Yet another failed game from Blizzard Entertainment. It's so woke and full of every check list trash game out there. Be sure to stack nothing but vulnerable as that covers every damage and increases it unrealistically. It's beyond unbalanced and STILL doesn't compete with Diablo 2 in any way. The ideas behind it are cool. The open world is cool. The graphics and sounds are cool but the mechanics are just trash. My friend bought this for me and I wish he hadn't wasted his money on it because I'm not going to play this. I absolutely refuse to buy any Blizzard games anymore because they all just suck. There's no original team involved and their games simply do not amount up to what the old team was able to do. They simply SUCK SUCK SUCK. I wish I could refund this game for my friend so he could get his 100 bucks back. So disappointed and I advise you all to not even bother unless you like having your hand held by some woke crowd. Get real! I'm over it. Never buying a Blizz game again and Diablo 2 was my obsession. Their remake is good. They still can't produce anything that beats it and it was the old team that produced it. Good job getting rid of your real gold diggers because now all yall pulling up is coal. I could scream..... Expand

This game is amazing, took the best of the previous games and made a better product. The people writing negative reviews have clearly never played a Diablo game before, complaining that once you beat the story it's just more of the same, grinding for better gear. Yeah, no **** it's a Diablo game.

Terrible itemisation, bad skill trees and designs, only 6 skill slots, lack of sense of progression, scaling is utter cancer, no runewords, lack of community feel as promised, lack of balance.

This should be the last diablo game. Let it die in peace, cause blizzard is truly incompetent. They only chase money and they flex about it so much it couldnt be obvious.

So not only have you killed the power fantasy with level scaling, you have forced players into playing obese characters? There is hardly any choice here which is not really unusual for blizzard. Unfortunately, they used to have better judgment and understanding of their player base. It's amazing to me how far this company has fallen. There are more satisfying titles out there by companies who care and want to earn your loyalty. Blizzard doesn't care about anything at all anymore except pleasing their shareholders. Garbage fire.

Here's my two cents (well, $100).

If you are having the D4 blues, try a little game on Steam called "Last Epoch." It's everything D4 should have been and isn't. Great progression and leveling. You feel powerful but challenged. Deep and wide skill trees and great loot diversity. Can change builds in the same mastery easily. Unlimited stash space. I have 130 hours in and am just starting.

I have played them all: four Diablos, POE, Grim Dawn, Remnant, Outriders, Fate, Titan Quest, Torchlight, Destiny 2, Division 1 and 2, on and on. I know what I'm talking about.

Hope they can fix D4. I was really expecting so much more.

