' core mechanics could have been better used.

John Wick Hex tries to put us in the shoes of John Wick, but it succeeds partially in this: while the timeline-based gameplay is great to make us experience all the choices John faces every single second during a fight, we've got too few tactical options. The clunky animations don't help to reproduce the trademark fights choreographies, too.

Redfall offers satisfying gameplay, with the classic flavor of Arkane games especially when played in co-op thanks to the synergy between the different heroes' powers, but overall it fails to fully convince due to a series of technical problems, dated game design, and an uncompelling plot. Still, it remains a good opportunity for intense online games among friends, hoping that future patches will solve at least part of the problems encountered.

CoD: Modern Warfare brings back a very cinematic and thought-provoking campaign to the series coupled with a state-of-the-art engine, but it's in its multiplayer modes where it fails to convince due to balancing problems that end up encouraging campers and the removal of many small improvements the series had during the years. The co-op Specs Ops mode feels under-developed and too basic, too. All in all, the most disappointing episode in the series this gen.

A nice and inventive rhythm/platform game, even if a tad repetitive.

A solid arcade karting game, with an original and catchy point of view on the Formula One circus. Both kids and grown-up F1 fans will find it entertaining and funny.

Etherborn offers us some very clever platform-puzzle mechanics with a good artistic design. It sometimes feels a bit more difficult and frustrating than it should be due to how the camera works, but it's definitely a game to consider for lovers of the genre.

The Surge 2 brings us an improved combat system with a satisfying crafting and upgrading mechanic. Too bad such care wasn't given to graphics, art and storytelling, keeping it from reaching higher qualitative grounds.
