After such a long time away from the green, Mario's clubs could have been rusty. At first indeed, it seems this comeback only relies on the same proven physics engine and subtle gameplay. The swing technique didn't change at all, even with the alternative method intuitively based on touch. But rather than pursuing realism, Mario Golf : World Tour expresses its arcadish approach in an audacious way, through a cartoonish world filled with interactive elements from the Mushroom Kingdom and the addition of power-ups. This arsenal is ingeniously exploited by the courses design, driving golf to a new dimension liberated from the laws of gravity.
