    Plenty of mediocre content that goes stale quickly. Prioritizes quantity over quality. It's also a live service (online only/aka subscription) which limits playability and the provider (Blizzard) has not yet added any quality content. Crashes regularly on console. If a streaming service constantly crashes and has no interesting content you cancel the subscription.

    Where to begin? I’ve been invested and have all the Diablo games from my childhood to D3. Diablo 4 is by far the worse game in the series.

    I leveled a sorceress from 1-100 the first 50 levels were ok but after 50 their really is nothing that keeps you interested or gives you gratification to continue to play. I created a Rouge for Season 1 leveled it to level 23 and deleted it I can’t    Where to begin? I’ve been invested and have all the Diablo games from my childhood to D3.     I created a Rouge for Season 1 leveled it to level 23 and deleted it I can’t continue further. The game is boring, itemization is boring, legendaries all look the same and are boring.

    Uber uniqueness (you know the 6 ultra rares) that have an impossible chance of dropping are discouraging. I really want to like this game I bough the ultimate addition.

    The collectors addition doesn’t even include the game it’s a money grab. Maybe by season 10 (like 5 years away) it might be good but I just can’t continue to play this dull and uninspiring title so disappointing.

    I had my doubts and really wish I didn’t pay the $134 Canadian for a second grade product. The collectors addition is a money grab by the developers it does not come with the game it’s sold separately and it’s too expensive.

    After thirty years of developing Diablo games, Blizzard forgot every important lesson about how to make these games fun. Items are boring, the map is just an endless slog, movement is slow, the game is both always-on and completely empty, you can't trade items, your bags get full, skills are boring, etc.

Early in 3, items were boring, builds were bland, crafting materials used too much space, etc. But after some major rework - items were fun, builds were unique, crafting materials use very little space, etc. And when Diablo 4 launches - why did they make their items boring, their builds bland, their crafting materials use too much space? Why can't they play their own games and try to include the "fun" from them?

But really I could have forgiven all of that. But they nerfed my sorc so hard I stopped playing. Even with the sunk cost fallacy of buying the ultimate edition.

    -Scaling levels with enemies - Seems like a bad idea but not that bad when you hit end game as content becomes static for NM dungeons and other events
    -Simplicity- Builds look cookie cutter and they are but the paragon board post 50 adds a decent amount of complexity to builds

    Overall: Give this game 2 years and it might be good. In its current state, it is only fun for the campaign and falls off hard after. theory crafting builds is not fun due to itemization and lack of balancing from the devs.
    If you like games like diablo 4, I would recommend Path of Exile, Last Epoch, Grim Dawn, Torch Light 2, or even the previous diablo games over d4. This game needs a lot more Quality of Life, more content, and more classes    … Expand

    There is a lack of content to enjoy than games under 10 dollars that are over 10 years old.
    You bought this game at this price, and it's like you used the garbage thrown by Blizzard on the flip side while passing through the street.

They patched the game way more grindy and sluggish. Played today and it felt very boring. Controller movement is currently a little bit broken too. I have since removed the game from my pc. once the game is finished...and the devs stop invalidating every single build i do multiple times, i may installation it again. right now i am looking to baldur's gate 3 and starfield as diablo 4 is an absolute steaming pile right now. Not only didit ad such potential. i had the ultimate gifted to me and i purchased to ultimates for freinds. It feels like a walking simulator because of the low mob density. Once you reach the mob pack, it doesn't feel satisfying to kill them. I feel no sense of progress or reward when playing the game.     New season patch nerf everything. Nerf to all the fun and sorcerer is the worst class now.
    Sorc Teleport on PS5 is junk , you cannot teleport full screen like on PC. The sorc teleport on PS5 distance is same like evade.
    Elemental resist is not working.
    Horse sprint on PS5 is not full sprint like on PC.

    So i could write a lot more as this...but i already wasted 300hrs testing this game and its bad,really bad. Honestly its a scam,Blizzard wants you to buy the battlepass and cosmetics. Sidequests boring,loot is crap,Dungeons,pvp and hardcore mode horrible.

