With Aragami 2, the development team changes artistic direction, replenishes the gameplay with everything that has been released in recent years and add content to content, preferring quantity to quality. With a little more care and a better finish, Aragami 2 could have been a jewel: as it is, it remains an effective product, but still leaves a little bitterness in the mouth.- Everyeye.it

Gamedec's ideas are interesting and so is its imagination. But what disappoints about the work of Anshar Studios is how the concepts were concretized and how ineffective the dialogues are - both in describing the world (the discovery of which will only be possible by reading dozens of codex documents), and in telling the characters and their emotions.- Everyeye.it

The small smudges reported up to this point do not compromise the experience as a whole. In the approximately 10 hours of gameplay required for completion, to which another handful is added to complete all the secondary ones left open, Tails of Iron constantly keeps the player's attention high, just like Redgi's shield. We are far from the complexity of a full-fledged souls-like, but the production of Odd Bug represents an engaging, at times exhilarating challenge, which will certainly keep even the most demanding players busy.- Everyeye.it

If we were to evaluate exclusively the Ultra Age combat system we would not hesitate to say that it is a small pearl. Unfortunately, however, we find ourselves having to consider the entire package and it is therefore impossible not to take into consideration the serious problems of this production, which range from level design to the graphics sector, passing through some very questionable gameplay choices. The result is a poor offer in terms of content even for a product sold for 29.99 euros. In short, the purchase of Ultra Age should only be evaluated by the most hardcore fans of the genre who do not want to miss the opportunity to try the particular combat system on PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch (platform on which there is also a free demo).- Everyeye.it

Despite the frenetic action combat system and the exquisite tactical component represented by the introduction of the cute Cioffi, already in 2018 Ni no Kuni 2: The Destiny of a Kingdom could not fully convince us, due to a cloying and excessively childish story , which among other things entrusted downloadable content with the fundamental task of answering the most interesting questions that remained pending. Including both the base game and its DLCs, the Switch version has at least partially remedied the "shortcomings" of the original version, the only pity that on the hybrid the product is affected by technical problems that are difficult to ignore. Ultimately, the future of the kingdom continues to look anything but rosy.- Everyeye.it

Ultimately, Lost Judgment is a great sequel, characterized by very inspired writing and a great dose of irreverence. A braver second chapter, more refined and extremely more elegant, which offers the possibility of being played by all those who have never had direct contact with the first episode or with the Yakuza saga. RGG Studio proves once again to be one of the most competent teams on the square, capable of diversifying the gameplay as few, giving full importance to the narrative component of their productions and deliberately omitting some technical details that are however irrelevant for the success of the project. Sure, maybe more could have been done with regards to exploiting the features of Dualsense, but this is more of a wasted opportunity than a real lack.- Everyeye.it

F.I.S.T .: Forged in Shadow Torch is an imperfect production but by no means trivial: a metroidvania that does its own without excelling in any area, in any case denoting a certain expertise on the part of a team that is anything but accustomed to global stages. What is missing are only a bit of an overall vision, a sense of proportion (because the adventure is paradoxically even a thread too long) and a basic balance: sins of youth, however excusable, which cannot really affect the value of a title that can be played with a certain pleasure.- Everyeye.it

Eastward is not just the dazzling debut title of a very small development studio in Shanghai, just as it is not just a video game that closely resembles the best 2D Zelda in history. Don't call it Zelda-like: not because it's not a formally correct definition but because Pixpil's creature wants to be something more than the classic declaration of love to a title from the past. Eastward is one of the brightest examples of what are the true qualities of independent development: a real pearl that deserves to be discovered, perfectly capable of carving out its space in the niche of instant videogame cult. It is certainly one of the most surprising and impactful experiences of recent years, one of those titles capable of pointing the way to those who will come later.- Everyeye.it

For those who have not played Madden NFL for a few years, the new episode may be the right opportunity to start over. The Franchise mode has been rearranged and the direction taken seems to be the right one, while the gameplay, waiting for the adjustments in the secondary, is appreciated for a renewed physics in the inertia of the players' movements and for an AI that in more than one opportunity surprised us positively. The magic of the new generation has been little seen for now: Madden NFL 22 is still a good game to watch even if it was legitimate to expect something more. In general, our advice is to wait for EA Tiburon to fix bugs and glitches: time is up and the season has just started.- Everyeye.it

