    - Story only lasts 10 hours or less
    - very boring leveling after level 50 but it takes like 50 hours to get level 100
    - I hate the skill und item progression maybe it gets more fun after level 100 but it feels too much like a waste of time.

Also waste of 70€ unfortunately. I played most of the time alone and had really more fun with a 20 € Chained Echoes.

this game is horrible. let me start by saying the price. too much. and whats included with it, in game micro transactions for something that costs way too much.

second, the balancing. its a fat **** joke. like A FAT ONE. if you wanted to play necromancer and play minions be prepared to suck total ass and change to a no minion build later. third, the cc and random off screen deaths.

third, the cc and random off screen deaths. its beyond frustrating i dont even wish to describe it cause someone will knock on my door

fourth, even after picking ur class, playing for a bit figure out what you need to do only to realize you were new and have no clue and ur build sucks but now you gotta waste all your resources to change and pray to the fkin gods ur new build isnt **** unless ur stuck in the middle of a fkin creek with no paddle.

five, the only good reviews of this game are from die hard fans that will buy any pile of garbage blizz puts out. in which case they dont need this review cuase they already have it. but for the average gamer. plz direct yourself to the rest of the reviews cause its a hot pile of ****.

six, the graphics are good only thing ill give it, but unless you have an insane monster of a pc machine you wont be able to enjoy cuase this game opitmization is garbage and consumes resources like theres no tomorrow talking like 8k vram easy

It's a great addition to the Diablo franchise. One you finish the story acts, the game opens up in terms of quests and activities to do. I invest about an hour or so a day in the game and call it good.

The story had potential, but honestly feels very watered down and lacking in all the lore it should have. It makes you ask questions then doesn't answer them.

Enemy Scaling and open world is a really bad choice. You level and get weaker as enemies get stronger and your gear and abilities get weaker in comparison. Loot is pretty meh, you can only go up to world tier 2 in the story but you can hit the Soft level cap of 50 anywhere and if you hit that, the game grinds to a progression halt. WT2 will rarely ever gives you gear over 40 despite fighting enemies 50+, so if you go through an area and do all you can while you're there it becomes pointless. Quest rewards are good for selling or breaking. Legendary stuff ends up 5 levels lower than the level of normal drops so you can kill a level 50 enemy, it can drop a level 40 yellow and a level 35 legendary in my experience. You can only go above world tier 2 after you complete the game, which implies it better to rush the story to actually make doing the side stuff worth while. But then you realise that post game is just a boring grind. A terrible variety of monsters, mobs and dungeons. It all feels very gloomy and copy and paste. The bosses in dungeons barely drop anything and you have about 7 bosses in total for around 100 dungeons, so it gets stale really fast.

Most of the good looking gear that should be in game, is behind a pay wall, Streamer event or even an Amazon Prime add on. Do you need it? No, but if I've just paid 60quid for a game, I would like there to actually be in game content that looks good and not the other 50% of cosmetics being behind pay walls or to the benefit of streamers. You could call it FOMO, you can also call it greed.

Post game gets even worse though. After you enter World Tier 3 it then adds "sacred" loot. Basically upto level 50 is character building directly, after that is a paragon point grind for maximising stats. So at level 65, normal guy will drop and it will be around lvl45, sacred gear can also drop which should be at your lvl, being 65. Thing is, that is not guaranteed, neither are legendaries being at your level and I have had Sacred unique legendaries drop 7 levels higher than my current gear and be WORSE! so the grind gets even harder and less worth it a good 7/10 times.

The game is so scared of being anything colourful or whacky like Diablo 3 was, which for the record I loved, it is just grey, dark, gloomy and miserable. It lacks character and soul, it's like some edgelord teenager trying to be as grim as possible.

Then comes the online only aspect, so when they screw things up which they have several times already, you can't play. Then there's the season pass, which is a paywall for more content every 3 months, in which you have to do all the aforementioned grinding on a new character to be rewarded cosmetics they they could just add into the loot pool.

Absolute farse and a robbery. The hype this game has is because it is a Diablo game with die hard fans and likely paid reviews.