    Bait and switch. The game was fun before the recent patch. Not it's just painful to play. You kill enemies really slow. Bosses take so much time to kill. It would be okay if the game wasnt based on spamming nightmare dungeons. Essentially they slowed your character down for no reason. New season is really bad and the battle pass is terrible with no reason reason to even pay for an upgradedBait and switch. The game was fun before the recent patch. Not it's just painful to play. It’s a fun experience early on, and the campaign is well-crafted, but the late game is extremely lacking and clearly rushed. There’s nothing fun to do after level 70, and itemization and item drops are a huge negative;This game is highly unstable from a technical standpoint—riddled with bugs and game-breaking issues like memory leaks which can actually damage your hardware over time. It’s a fun experience early on, and the campaign is well-crafted, but the late game is extremely lacking and clearly rushed. There’s nothing fun to do after level 70, and itemization and item drops are a huge negative; simply put, there was no thought behind how to ensure a meaningful, positive feedback loop that would keep players hooked. To add to the mediocrity, most builds are unviable after the most recent season 1 patch due to huge reductions in survivability and damage. Blizzard justifies this large patch as being necessary for bringing the game into alignment with their vision, but they have done an awful job of articulating their vision and no one really understands the purpose of their game design outside of driving engagement. One major problem blizzard seemingly hasn’t come to terms with through their game design is that retention > engagement. Retention is driven by long-term value whereas engagement can be built through short-term, trivial, and easily forgettable reward systems that burn out and frustrate customers. A company with low player retention may claim victory for their product at launch, but the damage to their brand over time will be immense if churn is high, and I suspect that after this game, blizzard may not be held in as high esteem as it once was. Brand loyalty = retention and long-term value, and Blizzard is doing a very poor job of understanding this.… Expand

Doing uber lilith is impossible alone, but so is finding a group to try it as 4 players. Season is irrelevant because why the hell would i want to start a new character after investing time to get to lvl 100? Also i glitched through the floor yesterday. New patch is horrible… Expand

    This was the worst purchase I made in my gaming history. Devs are out of touch, and wont change their minds. Stay away if u like a decent arpg like d2, grim dawn or PoE. Maybe in a year or 2 is playable, right now is a just a mes.

    This game just keeps getting less and less fun with each patch. This most recent patch was clearly meant to force players off of the eternal realm as everything is "balanced" around the seasonal buffs. Seasonal play should not be mandatory.

    As I look at my sorceress, I can't help but feel a sense of frustration creeping in. She was already facing challenges and struggling to remain relevant in the game. And now, with the recent update, she's been nerfed even further! It's disheartening to witness her power and effectiveness diminish before my eyes. I find myself wondering, why must they do this? Why make her almost useless?

    The game does have some problems, but it’s awesome. I got to 100 with a rogue and high 80s with a barb. I’m playing necro for season 1 and I’m still having a good time. I recommend it.

    Had to create an account just to write this review. Leaving the ongoing rubber banding issues aside, the patch was the straw that broke the camel's back. I was playing as a sorcerer and I'm just gonna bin it. Can't even return the damn game. Definitely uninstalling it. This was a moneygrab without quality delivery.

    Well done Devs, grinding countless hours to build a class collecting legendaries helping friends and the community just to have it nerfed "fixed issue of the barbarian being in the game" good job if the team at blizzard weren't so busy with trying to figure out what a fan base is maybe they could make a good game, congrats on a great AAA title

    Story/campaign is good. Graphics are good. Sound effects are nice and punchy. However, once you reach end-game, it is quite lacking. I leveled my sorc to 83, but grinding to 100 is such a chore and the lack of interesting activities to do in end-game makes it worse. Also, there are A LOT of bugs in this game, some of which have existed since beta and still have not been fixed. BlizzardStory/campaign is good. Graphics are good. Sound effects are nice and punchy.     If you are an avid ARPG player who is definitely interested in end-game, there are better ARPGs out there. If you have not purchased the game yet (unlikely, because most ARPG fans have already tried this game), I suggest that you wait until Blizzard improves the game.    … Expand

    I bought the game on PS5 and PC. Got a Necro up to 90. Was farming for specific gear. Then boom. The Season 1 patch comes out and wrecks everything. I feel robbed.

    I've given the blizzard team all the benefits. I've defended them and encouraged others to buy the game. But with this season they lost me. Everything about this is horrible. No QoL improvements. We got no carrots, only sticks with Diablo 4

    Itemization is a huge issue. Hordes of drops that are completely worthless for your build is the norm, with endgame itemization even worse (when that is the stage in these kinds of games in which it should shine), with relentless grinding for meager gains the norm.

    The inability to play offline, and therefore pause and attend to real life like an actual human being is a big put off when considering playing the game more. Every game doesn't need to be GaaS / SaaS. I wish devs would stop trying to squeeze every percentage of a cent out of their customers and give us offline modes.    … Expand

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
