    This game is an absolute let down. The campaign mode was a huge disappointment, with almost nothing unique to offer. Just like the multiplayer, except more bad guys and annoying messages telling you that you died. "You were blown up by a grenade!" Yeah, no **** The multiplayer is horrid as well. Games are near impossible to connect to, with every 3 out of 4 games either lagging out or notThis game is an absolute let down.     Just rented it, to test it out, and it's just the same old crap. Nothing original. Just trying to ride out the money train. Campaign is the same monotonous, "kill generic bad guys to get to the next scripted event", garbage. You can just play any other modern warfare to get the same multiplayer

    For the people still haven't bought this game yet, Don't buy this rehash Crap that could easily been DLC. Deffinetly not worth $60, its MW2.0. The game was given to me as present and Dissapointed in how much its the same crap, save your $ people buy skyrum or something that has changed and not ripping people off!!!!

    Terrible game. Cut and paste of mw2. It is so bad, don't even try it out. Barely anything has changed and it sucks. It is just a $60 dollar expansion pack.

    MW3 is a carbon copy of MW2. FACT! The guns are mediocre at best. The lag is atrocious. The maps are a similar layout to MW2 (In fact its just like a $60 map-pack) And..worst of all....Activisions laziness is evident in everything from the fonts to the trademark chickens they have clucking around the place. I'd say they didn't have to do a tap of work on this product 'coz its all the same!!!

    Then there's the positive reviews...they elude me completely!!! I have no clue how a trusted reviewer could recommend you spend your hard-earned-cash on something so substandard. This leads me to the conclusion that brown envelopes must be involved.

    Then you have Glen Schoefield BEGGING...that's right...BEGGING (google it) players to give it a good review on metacritic...and that just annoys me so much more!!! Begging us to make them more money when it clearly is...NOT...DESERVED.

    On an finishing note...I honestly hope the world learns from this disgrace. And going by user reviews the world over.....it looks like the COD fanbase is already falling apart. Enjoy my $60, Activision. I hope you buy yourself something nice.    … Expand

    This game sucks so bad that I created this account specifically to give it a zero and comment on how crappy it is. I'm going back to playing black ops. It's really that bad. Horrible multiplayer. Short as hell singleplayer. There's no reason to own this thing. Rent it or borrow it from a friend. At the very least you would think they should have the voice chat working right.     I'm not willing to give a company money for rehashing the same thing they made two years ago. No innovation here. Not worthy of a score. Not to mention it's pathetic that a developer has to beg for his game's score to be boosted.

    New games used to be an improvement upon each subsequent title, bringing fresh ideas, better graphics, and, improvement. Sadly MW3 is non of these. Some say it's a copy and paste game, and I disagree as each subsequent copy loses something - originality and functionality. The maps feel similar in multiplayer, the layouts are the same with a few extras thrown in.     12 Hours of single payer game play. Holds true to the COD franchise's lack of content from the past 3 installments. Though those 12 hours of gameplay was more compelling than Black Ops, I still feel incredibly cheated out of $60.

    Online play is no better than Black Ops. Not just graphically, but the levels almost look like the same levels as BO... Laggy servers, gives laggy movements and    12 Hours of single payer game play. Holds true to the COD franchise's lack of content from the past 3 installments. Though those 12 hours of gameplay was more compelling than Black Ops, I still feel incredibly cheated out of $60.

    Re-packing a small MW2 DLC map pack and charging $60 is just crazy. The game is very linear, and there's not much challenge/strategy. You follow the white dot from point to point. I was hoping for some innovation and new features, but found neither.

    Terrible, terrible game. What more is there too say? Most of these reviews hit the nail right on the head when it comes to explaining why it has such a low User Score. So I am not going to bother repeating what's been said. I'm going back to BF3 and will stay there till Infinity Wart learns the definitions of the words ''Innovation" and "Upgrade.'' That is all.

    $60 map pack, Elite is just an extension of Activision's ego as if we don't have anything else to spend our money on this november. This franchise either needs to: take a few years off or just die slowly in a fire.

Activation just pumps these things out with out any thought to make mad bank off high-schooler's parent's dime. it seems the reason a huge chuck of infinity ward's staff left is because they couldn't bare the continued commercialization and pipe line that produces the same old game year after year.this video-game is the biggest waste of money, i haven't enjoyed a COD game since MW1.     This is just a reskin of Modern Warfare 2, you're better off sticking with the second one. It lacks any shred of innovation over previous games and even though they reused 90% of the content from the last game they didn't make any effort to add more content like a longer single player or more multiplayer maps.

    the game is equal to the lower version, it seems hard, but with the faults they have. Above all they will then try to collect DLC will not be invented, but always the same as emblems, logos copies of the game other versions

    Amazing that people think the low user score is down to BF3 trolls. I bought MW3 for £40 and it is essentially a frickin' map pack. I could forgive the fact they're still using the dated IW engine if this was brimming with new features and innovations, but this is just a shocking effort - go back to the drawing board already.

