Fuse may have polished mechanics but that doesn’t change the fact that this is one of the most generic, anonymous and boring action games that has been released in the last few years. The “creative” weapons feel like an afterthought and the co-op is repetitive and dull. Playing Fuse alone is the definition of pointless.

It is not too shabby to be a major. Animal Crossing New Leaf continues the series tradition of being as charming as it is relaxing. The repetitive nature of the tasks in the game has an allure that somehow never gets old. Fans will of course feel right at home and welcome the occasional tweaks and news the game has to offer. It’s just too bad that New Leaf while being a game with lots of content still offers very few surprises.

Hotline Miami is ludological entertainment at its finest. It is a game about grinding levels and that practice makes perfect. It is also a game about exploring new narratives and discussing the video game worlds fascination with violence and gore. A must play.

Deadpool is an action game that tries very hard to make fun of the game medium. Sometimes it is very funny while other times it is not. Gameplay-wise Deadpool manages to be pretty standard stuff but it is rather evident that it should’ve needed more time in development.

Thunder Wolves is a fresh breath of air in a rather boring genre. With it’s nostalgic flirtation the game doesn’t make a big deal of being over the top, silly or corny. And even though the length is rather short Thunder Wolves delivers an experience of pure joy in a way more action games should dare to do.

The 16 mini games included in Game & Wario wants to show of what the Wii U controller is capable of. For the most part it doesn’t really work. There are some bright spots but for the most part the mini games feel rather familiar. That said Game & Wario is still entertaining, humorous and wacky. But it is not in any way a revolution.

The new version of Magic manages to capture the essence of its analogue original. Fast paced battles with plenty of room for strategy and modifications of your deck. Too bad it is not as mechanically deep or varied to work as a full-blown substitute. Still strongly recommended for beginners.

By telling five different shorter stories Talltale manages to accelerate the pace of the The Walking Dead series. It has its complications but mostly feels fresh and exciting. 400 Days may not be as well written or as emotionally resonant as the episodes in season one but as an appetizer for the upcoming second season it works very well.

MotoGP 13 is a racing game in the vein of realism. Finishing a race is itself a great challenge and winning even more so. The challenge along with a superb driving feel creates a game of great rewards and enjoyment. Even though the lack of content is surprising MotoGP will still give great entertainment for simulator junkies and racing fans.

Due to a slow start, forced puzzle moments and a crude visual surface Mario & Luigi: Dream Team doesn’t hold up to the predecessors high standards. It is in no way a bad game, but more should be expected from Alpha Dream and Nintendo.

The improvements in Toki Tori 2+ makes it the best version of the sequel to the old platform puzzler. The mechanics are simple yet elegant and the puzzles are cleverly constructed. Unfortunately it is rather easy to get stuck and the player is often left with too little information as to what to do.

Brave New World is without a doubt the best expansion to Civilization V. The core gameplay modes and win states has received great and well needed updates which gives a more varied and balanced experience. Of course there is still some dead air during the game sessions but the new content will disappoint no one. Even if it is three years old Civilization V is with this expansion still one of the best ways to combine entertainment with education.

Oknytt is a game that manages to capture well the feeling of a classic Nordic fairy tale. It creates an atmosphere that almost feels like walking around in a John Bauer painting. Too bad the puzzles is somewhat unimaginative even though the system with the four elements is rather interesting. Oknytt is worth playing for fans of the adventure genre even if it’s nothing extraordinary.

In its finest moments Stealth Inc is one the best games in the stealth genre. Unfortunately the level design is sometimes lacking and towards the end the game it becomes more about frustration than about entertainment. With all things considered it's worth a closer look if you are connoisseur of the sneaking genre.

Dynasty Warriors 8 is kind of like eating the same cake over and over. The taste is good with nice consistency, but eventually you will get tired of it. Little has changed since the last part in the series and new ideas is desperately needed. Recommended only for those who never can get enough of the one monotonous thing Dynasty Warriors continues to provide.

Even if the contents of New Super Luigi U reminds you of the original game that is really not a problem. This expansion is filled with great new material in the form of challenging and well designed levels and the simple yet game changing Luigi controls. A must own for all fans of platform games.

Shadowrun Returns will probably please most fans if perhaps not blow anyone out of the water. The campaign is well written and serves as a good introduction for new players. The variety in combat and character creation and dialogue options is great but suffers from a badly implemented autosave system. With lots of new campaigns on the horizon Shadowrun Returns is well worth keeping an eye on.

