Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is not a bad experience, but it will for sure divide the fans. It seems like the studio had several good ideas, but that once assembled they did not make a good Final Fantasy game. This episode tried to convince the players by offering an open world and a certain freedom of action, but it fails in terms of storytelling. It is applied not only to the tone through a desolate world, but also to the gameplay mechanics. Although such experiments give more freedom to explore the environment and develop new puzzles, they are too limited and, therefore, overshadowed by the unbridled evolution of the arsenal.