Probably the worst offering in Diablo's history. Not sure what the developers were thinking, but I am not a happy camper. Got the game as a father's day present from my kids (They bought the Ultimate Edition for me, which makes me sad as it adds NOTHING to the game play experience.

My number one beef with this game is the open world, always online, live service nature of the buiid.

My number one beef with this game is the open world, always online, live service nature of the buiid. You CANNOT play this game solo, and you cannot have a "Private game". While dungeons are instanced, the "over world" is not.

Also gone are the procedurally generated areas of the past. Once you've explored the areas, they are static. Gone too are cleared areas. Mobs respawn now like a MMORPG, usually after about five minutes.

The level progression system is overly complicated and makes little sense. One no longer levels up stats and instead are reliant on whatever hard-coded increases the developers have chosen for your class. Many of the benefits of leveling up are opaque, and new systems are confusing: What the hell is a Lucky Strike? How is that different from a critical hit? What is Overpower?

I'm not done, though, gentle reader. No, the Lore makes zero sense and fails to follow a unified narrative. The decision to allow any chapter to be completed in any order just makes the game confusing. Why have chapters if there is no order to the narrative? Also making little sense is giving a "Demon" powers of creation. It's no secret or spoiler to say that Lilith is given credit for the creation of Sanctuary, the question is WHY? She's a demon, not a god. Demons destroy, they cannot create.

Gone also is Holy magic or any kind of Holy Warrior / Priest character, which is really bizarre when considering that we're playing a game of Angels vs Demons vs Humanity.

Skip this game. It's not worth 70 dollars, much less 99 dollars for the Ultimate Edition.

I'd love to give diablo 4 a higher rating based on what they did well, but I can't.

    Why can't I? Because I can't log in. Again.

Because every single action I take is disgustingly laggy in a game that could have been awesome offline.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Always online "Live Service" is ruining the game for me.

I can understand that they don't want people to pirate the game, but I just want to be able to play it.
I want to be able to log in and play the game. I have been running into server, login, license, and connection issues since launch. I did not want an MMO experience. I play this game in single-player the VAST majority of the time.

I am actually writing this review instead of playing the game after trying to log in for the last 45 minutes.

The art style and music are amazing.

Characters have limited ways to play. At first glance, it looks like there is a lot of build diversity, but there aren't really that many truly viable things. Just look at the Necromancer. They only have one ability that gives unstoppable so that skill is on literally every build. Nearly every build Has decrepify to lower cooldowns. Minions are so bad that people actively gimp themselves by using it.
Barbarians have a similar issue with shouts.

The horse does not handle pathfinding very well. You have to get to act 3 to grab the horse.
This means many people rush through the campaign to grab the Horse....This is not good for the health of the campaign.

Many of the legendary aspects look exactly the same in the inventory. Managing stash tabs, inventory, and vendors is just a pain.

Why in the world do we have quick salvage buttons for the blacksmith but no quick sell buttons for the Merchants.

Why can we not see our total Obal Capacity beside the current amount (Its in another menu.)

Why did they give all the other Classes movement skills except for the Necro? Why does the Necro's blight obscure literally everything under it?

Why is there no Gem Bag?

Why does Enchanting not have an upper limit for cost?

Enemy Crowd Control effects are just obnoxious.

EVERY Dungeon is the Exact Same, and for every dungeon they roll between 3-4 different Bosses, so you fight all the time the same set of monsters. It don‘t mather, then the Gearing the Affixes are not to bad but no Crafting despite yoz can change 1 ONE affix on an item, abd changing that butcher the gold you get, so even a Milionaire will be broke after you try to roll a decent item, then there are faaar to much useless stats in the game, Also itemisation don‘t feel rewarding, in a game where Looting and Leveling is the Basic Essence of the Genre, D4 don‘t know if will be an ARPG or an MMO and so do I, i Liked the game at Start, but the more i Play the more i feel like, besides the Grafic and Cinematics that its an Indie game, and not a Multi Million Dollar Production, and thats just the Surface… i wish i could like the game, but at this stage, i would recomend wait a few months/years maybe they need to do the same as they done back in D3 where Vanilla was hard BS and then Reaper of Souls have bring it back on the menu, maybe the Seasons will bring something on the table, but as it is now, i cant recomend it, its males fun as far you can play the main story but afterwards there absolutly no urge to play, just brainless grind the same dungeons over and over… and the dungeons are not good besides that. So if you lile to play a good ARPG better look on Something like Last Epoch or Path of Exile, there the Devs interact with the Playerbase and give Feedback, cuz Blizz is blinded by theyr own Arrogance.

