The gall of the developers at Blizzard now is outrageous. Save yourself the time, find something else to play. They way they dishonored their player base by literally destroying several builds and characters after 60-100+ hours, retroactively nerfing items that you farmed for, and completely breaking playstyles that existed. SAVE YOURSELF - HARD PASS.

I really enjoyed the campaign. But the developers agenda to turn this game into a full time job, and nerfing the fun in patch 1.1 has made this game unplayable. Don't give blizzard your money, they don't respect your time.

I have no reason to play ever again thanks to Blizzard’s idea of making this a live service online only. It got boring really quickly when 99% loot is vendor trash. So much lack of content once you’ve beaten the campaign. I once had faith in this game when they listened and increased EXP gains much higher in nightmare dungeons. YET they release this patch and did a 180, making grinding/leveling that much more difficult!! If they wanted to gut all the fun from the game, why release it with all the stuff they took away from their players, which was subpar to begin with….? Where’s all the cool uniques, aspects, build variety … or anything for that matter? The 1.1 patch clearly demonstrates Blizz does not respect your time or any actual player feedback. Expand

The thing is, diablo 4 was fun at first, until the dev team decided to slowly wreck everything up with either their ego or just pure stupidity. Diablo is fun due to its versatility on builds and items crafting/ hunting and also its level grind was bearable. Some how they manage to burry the game slowly with each patch, what a joke. What's need to be fix were constantly ignored while implementing nerfs on unneeded segments is pure JOKE, not sure the dev team trying to clown us or themselves at this point. Builds were suppose to be working from every classes are not working correctly ( they dont fix **** on every goddamn patch they impose, all they do is nerfing something else ) , zero quality of life ( even after tons of recommendation from users/ actual players have suggested ) they seems to be blind on this one, and finally it came to its glorious 1.1 patch, downright the most **** if not one of the patch in arpg history in recent years. You strip the fun out of the game you bunch of stubborn mules, why make a patch focusing to slow the entire game down? Nerf on exp gain, damage, affixes, armor, damage reduction and etc, like seriously? We were asking for endgame content, slowing the game down wasnt a content ffs, not at all. You guys dont like seeing people having fun is that it? or is it just a scheme to make the progress of season one direly slow so it would force people to do ingame purchase to level up the seasonal pass level? The list goes on but if you think nerfing the game on every patch is the way to keep the game going, well good luck on that, effing mules. Expand

Game was phenomenal with the original intent and design, but after a recent patch, the intent by the developers is to drive people away from the game to lower server populations with blanket reductions to capabilities, introducing class breaking flaws instead of providing corrections. Just another corporate money grab at this point. What a shame.

I started grinding real hard and hit level 100 with ALL renown complete. What frustrates me the most is this most ridiculous loot system of prodding through my inventory of rare items. Basically any unique is trash at this point and I have 3-5 copies of the same drops over and over. Uber-uniques are basically impossible to get 1 and 800,000 chance for a drop which is confusing.. Why can’t these Uber uniques have a much higher chance to drop in T70-100? What the hell is the point of T50 and above and the sigil dungeons are so bloody repetitive. Even with this new patch, the bosses are the same **** we fought in the last batch of terribly boring dungeons over and over. They also just increased the chests of mystery for 250 cinders with no better chances of higher tier loot. In addition, the drop rate for cinders is definitely less. For the most, these chests contain rares or trash legendaries to be sold to the vendors. Once you hit 100 needing mats is not necessary, just gold at this point. Then when you finally find something worthwhile, a rare item you go spend all the hard earned gold at the occultist to change one stat. I spent 20M gold rolling for crit chance on some new gloves that never rolled! I feel that this dev team doesn’t even play games. Maybe they are trying to sabotage the experience to get people to re download WOW because that one has to pay monthly sybscription. Whatever the case, the game is a disappointment to say the least. As an avid fan of the Diablo franchise, I must say that the latest patch, version 1.1, has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with the direction Diablo 4 is heading. This update, which was supposed to improve the game, has instead managed to ruin it completely.

To make matters worse, Diablo 4 managed to strip away the essence of an action role-playing game, delivering a hollow experience without real action or satisfying looting mechanics. The lack of engaging combat and rewarding loot progression leaves players questioning what happened to the beloved franchise they once knew. It's a disheartening departure from the very core that made Diablo games legendary, leaving fans yearning for the days of true action and meaningful loot drops.

