Koei didn't change a thing to the Dynasty formula, and it's a shame. It's also unacceptable that the game still suffers from the same technical issues that were already known. This episode is supposed to give a tactical dimension to the series, but it doesn't really gain any gameplay depth.

This first episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 is not fantastic but quite efficient. Playing with groups of two characters is nice, the atmosphere is as dark as we expected... Well, it does the job and makes us impatient to play the rest of the game in the next episode.

The Order: 1886 is a good game and a great interactive movie. Not revolutionary in terms of gameplay, it offers fantastic art direction, good storytelling and, more generally, a true sense of elegance. It just lacks a bit of substance and some unforgettable scenes to make it a great game.

Without magic, Shantae is even more charming than ever, and transforms this pirate's curse into a blessing. Visually stunning, taking advantage of an amazing soundtrack, Harold feels like Heaven to watch. And the 12 tracks from this 2D runner are perfectly tailored, feel unique and demand a lot of reflexion and reflex actions that hardcore - or really stubborn - gamers will fully enjoy. For people who don't have time to face its progressive but unforgivable difficulty and don't see themselves fighting for a good rank on leaderboards, it will probably feel like Hell. Still, this unique game will definitely reward perseverance.

Castle in the Darkness seems to have the best from the 8bit era. It's good-looking, plays fine, it has many bosses and secrets that people who loved playing this kind of games on NES will love. But it's also flawed by an erratic difficulty. There are too many instadeath spikes, sometimes impossible to notice, and checkpoints are sometimes really misplaced. Still an enjoyable action platformer that will probably not please everyone looking for a simple nostalgic trip.

It looks like a game for children but it definitely presents a challenge for adults. Very well conceived, not really merciful and full of crafting ideas that makes us genuinely surprised, The Escapist suffers a bit from redundancy and a lack of storytelling.