Pikmin 3 manages to combine stressful strategy with relaxing environments and cute creatures. The game is a great example of the Wii U:s capability of making improvements to existing gameplay formulas. Pikmin 3 is charming, stressful, cozy and challenging.

As with earlier Worms games Worms Clan Wars is at its best when you play it with others. Alone the computer controlled players are way too slow and stupid to make things interesting. The campaign makes an alright introduction to the games new mechanics and elements, but as with older titles the games lifespan is a bit too much in the hands of its online community.

Duck Tales Remastered is for the most part very much like the original. The graphics have been updated and so has the audio quality. The controls and level design are still the same which is both positive as well as negative. They hold up somewhat but feel mostly old and trite. Which makes Duck Tales Remastered a game foremost for those nostalgic and prepared for a lot of frustration.

Guacamelee is a very good mix of action and platform game in the vein of classical metroidvanias. The Mexican luchador theme is charming, the pacing is great and the combat and puzzles are challenging without being frustrating. An absolute must for fans of the sub-genre.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons invites you to a classic fairy tale, with two brothers searching for the cure to their fathers illness. The story is somewhat too mundane to reach emotional depth, even if it still is a nice one. The best part of the game is instead the mechanics of controlling both brothers with different analog sticks.

The fourth part in the Saints Row saga is an outrageous, silly and incredibly entertaining adventure. The days of Grand Theft Auto is since long gone and the game reminds you rather of the super hero games Crackdown and Infamous. An unexpected but welcome change.

Papers, Please manages to be both unique and creative. Often times thoughtful, stressful and comical it creates a thick atmosphere with both story and gameplay. Easily one of the best downloadable games of 2013.

With Tales of Xillia Namco is content with slowly but safely improving the Tales series. Tales of Xillia is more polished than ever but at the same time the rest of the RPG genre has passed the Tales series. New material is scarce and the story poorly written. But the anime graphics continues to be astonishing if a bit uneven and the fighting system is arguably the best in the series.

The Payday series has the potential of becoming a huge multiplayer franchise if they had a better online function and support for mods. With Payday 2 the developer Overkill takes another step towards the goal of online domination and delivers one of this years best co-op games. Unfortunately the low budget is rather noticeable.

Suda 51s latest piece manages to be both predictable and hollow. As an action game it is unfinished and poorly built and as an art game it only manages to shallow posing. The graphics may be beautiful and the soundtrack even more so, but that is not enough to make Killer is Dead worth your time.

With Rayman Origins Ubisoft showed the world that they could develop gorgeous platform levels for multiple players. Rayman Legends moves forward and is a platform game that also works as well for the single player. The level design is great, largely varied and the game includes lots of stuff to do. Rayman Legends is the best platformer in a long time and one of this years best games so far.

Killzone Mercenary is a technical masterpiece that also includes several original ideas for the series. The controls are sharp and the online component is promising. The fact that the artificial intelligence is quite bad and the campaign is rather short is easily compensated. For the foreseeable future Killzone Mercenary will constitute the absolute top of portable action games.

No battles, puzzles or magnificent vistas. And still Gone Home is nothing short of an amazing experience. It’s one of the finest games ever to use exploration and discovery as storytelling. It may be short but it is a story that will stay with you forever.

A sandbox game made in Lego. There's a lot of humor in this game, coupled with tons of content and a smart use of costumes. Recommended for Lego fans, regardless of age.

A good sequel that improves upon the original and does most things right. Sadly a couple of misses such as lack of checkpoints and clunky controls stands in the way of a higher grade.

Massive and difficult, but rewarding for those who endure to master it. It's a bit more streamlined than its predecessors, but apart from that not much has changed. A bit too repetitive for its own good.

Castlevania's debut on Nintendo 3DS does a lot of things different. With big changes to the combat system, 3D graphics and heavily reduced exploration, hardcore fans of the series might be disappointed. For someone who just wants a different action adventure it's not a bad game though.

Bioshock Infinite is indeed a very good game, mostly because of its narrative and atmosphere. It offers a well written story in a living and interesting gameworld with believable characters. The only downside is the action scenes, which are both too frequent and feel somewhat unsubstantial.

