    two many glitches returning from MW2, reused sound effects for new and old kill streaks, i thought this was supposed to be an improvement, but i was wrong, great job sledgehammer games, you killed the call of duty series

    First off it feels and looks identical to MW2 so they didn't spend that much time with tweeking the old engine. Then once you go online and realize that if you want to kill someone you better use the whole clip. The lag in the game is killing the game just look at the number of people who have dropped the game because of the lag.     Please don't waste you time on this game. It has so many flaws with the game play. Unless you enjoy playing against bots I suggest you find a different game that has had all the bugs worked out.
    It is impossible to play missions with a friend like advertised. I will be buying battlefield and throwing this junk game away.

    Remember when developers used to make sequels that added something new? Neither does Actiblizzard. I'd like to say this is the third time this game has come out- but considering black ops doesn't add anything new I'm starting to lose track of the number of times this exact game has been released. I have to give them props though- they've found an amazing way to milk suckers out of their money with zero effort; and look at how games everywhere are becoming crap as they try to emulate this money for nothing style of developing.

I have played it it IS THE SAME AS MW2. why would you buy it again ?? Activision is laughing all the way to the bank! This is pathetic and should have been released as an expansion pack nothing more!

    As a stand alone game, this is brilliant. Just the same as all of the other Call of Duty games of this generation. However that is also its problem. I would pay £10 for this game and not feel ripped off, but the £45 they are charging is ridiculous for regurgitated material

    Exactly the srame as the others, nothing new for my hard earned money. Boring on all fronts, in fact just rushed through it in 6 hours with no sound as I could not turn the in game music off!!!! WTF. NEVER BUY A COD AGAIN... back to skyrim clicking 150 hours of game play so far value for money....

    I played the game and the campaign was decent. But that was the only decent 3 hours of the game. Just go play Shivering Isles that was great DLC. But this expansion pack is sloppily executed, poorly written and is rife with kids screaming at you. Not fun.

    Having spent enough time playing this game, I can say keep your money. IW overcompensated it's lag compensation system thereby penalizing players with good to decent internet connections. I've gone back and started playing World at Wat again because this game is so bad. I should have waited to have gotten this used.     It is just horrible of activision to release this game because the developers would have needed more time to make this. The game is mostly copy-pasted from Modern Warfare 2 and i feel that the developers had some new ideas but with the lack of time they only implemented a few. i was saddened that this game sold so much and still it is essentially just Modern Warfare 2 with a fresh coat of paint.

    This game is a carbon copy of every other FPS out there. It has a TERRIBLE storyline on the campaign, multiplayer is (in my experience) full of douchebags, and this is exactly like MW1 and 2. there is absolutely nothing different. If you want a good FPS, buy Unreal Tournament, or one of the battlefields.

    This game is by far the worst game that Call of Duty has created. Infinity Ward should be ashamed by how this game came out. Game play has not changed since CoD 4 and the campaign did not live up to expectations in the slightest. In my opinion Infinity Ward should take every copy of this game to a skeeter shooting range and take a few hours to put a shotgun shell into every copy.

    modern warfare 3 was a HUGE letdown. Modern warfare 3 is basically an overpriced, over hyped modern warfare 2.5. Sniping is useless unless you quickscope because the spawning system will spawn people right on top of you. The spawning system is stupid to the point that ive been spawned in the middle of a gunfight and spawned in front of someone.

    This game is just unplayable. It's basically a DLC for MW2 that costs $60. The maps, guns, killstreaks are all just terrible, everyone camps online just to get killstreaks. Nobody plays the objective and every gun has Instakill built in, it's just so stupid. Black ops is much better, MW3 belongs in the trash.