Deathloop is an original, visionary and courageous work, a playful experiment that returns to reaffirm the unquestionable talent of the Arkane Studios team, which over the years has never stopped putting itself to the test with ever new challenges, often at odds with the commercial logic of the triple A market. The result of the studio's latest creative challenge is a brilliant exercise in game design, at the base of a multifaceted and compelling playful narrative construct, blessed with an absolutely majestic artistic direction. Deathloop is a unique game of its kind, which unfortunately is torn from excellence by some rather important flaws. First of all, a surprisingly lazy and anticlimatic conclusion, which ends up revealing some evident gaps in the script. Even on the playful side, not everything works perfectly, especially due to an artificial intelligence that is not very reactive and too erratic. Net of its missteps, however, Deathloop remains a memorable work, a jumble of style and creativity probably destined to become an instant cult.- Everyeye.it

Made in Unreal Engine by a single man, Song of Iron is a product that thrives on light and shadow, a certainly remarkable accomplishment that however failed to fully satisfy us on the playful front. Fans of adventures steeped in Norse mythology and out-of-the-box twists would do well to give it a chance - especially if at a discount - but those who expected a more complex and refined experience in terms of platforming and combat system would do well to weigh with attention to the critical issues of the game. Having said that, we hope that Joe Winter and his Resting Relic can follow up on Song of Iron and this time with some extra help, so as to fully exploit the potential of the ideas behind the progenitor.- Everyeye.it

From the artistic direction to the narration, passing through the combat system, Lost in Random stages a suggestive contrast between order and chaos. A modern dark fairy tale that owes much of its aesthetic to the imagery of Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline, Lost in Random will undoubtedly conquer lovers of Tim Burton's works. Capable of entertaining, amusing, but also disturbing, the Indie by Zoink Games is absolutely recommended to all players looking for a good Action Adventure full of ideas and original solutions.- Everyeye.it

King's Bounty II is composed of many traditional elements fused together in an unconventional way. Rather than melted it would be better to say stuck on top of each other. The amalgam of characteristics and genres is completely disorganized, confused, as if it were the mixture of randomly selected market trends. Taken individually, not all the constituent elements of the game are mediocre, indeed it is quite possible to be captured by the settings or by the combat system. But what is missing is the connection work: the most important operation in a complex product such as a video game. What distinguishes a good video game from a bad one is not the sum of the parts, it is how these parts interact with each other, how they contribute to the realization of a common goal.- Everyeye.it

A must for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, and absolutely recommended for everyone else, The Artful Escape of Francis Vendetti tells with irony and intelligence the path of artistic and inner growth of a talented teenage musician. Through the celestial bodies of the Stupefacosm, the protagonist and the player learn together to follow only the rhythm of their electric guitar, among extraordinarily inspired landscapes. Even in the face of a playful sector that does not represent the fulcrum of the work, the only regret remains a rhythm game soul that could have dared more. But in the face of the power of the proposed experience, we consider it a slight observation that we hope will be heard in a desirable second journey into the Stupefacosm.- Everyeye.it

Also on PS5 The Medium confirms the strengths and weaknesses of a production that is at times also genuinely intriguing, but unable to distinguish itself and to sanction that consecration of the Polish studio that many would have expected (even more so with what seemed to be the project of maturity definitive). The experience is essentially identical to that which lived seven months ago on the Xbox Series X, with a big difference, indeed in practice two. Even without epochal revolutions, on PlayStation 5 the DualSense adds something in terms of interaction compared to the original version, but on the Microsoft console the inclusion of the game in the Game Pass catalog since day one weighs a lot: a download to The Medium yes can and if you are a fan of the genre you must give it without reservations, while the investment of 49.99 € must be taken less lightly.- Everyeye.it

Despite the eleven years on his shoulders, Sonic Colors is confirmed to be among the most interesting adventures of the polygonal "second life" of the hyperkinetic hedgehog. Enjoying it fully is still possible today, certainly thanks to its intrinsic qualities - level design, in particular - but also the efforts made by Blind Squirrel in packaging Ultimate: a very good level of remastering work, albeit perfectible, and a product that we recommend without delay, especially to those who have not had the opportunity to get lost in the colors of the old edition.- Everyeye.it

