    This game is just one big joke, the marketing is multi-level and enticing for players. After all the promises that it would have the best mechanics from its predecessors, it's just a joke because I don't remember the mechanics ever being this weak. There was supposed to be an endgame that would provide many hours of gameplay, but you reach level 50-70 and it's so boring, it's shocking.This game is just one big joke, the marketing is multi-level and enticing for players. Character building is dull, and everyone plays the same way because there's nothing interesting you can create with the skill tree; it's laughable and there's nothing exciting in it. The Paragon system should change the playstyle, but it doesn't give you anything significant, just a bit of damage, and it's pathetic how little it affects the gameplay. As for the item system, it's like it doesn't even exist because there are only 50 unique items that are so underwhelming that school kids could come up with better ones than what we got in this game. And don't get me started on the latest update, it turned the game into something even worse, as now the characters that were already weak have become even weaker...… Expand

    I'm a long time D3 player and really looked forward to D4. Sadly, this game is nothing more than a tedious slog published by a company only interested in making it more so. Save your money. The Blizzard of old is indeed sadly dead.

All the fun in loot, in killing hordes of monsters, etc... all classes feel like they have a wet toilet paper armour, the damage of the skills is laughably bad and in general the game is not fun and doesnt make you wanna login again. I bought it, played it for 20 or so hours and could not stomach it anymore, very sad as I love the Diablo series. ThereEverything was nerfed to the ground!     Not gonna play anymore, restarting from level 0 makes no sense. Give players the flexibility to use their OG character, which they have spent hundreds of hours playing and leveling up.
    For people who want to start a new character, they already have that feature built-in of creating an alternate.

    Not only they are forcing you to start a new character, but they are also forcing you to do the renown again, explore the same map again, do the same side-quests again, and unlock the waypoints again, like **** no. This is absolute BS.

    Division 2 did it way better IMO - they had seasons too, players kept their fully leveled-up characters, could start new ones if they wanted, and they kept adding new stuff to the game, in terms of gear sets, new storylines, and super fun unique weapons to play with.    … Expand

Eons ago, Blizzard North actually played and cared about the games they made. They designed games with fun in mind, and were meant to be enjoyed, like fishing with the boys.     I would avoid currently. No end game activities, lots of confusing patches, very repetitive gameplay at the moment, pvp is a mess, and there just isn't enough build diversity to really warrant playing. I want it to be great but it is just not enjoyable in its current state. (Please buff horses, sincerely everyone).

    It feels like Blizzard bent me over again. The story was pretty good. The end game is a waste of time and Nightmare dungeons are lame, boring, and annoying simultaneously. Way too hard to find people to play with now that rooms don't exist. They will fix it I'm sure, but currently, I'd just wait a few seasons.

    Game is “supported” by a dev team that doesn’t support its casual OR hardcore gaming community. Latest pre season 1 patch made a slow game with minimal end game content and annoying QOL an even slower game with no additions to end game or better QOL. At least some decent titles from other studios will be released soon to take its place

    Most boring diablo game ever. Ive played every blizzard game ever made, starting with warcraft 1. Played all diablo games (was one of first players in the US to 100 paragon in diablo 3). I must say i was hyped for d4, preordered ultimate once it was available and im starting to regret doing that. I died with an eternal character at lvl 82 on hardcore and my progress transferred over to aMost boring diablo game ever. Ive played every blizzard game ever made, starting with warcraft 1. Cant do that with a dead character so it seems i have to grind all altars and renown all over again. Game is trash, endgame is trash, season 1 is trash and battlepass is trash. You grind for no reason and theres no reason to make new characters, also where are set items ?… Expand

    leveling was hideous before the nerfs, after level 50 game would slow down to like 1 level per 2 hours, im not planning on leveling that slow. Also sorc is so bad cus of resistance bug, like everything either oneshots me or twoshot.

    At the end of the day, games are supposed to be FUN and in the current state of the game, Diablo IV is NOT a fun game to play. I hope there is more people who stop playing the game, just so Blizzard get a wake up call and start implementing things that people are actually asking for.
    The customer should get the product the he wants, not be shoved a mouthfull of horse*hit that they think you deserve.

    I created an account just to say I agree with people saying that Blizzard is totally out of touch with what gamers want. After releasing the patch, I have decided to stop playing the game. It is no longer fun to me. I thought that's what I was paying for but apparently not.

    You CAN'T even buy a premium battle pass if you purchased the 100$ version that came with an accelerated battle pass because the game FORCES you to use it, even though Blizzard explicitly said you can save it for later seasons!

    Sure you can, but if you do you CAN'T get the premium battle pass because the game forces you to use the accelerated battle past first!

