When a game has a perfect level design, an almost perfect character design and a fantastic narrative with an amazing atmosphere it results in one of the most fascinating games I've played in recent years. And that game is called Inside.

Overwatch is the perfect game to spend an hour with and to play a couple of matches before you do something else. And then you'll come back to it, again and again.

Forza Horizon 3 is an evolution of the earlier games in the series. The graphics are better and these might be the best controls in a driving game I've ever come across. Overall, this is a fantastic experience.

Steamworld Heist kept me engaged during the 17 hours it took for me to finish the game. It has pretty deep game mechanics and a very entertaining design. I look forward to more games in this universe.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a fantastic adventure game with strong characters, beautiful enviroments and exciting missions.

Civilization VI improves on the earlier games in the series in pretty much every way possible. To conquer the world has never been more fun.

Everything in Legion is done for the better. If you've been thinking of returning to Azeroth, you should now. Legion is the best reason that's happened to World of Warcraft for many years.

Owlboy is one of this years biggest surprises. It's a fantastic game, with beautiful graphics and amazing music.

XCOM 2 will drive you mad with its challenging gameplay, but don't give up - this is a well designed and entertaining experience.

Dice has created their best game so far, and the result is the greatest war game ever.

Pokémon Moon is a charming adventure game, and should appeal to both new comers and returning fans.

Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest is a great strategy RPG, with an interesting and engaging combat design that challenges and rewards the players.

Respawn Entertainment presents a wonderful single player campaign in Titanfall 2 while they continue to evolve the multiplayer from the first game. I recommend that everyone should play Titanfall 2.

Dishonored 2 improves on everything the first game did and makes it better. I promise that you won't be disappointed in what Arkane Studios has created here.

Final Fantasy XV might not give you the same experience as when you played Final Fantasy VII in the 90's, but it takes you on a journey that succeeds in delivering the atmosphere you want from the series. Final Fantasy is officially back.

Bravely Second is an old school roleplaying game, done in a modern way.

Obsidian Entertainment has created another fantastic RPG, with a well told storyline and great replay value. Tyranny is brilliant.

Football Manager 2017 doesn't reinvent itself with this years version of the game. Not that it really needed to, but there's few surprises here.

Tokyo Mirrage Sessions #FE is one of the biggest surprises for me this year. If you want a fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously and have a Wii U, do not miss this.

Read Only Memories is a very well written and entertaining cyberpunk adventure that does a great job with seamless inclusion of LGBT characters. A text adventure that should be played by all fans of the genre.

Bioshock: The Collection is essential if you never played these games. For those who have, there's little new to find here.

Ubisoft Massive delivers an exciting experience that everyone should play - alone or together with a group of other players. The story is ok. Graphics and sound are world class. The controls have some flaws but nothing that bothers you for more than short periods.

Skylanders Imaginators is another good game in this toys-to-life genre. My children thinks it's the best Skylanders game in a long while.

Edge Case Games has created something pretty unique with Fractured Space while using a well known game design. The attention to detail in the strategic system and graphical presentation heightens the overall experience.

I like the intensity of the combat, the visual design in the game and its faithfullness to Narutos story and universe, but it doesn’t hold my interest for more than an hour at a time.

Pac-Man 256 is an addicting variation on Tōru Iwatani's legacy, updated for the 2010's. One should ask though if Playstation 4 is the best platform for it: sometimes it feels like you're playing a glorified mobile game (perhaps because it is.) Despite the repetitive gameplay - it's modelled after a game from 1980 after all - it's something I often return to and gladly play over and over again. It might even be better than the original, when I think about it.

Alienation is a entertaining experience, with lots of action, beautiful effects and lots of polish. But Housemarque should have included couch co-op at the launch of the game.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is yet another solid Lego game that uses the same formula we've come to know over the years.

Time hasn't been kind to Heavy Rain. Parts of it are still exciting, but we really didn’t need a remaster of this game.

Amnesia Collection gives you a reason to turn on all the lights in your house and look at cute pictures of kittens on social media more than once during a playthrough of these horror games.

Offworld Trading Company feels like a crossover between Anno 2205 and Civilization V. This is a very competent strategy game for fans of the genre.

Jotun: Valhalla Edition is a pretty unique experience with its blend of exploration and boss fights in a beautifully presented world.

Disney Art Academy's biggest charm, in contrast to earlier parts in the series, is its familiar characters. It's actually more fun to learn how to perfectly depict Mickey Mouse's ears rather than painting some boring still lifes. There's much they could have done better, more layers and less story for example, but all in all it's a software that's perfect for the beginner whose dream is to become the next Carl Barks or perhaps a way for parents to get their kids interested in creating art.

I want to love Bound - the game has many great qualities and it's very creative - but a lot of the ideas don't come together in the gameplay.

When Mirror's Edge released back in 2008, it felt like a polished technology demo. Mirror's Edge Catalyst promised to be much more than that, but it doesn't live up to all of those promises. There's still a good game here and something for everyone who fell in love with the original.

Star Fox Zero isn't a bad game - far from it - but it doesn't provide anything new of value to the franchise and it's not as good as the earlier games in the series.

Battleborn offers a seven hour long campaign that feels pretty weak, but the multiplayer is fun and there's lots of loot. Like many other games in this genre, Battleborn works best when you're playing together with friends.

Mario Party: Star Rush is best played in the company of others, but it's far from the best game in this series.

WRC 6 is competing with the likes of Dirt Rally, and in that race WRC 6 comes up short. It's a fun game, but it doesn't stand out in the market.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter is an amazing experience, that takes this series further than on the last generation of consoles. The game presents interesting cases with lots of variation, both in atmosphere and game design.

What was supposed to be a fun ride, turned out to be a huge disappointment. The awful presentation, physics and controls makes me wish that Microsoft will announce a HD-remaster of Motocross Madness at E3 this year. Anything but this.

Party Hard is a unique experience. The game blends humour and ultraviolence with stealth and a high difficulty level. Party Hard might actually be too hard for its own good.

There's some fun in Metroid Prime: Federation Force as long as you're playing together with others, but if you're looking for a deep single-player experience you won't find it here.

Shadow of the Beast is a respectful re-imagining of the Amiga classic from 1989. The combat in the game is fun, it has a nice presentation throughout and an interesting narrative design.

Dying Light is a better game, but it was Dead Island that started it all. If you want to take a vacation on a tropical Island during a zombie invasion, this is the game for you.
