Jun 9, 2025Although the fishing mechanics don't change much over the course of the game, I didn't find it a grind. The challenge of catching each and every type of fish, as well as slowly building the town to its former glory kept the game as fresh as Baelin's catch. The comedic dialogue and the pop culture references just add the experience. Nice Day for Fishing is a simple game with a simple premise - one that will keep players entertained for many hours.

May 28, 2025Nice Day For Fishing is perfect for a short time, but it's too shallow to keep you hooked for more than three evenings.

Jul 9, 2025Nice Day for Fishing is a game with a charmingly absurd premise, surprisingly fun fishing-based combat, and a world that feels handcrafted for laughs and lighthearted discovery. But while the first impression is strong, the pacing falters. Progression can feel like a slow trudge, with repetitive quests and a late-arriving fast travel system that adds unnecessary friction. It’s delightful in bursts, but not consistently engaging throughout.

Jul 3, 2025Nice Day for Fishing is a great mixture of humor, adventure, and chill vibes. If the player is a fan of Viva La Dirt League, there’s also many easter eggs and references to enjoy. However, even if they’re not, Nice Day for Fishing is still a lighthearted RPG adventure — just don’t expect anything too deep.

Jun 3, 2025A small but charming pixel adventure built around an entertaining fishing minigame - a bit short on the parody that made Epic NPC Man yet full of charming characters from the series.

Jun 6, 2025There’s a lot to love in Nice Day for Fishing, but it’s marred by repetition. By the time you’ve cast your line a few dozen times or run about the map from end to end to fetch whatever the wizard Baradun needs, the magic fades. What works well in the short NPC Man skits doesn’t entirely hold up across the course of a full-length game. Still, even though it might not be the legendary catch you’re looking for, Nice Day for Fishing is far from a throwaway, especially so if you’re a Viva La Dirt League fan. In short bursts, it’s a very enjoyable time. It is indeed a nice day for fishing… but not a nice week.