I would estimate 1 in about 1000 rare items have the stats you want, so be prepared to sort out yellow items like you have never done in your entire life. It's like doing the laundry again and again for hours but you will never get finished. Open world had potential to be fun, but they killed it with patch 1.1 when open world mobs are capped 5 levels below you, so it is just a waste of time. This also makes questing worthless once you hit World Tier 4, so if you saves some quests you will get nothing from them. I was looking forward to this game a lot, and was prepared to forgive many issues, but the game is broken in so many ways that I cannot see how they will put this together into a fun game at all. Also, difficulty scaling is among the most broken I have ever seen. Before World tier 4 everything feels slow and it takes time to kill stuff and move around, and once you get a few upgrades in World Tier 4 everything suddenly is way too easy, and you will be killing world and dungeon bosses in just a few seconds. I always loved Diablo. Diablo IV doesnt feel like Diablo anymore, it is MMO and ARPG mixed, both genres with endless content, but the game doesnt have any content. You GET MORE damage, you DOI always loved Diablo. Diablo IV doesnt feel like Diablo anymore, it is MMO and ARPG mixed, both genres with endless content, but the game doesnt have any content. You are done in 2-4 weeks and bored. You could say the game is new, but the season 1 patch truly showed their real intention. There is not 1 thing that makes the game better in anyway in season 1. You GET MORE damage, you DO LESS damage, you take MORE TIME for the same thing. You are FORCED to do Openworld time restricted; helltides and they made it worse, taking you longer to get what you are there for. Nightmare Dungeons do not make any sense because you dont get XP and you dont have a reason to do that when your glyphs are max level (content missing here too)
The pinnacle boss cannot be beaten with every class or build, you will need the right build to be able to stand a chance. Thats actuallly ok, but not good design.
They lack several QoL features, even essential ones iike seing the possibilities of stats you could get or even showing numbers how high (funny that this is the core mechanic of fun; gearing up)

Forcing Online Mode is useless, you see others but never do anything with randoms.
They changed several things with XP which didnt make any sense, i was 100 in 3 weeks and they still buff it sometimes (or now nerf it)
They dont know what do to. They didnt add anything exciting to season 1.

Uniques in D4 are mostly trash because they have fixed stats you cant get lucky to get good stats. Most uniques have useless stats and are really just TRASH. (even meme legendary effects...)

All classes have barely no skill decision and are forced to use more defensive skills which makes all builds the same.

NM dungeons have stupid affixes, thats a game design choice, but it is not really cool or clever.
For example a lightning which kills you across the map if you are not inside a bubble, you cant split your team to be faster because you might kill your friend. Or the whole team dies because you rush the dungeon and cant go back because of a ladder (good job)

The game had to be at such a high price, because my standard skins look EXACTLY the same like the ones i can buy for 20 euro and no one ever buys this "cosmetics"
Im totally real this shop is the worst skin shop I've ever seen.

The developers are so far removed from their own game they have no idea what is going on.

They can't fix certain bugs but then and ruin other actual mechanics meant for the game because they can't figure out their own mistakes.

The developers sealed the fate of D4. What was meant to be an all-time great game will go down in flames if nothing is changed.

Developers didn't like the power levels attained by players so they did a class-wide nerf instead of making us higher tiered and more powerful content.
The players are suffering now for the lack of creativity of the developers and their laziness to put out more content.

The devs should be happy and proud their playerbase well-exceeded their expectations, but instead they are penalizing us to slow our progress because they don't want to have to come up with more/challenging content. Rather than rise to the challenge and make more content than they anticipated, they just nerfed everyone to set us back to what their predicted schedule was. It was a garbage move and they will ultimately pay for it. I as well as other friends are already losing interest and deciding which game to jump to next.

However, the quality of hack and slash games especially in an ARPG like Diablo 4 itself does not lie in the amount of mobs appearing and being killed, rather its how you kill them and the enjoyment you get from exploring, completing quests or dungeons, and enjoying the leveling while killing these mobs. Unfortunately, Diablo 4 fails at all of this. Leveling is quite a drag for the casual player and hardcore gamers have to put in some crazy hours to min-max for a boss that is seemingly unbeatable by the vast amount of the player base (Uber Lilith). Honestly wondering if they nerfed D4 to oblivion so they could spend less money on development and move on to another game. Season 1 is a huge insult, even reading the patch notes 'we feel'.... they use this far too much. Noone cares about what you feel, pay attention to you customers and the facts they have been providing since the start. Example: they took the worst class in the game and made it worse with 'we feel like' comments about how they had shoehorned us into specific specs if we were to compete with other classes, then nerfed us to oblivion to the point the game is no longer enjoyable or fun in end game. I could also be seeing this all wrong, maybe end game for blizz is how they end the game, except for the most desperate folks who just can't find something else to do or better to play. Again, don't trust a 'we will fix it', they might just do that, in a few seasons. Meanwhile, everyone should move on to other games.

The game is awesome, played the game from beta test i was impressed and the game was looking good, after the release the problems started : to much time waiting just to log in and play the game then the laags started and disconects and many other problems that was making the play time to be worse and worse and then they tried to fix the game and so on and we make it throw the end game, now with the first season on being released they released a patch (patch 1.1.0)before the season start
time and that was the worst patch i have ever seen and that made me quit the game i could not take it anymore , to much **** in that patch. Therefore this game become from Awesome to worst game play.

This game has a surprising amount of potential, but I have to agree with the current sentiment that the developers have no idea how to balance this game nor how to add rather than remove the fun.

Game was moderately enjoyable up until the 7/18/23 patch. Now, you guys have sucked all the fun out of this slogfest. I limp from enemy to enemy when i am not outright running from them. At level 93, I was soloing nightmare dungeons. Now I can't even make it to the end boss. Do you think this is fun? I don't have time for this crap. Shouldn't be that hard to see what has worked for other games, or even for past Diablo games. You guys seem to have developed a contempt for your player base. Well, right back at you. Expand

There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]

Diablo is back, and taking no prisoners. The top-quality, lengthy campaign will be enough for some, while the endgame should prove a welcome obsession for others. [Issue#30, p.84]
