What a pile of **** Worst gaming xp I have had in years playing as a mage/sorcerer. High risk/low rewards. Nerfs nerfs nerfs. I play action rpg to feel a power trip, but all I feel is a dumb piece of **** for spending $70 on garbage.

At start I really enjoyed that game. I played early access, open beta, early launch and all pre season as a sorceress.

I reached lvl 100 using a chain lightning + cracking build (non meta build/passive). I pushed to NM dungeon lvl 61, did all side quests, all renown for each region. BUT : I stopped playing. Why ? Lack of content, end game is frustrating I throw away 499 out of 500

Lack of meaningfull drop (Uber legendary are for hardcore gamer only).
Lack of boss (only 12 bosses for 100+ dungeon).
Lack of build diversity, you have to respec to meta build to push (11 millions gold per total respec)

And the BEST is season one patch : Nerf Nerf Nerf to the ground.

My main character I spend 250h in is now demolished, after reading patch I do not see how I can play a decent sorceress.

They nerfed XP per monster, they put limit to reach T3 T4 world tier (lvl 50/70). They overall buffed monster and nerfed player for one only purpose : hide the lack of content and slow down XP process to hide the fact that there is not enough content for a 3 months season.

I am considering to extend my pause and may be to skip season one.

    Listen to players Blizzard.

Season 1 patch just sucked out all the fun and made the grind unbearable.

The made almost every huild weaker and the weakest class (sorc) worse, while decreasing xp gain, increasing monster health and decreasing values such as damage reduction and armor.

Diablo series is supposed to be a game in which the player becomes the ultimate monster-killing machine where loot, gold, and glory rain on the player. Instead, Diablo 4 continues to reduce the player's power, making leveling insanely slow and sucking away all the fun from the game.

Diablo 4 is NOT an MMO, and Blizzard seems to treat the game as such. They introduced PvP and forced a community to interact as an MMO. This game is going down the drain as quickly as New World.

My friends and I have enjoyed the game greatly since launch, but after the release of patch 1.1 just before Season 1 we are seeing just how out of touch the company's management is with the game. With all the sweeping nerfs, they have taken so many elements that made the game fun and completely killed it for me and my friends. Though I play Druid and came out mostly on top, my friends that love Sorcerer are getting completely shafted. I really wish the company was putting time into restoring all the quality of life improvements from Diablo III into Diablo IV instead of wasting time backtracking and making their game worst than the launch and beta experiences.

Nerfing Helltides why? Because screw you, that is why. The itemization in this game is probably worst than anything I've ever played. Dreadful really. Remember that awesome crafting system Diablo 3 had? Could make gear, set items, amazing stuff for your toon as you level, that is not here Chief. All gone. Oh, but you can enchant your items? Well yes, but we are not going to tell you what you can get and the cost will rise significantly, why even bother.

Blizzard, you don't have to gaslight me into thinking you want me to play, your actions show me that you don't so I am not going to. I really hoped there would be some depth to Diablo 4 but it is really just a very large mud puddle.

The game clearly was not ready to be released. Companies are delivering a MVP and promissing new "content" which in fact are fixes and adjustments that should be made during the development/beta versions. The 1.1 patch was the nail to the coffin. I'm no longer supporting Blizzard games.

Has continually gone down hill with changes since testing through live. Devs don't have a grasp on fun. The their strategy to increase longevity of the game is to make it a slog to grind. A large patch for only 6 uniques that aren't even good.

And an army of nerfs that nobody asked for, especially the poor Sorc players who have to witness as their already weak and underperforming class now perform even worse.

Not to mention **** server stability and netcode, along with town stuttering, mount that moves like it is walking through molasses and other performance issues that will take them until Season 666 to fix one of them.

Good thing for the deluxe edition players who have to pay them $100 for this garbage is that they can chose to activate the BP (yes, the $70 base P2P game has a BP and a skin shop) whenever they want. So they can chose to activate it until season 666 when this "patch" is reverted and Sorc finally gets buff.

And I'm even a Sorc player, I'm a freaking Barbarian. All classes were nerfed but Sorc got it the worst. Give them the buffs they deserved and they will GIVE YOU THE LONG RETENTION PLAYTIME YOU GUYS DESIRED.

Patch 1.1.0, right before the first Season, gutted every aspect of the game. It's not unplayable (if you aren't trying to play a Sorceress anyway), just adds far more tedious repetitive garbage, heavily nerfs your damage, and greatly impacts all aspects of survivability. Streamers (aka people literally paid to play) are even outraged. Yeah, I'm done. Don't buy this game, seriously.

However, after level 60 or so, the game starts to slow down and by endgame, it a bit boring, and yet, frustrating, because playing as a sorceress meant a lot of deaths from off screen enemies or taking ages to slog through mobs waiting for my skills to be available again. I was sticking in there though and for the most part enjoying it.