While the game initially showcases promise, it unfortunately falls short in several key areas, leading to a disappointing overall experience. It is imperative to address the numerous technical issues that have greatly impacted my time with the game. Countless disconnections and server instabilities have forced me to replay missions, resulting in a frustrating waste of valuable hours. Furthermore, the cumbersome queue system required just to access the game often leads to error messages such as "Unable to find valid license for Diablo IV. (Code 315306)," which is unacceptable for a title that I have purchased. The frequency of these problems has pushed me to contemplate initiating a credit card chargeback, a measure I rarely consider.

One of the most glaring flaws of Diablo IV is its repetitive gameplay. Despite a promising start, the game quickly descends into monotony, with a lack of fresh and engaging mechanics. Additionally, the bosses in the game fail to deliver the thrilling and memorable encounters that fans of the franchise have come to expect. The narrative, unfortunately, follows suit with a subpar storyline that fails to captivate and falls short of the series' established standards.

The art direction of Diablo IV feels disjointed and lacking a cohesive vision. It seems as if an AI artist collaborated with an inexperienced designer, resulting in an unimpressive visual presentation. This departure from the series' iconic aesthetics is disappointing, as it fails to capture the dark and immersive atmosphere that made the previous entries so memorable.

While Diablo III had its flaws, Diablo IV manages to surpass it in disappointment, earning the title of the worst game in the franchise and one of the most underwhelming experiences I have encountered this year. Despite the initial promise and potential, the numerous technical issues, repetitive gameplay, lackluster boss encounters, uninspiring narrative, and disjointed art direction culminate in an unsatisfactory release.

Fun for a while, but once you get your gear pretty set there is no point in playing except to see slightly bigger numbers from your paragon tree. Want to farm for another character to actually feel powerful? Tough luck, gear drops with a lvl requirement for your current character.

There is potential, but there is a lot of work to be done.

The campaign is a masterpiece. Blizzard’s story-telling is unmatched. The game's art is absolutely stunning and the world is massive. Overall though, the game is missing a lot of depth and gets old pretty quick. Hopefully seasons will fix this and introduce more interesting things to the endgame. 70-100 feels pretty pointless.

Gone are the days of big packs of monsters exploding across the screen, of fun legendaries that completely transform your character, and the freedom the explore different combinations. In their place is a grueling slogfest of tiny incremental power gains, the worst itemization ever seen in an ARPG, unnecessary MMO elements, and level scaling that makes the game feel exactly the same from levels 20 to 70 plus.

Diablo 4 tool the worst parts of WoW and shoehorned them into an ARPG format, while ignoring all the great work done by ARPGs in the last decade, from Torchlight to Path of Exile to Last Epoch to Titan's Quest.

The game is exceptionally boring for an ARPG, and the campaign was more tedious than fun. The world feels dead and empty the whole time, largely due to the lack of matchmaking and trading. You just fight off endless hordes of same same enemies using your same same skills that never really meaningfully change. Progression is kneecapped by a simplistic skill tree, expensive respecs, and the everlasting grind that never rewards you with a feeling of power. Itemization, both loot and crafting, are so terribly uninspired and watered down that there isn't really much to speak of. D4's legendaries would barely qualify as mid level rares in other games, and have trivially interesting effects on your build.

Overall a good looking but boring game that wears off its novelty within days and stops being enjoyable after a couple weeks. Too bad. Give it a pass now and see if it gets any better after a few years.

