Perhaps my biggest takeaway from Wild Hearts is that I didn’t once find myself lamenting for Monster Hunter. Wild Hearts was perhaps a risky endeavour, but it’s one that’s paid off with impressive results. While genre newcomers can treat the land of Azuma as a gateway to monster hunting, long-standing genre fans will find plenty here to keep them happy until the next Monster Hunter adventure arrives.

What sets this game apart is such a captivating and detailed story that is intelligently written, well presented and delivered with light-hearted comical imagery (and occasional unacknowledged thievery). For the most part I loved/am loving the expansion with the only issue I have being a pretty major one. At the point of writing this, I was quite happily playing along and have had the game crash twice, the first I was able to escape from by using a bit of Alt Tabbery… but the second time that would not release me from the game, no crash report, nothing. Control Alt Del did very little but by using the windows key I was able to bring up the start menu and though I couldn’t do much there I was able to restart the computer. I’m not currently keen to jump back in, preferring to wait to see if there’s a patch, but I would love to continue playing in the world of Control and that’s testament to the game world Remedy have created. If you share my love for the game world, the story, the whole feel for Control then I’m sure you will want to get The Foundation!

I’m always keen to dive into an RPG, and open-world RPGs provide a satisfying level of freedom. However, if the storytelling isn’t there, interest can fade quickly. Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon doesn’t just hold that interest; it keeps piquing it. When you build your world upon an established legend, it can be tempting to let the existing elements do all the heavy lifting. Here, that legend is simply the starting point and helps color the world, but the new lore is what truly brings it to life! Sparring 15-20 minutes here and there is all that’s required for a steady progression through the game but still very enjoyable if you’ve got ample time up your sleeve as well. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys easter egg styled dad jokes or wants something oddly rewarding to play at a casual pace.

With next generation graphics, brilliant gameplay and a story that actually makes you care, Red Faction: Guerrilla is an almost perfect game that takes us back to those classic games of the 90’s, however with modern soul and essence.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, it gives the gamer a classical gaming experience with a 21st century feel and play. Sure there are a few frustrating moments in the game but in what game isn't?

If you're one of those people who think that holding out for a few years until FIFA gets better and better is a good idea, stop right now. Get out of your homes and buy FIFA 13. It's an amazing experience that must be played at least once by every soccer fan. Everything you love from recent versions is bigger and better, from the look and the feel to the sound and the content; it's easily one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I've ever had, and I'm sure it'll be for you to.

I timed it and it takes about a minute and a half of load time when you move from one area to the next. Like I said before though this is a stretch because each area is so large that you don’t mind because you spend so much time in the area it is worth it.

After completing Portal 2, it's great that Valve have continued on their original premise because this is the perfect game for those gamers caught in the doldrums of endless first person shooters, racers and sport games. Originality is the key here and Valve have succeeded on just about every surreal and cerebral level with its puzzles.

I thoroughly enjoyed A Plague Tale: Innocence from start to finish and cannot fault this title at all. While the gameplay is fluid that is accompanied by excellent graphics and audio, where A Plague Tale – Innocence shines is with its characters and the way it tells their story. So if you’re upset at how Game of Thrones ended and need a story that is told correctly, A Plague Tale – Innocence does that flawlessly.

So here we are again with another instalment from the Far Cry universe that definitely goes beyond the previous games. With a relatable protagonist, a story that truly draws you in from the very first moments of the game, Far Cry 3 also contains a very sturdy game engine that almost makes it the perfect game. It just flows so well from the first to the last level... and the vehicles are just awesome.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is without a doubt the best version of this classic JRPG. The diorama graphics look phenomenal, the new features save you time without losing out on the game’s identity, and the Switch 2 makes everything run smoothly. Some completionists might not like how much content was cut, but these changes turn a hard-to-finish epic into an adventure new players can actually complete. If you gave up on the PS1 or 3DS versions, Reimagined clears almost every obstacle between you and one of the series’ best stories.

Conclusively the game is fun and addictive when running smoothly, I can find myself wasting many hours on relatively even level combat knowing that everyone starting out, starts as barren and defenseless as I. A stable frame rate would to wonders to improve the quality of gameplay as many gamers I know share my opinion of smooth gameplay is better than high end graphics, at the moment though, PUBG on Xbox One isn’t providing either.
