When Aliens vs. Predator is at it's best it actually does capture the essence of the movie franchise. But for the most part this feels like an obsolete title that should have been released three or four years ago. Antiquated game play mechanics, underwhelming presentation, repetitive campaign scenarios and horribly unbalanced online multiplayer are just some of the issues that makes this one of the big disappointments of 2010.

Aside from a new main prosecutor the additions to the classic Ace Attorney formula are close to non existing. Though lazy in the new features department and a somewhat weaker plot this is still a highly competent addition to the franchise with a rich and interesting character roster. If you're been bitten by the Ace Attorney bug, this is for you. If you're still on the fence, this is not the game to pull you in.

Being the sequel to the phenomenal Bioshock this title certainly has a lot to live up to, but Bioshock 2 does manage to deliver an engrossing and entertaining experience. There are virtually no innovation when it comes to the core concept and gameplay though and exploring Rapture often feels like a rehash of the first game. Despite the lack of new ideas the game is still very entertaining and the plot maintains the high standard set by the first game.

Dante's Inferno mimics the formula established by the God of War series, and for the most part it works great. The first half of the game is a bit underwhelming and the plot is weak in delivery and execution, but the overall experience is salvaged by the fact that Visceral has implemented a great system for character development that offers a great variety in combat strategy.

Puzzle Chronicles is a decent game wrapped in a tacky and uninspiring packaging. The puzzle based combat and the accompanying system for upgrading your character works well. Unfortunately the overall design and voice acting is horrendous and there are simply too many minor flaws present here for the game's qualitative sides to really shine through. Stay clear until you can find this title in the bargain bin.

The second part of the Mass Effect saga is nothing short of a milestone in game design. The technical issues present in the first game are now gone, a fact that's beautifully demonstrated by the improved graphics engine. There's a ton of worlds to explore, an amazing roster of characters to recruit and a great and engaging story. But Bioware's major feat is how all your decisions have a major impact on how the story, and thereby the trilogy, unfolds.

The basic premises of Dark Void are promising enough. Combining ground based combat in third person with aerial jetpack combat could very well be the foundation of an entertaining action title. Unfortunately, Dark Void is a prime example of great ideas executed poorly. A far too drawn out introduction, terribly bleak storytelling and uninspiring combat all contribute to the wasted potential that is Dark Void.

As a flight game from developer Project Aces of Ace Combat fame there are many reasons as to why this could have been a competent flight game for the Wii. Unfortunately you'll get a limited amount of hours out of this game and the motion based controls don't do anything to improve the experience. Add to this a confusing storyline and presentation that's decent at best and you get an overall experience that'll leave you unfulfilled.

Shift represents a true attempt from EA to create an authentic racing experience, a successful attempt that brings the Need for Speed name out of the shadows and into our racing hearts. This title, as the name implies, offers you the chance to take the reins of a trading empire during the 17th century trading wars. You'll get to use diplomacy, trade and warfare as your tools in your quest for trade monopoly. The campaign mode is very meaty and will let you trade, wage war and use your strategic wit for hours on end. The only major drawbacks is the lack of land based warfare in the campaign mode and being limited to naval warfare only online. Nevertheless, this is a great game for trade junkies everywhere.

Wii Sports Resort is a mixed bag when it comes to value for money. If you already own a number of Wiimotes this will give you a really entertaining experience with friends and family. Most of the new minigames are really entertaining and the revamped ones have been greatly improved. The Wii Motion Plus does improve the overall feeling a lot, but since it remedies past shortcomings that's more of a necessity than a strength. As a whole this is definitely not entertaining enough to warrant multiple purchases to get the Wii Motion Plus but if you already own the controls you'll find a lot to like here.

It contains a very competent and entertaining fighting mechanic and appealing graphics. But the content is extremely limited with only 20 characters, no career mode, few alternative game modes and the online mode barely works.

Playing as a young boy with the mission of saving an overly cute world might not be the most unique concept to bless the Wii, but in this case the formula is surprisingly addictive. If you in any way enjoy the gameplay and concept offered in other titles such as Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon this is a game you'll thoroughly enjoy.

Madballs in Babo is as the name implies a quirky arcade shooting game. It doesn't bring anything really new to the table, and what's offered is in no way innovative or especially impressive. But if you're in the market for an oddball shooter, this title will entertain, if only for a little while.