    The 1.1.0 patch completely gutted the game, and it was so widely hated they had to do an emergency livestream the following friday just to try and quell the backlash.

    This has been ONE of the BIGGEST flops i've ever seen, honestly.
    I don't know how they dropped the ball this hard, how they're so out of touch with their community.

    Too many items affixes contributes to an overall feeling of the game being a slog to work through. Updates have excerabated the issue as they've added yet more affixes and lowered exp rates.

    My first game ever was Diablo 1, my uncles gifted it to me as a kid and I always thank him for that, even remind it to him just right before Diablo 4 release, that said, I always stuck with Diablo no matter if the release was good or not, bought every single one of the games, BUT sadly this is my last, had a good time for over two decades on every release now it’s time to move on.

    They took a solid core and absolutely decimated it with the last patch. Basically 40% less damage, Mobs have more health and they reward almost 50% less experience. All a money grab for seasons and lack of end game content.

    The game had so much promise and much LIke all Blizzard's Hit Games, got nerfed to the ground. It's a terrible terrible decision to make a game which already takes forever to kill bosses and multiply it by 100x

    The campaign writing and overall presentation are great.

    Unfortunately once you clear the main campaign it starts falling apart. The poor coding shows itself when the difficulty starts raising, not that the game really gets that hard until you start pushing nightmare dungeons but you notice bad hit detection and things like that.     The main problem with the game as I see it and the thing that killed my enjoyment of the game is that the developers dont seem to have any understanding of the player experience or what the changes they are making will mean for it. They say they want to support a wide build variety but nerf the good builds that the top 1% of players are using doing the pinnacle content of the game while ignoring completely bugged out builds or builds that are pathetic like fire sorc or summoner druid.

    They dont seem to know that logging in to find your character is now much more squishy and much less powerful when you are pushing end game content isnt something players want to experience and would turn them off.

    If this is the level of thinking the developers or their bosses are operating on for D4 it will not have a successful life cycle as the game it was sold to be. For now I am choosing to abstain from the season and don't know if I will return to eternal realm or anything else blizzard has to offer. I will definitely never spend money on a blizzard title again, they burned me too good on this one. I hated D3, D2 was a huge part of my adolescence something I cherish greatly to this day. I know no one who worked on D2 is still working for blizzard but its a shame they have no one there with any pull who understands what made D2 so incredible. It wasnt a perfect game by any means which is what makes D4 so frustrating, there was a lot of room for updates and improvements to D2 which the D4 team could have taken and run with.

    I am heartened to see the response from the community because this kind of corporate meddling for the sake of greed, this constant extraction from everything good in our lives and world for the sake of profit leaves the whole word in a rotten state. Power to the people.    … Expand

And to round it up you decided to finally delete the sorc from the game, because f*** it, sorc was bad in pre season already so why not just delete it from the game altogether?… Expand

    The patch for Season 1 is the worst patch to a game ever. I would not waste your money on a game where they will just destroy your build because it works. That and the completely nerfed dungeon XP which makes killing anything in them pointless. Its like an alternate universe where Blizzard is Lilith and Lilith wins.

    I give a 3. Was good for about 3 days at the launch, then the candy shell started to melt away. What I thought was a chocolate M&M was actually just **** with a candy coating.

    It was fun and exciting for the campaign, but after that, you level for a bit and progress somewhat when you can explore Nightmare Dungeons, or do Hell Tides, or just farm content. However, you quickly hit a wall in which you cannot progress. This was further amplified by the constant nerfs the developers implemented in various parts of the game.

    The game, now, is no longer something you are able to play and enjoy to reach player power increases. It is, unfortunately, made even worse by the considerable stat affixes that are amazing but never roll on your gear. This frustration is compounded by the introduction of the challenge of farming enough gold to, enable what should be a switch in character builds or specializations only limited by the random drops in the game, and not, be for paying for every system required for the switch. Thus, pulling you deeper into a downward spiral of a time sink, severly limiting play and forward momentum. This will only be exacerbated more during the seasons, when you have a time crunch and also a reset factor. Resent nerfs have made it even worse, clearly designed around the, now clearly apparent philosophy of ABK that: "time spent = content."

    I have already wasted my 120 dollars on this piece of garbage software that is now lining my recycle bin on my desktop. This is the first game in the franchise that I have ever uninstalled and stopped playing due to dissatisfaction with, not only the current version of the game, but also the deep flaws that exist in the character designs and key game mechanics/systems.

    Hold on to your precious dollars. There hundreds of better titles out there. Wait for the expansion and re-evaluate, in my opinion.