The bandits dragging an anxious monk through dark vaults seemed to just be a generic tease for the typical moment to moment gameplay. It all changes when Elias reveals himself and begins the ritual to summon Lilith and kicks off the next chapter of a story that I wouldn’t have expected to be this good. In a great move to get back in touch with the franchise’s roots, the story plays out as the wanderer is following their trail close behind dealing with the depravity left in their wake. It was the darkness of Diablo 2 but upgraded with modern storytelling tools that made you feel the sense of urgency missing in that game. Through gorgeous cinematics, gruff penetrating dialogue from Lorath, and a large handful of perfectly placed lore texts on relics and objects D4 gives you a near perfect story delivery and pays off with the journey and destination colliding in the end. I was wrong to doubt you, Blizzard.
Diablo 4, like its predecessors, is two different games. The brilliance of that opening trailer was I think it appealed and excited fans of both. The first game is navigating your character through this brutal story which brought back some much-needed hell back to the franchise. At multiple points I physically tensed up at the horrific displays of torture, gore, and body mutilation you would expect from a game all about demons. The game hits hard with action from the jump, and only has a couple long breaks to fill in story pieces that I wish had been a tad shorter. Outside these moments the story is a 9.5/10, and for me makes a run at top 10 stories ever told in video games. It’s wonderful to see a game use all the modern tools of cinematics, next generation graphics, phenomenal voice acting, and player character rendering to suck you in and make you feel every part of the journey. I have always liked both games nested within Diablo but thought game 1 was subpar compared to other triple A titles. My low expectations we’re sent straight to hell in this installment however, and once again Blizzard, my bad for doubting.
When you finish Act VI which I recommend making that your first and only goal, game 2 truly immediately opens. You are introduced to the Tree of Whispers and told how to collect Grim Favors from around Sanctuary, and this is a great jumping off point to start interfacing with the renown tracks of each region. It gives you a nice extra reward for completing tasks around the map that you are already rewarded for doing. I’ve played to level 80, and occasionally I still enjoy completing these for a nice minor cache of loot. The renown is a great way to get you to fully explore everything that sanctuary has to offer. The one gripe I had was the Altars of Lilith we’re cool for about 5 minutes, and then just became a boring task to just complete. Every other piece of the renown track was an enjoyable grind and got a good foothold into the game. Once this is complete you have your full 58 skill points, are probably somewhere in the mid 60s for your character level and have gotten a nice intro into the paragon board endgame systems. For the casual gamer who wants to continue playing other games and enjoying life outside, please consider that this is you beating the game. Like, seriously, please believe me, YOU DID IT. You beat the game. You accomplished everything that matters. Let me explain.
You beat game one after watching the epilogue cutscene at the end of ACT VI. This is a given. Game 2’s endpoint will be different for everyone, and I think that’s a great thing. For me in a non-seasonal environment, I’m about to reach the end of my progression dreams. From about 65 on with maximum renown, you are basically full build in terms of Legendary Aspects, the power of your gear is maxed, and you have started picking up powerful Paragon bonuses. By this point you have probably done a handful of nightmare sigils and leveled your glyphs which add substantial power. After that, it’s just numbers going up in a game play loop of Dungeons, Helltides, and Whispers. The amount of numbers that go up compared with the amount of these you have to do gets further and further apart. That’s it. If you enjoy that, head for 100 with glee. If not, wait till next season. You’ve beaten a game that is a bonified 9.5/10 to that point with very minor problems. You’ve enjoyed yourself much. Play something else and we’ll see you in July!

That's about it, everything else is convoluted, boring and half-done.
Items are stupid, pair of slippers or iron greaves give same amount of armor. Some aspects are borderline broken, while others are completely useless and shouldn't even be in the game. Same with paragon nodes.

Paragon boards seems an interesting idea, but it's just boring and most people will end up picking up the same nodes. Which would you pick: 20% vuln damage rare or 8% potion healing and +10 HP regen? I mean come on... 10 HP regen is a joke, right?

Paragon boards do not even offer that much customization simply because how obvious the best choices are.

Items drop at lvl 100, can only be traded with other lvl 100 characters.. Great, so I can't even give it to my lvl 80+ alt? What is the point in trading? Oh and good luck trading with 15 people on your shard who think every item is overpriced if it's over 1 million gold. Trading on discord is a pain in the a$$, then you have to friend someone to trade with them, and delete them after the trade. What a joke!! :D

The game is very laggy, constant lag spikes and rubberbanding (especially when moving fast on the horse). My guess is because it's processing new areas to "appear" as it's seamless movement through the open world. What's the point of the mount then? It's so infuriating to use it sometimes. And only horses? So very boring again.