Diablo 2 was a little different but still we quickly loved it for many improvements compared to its processor. We were really hoping Diablo 3 will improve many things from Diablo 2 and will bring even more new stuff but it did not happen – that game completely destroyed not only the story of original games and became horrible step backward. After such failure and many others from Blizzard I did not expect anything good from Diablo 4 and I was right by doing this.
Story: It’s horrible even after Diablo 3 it still horrible. Dialogs, narration, characters, everything is bad. I don’t know who wrote dialogs and the whole story but it so stupid, primitive and unlogic. When I was playing I did not care about what was going on – you just cannot care for such soulless characters and story at all. Many in-game cinematics are just pathetic and even main antagonist Lilith brought only one feeling from me – disgust.
Gameplay: this is where the game failed so hard. The gameplay is repetitive, monotone, easy and boring. Developers did not even bother to bring some new mechanics into the game. Monsters are easy to kill and do not bring you any challenge despite the difficulty level. Whole game you will have to make same activities over and over again in hopes of getting new legendary item. Many dungeons look absolutely the same and looks like developers did not even bother with its design. Besides you just cannot make game interesting when you have to kill your mouse with 2 spells when other 4 spells have 20-45 seconds cooldown.
Character development: you level up and get new skills from talent tree but very-very soon you realize there is no choice in talent tree and it is only an illusion – there is no diversity in character build. The only thing you will care and will make you stronger – items but not just items – only legendries since other categories exist just for nothing and on higher levels you will just ignore them.
Atmosphere: developers tried to bring dark atmosphere from Diablo and Diablo 2 but succeed only partially. The game does not look so cartoonish like Diablo 3 but still it is not even close to the first two games. The world itself is empty and does not create a feeling of fear and helplessness. You could see the developers was in a hurry and many things in the world made poorly or not made at all.
Graphic: it’s ok but nothing outstanding. Still it brings very big resemblance to Diablo 3 which in my opinion is nothing good. The character looks ugly as hell you just cannot even crate normal looking man/woman.
Audio: it is quite bad since you will spend almost whole your time in the gray mass of monsters on your screen you just cannot highlight anything good in it. If you think I forgot about music, I did not – there is none here, something playing in dungeons, cities and fields but most of time you just cannot say it is even existing.
The last two nails on the coffer are monetization and many bugs in the game.
Diablo 4 has nothing common with Diablo and Diablo 2 – you cannot even call this game Diablo anymore – it looks like Diablo Immortal 2.0. If you ever loved Diablo and Diablo 2 stay away from this horrible game made by lazy and greedy people from Blizzard – believe me when developers who does not care what are they are doing, does not care about world they are using and developers who are lazy as hell and cares only for money – you cannot get anything normal game from them (I just even cannot say good).

    Pros:
    - Good for cross-play
    - Play how you want - mostly

    Cons:
    - Skills are directly copied from previous games but made worse.
    - Paragon system is included as part of the leveling instead of when you reach max level.
    - Story/Campaign is very poorly done & even more poorly connects itself to the other games.
    - No storage space, you need to share 4 stash tabs between 10 characters, gems use one, aspects use at least one. So that leaves you with only 2 tabs for 9 other characters....
    - Lacking detailed information for EVERYTHING. this game is all about min maxing, but it does not give you any information of what skills do what, or affected by what & how.
    - Little to no options in character cosmetics unless you spend real money. Few in-game unlocks are actually different.
-side quests are not shared, This is a huge problem when playing with a friend & doing multiple side quests. You pop in & out of instances to one another unless you both match each side quest chains progress.
    - BUGS... OMG... The worst are all related to pathfinding.
Kinda makes you think they didn't even use a basic A* logic.

Sadly I know there will be an expansion & I am sure many of the problems will eventually get addressed.
But I will not return to the game. It was wrong to release such a mess of a game to begin with.

If I had to briefly describe Diablo IV, I would summarize it as "Diablo 3 with window dressing".

My biggest beef with the game is the always online part. Not as in "oh you have to be connected to the internet", but "you can't pause the game like you can't pause World of Warcraft and there will be people running around the maps with you". WTF, Blizz? I like the danger of being alone,

WTF, Blizz? I like the danger of being alone, isolated, and not running into Captain Fancypants on his shiny horse blasting everything around me while fighting mobs.

Back to the game in general, though, besides the cutscenes (always gorgeous), and the likely better graphics, I think someone could've modded D3 and basically made this. It's got so many re-used sounds, enemies, skills, etc. from past Diablos; and it does make some sense.

It would've been nice to make the dialogue be more affective towards the actual game instead of the static way it's always been. Throw a few choices in that get your boons or penalties from people based on how you respond, etc.

Small caveat: I haven't finished the game yet, but I'm already pretty bored and just rushing through it now to finish it up. I can't imagine getting this far and then suddenly the game becomes entirely different and redeems itself. It's fun like the old Diablo games were fun. In the grindy, re-hashed, re-skinned, regurgitated gameplay that I played over 20 years ago. Newcomers will probably like it a lot, but that's why Diablo was a hit in the first place.

Edit: Oh and I just got to the boss where a full 1/3 of the room was basically unusable because of a wall that blocks your isometric view. Wonderful planning, Blizz...