And then came the patch on 7/18. Sorceress class went from a tough and frustrating to just about unplayable. Before I could maybe get enough each helltide just barely to open a mystery chest. Now they made it even harder. My skills are junk, cool down is an issue and I tried a NM dungeon that a few days ago was manageable and now is like trying to run through jello. No longer fun. Just added slog to the game, took away the fun parts, and didn't add anything fun back in. Seriously considering Uninstalling and moving on. Major fail which is sad because early game was fantastic.

You just can't do anything to avoid that. Also, you get one shoted by enemies you can't see on the screen. And there is a lot of walking from point a to point b without enemies between. For an Action rpg, it's pretty bad. The loot is not exciting at all, always the same mediocre items and unique items are useless. Those who are good are not humanly possible to find even by playing all days for a century. So you grind for a 1% better item until burn out.
There is no social tools to group with other people so it's pretty much a solo game.
I was hoping them to fix at least some of those issues with the first big patch but instead, they destroyed the little fun we had.
And i was a defender of the game before.
The patch make the game more slow, more frustrating more unfair. To quote someone on reddit: Diablo 4 is an ACTION RPG with slow paced action.
It's a LOOT hunter with boring loot.
This is an MMO with no social aspects.

I feel like the game could become great by just adjusting some numbers and adding minor qol changes and just throwing in as much new and maybe even unbalanced stuff as they can. But they won't. The Devs have shown time and time again, that they want to move in the opposite direction of what the community wants.

There's just a severe lack of content in every single aspect like combat, loot, crafting and social. This sounds exaggerated, but there are actually dozens of small indie games with multiple times the amount of depth in every single aspect of the game.
Now, instead of even trying to fix the problems, the devs decided to slow down the game in every single patch. It's getting slower and more boring by the day, which definitely isn't the right direction here according to the community.

If the game was just fixed it might very well be an above average game, if the devs worked together with the community it might even become a good game. They somehow managed to nerf the game from a solid 5 to a 2-3 at best, though, so lets not get our hopes up.

The Dev team has taken the direction to nerf anything fun to artificially extended the leveling process and making it feel like a chore. Since the release of the first game in 1996, Blizzard's dark fantasy hack-and-slash series has been a mainstay in the gaming community, boasting a dedicated fanbase eagerly anticipating each new release. Unfortunately, Diablo 4 fails to meet these lofty expectations, presenting a slew of issues that render it a significant disappointment.

Firstly, let's address the elephant in the room - Diablo 4's glaring lack of innovative gameplay mechanics. The franchise has long been praised for its strategic depth and rewarding loot system. Yet, Diablo 4 seems stuck in a time loop, regurgitating gameplay elements from its predecessors without any substantial additions or improvements. The result is a game that, while familiar, feels stale and monotonous.

The RPG elements, a cornerstone of the Diablo series, have been oversimplified to a disappointing degree. Character development and customization options are sadly lacking, offering a watered-down experience that lacks the depth and complexity that fans of the series have come to love. The skill tree, once a rich ground for character customization, has been minimized to a collection of linear, unexciting choices.

Graphically, Diablo 4 is adequate but fails to impress. Despite being a 2023 release, the game doesn't showcase the graphical improvements one might expect. The atmospheric, gothic visuals that defined the earlier games are present, but without a significant upgrade in quality, they lose some of their charm.

The game's storyline is equally disappointing. The Diablo series has always offered an intriguing narrative backdrop for its action, but Diablo 4's story feels underdeveloped and at times, even forced. Key plot points are often hastily explained or not fully fleshed out, leaving the player disconnected from the events unfolding around them.

Lastly, the game has been plagued with technical issues since launch. From server instability to random crashes, these problems have made an already lackluster experience even more frustrating. Blizzard's slow response to these issues has only added to the overall dissatisfaction.

It is difficult to overlook these problems and give Diablo 4 a pass solely on the strength of its legacy. The game's failure to innovate or deliver on the level of its predecessors makes it a hard sell for both long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise. Blizzard must address these issues swiftly and decisively if Diablo 4 is to regain the trust and admiration of its fanbase. Until then, it remains a disappointing addition to a once revered franchise.

It’s an action game with nerfed action where you spend most of the time in a corner from enemies waiting for cooldowns to regenerate

I'd much rather have the greater rifts from diablo 3 than these. The level scaling in the game feels absolutely horrible and it's like the game does not want to make you feel any significant progression. If you grind xp to level up, you generally will fall behind. Like the people who powerleveled up to 100, but had to be carried by lower level characters to get gear so they could actually do anything. I feel like they think they gave the players more freedom by having the game being open world, but since the open world content is still level gated that still doesn't work out, and you still can't play with friends easily without hampering your own progress by downgrading your world tier. The game really wows you with the huge map, but that wears off pretty fast when you see how generic it is. The loot grind feels awful, the XP grinding is way too slow, and they just killed the ability to power level your friends so you can play together easily. I waited with making a review until the season 1 patch because I hoped things would improve, but these patch notes just killed any hype I had left for the game.

You have to play this game the way Blizzard wants you to play the game, not the way you want to play the game. I fully expect I may be in the minority feelingt his way though
