    Despite being heralded as one of the more underrated games in the Mega Man franchise, Capcom did absolutely everything in its power to showcase the best version of the Star Force trilogy, and it shows. From added quality-of-life features, restored content, and adjusted gameplay mechanics from the old touch-screen only controls, on top of how great these games already were, they have delivered their arguably best remaster collection to date.

    With its immersive visuals, fantastic audio, and surprisingly low price, AI LIMIT is an easy recommendation despite a few rough spots. It throws you into a bleak, tragic world where the struggles of its inhabitants take center stage long before your own story unfolds. Its stamina-free combat adds a fresh twist to the souls-like formula, though some mechanics—stealth in particular—could use serious improvement.

    It’s hard not to feel conflicted about Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, because while it plays smoother and looks cleaner, many of its story changes and cut content weaken what originally worked. The remake still has solid moments, especially with Dad Kiryu, but combat, pacing, and Dark Ties often feel shallow or stretched out. It’s not a bad time, just a messy step forward that doesn’t fully honor what makes the Yakuza series work.

    Super Robot Wars Y is a crossover that works more often than it doesn’t. It thrives less on its tactical RPG mechanics and more on the joy of watching decades of mecha anime crash together in one giant spectacle. The story is good if a little dry in its delivery, but the crossover event and battle animations more than make up for it. For every stretch of jargon-filled dialogue I zoned out to, there was an explosive robot finisher waiting to pull me right back in. It’s a little uneven, but it never stopped being fun.

    I’ve played more Touhou fangames than I can count, and Marisa of Liartop Mountain still stands out as one of the best in years. Its runtime may be short and its navigation a little frustrating, but the stunning visuals, immersive voice work, evolving gameplay, and surprisingly deep themes make it unforgettable. If you’re already a Touhou fan, passing on this one would be a huge mistake.

    More than twenty years later, the Switch re-release of Pokémon FireRed arrives keeping everything intact, even its more frustrating quirks. It doesn’t have the smoother systems and quality-of-life updates found in newer entries, and I wish there were more tweaks to its gameplay and presentation on modern hardware, but the journey through the routes of Kanto remains as structurally sound and addictive as it was when we were playing it on our 32-bit handhelds.

    NTE is a game that feels like it’s constantly pulling you in different directions, yet somehow still holds together as a cohesive experience. It wants to be a gacha RPG, a city life simulator, a driving game, a management sandbox, and a narrative-driven anomaly hunter all at once. And instead of collapsing under that weight, it actually becomes a strong foundation to support how its systems interact and flow with each other. Of course, that ambition isn’t perfectly refined yet. Some systems still lean a bit too simple and story pacing can break immersion when level locks interrupt momentum. But even with those rough edges, the important part is that NTE never feels aimless. It commits to what it is trying to be—a multi-layered city RPG where everyday life and anomaly-driven chaos coexist.

    Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a bona fide Soulslike that has deep combat mechanics and unique progression systems that synergize perfectly to create one of more satisfying gameplay loops in the genre. This is further reinforced by giving the player the power to freely experiment with builds and create their own unique way to play. There are some nitpicks here and there, as well as the difficulty spiking in certain areas, but all that is moot with how well packaged everything is.

    All Will Fall proves that being hyperbolic isn’t the play when it comes to showing off your game.     Escape from Tarkov's world is unforgiving, and is definitely not for casual play. Yet, its the challenge and engaging gameplay that makes it all the better. It's still weighed down by bugs and glitches and connection issues here and there, as well as the disappointing lack of (free) PvE, but it's a solid FPS extraction game for those looking for an extra hard challenge.

While it retains the compelling dystopian premise and addictive combat that made the original standout back in 2014, it also carries over some of its shortcomings. The narrative brims with potential, yet falls short in its execution. The visual design is imaginative, but can’t break free of its Vita-era origins. For returning fans, it’s a nostalgic trip worth taking, with the same-old addictive gameplay and just enough improvements to feel fresh. For newcomers, it’s a more challenging sell; its dated structure and design may not resonate with players as strongly today. But in spite of its flaws, Freedom Wars Remastered is a welcome effort to keep its unique world alive, and it leaves hope for a future that will fully realize the potential of its setting.