Item affixes are just pure boring crap. After leveling to 50 you already know what the best stats on the item are and then you just hunt those. There's no item that will change your strategy by a lot. IF you think you will get the best uniques in the game, forget it - they are so rare that only a few have dropped among millions of players. Apparently they only drop for 85+ content, so there should still be tens of thousands of players, yet no drops. Why the hell do they even exist? :D

Skills customization is so basic, it's like D3, just on a tree, with a few more passive nodes. Seriously, it's boring.

Dungeons are fun the first dozen times, then you get angry when you have to return 2-3 bloodstones (1 by 1, can't carry more than 1!!!) to the same place. Also, hope you don't die because you spawn at the start of the dungeon sometimes, then have to just walk through empty corridors for a minute.

Ultimately, there's really no endgame... The game is boring after less than two weeks. This is a prototype game which has a good setting, good platform, but Blizzard already started doing really bad things with it. Items are uninspiring and just simply boring. Nothing stands out. Not many things feel like an achievement. World bosses drop literally trash loot and loot goblins are best left alone unless you can just one shot them because it's not worth killing them.

I know this game could be good with the right choices, but I have no faith in Blizzard that they will do what is needed in order to make this a great game. After D3, all we get is this? I really feel bad for the people who did an amazing job at the aesthetics of the game, sound and cinematics, because that's the only thing that gets 9+/10.

Game systems are TRASH. The more I write the more I want to make it even worse score, so I'll stop at 4/10.

The story and even most side quests are netflix tier bad with all the cringy modern tropes like a self inserted annoying teenager that instantly bosses everyone including the player just because or sidequest where you spend 30 seconds listening to a character sigh and take long breaths to tell you they are dying and you need to fetch some random mcguffin.

The game play feels fine for the first few hours but eventually it boils down to 1 or 2 viable builds and then farming for aspects with the right stats to hopefully put on the right gear ( and hopefully you'll get all this before you switch world tiers or level past the aspect power, this should be fun in theory, but somehow manages to get terribly boring because of the level scaling making you dread leveling up while and at the same time the lack of enemy diversity and boring dungeons ends up feeling repetitive very quickly.

another pain point is the UI, it seems they focused so much on making everything huge and readable so that grandmas could see it that they forgot to let people with normal eyesight customize it back to normal. For example you can choose any bright color outline for every enemy but you cant turn it off making the game feel like im playing LOL, at the same time there's no options for scaling the UI or moving/removing the **** mini map which due to the way the game is designed is the thing you'll be looking at 70% of the time, not the screen not your character, but the damn icons on your minimap.

Finally the last thing I was hoping to enjoy despite everything else was pvp, I knew it wasnt supposed to be balanced or play a huge part of the game, but they still managed to **** it up and design it so it only works for people praying on other people who have no fighting chance against them. It lacks the most basic level matching system, you can be a lvl 40 entering a pvp zone for the first time in world tier 1 and you'll get matched against a lvl 70 player who has been farming equipment from world tier 4 which means entering the pvp zone before lvl 100 is utterly useless unless you enjoy being a gimp.

This game might make fun but it is totally overpriced and the small inventory and almost non existent stash, makes this game by far the worst Diablo like game.

Immagine having the name DIABLO 4 and no Diablo boss to fight. Amazing.

Paying 70-100 € and having an Battlepass in game + totally overpriced Skin Shop. Stuff like that should be illegal.