    Thanks Activision. I'm highly enjoying my $60 dlc for MW2. What gives? All of my prestige's are gone! Now how will I spawn camp all the 12 year old kids who got there parents to wait in line for there new map packs?

    The developers completely **** this game up. The map design is horrendous, I can't walk around a corner without getting shot because there are too many places the enemy can come from. There is no recoil on the guns which makes it possible for the biggest noobs to kill you from a distance.     just the same old mw1 and 2 why would they charge 60bucks for a game thats 5yrs old with a new story idk but there dlcs are 15dollars a peice so add that together 5 new maps is 50bucks or more and thats all they did with mw2 a complete rip off why not use the black ops engine its newer bad company 2 is crushing this game even bf3 way ahead of there time

    Sad. Literally. It takes up the most powerful game developer to repackage the same sounds, models, textures.

    If you played almost ANY Call of Duty, you ain't missing anything. This game is the same recycled trash from 2007. From a Call of Duty fan, I am disappointed, glad I only rented it.

    This game blows, if i wanted this, i would've just put my MW2 disc back in my console, this is some of the most expensive DLC i have ever seen. I could've bought 6 copies of motorstorm one and it would've been a wiser investment than this! Its the same stuff rehashed and re-used constantly, graphics are amazing.. three years ago..     Having listened to all the hype surrounding MW3 i was really excited to get the game, But after playing the multiplayer for a couple of hours i feel sorely disappointed and really let down....... It's just the same old crap all over again and i've gotten to the stage i don't even want to try the single player game.     Adding my voice to the Zero crowd, I find it to be shameful to have zero innovation in such games, this is not a FIFA game you are not constrained. Also because what Activision Blizzard did to infinity ward was just nasty.

    I pre-ordered both BF3 and MW3... And, i can not see differences between MW2 & MW3... THIS IS THE SAME **** GAME. The only new feature is the system to get screwed in the long term with cod elite...

Its amazing that activision continues to rob people of their money by creating the exact same crap and charging people 65 dollars. MW3 is basically mw2.5. It is so similar that it feels like your playing mw2. People continue to throw their money away because of the name call of duty.

    Activision can shove mw3 right up there you know what. You have so many fans who love call of duty and you make an identical game because you know it will sell millions of copies no matter what. Activisions Bobby Kotick is a greedy idiot who ruining the game industry. I will never buy another cod game since there are game developers out there that deserve better like Naughty Dog.

I also noticed that the ps3 version had very poor sound quality compared to my xbox version, with the sound getting crowded and scratchy when there was a lot of action on screen. The character models and textures were a real disappointment, particularly compared to Battlefield 3. MyThis game was a bit boring.     What about MW3 then? Zero, nada, zilch! Same graphics engine, same physics, same poor lighting effects. This stuff was barely good-looking in 2009's MW2, let alone now where other games have caught up SO MUCH.
    I don't play BF3, but cannot deny how amazing it looks. Uncharted 3 even refined its graphics over the previous one. Batman Arkham City made an environment that is so huge it will take you weeks to cover. MW3? Another 5 hour campaign with piss-poor visuals and same old gameplay.

    And while it's fair to say that the CoD formula is what we should expect for each new instalment, I don't expect to find the SAME BUGS THAT WERE PRESENT IN 2007 FOR MW1!!! Seriously, 4 years and 4 CoD games with the same bugs, same AI issues, same graphics, same sounds. If the "CoD formula was PERFECT", then they could re-release the sahem thing. It's not!

    Horrendous! 5 hours to complete the single player and nothing new from MW or MW2. Multiplayer is also a total copy paste from the previous versions. Exactly the same just new maps. V Disappointed. Not sure how IGN or Gamespot can give this btw 9 and 10!!

    Modern Warfare 3 is little more than another $59.99 map pack for Call of Duty 4. It's really time that Activision did more than just employing 2 game developers to move building around on maps, change some textures and some minor tweaking of features and then calling it a new game. So lame.