And now some demons are stuck behind an impassable hellfire barrier and I can't kill them, but I need to kill them to progress.

Update: So I finally beat the end boss, but I had to do it twice. Immediately after the last fight, I looted and got disconnected. Because of the change in the way quest saving works due to the always online bit, I had to do it all over again. I did not get two full loot drops.

I have no great desire to continue playing. I tried a Tree of Whispers run and got some useless yellows and started a new character. But nothing is really pulling me back, and I feel this will game go by the wayside in my library.

The 4 days of early access was pretty fun, worth it just to experience and explore a new Diablo world over the weekend. Completed campaign, very painful experience, skipped all the insufferable dialog. Server performance was solid, amazing graphics and wonderful music. Once public launch, servers died and unstable. Now over a week of playing and gaining more knowledge of the game and what it offers, I’ve lost all interest, doing quests and dungeons is just absolutely boring, same garbage over and over. Items are boring, gem mods are boring, everything that made items in D2 great is again completely missing in D4. Diablo doesn't even show up in the game, like what? Character leveling is a drag, no feelings of power improvements, level 1 is the same as level 100, very slow xp gain. Skill tree is very basic (zero build depth), Paragon board is a joke (zero build variety depth). The map world is huge but it looks all the same everywhere, no notable monuments or land features in any part of the world. Very disappointing game in the end. Diablo 4 is a very misleading product, no Diablo in game, plays worse than D3 and D2, Blizzard lied to everyone. Longevity and fun factor are the true measures of a successful ARPG and D4 totally fails at both. I had to downgrade my rating from a 2 to a 0. D4 ís the absolute worst ARPG game of all time. You spend more time running between monsters, reviewing your loot and vendoring it than actually fighting monsters.

The game is also live service and Blizzard recently ignored 142 exploiters who basically cheated the game to get uber uniques. Their response was extremely disappointing. It was along the lines of "we know who cheated and how many, but this time there will be no punishment, perhaps next time we'll do something if it happened again". This allows their streamer partners and whoever else they are protecting to retain godlike items for the remainder of the game. I decided to uninstall at this point because Blizzard lost integrity and didn't keep the playing field fair for the rest of us.

I think that if in the few next seasons we will see contents like: infinite dungeons depth, pve/pvp leaderboards with prizes at the end of the season and some more choices in the skill tree to personalize the build, this game could be at the top for a very long time. If Blizzard treats this game with respect in a year or less it will be amazing. Remember every product in this age comes out with flaws, look at Cyberpunk how bad it was received at the start and how perfect it is today. This is the next gen of arpg, there is some work to do but the basis on which the game will be built are solid and interesting. And I think and hope that the competition that will come from this game alone will be very beneficial to the genre which has stalled for quite some time at this point.

I played until lvl 100. The next day they released the name of their 1st Season. Malignant. I was triggered, my dad died of lung cancer when I was 21 after his cancer became malignant and I was his 24-7 at home care giver. I saw malignant. I left a comment on their advertisement, "I hope many people are not triggered by the word malignant. *Face Palm* Might as well call it Stage 4 Cancer." I got a communications ban after that from XBOX. Better not have an opinion or any emotions when it comes to Blizzard's paycheck. I'm sure no one else connected the word malignant to common cancer deaths of their friends, family and heroes.

Blizzard, it is personal now. I learned if you are going to play an MMO, preorder it otherwise you will miss out on the good game play. I learned no more Blizzard games. No more MMOs because they are all pay to play (micro-transactions) or over-repetitive life leeches. I've been playing MMOs for 23 years. MMOs cause stress they don't distress anymore. When you play an MMO you are working for the company for free. TTRPGs only for me. Because this will also be my last console after that uncalled for ban from XBOX. Life in Sanctuary is tough, no characters, families, farms, or towns are safe from the endless doom and gloom that is pervasive in this universe, there are no happy endings here. In typical Diablo fashion you play as a nameless "champion" of sorts who is on a journey to stop the impeding demon threat/apocalypse, this time in the form of Lilith, daughter of Mephisto. The story is typical genre fare, though delivered in some really inspired and beautifully rendered cutscenes. In particular, the final full CGI scene is breathtaking, and features a cool and satisfying conclusion to this portion of the story.

