Shadow Warrior on PS4 is a brilliant homage to what make the 90's video gaming world so entertaining!

Shadow Warrior is a game that you simply must own, because it represents a by gone era where videogames didn’t take themselves at all seriously. And we all need a bit of fun in our lives.

Shadow Warrior is a great game full with blood, gore and a lot of one-liners. It has some great action, but the implementation of the touch pad on the PlayStation 4 doesn't work well and a little bit more of variation wouldn't kill.

As a smarter-than-it-looks nostalgia trip, then, Shadow Warrior delivers, and as long as you keep that in mind - and consume it in moderation - it's an easy recommendation.

Shadow Warrior is an entertaining game, perhaps limited in it's technical possibilities, but perfect to have a great time listening bad jokes, tearing apart demon limbs with a katana and shooting around. Pretty straightforward. It won't give you anything new, but it won't disappoint you.

Shadow Warrior is a good shooter that stands out for its humor and fast-paced action, and that's enough to satisfy fans of FPS until something more substantial.

Shadow Warrior is more than just puerile jokes and demons – there are some quite interesting technical faults in there as well. The personality of the game is enough to recommend to those that enjoy old-school shooters, but it comes with a warning: Wang should probably be taken in small doses.

I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun playing a game! Crazy weapons, insane combos and lots of enemies - 10 out of 10 game for me, love it

A time when it didn't matter if the game had a good story or if the developers hired Kevin Spacey as a character or if the game has amazing cut scene visuals, all what matter is killing hoards of bad guys with an awesome arsenal. It's has good graphics, classic game play and a SAMURAI SWORD. It's cheap go buy it. Expand

Not sure why the rating is a 70, since this game is basically an old school shooter, with cutscenes.

Not sure why the rating is a 70, since this game is basically an old school shooter, with cutscenes.

The story is fun, the combat is fun and mostly everything about this game is fun. The humor is a little bland, but doesn't really hurt the game at all.

If you are considering buying this game, I'd give my full recommendations.

A solid FPS reboot of the old DOS game let down by ill-conceived touchpad controls, poor boss battles, messy narrative and awful level design.A solid FPS reboot of the old DOS game let down by ill-conceived touchpad controls, poor boss battles, messy narrative and awful level design.
I did actually really enjoy the pure "fun factor" and did endeavor to replay it, but realized that whilst fun its incredibly repetitive and shallow.
The guns and gore are great, and the swordplay is fantastic fun.
It served its purpose as 12 hours of entertainment, if you've got nothing else to play and want to blast through an above average shooter give it a rip.

It offers an old school feeling, fun sword combat, and a variety of guns that'll have a blast shooting demons to bits with. With a $40 price tag, you can't go wrong. If you like 3D realms humor, you need to play this just for that. The graphics aren't great, but they are good. The game is a little long, some parts feeling stretched out.. but that's a good thing in hindsight. As it gives you even more bang for your buck. Add that with searching for all the secrets and running new game +, what you have is a fairly good game. Not great. But good. Expand

The game proper? 7/10 The developer and publisher? Big fat 0/10.
There is a bug on PS4 where if you have too many friends in your Friends list (I think over 100?) the game will crash unless you stay signed out of PSN when you launch it and the whole time you are playing. I have sent countless e-mails, tweets, and Facebook posts to the developers and publishers but they have made clear they are simply "not interested" in fixing this massive bug in both the retail and digital copies because "few people" are affected. Yeah right! New posts pop up on Facebook all the time with people having this same problem. I even told them its related to the friends list and how someone deleted all their friends to fix the issue. And how my alt account with 0 friends doesn't have the issue. But they still have no interest in fixing it. So, I have no interest in buying any more of their games or in giving them a fair review. SHAME ON YOU Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog. SHAME ON YOU.
