    The game is addictive and a lot of fun. What the Wii U offers over and above the others is that you can play it both on the TV or solely on the gamepad.

    If you already own it, I wouldn’t recommend picking this up even if you are fancying a second playthrough and own it elsewhere (why waste the money on a game you already have?) but for first timers, go for it. It’s fun, well made, and hopefully if it does well, we’ll see some sequels set in their weird post-human no-electricity world.

    Minor annoyances - more noticeable after four ports of the game - prevent the game from ever reaching indie perfection, but this is an experience not to be missed.

    Even without offering a reason for veteran players to return, SteamWorld Dig for Wii U is a great opportunity for those that still haven't experienced this good game from Image & Form.

But as I went further into the game, I grabbed some upgrades and traversed some well-designed platforming sections, and it felt really nice. Quite a short game if you're just looking to finish it, and not too much longer if you aim to find every secret and mineral there is. But SteamWorld Dig is still a pretty good game. Definitely worth a purchase if you like to explore and have a bit of platforming action.… Expand