Gameplay is fun and challenging, with many different options for encounters and playstyles. I played through the whole story as an arc/electric sorcerer, only switching towards the end to a firewall build that was much better. The action is quick and deadly, particle effects and gorgeous animations flash on the screen at a near constant rate during encounters. The game does feature some sharp difficulty spikes for sure, the main story is on average easier than the optional dungeons that are scattered throughout the world.

Post main story the game does get pretty grindy. After reaching level 50 you stop receiving skill points and instead earn Paragon Points which incrementally boost your character and provide mostly passive benefits. For non hardcore fans of the game/genre most of the interest will wane after the main story is completed.

All in all I never encountered a dull moment in my time rolling through the main story. The action and enemies are ever evolving and the loot and build structure of the lategame leads to endless opportunities for fun.

Beat on world level 2 with a sorcerer, roughly 25 hours to finish the main story.

In true blizz fashion, art team tries to carry and actually make good cinematics, apart from that, nothing special, challenging or incredible, you can simply face tank every boss. Takes like 12 hours.

As a live service ARPG: U finished the good part when u finished the campaign, now you're in the realm of grinding non stop to get your first set of items that make sense for your build, which will happen within a day or 2 depending on luck, and then getting minor upgrades after reading over thousands of items. You're grinding for no reason because there's no difficult content (Or more like no reason to do it), completely overblown lilith as the last boss, which most builds wont even kill with best gear, unless you're playing that 1 specific broken build on your class currently. And then she drops nothing, just like the 90+ lvl nightmare dungeons. None of it makes any sense, ur character is built and done by level 80-85 and there's nothing to do apart from more of the same. Skill choice doesn't exist, u have 2 skills that are good and actually do dmg per class and even those are constantly getting nerfed. U can't give any of the gear u drop to ur alts or friends either cuz they're all lvl locked to ur current level, so if u're at 100, anyone that wants to wear that also needs 100. UI of a mobile game. No transparent map in an ARPG. Whoever came up with the scaling prices on rerolls and gear enchanting without a cap, should be fired and never hired for any game design position ever again. Spending 120 mill on an item and still not getting the 1 stat you want, wtf is that. All of the content is useless apart from nightmare dungeons and hell tides. Tree, world bosses, goblins, world events, legion all drop nothing and are a complete waste of time in comparison.

If some random gaming studio released this, people would be **** on it 24/7 and it would've already been buried. But Blizzard has an army of shills. I really tried giving this game a chance and a lot of patience, but it's as barebones as ARPGs get.

So. I played HC Barbarian and have stopped at level 87. There's just kinda nothing more to do. I don't think I'll ever beat the Final Boss (no spoiler), but everything else is pretty easy. And be easy I mean boring. And by boring I mean repetitive. Basically the only thing to do is run nightmare dungeons over and over, only pick up the ancestrals for the gear slots you need, and then quickly scan to see if you can get 64% vulnerable damage instead of the 62% you're currently rockin. Sell sell sell, back to dungeon. When you enter a dungeon, you will have to do three tasks. You will have to A) Kill all monsters in this area, B) Pick up X things and deliver them to Y, C) Kill Z number of elite monsters, and then finally, D) Kill the mini-boss of the dungeon. The name of the dungeon doesn't matter, because you're going to do some combination of A/B/C/D. Sometimes there's backtracking, sometimes there's not. If there's two winches to hoist, they'll be one to the left and one to the right. If there's three elites to kill, there will be three paths and one at the end of each path. If there's 6 prisoners to free, just know that exactly the same sized little groups of monsters will spawn each time you free one. It is all very controlled and very predictable. You will do a nightmare dungeon at level X-54 and you will finish in 6 or 7 minutes and then you will quickly sell loot and do the next one. Every few hours a unique will drop, and it will be utter trash 9 times out of 10, and not trash but not usable on the 10th time.