For those who have never played Quake, the remastered is an unmissable opportunity to fill this gap and to appreciate one of the first person shooters that marked an era. Carmack and Romero with their desire to innovate (and their quarrels!) Have brought the video game industry to a new dimension: Quake is the game that has marked - indelibly - the history of id Software. After the "earthquake", in fact, nothing was the same as before. Waiting for a well-deserved reboot / remake, let's console ourselves with this version that offers new content to try and the ability to relive - with a few tears - the frenzy and magic of the old and beloved first person shooters.- Everyeye.it

Pile Up! Box by Box is not the 3D platformer to recommend to die-hard fans of the genre who are looking for the impossible challenge, but it is an unpretentious experience that manages to give its best if played in the company of other people, especially when it comes to smaller players. Aliens Fireteam Elite is a cooperative shooter without infamy and without praise that, at a budget price, allows you to spend a few hours immersed in the typical atmosphere of Xenomorph-based films in the company of a couple of friends. However, do not expect a product capable of entertaining you for a long time due to an underlying repetitiveness and a scarce variety of situations that tends to tire rather quickly, not to mention the presence of an AI ally that is far from perfect, which makes the title difficult to enjoy for those who want to live the experience alone. By blowing on the dormant flames of Souls iconography, Blue Fire brings an experience with an authentic and challenging character to the panorama of independent development, evoking an almost melancholy scent. The inspiration from names such as The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario does not betray any lack of personality, on the contrary it reveals the attention of a team - that of ROBI Studios - which has been able to combine all the influences sought elsewhere with great coherence and playful effectiveness. The Japanese developer Compile Heart has instead taken over the reins of its flagship franchise, and although Neptunia Virtual Stars lends its side to several critical issues, the result is all in all enjoyable. The wind that blows from the island of Iki, at times, can be even more overwhelming than the one that crossed the horizons of Tsushima. Short but incisive, the expansion sets up an intimate narrative, which delves even deeper into the tormented meanders of Jin's soul: it succeeds, and convinces us. The new map and the timid additions to the gameplay do not exponentially increase the variety and quality of an experience that, as expected, remains conservative, with the same merits and the same stumbling blocks as the base game. If the lock on has a fluctuating implementation, which does not solve the problems of a camera that is far from flawless, it is the art direction (again!) And the use of DualSense that make the difference: a sign of how Ghost of Tsushima , also and above all in the Director's Cut, is an adventure that stands out mainly for its evocative visual flashiness. The choice of setting the title within the confines of a small two-room apartment, combined with the mystery that constantly permeates the work, certainly represents one of the most valuable aspects of the Indie published by Annapurna Interactive. Let's be clear, the title signed by Antab Studio has arrows in its bow. Using the different cybernetic powers of Evan Kapnos is a pleasure and they offer enough variety to the fights, and the cyberpunk atmospheres that you breathe are engaging enough to push you to want to go all the way without stopping. We also appreciate the developers' attempt to give the right variety to their work by mixing action, stealth and puzzles. The problem with Foreclosed is that its many playful elements lack incisiveness and are not fully convincing. Don't be fooled by the reduced duration of Seven's adventure: after the finale you will be delighted by numerous additions during the second game, and the new awareness gained in the course of exploring Aryish could push you to renew your approach, looking for other avenues. The narration will satisfy the fans of Isaac Asimov's great science fiction, with suggestions of a religious nature that recall the works of Roger Zelazny and Philip Kindred Dick; the possibilities for in-depth analysis offered by the documents then recall works such as The Talos Principle (2014). There remain some small regrets: we would have liked a greater characterization of the inhabitants, robotic and otherwise, of the planet Aryish, and on some occasions the lack of variety of enemies leaves room for a small dose of monotony. Tribes of Midgard is a good compromise between team play, exploration and survival. A sandbox with an intriguing setting, albeit artistically uninspired, which offers a type of approach to the genre by virtue of accessibility and cooperation: in short, the shy but dignified starting point for Norsfell. A team that thus sets foot in a market that is quite inflated in itself, laying the foundations for an experience that - if duly supported, especially in terms of content - could prove to be an excellent opportunity to engage in fierce survival challenges with friends. Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector doesn't shine in any of its key aspects, but is well represented by the sum of its parts. It is a solid strategy, developed with competence and with a sense of proportion, with which experts of the genre will immediately find themselves at ease. The impression that he is missing a few pieces is still there, and we would have gladly exchanged part of the long campaign for a more in-depth progression system or a management component. Those simply looking for "yet another Warhammer 40,000 strategy" may have found it.- Everyeye.it