At first glance one might think of Trine as a visually appealing 2D side-scrolling adventure, and while that impression certainly is correct, the real gist of the matter lies withing the physics and puzzle based gameplay elements. In order make your way through the game, either by yourself or with up to two friends, you'll have to utilize the individual abilities of the three main character classes in order to succeed. The concept doesn't stay fresh all the way through, but this is still a great 2D adventure and co-op experience we recommend to one and all.

The sixth movie in the Harry Potter series was a great and entertaining experience - something that can't be said about it's videogame adaptation. The core premise of the game is built around three monotonous minigames that are repeated throughout the game. The one saving grace is that the adventuring and exploring are somewhat interesting and the musical score is great.

This is an action packed western experience that will entertain in singleplayer as well as multiplayer sessions. Despite a heavy emphasis on gunslinging the plot and characters are well crafted and manage to stay interesting until the very end. With Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood the bar has been set high for the niche genre that is western games.

In the videogame adaptation of the Ice Age 3 movie you'll get to control several characters from the movie. Most levels have a unique flavor of their own which leads to a varied but also somewhat splintered experience. Everything from Indiana Jones inspired levels to controlling dinosaur spaceship is represented in the game. Though it might be a somewhat uneven experience Ice Age 3 is still the best movie based game for kids thus far.

Round 4 is a really solid boxing experience and a major step forward for the franchise. The already solid foundations laid in it's predecessor have been polished and the controls are close to perfect. The career mode is the one major component we can complain about, but any flaws found there are instantly remedied by the intense fighting during matches.

With the game based upon the movie bearing the same name we're hard pressed to actually connect the dots in the plot, the reason for this being that the plot is laid out so poorly it's virtually impossible to grasp. Instead of great narration the storytelling is based upon you being sent from area to area to destroy robots, which is actually surprisingly fun. Even though this is by no means a great game it will appeal to the younger audience looking for an action title with big robots in it.

Although this is a scaled down version of the Anno experience we've come to know on the PC it still has enough depth to captivate us through for hours with it's appealing blend of intuitive controls and charming graphics. The controls are well adapted to the unique control scheme of the Wii and the presentation does a god job of conveying all that's going on at any given time. If you're in the mood for a fun and well made strategic experience of a less hardcore nature, this is the game for you.

It's a shame that Overlord: Dark Legend is riddled with bugs and performance issues. If you look beyond these shortcomings you'll actually find a really enjoyable adventure with lots of evil and playful charm. But the various issues coupled with the short lifespan means this game is best suited for the younger audience at best.

To grade a game like this is as difficult as it is irrelevant. The appeal of this game is solely based upon you personal preferences in games. If you're into fast paced action games this not a title for you. If you're into intricate battles and spending obscene amounts of hours collecting loot this is definitely well spent money on your behalf. Played solo this is passable but when played in multiplayer with friends this is as close to a portable MMO as you'll get.

Fans of the Ghostbusters movies from the 80's will be happy to know that this videogame adaptation has managed to capture the charming and geeky atmosphere found in the silver screen source material. Once you've acquired enough weapons and upgrades the gameplay becomes really entertaining and you'll also find a multiplayer mode that acts as entertaining bonus material, at least for a little while. Annoying flaws, such as grotesquely long loading sequences and sudden inexplicable deaths, do hamper an otherwise great experience well worth checking out.

In striving to be unique, this title actually manages to loose itself in the attempt. The puzzles are repetitive and the sense of progress is often lost in all the "unique" features of the game. There are better games in the genre available on the DS.

MySims Racing is a typical kart racer you've gotten to know and love(?) on Nintendo consoles - oddly shaped characters, colorful environments and boxes filled with weapons is what's offered on the menu. Some portions of the game is better than the genre behemoth Mario Kart but overall this is a lesser game. This is a competent alternative to the Nintendo franchise but if you're still enjoying your Mario Kart sessions there isn't all that much news or innovation to be found here.

Seen as an entry level RTS, Lego Battles is a great game. It teaches the basics of resource management well and it never really becomes to complicated or stressful. This unfortunately also means that it won't peak your interest for long. After a while it will become overly simplified for anyone who's ever played strategy games before.
