Reviving a name like Prince of Persia was not an easy task, but in the hands of the right team and above all, without ties from the past or meaningless rules beyond making a good video game, it has become clear to us that it can be done. achieve. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a return in style thanks to polished controls, intelligent game mechanics, sophisticated level design, a surprising story and of course, great use of current hardware. All these reasons have made me have a great time with this game that I believe will surely have an important place on our lists of the best of the year when the time comes to remember everything that 2024 left us. Ubisoft starts this period on the right foot to take a path he had forgotten about. Now it remains to stay in it.- Atomix

Following to the letter its own formula in terms of gameplay, controls, structure and open world design, Forza Horizon 5 becomes the new pinnacle of the franchise due to the special way that it transports us to the beautiful Mexican landscapes, taking harnessing all the power of the Xbox Series X to become one of the first games of this new generation that undoubtedly feels like a new generation. Some rough edges at the level and interface and progression slow it down from true perfection, but its virtues overshadow those flaws and of course, make it one of the best games of this 2021.- Atomix

Thanks to a spectacular puzzle design, a visual style that mixes two-dimensional art with super-realistic 3D graphics, music that fills your ears at all times, as well as a story that might seem simple at first, but quickly overflows and touches on complex themes of the human condition, The Plucky Squire becomes one of the most special experiences we have been able to enjoy in 2024 and of course, another great example of why independent video game development remains crucial to the well-being of this special form of entertainment. All Possible Futures and Devolver Digital managed to live up to what was initially promised and the great expectations that were generated, delivering a true must-have that will undoubtedly be on many lists of the best of the year.- Atomix

BioWare knows its business well and for Dragon Age: The Veilguard it made the decision not to risk too much and go for a safe path. As I already told you, the main objective was to deliver a very good representative of the acclaimed saga, which is achieved thanks to a spectacular combat system, a complex cycle of personal relationships, a great story and spectacular graphics. It is a reason to celebrate that one of the most recognized studios in the industry and that has had the hardest time in the last decade, can return to its ways to show a much friendlier face of what RPGs made in the West are. Who is Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp for? What type of player should consider it? I could tell you that actually, anyone can take it at any time. Although we are dealing with markedly complicated games and with a significant challenge, the truth is that their good work at the tutorial level makes them extremely easy to take. Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is a great game. Firaxis’ work is presented as an extremely complex experience, and from a distance, it can be boring for more than one person. However, once you pay attention to it, you discover something addictive that gives you a shot of dopamine with each new concept you manage to understand. The title allows you to create your own story, and the way in which each civilization advances reacts in real time to your decisions. Katana Zero has been a surprise for everyone since it always kept a low profile and in the midst of the number of high level pitches that we have is able to carve a niche and get up as one of the best games so far this year. Perhaps its biggest problem comes in the sense of the duration that does not end up being exact to obtain the development of the whole plot and that certainly can be exploited more. Otherwise it is an indispensable this month and perhaps this year because without much pretension shows that the heart of a video game is in what is in itself and nothing more.- Atomix

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is a great experience. The original was phenomenal, and everything the remaster adds and changes usually works in its favor. Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is the best way to experience the 3DS classic today, and a spectacular Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. I just hope this means Bravely Second will get the same treatment, or that Bravely Third is even in development.- Atomix

A great return of Aloy. Going back to the world of Horizon Forbidden West is wonderful. Surprisingly, the story told by Burning Shores is quite important and a prequel for a potential Horizon 3. Graphics are stunning. One of the most impressive games nowadays.- Atomix

Diablo IV delivers the sequel we've been expecting for years. It's definitely the best incarnation of the saga with minor flaws that are eclipsed by the excellent gaming experience it provides and the immense replay value it offers.- Atomix

Intense, challenging and well designed. This War of Mine show us the raw and frustating side of the war from the point of view of the survivals; a real roller coaster of feelings, decisions and gameplay mechanics well chosen to create a great experience in a game of survival and resource management.- Atomix

There's still a lot to discover about this game, but as usual Nintendo delivers another great first-party game and a new intellectual property that starts right-footed. A short campaign is the only thing that could be criticized from this otherwise excellent third-person shooter.- Atomix

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force kick off the year in a fantastic fashion. Dynasty Warriors: Origins is the best Dynasty Warriors game yet. A love letter to the series, the perfect entry point for new players, and it makes it clear that the future of the series is something we should all be paying attention to.- Atomix

Needless to say, if you are a fan of the series, especially what was done with Resident Evil VII a few years ago, you will be very happy with what Resident Evil Village presents to us. What I would tell you is that it may be better if you lower your expectations a bit in relation to the size of the game and the developer's own ambitions. The eighth installment of this beloved saga is one that complies in a very good way with almost everything it tries, bearing in a very dignified way the name it represents, however, it is also true that we would have loved to take more important risks and let events go more calmly to present a longer adventure. Anyway, Capcom once again proves its worth and that it continues to be at the forefront if we talk about AAA development.- Atomix

It is very complex to be able to start talking about GRIS since it is a unique experience that pushes the narrative limits of the game as a medium. It is one of those works that make a difference, perhaps not with commercial success and recognition of the general public but in its nature of art has the quality that gives "What to think", that is, encourages critical thinking while leading to player to find emotional resonance in the journey of his trip. And there comes a point where it becomes almost impossible to discern between a dream and its game mechanics.- Atomix

Addictive, accessible, with precise controls and tons of fun. OlliOlli 2 takes everything that made the previous title in the series great and expands it with necessary adjustments that results in one of the best games in its genre.- Atomix

For quite some time now, whenever a new Forza Horizon title is announced, we can be almost entirely certain that we will be treated to a very solid racing experience—one that also allows us to explore some exotic region of the world. Playground Games understands its own formula to perfection, and—at least so far—it has managed to successfully evolve it with each successive release. This first look at Forza Horizon 6 demonstrates that this trend is set to continue; while this is great news on one hand, it leaves us longing for something new and distinct for the series on the other.