The idea behind AKIBA's TRIP is tasty and fun, but if in 2011 the product could work even with all its shortcomings and the limitations imposed by the PSP hardware, the same cannot be said for its re-release.- Everyeye.it

Net of what we perceived as shortcomings for a narrative work, Last Stop still offers several hours of entertainment, for an IP that leaves the way open for a sequel, while effectively closing the proposed plot. And a probable sequel could be able to file the defects highlighted, to shape a more engaging title.- Everyeye.it

If in general the hybrid nature of Nintendo Switch tends to balance the technical limitations of the hardware with portability, in this case there is no valid reason why you should prefer this second version of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox to the one launched just a few months ago on PS4 and PS4 Pro, which has even been supporting 4K resolution for some time.- Everyeye.it

The first narrative expansion of Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline is a strange creature: a sort of hybrid between the classic course of the series and the more libertarian approach followed with the latest iteration of the brand. Although the DLC does not always manage to find the right balance between its two natures, generating some fluctuations both on the playful and on the narrative side, the result is a fun and smooth experience, which ultimately manages to achieve what is its goal number one: to offer early-stage fans a functional closure to Aiden Pearce's story.- Everyeye.it

With the public's attention clearly directed towards the sequel to Breath of the Wild, the choice to quench the thirst of fans with the revival of one of the most controversial chapters of the series could make this re-release welcome with a certain prejudice. In reality, it is an edition that allows you to experience an adventure unfairly sunk in a new light by questionable design choices already at the time of the original publication. Skyward Sword remains an imperfect title, but this HD version finally manages to do justice to a production that is too often underestimated, making it accessible to a wide audience of gamers who should absolutely not miss the opportunity to discover the origins of the legend of Zelda. An almost mandatory recovery for those who have been struck by Breath of the Wild and equally essential for those who threw in the towel in 2011.- Everyeye.it

Although with a different nature and less fiercely hardcore, Boomerang X reminded me with undisguised enthusiasm that independent gem that goes by the name of Devil Daggers. Also in the debut feature of DANG! it all revolves around fierce, tight-knit gameplay, expertly built around brilliant controls and a fast-paced pace. Massacre legions of creeping blackish monstrosities with exasperated aerial acrobatics on the notes of an exotic oriental soundtrack proves to be a tasty satisfaction: even within its limits (starting with a price threshold of 19.99 € not exactly popular), Boomerang X is only the 'latest in a long series of targets centered by Devolver Digital.- Everyeye.it

Available for € 24.99 exclusively on PlayStation 4, Where the Heart Leads is an independent production with a very specific focus. With a calm and thoughtful pace, he takes his own time, proposing a narrative that is never hasty or concise. As highlighted by the development team, this is not a work suitable for everyone, but for those looking for an articulated graphic adventure, able to confront choices and issues faced in a never banal way, the production Armature Studios is highly recommended.- Everyeye.it

The talented Japanese team has created its greatest work and, beyond what will be the reception of the general public, has given shape to a stylistic and gameplay masterpiece, capable of synthesizing the needs of players with almost opposite characteristics. Guilty Gear Strive is the new beat 'em up paradigm, by art sector, online infrastructure and balance between the various elements of the gameplay. The few defects found are mostly a consequence of too short development times, and will probably be fixed over time. A title suitable for beginners, but challenging for experts, with a solid online infrastructure and a non-playable, yet smooth and well-written story mode. We are undoubtedly facing a milestone in the fighting game, a product to be appreciated and loved in all its facets. Put aside any reluctance and let yourself be taken by the hand by the rich tutorial modes, you will not be disappointed.- Everyeye.it