    1. 99% of items you find, are weaker and trash. No wonder when they are around 10 lvls to low. Just got from lvl 34 enemy 25 lvl legend.
    2. Everything in the game is heavily overpriced. Everything costs just to much gold
    3. Balancing is a joke, you don't feel stronger when you lvl up. It's getting even worse. I just had to fight like 10 minutes to beat a battle with 3 bosses. I deald damage around 30-150 and they had like 100k hp each. Bulletsponges. If you are so bad in balancing then you really should stop making games.
    4. Skills cost to much MP. You use a skill like 1-3 times and you are out of mana.
    5. Bugs, you realy often just stuck while running
    6. Stuns etc. are by far to long.
    7. You don't even have a belt to equip
    8. Balancing of classes is not available. Druide forexample does 0 damage compared to a rouge. Been fighting one monster like 30 seconds and dealt around 20-30% damage to his HP. Rouge came closer, used his skills and that monster died instantly. How on earth can you balance something that bad when you have done so many games already.
    9. You don't even have a correct way to show and see your stats. Your weapon has like 200 DPS with 2 slots. You put 2 gems in it and it still tells you exact the same damage output. Common, this stuff has been done in Diablo 3 already. In Diablo 3 you could see EVERY change immediatly. Again, how can you fail to do something, you've done before?
    10. 100 $ game with microtransaction in the game and 100% the new classes etc. will be DLC so you will have to pay even more. Not sure why scam like that is legal.

    Definitelly do not buy.

Generally a pretty good game. Users pointing out a lack of innovation I would generally agree are correct. It's tough to say this game is a 10 when nothing really feels very new from a gameplay stance. Honestly, one could say we actually lost a lot of skill variety for most classes. The gameplay is still very solid, however.

OK, I wanted to write a review on the highest level of difficulty to be as objective as possible. Unfortunately, it won't happen soon or maybe not at all. Why? Because the game has the worst possible sin for games - it's boring. So here I am - difficulty 3, level 55. But from the beginning. I'm a huge Diablo fan. I'm a huge Diablo fan. I've played all Diablo games, some for years. I've played at least 5 seasons of PoE. Diablo 4 has great graphics, a bit wordy but still a good and interesting campaign with amazing cinematics. The best campaign of all the mentioned games. You'll definitely see money invested in this product. But in ARPG games, it's not the campaign that matters most, but the endgame. And here, apart from leveling, it's not there at all! Leveling is excruciatingly slow. Forget about a quick boost like in D2 or D3 to be ready for some real action. A high level is not needed anyway, because there would be nothing to do next. Two events called Helltide and Whispers of The Dead - boring and repetitive where rewards are loot boxes. I guarantee that if you do three in a row, you won't want the fourth one. Dungeons? You have over 120 (yes over 120!!!) almost identical dungeons that you must complete at least once to get special powers for your character. If you don't mind that some of them don't even have a final boss, you're forced to do primitive and boring activities over and over again like killing all the mobs inside (yes, every single one), finding and fetching some rocks to open the door (one at a time!), finding and freeing some prisoners (always 5), or collecting some "anima" (that's basically all you do in 120 dungeons), you can raise their difficulty and do them again. If you expect dynamic and interesting combat like in PoE maps, you will be disappointed. If you're thinking about killing bosses like in WOW instances or short relaxing dungeons like in Diablo Immortal - you won't find it here. Dungeons are huge, slow, boring, with few mobs and almost no drop. And that's all you'll do between level 50 and 100. No trading with other players, no ladder to compare your skills with others, no runes, runewords, no item sets (only legendary and epic items). No pvp arenas, battlegrounds, raids (except for a few boring outdoor bosses that appear very rarely). The world seems empty, you meet single people in the city, no one talks in the chat. I'm disappointed. There is little hope though - Diablo 3 was also completely unplayable when it was released and the entire design of the game has been changed over the years. Hopefully the same will happen to Diablo 4. 3 out of 10 in current game state. Expand

Inventory is tiny with ugly little icons, after 2 days of playing resources capped out, you have all the gems in the world...
Highest tier of items unique are just weak and redundant.
World bosses are so weak, that people on highest difficulty beats them in seconds (there's only 3 and one of them is reused from campaign).
Story is dull an unmemorable with terrible bosses that have 3 attacks.
There's no rng generated maps - static!!! arpg in 2023...
Heavy multiplayer game without!!! social features...
About level 70 you have top gear(which you can buy at vendors SIC!), so there's nothing to do.
Fight would be ok, but there's lots of unavoidable chain cc.
Endgame Tree of whispers is total disaster and nobody does this, helltides are fun for 3-4 times till you have gg gear, nightmare dungeons are terrible, boring, repetitive, lots of backtracking, with mobs spawning from nowhere.
Every system is unfinished and most of them seems to be in game just to make it look that game is big.
Many thing promised by devs is not in game(sets, runes, angelic/demonic affixes etc.) - get money ready for DLC.
If game wasn't named Diablo after 1-2 weeks 80% of players would left and scores would be terrible.
I am giving 0 just because I regret spent time and wouldn't even play it for free.