The end game is boring. In the last thirty hours of play, the most fun I had was in a dungeon where i accidently pulled two elite groups and The Butcher made an appearance. It felt like, "Oh damn, this is scary, I gotta focus and manage my cooldowns here!" Otherwise, pull one group, pop CDs, they die. Wait four seconds and pull next group, pop CDs, they die. Repeat repeat repeat. It's really boring.

I liked the campaign up to level 50, I liked the helltides and progression through nightmare. I liked the altars of lilith. But it just grinds to a ... well... grind. I got to remember a little bit of the D2 magic, and the game is beautifully rendered. But ultimately it is soulless. There's no chaos, there's no power. It's just bite sized bits of monsters in an ultimately pointless grind. All games are pointless I guess, but it's nice when it takes you longer to figure that out.

I don't regret playing, but I won't play any more. Game lacks a soul. It's utterly predictable. Even the side quests, you just have no choice but to do exactly what they say. Murder 7 people who disagree with the NPC you've been helping? SURE THING! They could have done more with this game. It's fine, but it's not better than D2, and it's 20 years later.

Oh, I do like the paragon board. It's fun, but it's the only thing that feels like progress from level 73 on.

Story? Boring as Fk. I got nothing to say about it, it is boring as Fk. End.

    Monsters? Lacking and Annoying.
Monsters are so annoyingly designed, like they have no purpose better to serve than annoying the players - the monster designs & mechanics bring no joy in slaughtering them but rather presents an experiences of "working" to slaughter them. and by "working" here i don't mean upgrading itemizations, i'm refering to "closing the distance gap," "getting into their bubbles," "AVOIDING THE ZOMBIE HUGS THAT WILL ONE SHOT YOU."
    It is just not fun.

And the design of the monsters?
It is lacking creativity to the max. seriously... It's 2023 and they're sticking with 1980 monster designs...
A red soul-like creature being portrait-ed as a form of 1. Archer, 2, Mage Skeleton, .... It is tasteless, lazy, failing.
    Insects? no comment.
I mean I don't want the developer team to go crazy on the designs but this is like they designed the monsters on a "bring your un-creative kids to work" day and swung with what got stuck on the nail-board. One of the kids must-must've phobia on FLIES.

System bugs? The game has been released for nearly 1 month now.
And my character still suddenly stops moving after dodging. It just stops.

I still can't believe a game company like Blizzard isn't even addressing these BASIC BUGS in one of their fancy little NERF updates, just being extremely busy on making the game less enjoyable.

THESE sorts of BUGS shouldn't have been presented to the players AT ALL, AT ANY STAGE OF GAME RELEASES.

One thing is the horrible UI or the missing content, that can be fixed, but the general gameplay, although it looks and sounds pretty, it's just not rewarding. The game sets you up for defeat almost from the get-go with very few feeling of reward:
It doesn't matter if you find a legendary or unique item (which are basicly just common drops) because you will switch them out shortly afterwards anyway....
The potion system is limited and chonky and rewards far range play so you can save them, because unless you get bosses to specific health states, there is no way of getting them back, which heavily hurts a melee character...
The way you feel you lose control over your character in certain areas or boss fights. Sure you can get an unbreakable buff that will make you immune to cc, but unless the entirety of your build is focused on that... Never mind the world bosses that switch your camera focus around, so all of a sudden you don't know where your character is...
And this is not even a full list...

Story wise the game is mediocre at best. You are chasing around after a demon that's somewhat powerful and then... not really when it comes down to it. However, on a positive note, I was very thrilled, as a Diablo lore-freak, to know the lore-drops in the storyline.