    The game was pretty fun if a bit slow paced compared to older titles in the series, but Blizzard have decided that fun is not allowed and you are not to have a good time with this game. Exp nerfed, survivabity nerfed, fun factor nerfed, Helltides unplayable, For **** Sake they nerfed how long it takes to exit a **** dungeon. I wanted to love this game and I really was having fun but I am done.

    Zero – disappointed, sad that this is how I feel about the current state of D4, a highly anticipated game for myself. The "0" represents my excitement and outlook for the game after 1.1.0a patch, my lack of confidence in the team surrounding D4 at the moment. The patch was SO far removed and out of touch in nearly every way.. but it also sounds like the team is prioritizing time toZero – disappointed, sad that this is how I feel about the current state of D4, a highly anticipated game for myself. The "0" represents my excitement and outlook for the game after 1.1.0a patch, my lack of confidence in the team surrounding D4 at the moment. The patch was SO far removed and out of touch in nearly every way.. but it also sounds like the team is prioritizing time to digest/process feedback and comments? Part of me is still hopeful (copium, will always be a Diablo fan) and that this is all part of growing pains of a long-term plan to achieve balance in-game and harmony with the community, and I will return to the game if/when they do.
    Mid-review, I decided to give a score of "1" because I DID enjoy the game and believe the team is listening/communicative. But my review isn't heavily based on what I enjoyed in the past, it's weighted primarily on my outlook of the game moving forward. That said, I sincerely hope everyone still playing enjoys S1. I'll be staying updated with the game in the meantime and hope to play with y'all again one day, fingers crossed!    … Expand

    Most of the reviews already said it, the game is trash in current state with possible potential in a few years if they can even save it lol. Hope Lizzard stocks crash and the investors money burns. I think theyre just trolling their customers at this point. I hope a lawsuit happens.

    Nerfs turned the game a lost of time. Not fun at all, cant even get the lvl 100 with my main char because there is no xp now. I´m dropping.

    This was such a great game until Blizzard lost their nerve with the 1.1 patch. Before the grind was fun, now it is tedious. Running dungeons with a good team was as much fun as you can have with your clothes on pre-patch, but despite having built in incentives to create certain kinds of builds, the devs have nerfed anything that is even moderately successful. So more like purgatory than hell, now!

Blizzard once again strikes their fan base down by launching a game for everyone to beta test, that constantly has seen changes that transformed the game from very fun at launch into a drag to even log due to the incessant bugs, very restricted way to build your character that actually can defeat content, many, many quality of life things that literally had to be added through time for the same mistakes on Diablo 3 that simply aren’t anywhere to be seen on Diablo 4. Why? Why such little stash space? Why the need to make players avoiding making alternate characters by nerfing experience and fun ways to power level with friends to be able to play at the same level? Why are the devs, especifically Mr. Rod Ferguson trying to trick and tell players that “remember Diablo 4 has been out for only a few weeks” means that a triple A, bug riddled game (resistances don’t work, spells don’t work as intended, damage calculation is bugged, and the list goes on) is ok to have and we shouldn’t demand that fixes are churned quicker rather than later? And to top it all off, they release a patch where they literally change every single build every player has for worse, make the least customizable, least powerful class that’s bugged (sorcerer) worse, show a desperate attempt to slow everyone’s progress and restrict growth, and to make matters worse is riddled with a myriad of even more bugs. And we’re supposed to say thanks?
    I give it a 1 because the art, story and cinematics team should be rewarded, praised and recognized for creating such an interesting, and beautiful, dark world and ambiance, what a missed opportunity. This shouldn’t be accepted, that’s my 2 cents.    … Expand

    I Think this game needs a ton of work to make it playable the most recent patch tore up anything that was good about it. Blizzard needs to adress concerns of the community they so much respect and listen to and fix what the destroyed.

    Not enough content for what it costs, and there is still in game currency and battlepasses.
    They are also making the game be more of a chore by nerfing everything and making mundane tasks take longer.

    Absolute rubbish.. never have I felt so bad for spending that much money on a game... everything feels like a mechanic in place to keep you locked into the game as long as possible, and almost nothing feels as if it's in place because they want you to have genuine fun.. oh and no trading, yanky mechanics, rubbish endgame and the list goes on and on

    the game is extremely slow paced, everything is created in a way to slow you down.

    the devs had the ability to look at D3 and see what it did well, what people liked, and implement those things into D4 or just take inspiration of those things. they could have looked at other games that do well like PoE and take inspiration out of that.
    for some reason they did neither. all the QoL changes those games made over the years ? D4 has none of that :)

    it's actually disgusting that they have the audacity to charge 70 bucks for this...

