With the game's mix of a hugely interactive open world, a compelling setting, and a finely tuned combat system, I'm eager to return to delve even further into the Animus.

Assassin's Creed III is unavoidably, inescapably epic.

Freerunning has taken on new life with Connor's ability to flit through the trees, and the new weapons hem nicely into the freedom and wealth of options of the series...I can personally guarantee it'll see the top of many Game of the Year lists, perhaps even our own – Assassin's Creed III is a masterpiece.

A great continuation of the Assassin's Creed series because of the strong visuals, gameplay and story. Though it must be said that the story gets somewhat boring towards the end, which leaves a sour taste.

A gargantuan, lavish historical epic that pushes PS3 to its limits, only to be led down by linear missions and a clunky interface. [Christmas 2012, p.82]

Generally, Assassin's Creed III delivers most of the things that fans want. It's a fresh new setting wrapped around the familiar core mechanics. We've lost the less engaging elements that they experimented with in Revelations while adding a couple of new tricks to the range of gameplay.

The Assassin’s Creed formula of fighting and parkour is starting to get old, even with the ability to climb trees now. Maybe it’s the repetitiveness of the series, or maybe it’s just less interesting to toss crates of tea into the harbour than to hunt and kill corrupt bishops.

It however turned out to be an epic failure as far as giving a satisfying conclusion.

Story and protagonist: Boring, frustrating and even lazy considering this is the 5th game in the series. Connor is downright childish and unlikable as a character, and spits on the legacy of Ezio just by wearing that hood.
Graphics: Pretty darn good actually. A big step up from previous entries. However somehow hands and some animations actually look worse.
Technical: This game is pretty much where it all started to go downhill for Ubisoft Q&A. There were multiple bugs, some even game breaking like the giant bear mission.
Gameplay: Fighting looks darn cool and ferocious, but the game still seems to suffer from clumsy climbing mechanics and odd actions when simple walking over simple objects.

In Summary, this game seemed to do the bare minimum when it comes to delivering an conclusion to years of AC games. It has enough shining moments to prevent it from being a failure, but it hangs by a thread. I rate this an average game, which earns it a 6/10.

I'll keep it simple. This game has ended the franchise for me. Played them all and only sold Revelations because it was quite pointless. ThisI'll keep it simple. This game has ended the franchise for me. Played them all and only sold Revelations because it was quite pointless. This one is as low as it can get for fans who hope to actually play a game centered on assassinations. The first AC is miles better than this. Keep in mind that the series creator as long been fired by Ubisoft. Surprise, surprise. Keep your pirates, the milking has to stop. Expand