Level 5's highly anticipated collaboration with Studio Ghibli is just as great as it looks. And it looks great. The art style is exactly what you'd expect from Studio Ghibli, and the same goes for the music. Battles are fought with familiars, that you collect and train throughout the game. It's not a revolution, but it does almost everything right.

Even with a few improvements such as additional weapons and more challenging enemies, the Wii U edition of Ninja Gaiden 3 still falls short. Questionable level design, a confusing storyline and strangely balanced difficulty levels are all examples of things that is wrong with this game. With that said, it's better than the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions and can be pretty fun at times.

Ninja Theory are calling the DMC shots now and they're doing it well. The fighting mechanics are a little bit easier to master and perhaps not as deep as before, but on the other hand the storytelling is improved with skillfully crafted cutscenes. Put up with a rather dull introduction and you're in for a great game.

Monotonous, stupid and downright ugly. But all drawbacks asides, EDF 2012 succeeds in one thing - it's amazingly fun. There's an unmistakable feeling of panic at all time, and players needs to keep moving while thinking strategically. A bit to pricy though.

With the third entry of the Dead Space series, Visceral Games goes in another direction than before. Horror elements makes space for pure action with the introduction of co-op, open landscapes and cover based shooting. As an action game it's pretty good but it's still the worst game in the trilogy.

A different experience with a heavy atmosphere, both beautiful and a little scary. Hardly more than an hour long, but still it manages to convey more than most games does in ten hours.

Even after more than seven years in development, Aliens: Colonial Marines results in a cavalcade of shattered dreams and lost potential. Almost every element is either broken, boring or badly designed and the once fearsome Xenomorphs are now reduced to mindless cannon fodder. To put it simply; it's a terrible game.

An action game in a sandbox. As usual, the Nanosuit allows for interesting gameplay dynamics where both stealth and all out action are good approaches. There are also some interesting online game modes that makes good use of the Nanosuit's abilities.

As an action game it's fantastic, especially the well integrated "Blade Mode" in which the protagonist Raiden can precision cut his foes. The script is kind of lacking though, and environments are often reused. Fantastic, but not perfect.

Three boards, each with it's own Star Wars related theme. The Episode V: Empire Strikes Back became a clear favorite with a lot of hidden content. Sure there is room for improvement here and there but this is about as good as a Star Wars pinball could ever be.

Resident Evil takes another step towards the action genre, and by doing so loses even more of the atmosphere from the beginning of the series. It's an ok action game, but the lack of focus is the real problem. Probably not for fans of the first games.

Return to Albion in the most ambitious Kinect game to date. The environment, the design and the voice acting is really good. But once again, Kinect as a controller stands in the way of fun, by being way too imprecise.

Dreamlike and brilliantly white, until you give the world color. The Unfinished Swan is visually breathtaking and the story it tells, presented as a children's tale, invites to reflection.

A puzzle game in a noir setting that sadly turns out pretty bad. The characters are flat and without personality, there's a lot of trial and error puzzles and the story is nowhere near interesting.

Sherlock Holmes himself becomes the suspect in a murder investigation. Some moments, the crime scene investigations for example, are really fun, but for the most part it's a pretty bland game with a low budget feeling.

Thanks to the variety of abilities and phenomenal level design, you can in many ways tackle Dishonored as you feel fit. It's a bit impersonal at times, but most elements of the game work really well.

Take control of well known Transformers and battle your foes both as robot and vehicle. There are some problems with bugs and the controls, but apart from that it's a fast paced and action filled game. If you're a fan of Transformers then this is a must buy.

After a couple of slow hours in the beginning, Borderlands 2 starts for real. It's filled to the brim with guns and humor, complete with co-op, classes, skill trees and DLC on the horizon. This is a game that will keep you occupied for a long time.

A real killer app for the Vita, with tons of cozy charm. The campaign is great and the game makes good use of the Vita's touch controls. There is a lot of user created material too, thanks to the great level editor.

The apocalypse has come and only animals remain. Choose one of many different animal races to hunt, breed and survive. There is a ton of unlockables, but the gameplay feels unpolished and gets repetitive after a while.

A point and click adventure with a nice art style and good voice acting. Though it's a bit too slow and many puzzles are illogical and far-fetched.

Even though Tales of Graces F doesn't deliver anything new to the genre, it conveys a nostalgic experience with its high recognition value.

A Japanese rpg from Germany. Even with a couple of flaws, this game is a real treat. It's charming and the battles are challenging.