Probably to stop camping, but it rather gives free deaths and free kills for your opponent. After you kill someone, don't be surprised that you meet the same person 2 seconds later. Online is way too laggy. Every patch they release makes the lag even worst. Their are also bad clipping issues. You get stuck onto items from the map like railings, boxes and rocks. This game is a money grabber. IW does not care about their fans. They have really lost their touch. All the good employees left. Thanks IW for making a really **** game. This game looks like you spent 2 minutes on it. That 2 minutes consists of copying MW2 and putting a new picture on it. There's a reason why the user score is the worst out of all COD games (check it out if you don't believe me). It's baffles me. I bought it as soon as it came out, played it twice, then put it away. It's literally been sitting sense 2 days after it came out. What a Joke.     The sound on mw3 is appaling, and next to bf3 its just embarresing!....the call of dutys have been in decline since mw2, and when they inevitably release mw4, it will not be able to stand against bf3 in terms of story, sound and graphics.

Sound is horrible! one thing that enjoyed about the FPS is how they 'try' to be accurate with the noise a certain gun makes. That noise gives the game some realism. This game however, is horrible! All the guns sound like BB/water guns. Maps are boring too!    … Expand

    I was a Black Ops junkie... when i bought this game, I started to play Battlefield 3 (traded for MW3). The maps are very boring, there is no way to play with sniper well, the game is made only for unrealistic hardcore gamers... and too much things to understand and think, almost a RPG... I only want to shoot!!!

Resistance 3 is a great shooter, it has no regenerating health, no cover mechanics and 10 weapon slots, capturing the spirit of the by-gone age of shooters (Half-Life 2, Serious Sam, Painkiller) with a great story, brilliant multi-player and a truly unforgettable story, is shunned because MW3 came out within the same few months. Now I don't hate MW3 because it's brown, boring, repetitive, poorly paced, has poor production value, is poorly made, has poor story, is stale, not challenging, with bland characters, a poor story, and only 7 hours long, I hate it because of what it represents. 'Hey, Infinity Ward, do you mind if I don't play the multi-player and instead play the single-player only?' 'No! Because we spent all our 6 months of hard work on changing the textures, character models and programming routines of COD4's multi-player and releasing it again in MW3, and if you only play the single-player you will realize that you spent $60 on a handful of multi-player maps, so do you mind if we force you to play multi-player?' 'Kind of do, Infinity Ward' ' I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of all my MONEY!' I can tell you this: there are two kinds of games in this putrid world of ours, those who are made mainly because developers thought it would be a lovely thing for everyone to play (Limbo, Bastion, Psychonauts) and those who are made mainly because the developers thought it would be lovely to add another ballroom to their golden money palace (BioShock 2, Dragon Age 2, Kane and Lynch 2). And you know how I can tell MW3 is in the second camp? Because it has a '3' on the end of it. It's a sequel to a sequel that never needed a sequel, it was fine on its own! But because Innovation to Infinity Ward is what cheeseburgers are to a lactose intolerant Hindu, we are left with this pile of old wank that got an 88 Metascore and we're all left scratching our head. You know, sometimes things our popular for a reason, because they're good, or because Will Smith is in it, but because MW3 is neither of those two, I am left wondering why MW3 was critically acclaimed and on top of that, was the biggest entertainment launch of all time. It saddens me, there have been so many better games, and it still would of angered me if MW3 was at least decent, because decent games don't deserve this much money thrown at them as if they are linked to the pneumonic plague, and after playing Resistance 3 and that Hard Reset thing which is like Painkiller if they chose one of Phillip K.Dicks most incomprehensible plots, it mystifies me how people think MW3 is a better shooter. They are designed so that no matter where you are in the map and no matter what direction you are facing, there is an enemy behind you. Enemies do not spawn with their teammates, and will instead spawn directly behind you. The guns are all the same. There is permanent lag, even with full bars. The only good part of this game was the campaign, which will take you around 2 hours to beat if you really stretch it out.     Worst piece of crap ever. I loved MW2 even with it's minor flaws. But my goodness, this game is and it's flaws becomes gamebreaking. HORRIBLE maps, worst lag to date, crappy spawns. Save your money and buy something else. This game is not worth it. Sadly I was pressured into buying it from friends and family.

