    The most overhyped piece of trash I've ever played. Every Call of Duty game has been identical since 2007. The developers make very little effort to make the games exciting and this is no exception. If you already have MW2 or any other COD game for that matter, you certainly don't need this. There's absolutely nothing new on offer. Avoid like the plague.

    Its the same game as modern warfare 4. I cant believe the developers are actually charging full price for this garbage. It would have made sense to maybe make this a 30 dollar expansion,Being that the campaign is only 4-5 hours long, and the muti-player is simply a few tweaks here and there. Do your self a favor and put your money into something else

    HOW TO BRING DOWN A JUGGERNAUT------>i haven't played this game all that much (i did get to the second prestige), but it's the last call of duty i will ever have anything to do with. i have bought every call of duty since COD2 at xbox 360 launch and i will never buy another. it's got some to do with the fact that this game is very derivative of its predecessors, but it also has to do withHOW TO BRING DOWN A JUGGERNAUT------>i haven't played this game all that much (i did get to the second prestige), but it's the last call of duty i will ever have anything to do with. i have bought every call of duty since COD2 at xbox 360 launch and i will never buy another. it's got some to do with the fact that this game is very derivative of its predecessors, but it also has to do with the fact that somehow the COD formula has gotten boring. the way this game is set up, you get a concentration of all things bad about the COD franchise; incessant camping and snipers, unimaginative maps, and horrible lag. the real reason that i will from now on pass on any future COD title, however, is the way the game's producers have handled this elite premium debacle. like anyone else who has kept up with the series, i was aware of the agreement activision had with microsoft, and was familiar with the practice of xbox getting the maps first. however, COD representatives (even when pressed about this very issue) were, at best, evasive in answering questions about how that exclusivity would affect the release of maps for MW3. this caused me (who owns a 360 and a ps3 but prefers the ps3) to buy the ps3 version of the game because i felt i no longer had to consider the time difference for the dlc. i would have just got the xbox version had i known clearly that the microsoft/activision agreement remained. not only that, but activision found it to be a good idea to blame the fans for the confusion and continues to say nothing to the myriad angry fans. essentially, MW3 is an average game, there are much better online shooters out there, but the treatment fans (who have paid extra and even waited for midnight release because they were so fervent in appreciating activision's product) have received from activision as a result of this awful situation has me unable to buy any further COD iterations just on principle alone. i don't think i'm alone. i'd say the market is ripe for more fan-oriented shooters to eat into COD's bottom line, and the fact is that many of us will not be sorry to see this franchise's disrespectful actions result in the end of its dominant popularity.… Expand

    I wasn't even going to give a review (because it's all been said here many times already) until I saw the tweet from one of the dev's asking for us to give mw3 a positive review. I think the current user score is pretty much spot on. I got sucked in by the hype and paid for elite. Feeling like a bit of a chump now.     I don't understand why I keep buying COD games. They're all the same unimaginative, reused junk. It's not fun any longer. Back to BF3. Never buying another COD game, they're all the same and have been for years.

    The story has not changed much from former Call of duty series, going down a hallway, and shooting people. Some hallways are larger and some are smaller. And the multiplayer is generally not much different, dont waste your money this time around.

    Simply the worst game that ever came out. The dev guy asked on twitter for people to rate it up and for that alone it deserves to be downrated to hell.
    Story is bad, gameplay is same as in other ones, this could have been DLC to mw1.

    It's pathetic how they can churn out this game year after year, doing nothing but add some guns, textures and a new story.
    I believe "trolls" are entirely justified calling it things like "Modern Warfare 1.3" or "Modern Warfare 2.5" - it is little more than a map pack and it bemuses me how every year people can go out and buy it for £40.

    you love only money activision, and dont power up this old graphics, check bf3 for a seriuos 2011 graphics, Half of the sounds, equipment, perks, guns, and only one new attachment are in the game. 80% of the killstreaks are the same. modern warfare 3 just feels old already

    This game uses the same engine as Modern Warfare 2, doesn't show us anything new, the campaign is patethic, boring and way too easy, the multiplayer is more of the same (as I said already). Also, there will be alot of DLCs. Incredible, this game is probably the worst ever.

    The first CoD: Modern Warfare was a great game, all the others are just expensive map packs. There's absolutely no innovation, that's the sad truth; Activision destroyed this franchise. Don't ever waste your money on it.

    Maybe if they changed the game for once it'd be worth it. Not giving my money for, from what I've played, is a 60$ DLC, with a promised $60 of DLCs on the way. What a scam these guys are pulling off though. Should give the makers a higher score just for that...naaahhhhh.

    this game is such a piece of trash what a waste of $60. I basically paid for the exact same iteration minus a crappy 6 hour campaign last year Plus an even crappier 4 hour campaign. I don't know why I got suckered into buying this game (trash media hype) but can guarantee I'm not falling for this scam again.

    Turd out of 10! It's a half arsed attempt of a game! Another rushed out game that has made me wonder why I even brought this game it's MW2.5 no MW3! I can't believe I paid £70 for the hardened edition?!?! Black Ops even betters this! Back to Battlefield 3 I go!

    60 Euros map pack? It's time to make a stand and say to being exploited by these damn huge gaming corporations that took the fun out of our games and make them into cash grabbing schemes. Most worthless game out there and it's pretty clear by this point that all media taking covering this game got payed big money to cover for it's HUGE flaws.

    Bought this game, took it home, and played it. Then I realized the game I was playing was one that I already owned. I had owned several copies of this game. Why did I even go out and buy it? I thought it was new game, but I already have three of them.