The worst tradeoff is of course no random map generation - it's just lame. I'm already bored to death. Instead of the characterizing feature of the series we get **** quests like: collect 50 of the same thing as a random drop, get bugged by despawned loot pile, read bout boring ass life of npc №24 at the next village and get betrayed by him 10 mins later. It's all very uninteresting and very time consuming. It gets stuck in limbo borrowing from casual diablo 3 with it's simplistic gaming loop and clear progression patterns and ultra hardcore poe with it's overly complex loot systems and grand but ultimately boring sprawling paragon board. Those two systems don't clash very well and produce unmemorable mmorpg experience that doesn't know who it aims at. It's only "fun" for like first 20 hours and after that it's either you're stumbling onto a good build with descent clear speed or your game turns into a slog.
I really don't like this game, hope the first seasons only mechanics going to be level 5 world tier and then everyone will understand that there's no content at all. It's like with web3 and it's endless promises of future use cases and how technology will improve, but it never does.

The game doesn't tell you what the heck is going on. Every area feels the same to me. It's just the same thing over and over and over. sometimes we drop several items on the ground and as the backpack is small we don’t want to pick everything up and in the other diablos I could hold the ALT and hover the mouse and have a visualization of the item on the ground without needing to grab it to decide to pick it up or not

when I watch a video I don’t know if the player is a hardcore player or not, when I go to my friends list to invite someone to join the group, I don’t know if the player is a hardcore player or not, if it were possible to play together, fine, but it’s not It’s possible so I need to know with an icon or other things if he’s playing in normal or hardcore, as was possible in other games of the franchise…

the very big interface that gets in the way mainly with huge names on the item floor, horrible for those who play on a larger screen and especially in 4k because you usually play close to the screen since you have no problem seeing pixels because it is in 4k (if you play in 4k super far from the screen you are throwing money away yes)

and I feel that the game is very focused on the experience of the console player and the PC being left aside , what I said above is just a lot of things , there are several others that bother me and that makes me think that it is because as a console player … I want to know when and if they are going to fix the game to make it pleasant for those who play on the pc and make the most of it and when are they going to start respecting the pc player who mainly made the game what it is today it is being spoiled by people not playing the game and all it has to offer. (I’m talking about the amateur devs involved)
The only thing that makes me think is that the company only listens to what’s easier to do, which will soon make the game fall by the wayside and forgotten like many who go down that path, if that’s not what you want, I’m just sorry , but unfortunately that’s what the game is currently making me feel
and I think that helped the bad score on metacritic
I don’t care about metacritic, I just want to play a well-made game and a game whose main objective is to farm and do repetitive things several times, it really needs to have an excellent quality of life because after a while the small problems become extremely big when the game is lacking in content… and we know that games with seasons tend to have a long period of lack of content after a short time of the beginning of each season…

Diablo 4 is okay to play through the campaign, once. After that it's a disaster and failed to keep my attention. I rate a 6/10 only because of the campaign and enjoyable cutscenes. I understand the lower ratings due to horrible end game, weird game design and forced online play. Diablo IV suffers from an identity crisis and wants to be played as an MMORPG, without any of the rich features of a full MMO.

I've been playing Diablo since 1996. Diablo 4 is definitely the best in the whole series. They did a great job with the combination of the spirit of Diablo 2 and the fighting mechanics of Diablo 3. I'm sure the game will improve and improve over the years. Congratulations Blizzard. You did it perfectly.

It’s almost like Diablo 4 developers are consciously fighting against everything that made classic Diablo fun. [Issue#262, p.80]

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.

The best Blizzard launch in a long time and a worthy game to be called Diablo.