    If this game were to be released on its own without the huge number of previous Call of Duties, then it would have gotten the praise it got deservedly so. But the game just feels extremely repetitive and brings almost nothing new to the series.     This game hasn't changed since MW2, all the newbs playing MW3 never even played the classic CODS like MW, WOW, and MW2 (BO doesn't count but its not bad :) ). The only people defending MW3 are those how haven't played the classics and to be a vet you have to play the classics. As A vet of COD, I feel that COD has died and its time to move on to a game less money hungry like BF3.

    It's very sad, that people give a developer credit for lazy work. Half of the sounds, equipment, perks, guns, and only one new attachment are in the game. 80% of the killstreaks are the same. And you always the get the felling "I have done this before". Survival is sorry attempted at zombies and fails flat.

I dealt with me not being a big black ops fan and was willing to buy MW3, but this game is so bad i will never buy another call of duty until Slactivision and Infinity Whored (money whores) get their act together. And 4 DLC's? That is 60$Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is one of the worst games i have ever played. This Game Has almost no map design, its just grey hallways with boxes. Yay.     Just an expensive mod for modern warfare 2. Multiplayer was atrocious but, the single player was alright. Survival was just a cheap rip off of zombies. Everything was extremely similar to modern warfare 2.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok, so back in 2011 before release, I was very hyped for the game. I checked the news every day for it. And when It came out, I got it. I played it and realized ive wasted 20 hours of my life on what could be not only the worst CoD ever, but one of the worst games in general, on par with Sonic 2006.

    Story: The campaign is one big hammer in the coffin for the CoD single player aspect due to how awful it is. It was only one big train wreck start to finish. There are no memeroable characters whatsoever in MW3. Even the returning ones like Soap and Price are reduced to generic clones and Soap took a major downfall in badassness due to **** story planning. The main protagonist is a terrible addition as Yuri is basically only an excuse for IW to not have you play as Soap or Price until the last level. The voice acting is bad and EVERY. SINGLE. Character sound like they all share the same voice actor. Soap gets killed of for no damn reason. There are more plot holes than swiss chesse. After 15 levels of Makarov and bad guys winning or escaping due to some asspull, the final level is a polished golden turd. While I do like PC speaking FOR ONCE because you play as Price, the level is a big mashup of random Michael Bay explosions, **** floors, random bizarre **** happining like asspulled nukecopters, and a stupid final fight which results in Yuri shooting Makarov 1000 times in the head before Makarov shooting Yuri to death so Price can kill Makarov in the most anti-climatic way possible. Not only that, but it ends there, providing ZERO after-ending and any fix in plot holes like what happened to Frost since he misteriously dissappears. Who wrote this? Helen Keller?

    Co-op/spec-ops: What? Do people play it?

    Graphics: Basically MW2 graphics with make up. The M4A1, however, looks uglier and resembles a gym member who never works his body or legs

    Authenticy: IW seems to have done ZERO research on armies and weapons. No IW, Delta Force dosent use M16's. And Russian soldiers dont use AK47's anymore

    Multiplayer: A big **** of unbalance, hackers and claustraphobic maps. The weapons and gear have zero balance so everything is a one hit kill from Type 95. This game is so easy to hack ive seen hacks on it regularly, Hell hacks have been freely given away like marijuana on several websites. Once I shot a god-moder 30 times with a UMP45. He ran at me with a knife. You can guess what happens next. Maps are **** small, smaller than Counter strike maps so IW can continue the dumb 6 vs 6 trend because they're **** and a bomber can kill off 75% of the map

    What I hate the most are the fans who praise this as the best game of all time like Ocarina of Time. It bares a closer resemelence to turds like Ride to hell: Retribution or Sonic 2006. Its not as low as Big Rigs because Big Rigs has zero gameplay. I find Nicolas Cage marathons more pleasurable.

    this is an absolute rubbish console port for the pc. unfair multiplayer with no ranked dedis, bad graphics, no special pc abilities... infinity ward reprinted mw2 with a 3 on the end and activision is digging people's pockets for money. at least the singleplayer's not bad. campaign is crazy as always and spec ops is fun with friends

    There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