Very disappointing fights that is just a copy of Diablo 3 bosses... Most events also a copy of Diablo 3 or .. heavens forbid, Diablo Immoral.

Now that being said, the game has a few redeeming qualities. It has taken some of the good things from Diablo 2, the dark feeling, the more slow-based fighting system and such things. And it has taken the, what in my opinion are probably the best things from Diablo 3. But when it has also taken the worst things from Diablo 3, being the things I felt traditional Diablo fans complained about, it heavily minimizes my score.

The gist of it... If you liked Diablo 3, by all means. I'd say it's a 50/50 whether you will find the game good and worth playing for a few weeks or terrible and will just shelf it.

If you are a Diablo or Diablo 2 fan ... Stay away from it. For the love of everything Diablo once was, stay away.

Either way, I don't really see many playing much more than a few days before growing tired and annoyed with the game.

Sorry Blizzard, but at this point I feel you are just producing shameful games on purpose.

I don't think the developers understand that itemization was the core of D2 and the reason for its popularity. It also tries to capture the dark and gritty atmosphere of D1 and D2, but fails. Also, there is not much opportunity - or reason - to interact with the other players in the game.

My recommendation is to save your $70 and keep playing D2 and PoE. A few years ago I swore not to buy another Blizzard title again, and I failed on that. This is a reminder of why. It's too late for me - but, maybe not for you.

When the campaign is over it feels like you should stop playing. You can do nightmare dungeons or whispers but both feel annoying to do and at the end you have gained nothing. All the endgame content is surprisingly bland, unoriginal, repetitive and boring. They want to focus the endgame to Nightmare dungeons which is unfortunate as the dungeons are the most ANNOYING part of the game. This is mainly due to the ridiculous objectives which are there only to waste your time and add nothing to the actual experience. Itemization is a big mess. There are so many item mods that don't matter and just increase the pool of mods so it is harder to get something good. I have played thousands of hours of Diablo 3 and Diablo 2. So far I have about 100 hours in this one and I have no interest in playing more. I will probably not even play Season 1 when it hits even though I have already paid for it, that is how bored and annoyed I feel from this game. It seems that the developers of this one have no idea what made D2 and D3 good. Expand

I truly hoped for the real D2 sequel, but it will probably never come true. Damn, $100 down the drain! Do not waste your time or money on this!!!

Since you can't target farm for anything, gameplay loop is just kill monsters and hope rnjesus favors you. So if you want to play a few hours everyday and have a life, this game is not for you after lvl 50 or so. Imagine playing 2 hours a day for a week and just getting trash everyday, game makes you feel frustrated and make you realize it is a waste of time. Blizzard are good at making hamsterwheel type games, but they don't work if you have a life. If you play a limited amount daily and can't no life this game, then you will never have any functioning builds, just subpar trash. Not for functioning adults, only for no lifers.

They finished the campaign, slapped on a half assed endgame with horrible itemization and shipped it out. Game needs a couple more years in development for the endgame systems but I guess the execs were too greedy and it worked, they earned like 600 mil in a couple days, which is probably more than what poe earned in its lifetime. Based on blizzard's track record, I don't think you can even hope they will fix it, feels like I got scammed. Game is a complete mess with a shiny coat of paint to fool you into buying it. It feels bad that their talented art and sound teams were just used for scamming purposes.

My main gripe with Diablo 4 is itemization. Usually, the best part about a Diablo game is going through your the gear you just looted. I found this part to be such a chore in Diablo 4. I even ended up buying more stash tabs just to store all the rare items I didn't feel like going through. Making rares as good as legendary doesn't make any sense. They literally just took the pool of attributes that items could have in Diablo 3 and added a bunch of completely unnecessary new ones that just don't make a lot of sense.

