Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is an uninspired sequel that does not do much to change the stagnant Lego formula. The title instead takes a step backwards compared to the recent Lego games. The adventure still entertains thanks to the humor and charm, but TT Games really have to start innovate the formula now.

Do you sometimes miss the golden days of JRPGs? Perhaps Tales of Hearts R, the remake of the 2008 DS-version only released in Japan, can ease the pain? If nothing else, it is a fun and easygoing experience, where fights are hectic yet controllable, leveling up is super-fun instead of time consuming and the music is brilliantly mind-blowing. Tales of Hearts R is not trying to change the genre but it doesn't disappoint.

Just like its 3DS sibling Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U combines the best elements from its predecessors. The result is a game that works equally well for competitions as it does as a pure party game for the family. Even though the matches are a bit too chaotic and some game modes plain boring, it does not prevent Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U to be the best entry in the series.

Pokemon is as good as ever, even though this is more of a remake than a new game. At the same time there are several parts that should’ve been upgraded by now, for example the poor story and the badly written dialogues. Still: just like Pokemon X & Y, it’s easy to spend to many hours catching monsters.

Four great games presented in full HD and 60 fps. Add tons of multiplayer options and interesting bonus content, like the TV-show Nightfall. Unfortunately you also have to add some jarring technical issues and an online mode that barley works – and even if it did it’s missing some important options like the ability to play Halo CE maps only. It centers around a few youths in Tokyo who accidentally invents a machine that can send messages back in time. The mix of science fiction and drama is further lifted by its memorable characters, in part thanks to good Japanese voice actors. Not much has happened over the twenty years that this series has been active and the latest installment offers the same entertainment multiplayer that we have been used to. Worms Battleground feels a bit old from the beginning, mainly because of the lack of new content together with some problems that should’ve been fixed by now.

Watch Dogs is a game with a high budget that has some really good ideas. Unfortunately it also comes with a lack of focus and many pointless mechanics. Although Ubisoft understand the potential in the concept of hacktivism they aren’t using it in any meaningful way. And instead of a comment to society, Watch Dogs is a pretty shallow action game that we have seen many times before.

Limbo-like Monochroma has some stunning looking environments but is apart from that a quite hollow shell of a puzzle-platformer. The fate of the two protagonists could have been more involving, and the same could be said about the uninspired puzzles. Controls and ingame mechanics struggle as well and make the game hard to recommend to any but fans of the genre.

With colorful yet somewhat frightening environments, a great soundtrack and a fantastic combat system, Transistor is a unique experience that’s hard not to be amazed at. The game is a bit short and the story could’ve been better told - but it’s easily forgivable in this memorable adventure.

Mario Kart 8 follows the well-known structure in the series and gives us a steady amount of game modes, even though Battle Mode isn’t nearly as good as it used to be. With a bunch of new and memorable courses it’s hard to not recommend Mario Kart 8, both for the fans of the previous titles as well as for newcomers.

Wolfenstein: The New Order isn’t trying to revolutionize the genre in any way, but it’s a really entertaining and action packed game. The campaign is just long enough and also unusually well written. There are some things that doesn’t work that well, but most of it can be forgiven thanks to the great amount of fun.

In Harm’s Way isn’t bad in any way, but it shows that this team can fail, even though the quality is pretty high even in the worst of moments. The dialogues are well written, but the characters are mostly boring and the story line isn’t as near as good as in A House Divided.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an entertaining but flawed experience. Beenox has aced the web swinging, but the controls are unreliable and the camera work is horrific at times. It’s apparent that the game was rushed to be released at the same time as the movie.

Kirby, Nintendo's unsung hero, is back in yet another incredibly charming adventure. The difficulty is a bit low as usual, but it makes the game perfect for a younger audience or people who just want something relaxing and fun to play. Great visuals with impressive 3D are the high points.

Chronology is a pleasant platformer with emphasis on puzzle solving. Unfortunately, the puzzles are too simple to entertain. The charming graphics and the music are very generic and does not impress at all. All of this combined makes it difficult to remember that it indeed is a competent game.

With inspiration from several other fantasy role-playing games Spiders Studio try to mix the best of different worlds. As a consequence the game never feels unique nor mindblowing. The combat is sometimes satisfying but soon becomes repetitive and boring. In addition, the is horrid and the voice acting even worse. For a role-playing game Vulcan's adventure ends quickly and abruptly and never becomes more than a game in the genre soon to be forgotten.

Initially Octodad: Dadliest Catch is very entertaining and offers many laughs but the originality of the game does not quite last until the end due to some repetitive levels and frustrating game moments. However, thanks to a great script and charming characters Octodad: Dadliest Catch still remains a fun and different gaming experience.

NES Remix 2 offers several entertaining ”what if” scenarios, where different kind of games meets in ways that’s both interesting and fun. Unfortunately it comes with way to much pointless gameplay. If Nintendo wants to compete at the same level as the best arcade games on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN they need to do something else than just remixing old stuff.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil isn’t a bad game. It offers a setting that’s perfectly fit for the occasion and includes almost every license that you can expect. But since it’s largely the same game as FIFA 14 the price tag feels a bit to high, especially considering that very few will play after the real world cup is over.

Zen Pinball 2 is back with four new, and great, Star Wars tables. The Han Solo table is one of the best in the entire Zen Pinball catalogue. With a total of ten tables the concept is getting a bit stale, but it’s still a great experience for anyone that’s into pinball.

Even though the beginning is filled with cliches, Daylight still manages to scare. At least for the first hour. After that the terror turns to indifference, the main character yells nonsense and the game mechanics become awful. Luckily you can connect the game to Twitch, which will allow other players to form your experience. Only then can Daylight become something more than a nonstop yawning.

Child of Light is not your ordinary game, although many aspects of it feel familiar. It moves you, with its graphic splendor that clearly took a lot of hard work. Child of Light is pretty straight forward, nothing is complicated or difficult to understand. But this does not mean that you forget about this game with a blink of an eye. Before my inner eye I can still see Aurora's red hair dance in the wind and my ears still hear the music that make the surroundings feel even more vivid.