    Diablo4 was the most anticipated game of my adult gaming life. I spent hundreds of hours in D2 and D3; bought D2R and had a blast. D4 campaign and early game were awesome. A few bugs but overall the gameplay was crisp, great story, amazing CGI, and levelling and looting felt great. The end game was a bit boring but 'hey for a launch it was pretty good'. Then came the nerfs. Fixing aDiablo4 was the most anticipated game of my adult gaming life. I spent hundreds of hours in D2 and D3; bought D2R and had a blast. D4 campaign and early game were awesome. A few bugs but overall the gameplay was crisp, great story, amazing CGI, and levelling and looting felt great. The end game was a bit boring but 'hey for a launch it was pretty good'. Then came the nerfs. Fixing a bug where you could a billion damage is a logical fix, but nerfing every skill into the ground because some level 100 builds could solo the final boss... isn't that the point of a level 100 build? You should be able to faceroll everything at that point with optimal gear. Instead they destroyed most builds, and made sorc and barb almost unplayable. The game is now 3-5 seconds of feeling good slaying stuff and 7-10 seconds of running around waiting on the next 3-5 second burst of damage. Its awful. Loot feels crappy; you can't min/max your build because gold is a resource and your stash space is limited so it really hinders build diversity. There's no 're-roll' function other than millions in gold and 15-20 minutes of manually unspecing a paragon board. The agrivating part is that they have the feedback now. Reddit and Blizzrd forums have been complaining of the same issues, the same QoL features that are in other games (heck they're in D3 currently!). Instead of making players want to log in more because its fun, they took all the fun out, kept the same mediocre loot and made demons stronger while making characters weaker. The review bombs will continue until the nerfs are reverted. Hope this makes your shareholders happy Microsoft!… Expand

    When the game first came out, I thought it was a great addition to the Diablo franchise. However, after the brutal nerfs after the first patch, I find the game just flat out not fun. The same thing happened when D3 came out. I have no idea why devs try to force types of play on a community that was having a great time with the game. I don't plan on logging in until things are fixed.

    Nobody asked for or wants cooldowns, they are by far the most annoying and completely useless part of the game - we already have Mana so why have a mechanic that punishes us twice to use the "best skills" (not to mention there are so limited of them).     I loved the game at first have over 20 days of actual gameplay. Literally could not wait to get home from work to play i was just having fun for a change. BUT after the latest patch game feels horrible and i refuse to play until something changes so may be back one day but current state of the game SAVE YOUR MONEY play something else.

Game has A LOT of Stuttering in many zones, the World Feels Empty with little to do after you've finished the Campaign, when there's lots of content that could be Reused in a Weekly or Daily basis that once we get to Nightmare dungeons we completely Abandon. Once NDs are available it will be unlikely that we Do WBs, any Tree of Whispers Events are ignored just like Random Estuar events, Cellars, when we could Reset some of these or get NPCs involved in them by means of giving us Bounties for Rewards that are Actually Useful. Caches filled with Materials, Items, Loot, Gold, anything, but basically we go about with Mindnumbing ND farming so its basically becoming D3 Rift farming. IDK, there's so much potential, but instead they worry more about nerfing everything to the ground and micro transactions. Such a shame. hopefully after all this feedback from the community that care about the game, they actually DO SOMETHING that benefits the player more than their Pockets!… Expand

    Game is at a terrible state for a premium priced game. servers are total crap, the game is more getting stunned and oneshotted than killing stuff and getting rewards. diablo 2 was so incredibly much better, why make a clone of Diablo 3 at launch when most people didnt like that??

    last time I give Blizzard my money.

    ALL those bad gameplay decisions without addressing or fixing the resistances, storage space, early level gameplay drag, and so much more. IIt genuinely feels like they (diablo dev team and leadership) don't play enough games and enough of their own game to see the flaws. Does anyone else feel like we, the players, are QA testing this game for them? A lot of this can steam from Joe Shelley and others coming from the WOW team cause these are all problems they've done in WOW.

    Everything was nerfed so that you reach endgame slower. Why? Because there is no endgame.

    The final straw for me was sitting in queue for the past two hours. That's nothing new for a veteran Blizzard games enjoyer, but today it really hurt for the first time.

    I have 15 kids 3 wives and 5 jobs, and as such I only get two hours to play each day.

    Not today, today I sat in the queue. I got in once, however. For a glorious 10 minutes I got to explore the new season content: invisible walls, rubberbanding, stuck in loading screen while trying to enter a cellar, now stuck in queue.

    As I am writing this, the game crashed after waiting in queue for 20 minutes again.

    Awesome "waiting in queue simulator". Sometimes it lets you play a forced always-online game which is fine for couple hours and boring wow-like after that. Online shop is always working fine and with 0 lag though

    This game is absolute garbage now. At first it was OK but this patch completely destroyed everything. Sorcerer is unplayable because of the massive damage reduction and instant death. What a joke of a game.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