I find myself at the endgame with no desire to play anymore. I was quite literally addicted to each of the other games in this series at one point or another, but I never had that with this game. Hopefully, they can patch this into something enjoyable at some point.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Diablo 4 disappointed me for several reasons. Firstly, the game's title implies the possibility of killing or encountering Diablo himself, but that turned out to be impossible. The bosses in the game lack grandeur and do not live up to the expectations set by previous entries in the series. Instead of being able to defeat powerful demons like Baal or Mephisto, we end up fighting some minor foes like Genghis Khan and others. Perhaps the game should have been named "Lilith 1" instead of Diablo 4.

The character classes in Diablo 4 are dull, making playing them quite uninteresting. They lack sufficient gameplay variety, which diminishes the motivation to explore different characters.

Additionally, the game world feels completely empty and monotonous. The constantly repeating cities lack life and provide no meaningful exploration.

Despite these drawbacks, it's worth noting that the cinematics in the game are excellently crafted. The environment boasts stunning design, and the melee classes deliver impressive visual effects.

Overall, I consider Diablo 4 to be the weakest entry in the series. In their pursuit of scale, the developers have lost sight of the most important aspect of the game – fun and joy.

5/10: disappointed, but optimistic for future updates

When a game is designed for all audiences, you end up with a homogenized experience. There is no way to fail and no way to excel. Combat feels the same throughout the entire experience until you achieve a build. The only engaging content in D4 is Uber Lilith and it's extremely over tuned compared to the rest of the game.

    Main issues:
    1. Quests/Dialog: Pacing is extremely out of whack. There is way too much dialog compared to what it adds to the overall experience. Coupled with not being able to skip certain things such as escorts or NPC animations, it's a bad experience. Even when I'm not interested in listening to the dialog, skipping is frustrating because the camera has to zoom in for a second and NPCs have to walk around or go through their animation before I can skip the next line of dialog. I did a 100% renown character where I did all side quests, spoke to all NPCs, and didn't skip any dialog. With the exception of some of the main story and a couple side quests, it was extremely forgetful.

    - Remove side quests that require character animations to play through
    - Make the remaining side quest dialog leaner and more interesting
    - Add more visual storytelling

    2. Itemization - Step up from Diablo 3, but some of the fundamental issues carried over. Essentially, you're looking for items with at least 3/4 affixes for your build. This means it's either an upgrade or junk, never a "hmm, is this good and can I fit this in?". There's no interesting itemization choices or tradeoffs. Usually there are character problems to be solved through itemization such as resistances, life threshold, armor threshold, block %, cast/attack speed, resource management, cooldown recovery, etc. In this game, it's basically: damage, vulnerability damage, critical damage, and maybe one or two other stats for your build. The excitement and dopamine in an ARPG depends on the drops and evaluating the power of an item or min/maxing between many different affixes. Diablo 4 misses the mark with this by a mile and I really hope they do a complete overhaul of the itemization.

    - Consolidate similar affix types
    - Add more interesting build-enabling affixes
    - Add more problems for characters to overcome through itemization
    - Remove damage from some item slots

    3. UI/UX - I understand that this game is designed for all platforms and probably designed for all kinds of accessibility. But the UI should be an expression of what the developers want the players to experience. When I open any menu in this game, it takes me out of the world. It's completely counter to the vibe that the game establishes. I would love to see more creativity and expression here.

    - Express the world of Diablo through the UI as the default experience
    - For those with accessibility issues or on different platforms, provide options to change the UI
    - Please stop using fonts that remind me of work

    4. Level Scaling - Level scaling makes the leveling experience homogenized and bland. There's never a moment of "oh **** this is way too tough, I'll come back later" or "damn, these guys are easy now, I've gotten much stronger." Blizzard needs to go back to the drawing board and brainstorm some better solutions to the open-world problem.

    - Remove level scaling or come up with a hybrid system
    - Add more content that presents a real challenge and doesn't scale upward

    5. Dungeons - The dungeon objectives are tedious. It severely detracts from the experience. I see a lot of people saying to add more. I say remove them altogether. If the fear is boss rushing, reduce boss rewards / dungeon completion rewards.

