That being said, the DLC feels like it's a few years too late, as it solves issues that exist within the base game. The additions are welcome, but most of them don’t feel as impactful or as massive as initially advertised. Also, don’t expect any resolutions to many of the story’s plot holes here, as it mainly serves to support the worldbuilding and add context rather than answer many of the questions.

MSFS 2024 on PS5 is a mixed bag. When everything works, it’s a near-perfect simulation playground with stunning visuals and complex flight mechanics. But technical issues and buggy career progression significantly temper the experience. For newcomers or casual pilots, patience is required. And the best part about it all is that the game is completely free to play and enjoy, with everything you need to learn included.

Game Freak is at their best when they’re allowed to break from the usual formula, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A is proof of that. Just like Legends: Arceus before it, this game shows how much potential the series still has when it stops trying to follow its own rules. Even after nearly three decades of trainer battles, there’s still room for Pokémon to grow into something that feels fresh without losing what made it special in the first place. Sure, there are still some technical mishaps and few tragic traditions (no voice-acting, for one), but Legends: Z-A has that magic that breathes new life into the franchise. If this is the kind of creative direction Game Freak is setting up for Generation 10, then there’s plenty to be hopeful for in Pokémon’s future.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is a fun action-adventure game with Metroidvania elements that features a variety of gameplay mechanics, all put together with a generous sprinkling of humor. While it still needs some polishing with control buttons and subtitles, Revenge of the Savage Planet still delivers an enjoyable space adventure out in the stars.

With tighter, more fluid combat and a cinematic presentation that nearly rivals Ufotable’s legendary adaptation, this sequel feels like a true evolution from the very first swing. If the original was Hinoe rank, this one unquestionably earns its place among the Hashira.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is still the same friendship-ending game you may or may not have loved a couple of months back, and Jamboree TV sprinkles in a few bright ideas. Frenzy Rules and mouse-control minigames are very fun. The problem is that everything else feels like a tech showcase in search of a reason to exist, and the awkward separation from the base game doesn’t help its case. What’s worse, there isn’t even a new game board! When the highlight of a $20 add-on is a handful of quick novelties and minigames that force you to buy a peripheral, it’s hard to imagine this being worth picking over other party games.

Threefold Recital is an adventure-visual novel type of game with a compelling storyline, likeable characters, and engaging gameplay that will keep you on the edge of your seat for more. It has the power to get you laughing at one point from the humorous interactions between characters, while also having that strong shock factor from twists and turns that slowly unfold as you progress through the individual chapters. It’s easy to get lost in the world of Threefold Recital and the city of Bluescales along with its characters—but its weakness lies in its slow pacing, and small translation errors that momentarily take you out from the fantasy.

ANTHEM#9 feels like a small-scale game overloaded with too many good ideas at once. It’s undeniably fun to play, and its audiovisual presentation is impressively polished—but why is there a turn timer or an oversized UI that often fills more than half the screen with text? Thankfully, though, everything else carries it to greatness.

No, I’m Not Human thrives on atmosphere, weaving paranoia and dread into every knock at the door, and its shuffled characters and multiple endings give it strong replay value. It’s not a game of polished mechanics—its testing restrictions are frustrating and its bugs are noticeable—but for $14.99 it delivers a tense horror experience that sticks with you.

REMATCH is the ultimate arcade soccer game out there when it works. With network issues and game-breaking bugs, Sloclap has to resolve these issues before they can score the golden goal.

Cyanide Studios created a third game that makes stealth feel even more rewarding in Styx: Blades of Greed. While the nine-year wait doesn’t make it seem much bigger at a glance, the new open-world design places greater emphasis on traversal and exploration, for better or worse.

Wild Hearts S is the Switch 2 version of the original and is a solid monster-hunting game with a strong identity, thanks to its Karakuri building system. But a shaky camera, finicky combat, and a paper-thin story weigh it down. As a port, it brings little new to the table—so unless you’re a first-time player or a handheld-focused hunter, it’s hard to recommend a second purchase.

Everything may be crab, but not everything is well with Everything is Crab. It’s a tad too simple for its enterprising attempt at evolving the roguelite formula, but I still think it’s another crab game that’s worth treasuring. Splicing simply addictive gameplay with a famous high-brow meme and enough difficulty levels to challenge anyone, this game’s got the potential to template a better attempt in the future. We must’ve just caught it mid-evolution is all.