    Battlefield on the other hand is the opposite. They actually took the suggestons of the COD community and implemented them. Full browsing with ranked dedicated servers and up to 64 players in a game. The max I've been in was a 32 player game and lag wasn't there and none of the Console game host migration BS.
    The graphics are also a big disappointment. They are once again the quality of XBOX and nowhere near what they should be on a higher end machine. Even the sounds are scrrewy. The guns are muffled like some liberal teacher made them, not wanting to expose people to the correct sounds of war. All I can say is give BF3 a try. Besides the vehicles you'll think you're playing the game you thought MW3 would be.    … Expand

    I don't know how "Activision" can launch this kind of games. Call of duty: MW3 is the same game that MW2; the same graphics, weapons and the same strategy.
    MW3 is not a emulator of the real live but a simple arcade.
    I put 1 because this game is really an actualization of mw2 and NOT A NEW GAME.

    Very, very disappointing. Barely any work put into this game at all. Spawn next to an enemy happens far too frequently and I seem to lose connection a whole lot. The game engine has barely improved since CoD4. They seem to sit back, do as little work possible and just rake in the money because it carries the Call of Duty name. That won't last much longer.

    Modern Warfare 3, more like Modern Warfare 2.1. Adding some new maps and guns is not a new title. It's a very expensive expansion pack. Activision better stop trying to ride the Call of Duty wave and get IW to produce an actual successor to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

    I have been a call of duty fan my whole life until now. I couldnt believe how dissapointed I was with mw3. I thought it would be a great game instead it turns out to be a stupid map pack that they could have just offered gamers of mw2 to download. Now I will be trading this game in for Uncharted 3, a game that developers actually took there time to make and made a great game

The campaign does not feel like a modern warfare game again due to the locations and the lack of emotional attachment to the characters. The story is easily forgotten. I feel that the developers did not changed the multiplayer gameplay at all. Unlike the jump from COD 4 to COD 6, this hasPersonally i feel the maps are a disappointment on multiplayer.     Modern Warfare 3 comes with 16 maps that are cramped and claustrophobic and labyrinthine. There are some occasional medium range areas. There is no real place to camp or take a breather. The maps tend to be rewarding to the run and gun play style, while punishing the cautious and camp styles. Guns: The guns in Black Ops have differences. While there are a handful of guns that are best for most situations, any decent player can excel with any of the guns available. Remember Chernobyl and the funfair bit, how hardcore that could seem. None of this here, you are nannied though the game so as just to keep the pace and hopefully the gullible are blown away by bells and whistles. Infinity ward must think we are thick. Thinking they can exchange challenge with Hollywood glamour and stunts. Sorry not buying it. The blind could complete this auto aiming joke of a fps. Even Duke nukem forever requires you to aim and that's in the bargain bin. The multiplayer is made up of poorly designed maps that are reminiscent of a garden maze. Every area is a clostrophobics nightmare. There are no opens spaces as such it's box after box of personal space invasion. I've tried so hard to love this game but I just can't. I'm not a hater I queued up at midnight to get this and came away gutted. It's just a frag rest online due to bottle kneck maps. It's so predictable that you can guarentee after 1 kill someone is already on top of you and taking you out. Or your getting spawn raped I HOPE RESPAWN ENTERTAINMENT deliver on their promise to destroy their own baby because this game is a bastard child of activision/blizzard. Infinity ward you have lost your soul. This is a cash machine nothing more. Go buy Skyrin that's an excellent game. Epic fail on mw3 , and no I'm not a hater and no I'm not being paid by ea to write this I'm just genuinely gutted that this game is so poor. Bollocks to the critic scores. This game offers nothing new and to top it off they've ruined the killstreaks system. They even reused map layouts from mw1.     Feels like a $60 map pack. Close to zero adds. If you told me I was playing MW2, I'd believe it. Same load screens w/ different pics, same load out, same physics (or lack there of).

    I want my $60 back so I can buy an actual new and fresh game like BF3.

    I pull 2.0 KDR easily and I still find this game **** I'm not even getting owned... it's just godamn awful. Black Ops was a very easy game, but at least it was fun. This game is about as fun as getting a tobasco enema.

    60$ dlc I expect more from the big gaming company's. 2 years and all I get is a re-skinned version of MW2 with a changed leveling/perk system. Activision has the number 1 selling game out and they can not even improve their engine. They all are sitting on their fat bank account laughing at the consumers.

    no ranked dedicated servers, re-made maps, small maps, the same peer-to-peer cra*p ... need more? the game is filled with hackers and the anticheat is sooo damn insecure, devs now dont give a damn for the community. kottic ruined this game, he has made every possible jew insult reallity

    I actually signed up to write this review and thats saying something. Single player is not bad but multiplayer OMG. I have a 20mb connection based in the UK and half the time cannot join games or play with friends.
    On the back of this you can unload a full magazine in to players backs whilst there unaware and they do not register. Looking at the replays they've been shooting you forever.     There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