    - Remove dungeon objectives
    - Make glyph xp based on clear %
    - Add more dungeon layouts

    Positives:
    1. Music - I loved the music. I turned down the sfx/voice to 50% and kept music at 100% and this was perfect. Music should be at the forefront. Music can immediately set a tone and reinforces what's happening on the screen.

    - Add more melodic music that catches the ear

    2. Style / Graphics - I love the tone of this world. It's grim, dark, and dangerous. Characters don't overshadow the world and feel naturally part of it. Player animations make combat look and feel great. Monster design is interesting and fits well. Main story boss design is awesome.

    - Increase saturation of abilities and monsters
    - Expand the color palette in zones

    3. Combat - It feels great. Abilities are satisfying and fun to use. Sound design is nice and visceral.

Blizz played it extremely safe. They aren't pushing the genre forward in any way or expressing a vision. Of course, when a team grows too large, budget gets too big, and you have Activision to answer to, there probably isn't much space for designers to go outside the boundaries. I get the sense that the Blizzard culture is very much that there is zero pushback and people would rather keep their job security and climb the ladder

J'ai voulu me faire ma propre opinion.

In a game that can cost up to $100, they just couldn't help themselves, they still had to take already made content and slam it into a cash shop on top of this.

Pretty good hack n slash but the amount of bugs that have set me back in every single act of the story is frustrating. I am not really into the story so having to go back and redo things over and over because of errors leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The game play is repetitive . I dont care about fashion game micro transaction stuff at all. This game does not feel finished

Some of the classes are weaker than other classes when it hits endgame. For example, endgame barb is significantly weaker than the other classes when pushing the damage limit against bosses. There's no way to get through the bottleneck even though getting all BIS gears in every pieces, while the other classes can do more damage with similar BIS gears. It's because barb doesn't have any other mechanic that can multiply / stacking the damage. They are all linear increased.

Pushing the tier of NM dungeon becomes pointless after tier 50 as it only increases the difficulty but not the rewards. Sure, it gives more glyph xp, then what? It only gives the same legendaries that I already own. The XP rewards also become pointless when I hit level 100, so the only thing I can get is that getting one shot randomly in high tiers NM dungeon, it's not fun at all and pointless for pushing further.

The event becomes obsolete when the player hit high level, same no reason for doing that. The endgame needs a lot more contents when player hit level 100 since other than killing uber lilith, there's nothing to do. Rerolling maybe a choice, but since build variety is very limited, it may feel like doing the same thing after serveral seasons.

some points that it not really worth that price

The campaign is acceptable within everything, very little innovation and what is that about having only five skills? ... after the campaign, you can only do favors to the tree and do the same dungeons over and over again they could have added a pvp area or something like that to make it more cool I think that diablo today is more

    I really like this game.
I think it will be a better game after some improvements in the future.
Developers are also responding very quickly.
I'm looking forward to season 1.

This is the best diablo ever made. I liked the game's story, combat and the end game.

Worse than Diablo 3. To my tastes, Diablo 2 is easily the best of the series. Pick up the remastered version of that game instead is my advice.

Enjoyed the campaign, but sadly the endgame afterwards (lvl50+), or playing additional characters, is not really fun for me.
While the other Diablo games used items as the "carrot on a stick" to draw me through the grind, the items in D4 are just not fun. It feels not rewarding to play the game. The former Diablo titles are much better at that.
Just the campaign is by far not enough for

Just the campaign is by far not enough for such an expensive title. I regret having paid 70EUR for the game and pity the people who paid 100EUR. For the current state 40EUR would have been fair.

I guess i´ll come back in a year or two, to see if they improved the game and would recommend others to wait to buy.

It’s almost like Diablo 4 developers are consciously fighting against everything that made classic Diablo fun. [Issue#262, p.80]

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.

The best Blizzard launch in a long time and a worthy game to be called Diablo.