    Well, after you eventually get into a game after 10 errors!

    More and more each year, the publisher start to care less about the hardcore gamer (who got them here in the first place) & more about $ signs. This is Modern Warfare 1.9, everything is the same as Modern Warfare 2 apart from weapons , which still kinda feel the same but just look different. The maps are new but worse in my opinion.

    Terrible game. Dated, incoherent, unbalanced and over priced. The single player is short but not short enough to make the holes in the plot disappear. And it lags terribly on the unbalanced, poorly designed multiplayer.

    noobtubes are still here. Freaking final stand is still here. ghost is making a comeback (albeit in 2 perks). All this coupled with unmemorable maps that are filled with narrow corridors and whatnot where corner campers can pop up even more hidden than before......................................

    Absolutely awful. The graphics are horrible, the sound is even worse, the movement just looks ridiculous, and the game play feels boring and rushed. If you already have any other call of duty game, save your money. This is the same exact thing with the same exact graphics and game play.

    this game is linear as hell, full of scripts, with stupid AI and stupid storyline. why the hell did everybody want to conquer the world?? and what then? provide the whole world and all of the conquered countries with food, water, electriciti and other stuff? i dont think that somebody needs this kind of problems. but gameplay is just awful. next time make a cartoon.

Nothing innovative here & the fact it still uses the same engine that cod4 used really tells you everything you need to know. Although BF3 has it's flaws at least it has brought something new to the table & requires skill. Looks like it's back to the store for a trade. Enjoy MW3 those thatMW3 brings nothing new.     There is no point to sugarcoat this, this game is modern warfare 2 with a few new maps, and even saying that is too much.     This is honestly just MW2.1 this is awful. I can't believe I stayed up and went to a midnight launch for this. Complete waste of money, i'm taking this back to the store after work today to trade it in (or return it if they let me) and get battlefield 3. God IW is so lazy this is more or less THE EXACT SAME GAME as MW2 with a couple minor tweaks. Waste of damn money.

I also find the multiplayer maps to be terrible. Not a single one of them is good. All of them are just a bunch of confined corridors and hallways. There are no open areas or vantage points at all.     Welcome to the Madden of fps! Every year they release essentially the same game with a few tweaks and a bit more graphics and tell you that you gotta have it. And just like the Madden series, no matter how few new features there are people will still snap it up. Rent before you buy, make sure you actually want this game!

    I feel sorry for the poor kids that don't know any better. The game is actually slowly killing the FPS genre and sucking the challenge out of it completely. The skill ceiling is now at an all time low

It's a bad game, and with so many people buying it every year and lining activision's pockets, its the cancer that will kill the videogaming industry. The user score just speaks volumes about the truth. Just remember, in 10 years time when gaming has become a subscription based, always online service that intrudes on every aspect and becomes extortionately expensive, you brought it on yourselves.     I was very disappointed with this game. The campaign is only 3 hours long and the story isn't very impressive. No amount of set pieces can make up for it. The graphics are showing their age. The multiplayer isn't any different from MW2 and they even reused textures and sounds. Looks almost identical.

    Played this, this morning and its just a desaturated mess of a game, the whole thing needs to be updated to make it good, the textures are low, the shadows are to dark, the lighting is terrible, the only colour seems to be shades of gray and the sounds are just annoying, bad show IW, Sledgehammer and Activition, bad show

    Hello Modern Warfare 2.5... Feeling like someone re-boxed an old mission pack addon for MW2 somewhat. Other than some slightly polished graphical updates, it's all same 'ol, same 'ol so far... disappointed with the whole game.

    I knew this would happen eventually. Activision using the same game engine year after year, treating this series as if its Guitar Hero, another series they ran into the ground. Activision is good at making money, but they have no idea what it means to be a gamer. They are out of touch, and this game is proof of that.

    Why would I want to play call of duty 4 again I've already played it twice I see no need to play it a third time! The story is no longer compelling, and is riddled with cliches and the multiplayer is just as boring as it was previously, now go play a good game such as leisure suit larry: box office bust

    Modern Warfare 3, more like Modern Warfare 2.1. Adding some new maps and guns is not a new title. It's a very expensive expansion pack. Activision better stop trying to ride the Call of Duty wave and get IW to produce an actual successor to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

    All they have done is reskinned blackops and added a few gimmicks. Blackops was a reskin of mw2. They publish half arsed games every year just to capitalise on sales. Only sheep would buy such a game. Awful campaign, again. All they have done is port the game over to the pc from console. No console, lean, configs, etc.

After 4 years they managed to make the COD serie WORST, they managed to sell so much games without bringing real new gameplay improvements. They single player, pathetic storyline.     I should have stuck to blackops, its just the exact same experience, i loved Zombies mode, and they took it out in this game. Since its not much a different game from the other COD, am quite angry. ;(

It's basically a re-skin of an old game. I was completely disappointed and I feel totally ripped off. My money is better spent on Battlefield3.

    I'm not gunna lie, this game is highly disappointing. Also, I've noticed a trend in all the cod reviews. It's basically paid critics vs user reviewers. Obviously the paid ones are going to give the game a much higher score even though it's **** and the users are going to give the game the score it deserves.

    As usual its another DLC and map pack but not only that you go back to lvl 1 you lose the ability to play all your old maps (unless you re buy them again at a later date) and the alternative to battlelog COD elite is PAID instead of free. Why do people keep buying these? Because there friends do why? because they think you will. It's a vicious cycle.

    There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
