    For both fans of the borderlands series, this game is what it says it is, more borderlands. The graphics are great, the gameplay is fun and addicting, and the massive variety of guns is fantastic. However, for players looking to get into the series, I would precede with caution. I find the story and characters lacklustre compared to both other games and previous entries in the series. But, if gameplay is all you care about, this game will be one of your favourites.
    Of course I cannot ignore the elephant in the room; this game has released in a frankly poor state. The game is plagued with bugs and from what I’ve heard, co-op is almost unplayable. In this day and age, games should not be releasing like this, but here we are. I’m frankly quite disappointed with gearbox for this but hopefully they will fix up the game in the coming weeks to make it a more enjoyable experience.
    Overall, I would say that borderlands 3 is an enjoyable experience that may not have fully lived up to its hype, but is a solid game nonetheless.    … Expand

    Really dissapoonted in the story of the game. Loved the previous ones. Mechanics are good, but all in all - if you’ve played the previous ones it’s the same but with new skins on top of it.

    Gearbox went so wrong in this. 5 steps forward, 4 steps back. From the different voice actors, to different writers, to leaving huge plot holes from the previous games, how could the critic reviews possibly give this more than a 5.

    Sadly I fell for the hype and bought on Epic store, and yes I feel so dirty for that choice and will have to live with that for the rest of my life.

    Borderlands 3 is more borderlands 2 but with updated graphics, a more epic scope and storyline, and tons of issues. The terrible lag in multiplayer and menus, input delay, and large number of game-breaking bugs make it difficult to fully enjoy, and is disappointing and unfinished in the state it is in. The humor has gone a little over-the-top, and ends up obnoxious most of the time. TheBorderlands 3 is more borderlands 2 but with updated graphics, a more epic scope and storyline, and tons of issues. The terrible lag in multiplayer and menus, input delay, and large number of game-breaking bugs make it difficult to fully enjoy, and is disappointing and unfinished in the state it is in. The lack of vertical split screen with how wide TVs are today is a bad call, and ends up forcing you to play while squinting through little slits of screen.     The calypso twins could have been handled better, they are not the worst, but the way they handled them makes them so horrible that they should have just used handsome jack again. All of their lines are so god damn cringey. They don't really do much to make the player hate them, they kill off Maya, but the way they do it is really dumb, which ill get to when i write about Ava.

    Ava is the worst of it all, i won't go too into depth with Ava. just imagine having Rae from Starwars: Mary Sue Edition in borderlands 3... and yea, that is basically Ava. she just kinda exists and takes (well, owns) all the credit like you don't even exist. and to top it off she gets Maya killed and then it is apparently Lilith's fault, so yea.

    honestly the story is so bad it is hard to even recommend this game to anyone who played bl2. the writing is written by a bunch of boomers, the jokes are so stale and so old that you won't even chuckle. The only redeeming quality, is the game play, which has had a huge improvement but, even that is getting stale. i wish Anthony Burch wrote the game's story, at least he understood how to write one.    … Expand

    Big fan of BL1 & 2, but very disappointed with 3. It feels like there is a lack in map variety compared to 2, as well as side quests, and then when it comes to enemy variety it felt like I was fighting the same enemies the whole time with a different skin. Glad I didn't get the season pass...Only reason I'm giving it a 4 rather than a 6 is out of frustration.     Somewhere between pre sequel and borderlands 2. Gunplay is better than it ever was but the writing is so bad and the whole game is bland. Classes are "ok" which is more than could be said about the pre sequels horrible classes. There is very little innovation here and it's shocking how this took so many years to make.     The Storly is sooooo **** bad, the humor is insanely bad, its like a edgy 14 year old boy wrote the jokes,its 1 year old and full of bugs srsly patch them allready! But the gameplay is realy good and i also love all the weapons and the graphics.

    Epic Game Store refusing to give me a refund.

    The game won’t run on my computer. it freezes during the claptrap load screen in both DX11 and DX12. I have a GTX 1070. I7 6700K, 32 GB RAM. Tried to refund the game but epic store didnt allow because i had more than 2 hours on the game. ( 2 hours trying to find out what the hell i cant pass the loading screen ). I learn that i will    Epic Game Store refusing to give me a refund.

    Ah....the only issue thats ive encountered so far (give or take 6 hours of gameplay) is frame rate dropping at certain point. Most noticeable during boss fights...

    The little time I did play it for was just excruciatingly painful, the game is just pushing weird SJW virtue signaling crap on to the player, cringy as hell, had to get a refund, no way I was going to sit through 40+ hours of that. my brain can only take so much.

So after replaying the first 16 hours of the game again (yes I lost 16 hours of progress :D) I had the opportunity to really appreciate    I've never written a review before, but here we go.

The user inter face bugs, the dialogue cuts, the unskippable 5 minute cut scenes, the inability to turn in quests, inability to respawn quest vehicles, enemy AI somehow being worse than it was in the last game, inconsistent frame rates (across all resolutions), and my personal favorite items disappearing from the bank like they did in 2!

    Honestly I'm enjoying the story and the side quests feel like there was more effort put into them which is nice, but the game desperately needs polish. As someone who played Borderlands 2 over a thousand hours I consider my self a huge fan of the series, but at the moment the amount of bugs I'm encountering trying to do anything just frustrates me. If you are having a better experience congratulations but I doubt you are, you're just putting the blinders on and ignoring the bugs like I did my first 16 hours.    … Expand

I have put over 2,000 hours into borderlands 1/2/ pre-sequel, and loved them all but can not recommend this to anyone in its current state. With sufficient patches and DLC it may be playable if it is ever on sale with a good PC, but don't bother with PS4 version. This game is one I have beatenPS4 version, apart from numerous glitches and low frame rate had the entire system crash twice. I have put over 2,000 hours into borderlands 1/2/ pre-sequel, and loved them all but can not recommend this to anyone in its current state. With sufficient patches and DLC it may be playable if it is ever on sale with a good PC, but don't bother with PS4 version. This game is one I have beaten and will never touch again, and for a series with as high replay-ability as Borderlands, that on its own makes me hope they don't ever release Borderlands 4.… Expand

    The gameplay has not evolved, the game is buggy and the humour is mean spirited. It's a continuation on the decline Borderlands 2 started and not a return to the high of Borderlands 1.

    And now, for the game. Is buggy as hell, the jokes are stupid before yes, but these are now cringeworthy. And the politics give his step at this beloved franchise. Don't buy the game.

    I really like playing with my boy FL4K. HE has great design and also HIS skills are fun. Sadly the game is pure cringefest in terms of jokes and lategame.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Когда-то давно в каком-то интервью я прочитал, что третья Бордерлендс будет похожа на первую часть. И знаете, так ведь и получилось: тройка вобрала в себя всё самое худшее, что было в первой:
    - скучные локации вернулись, и теперь они огромные и сопровождаются гигантскими картами, что искусственно растягивает время прохождения. В игре нет МАЛЕНЬКОЙ локации, кроме корабля, и то по нему необходимо ПОСТОЯННО бегать взад-вперёд, а по ощущениям он не такой уж и небольшой, так ещё и тёмный. Гениальный левел-дизайн так же предписывает выставлять яркость так, чтобы темно становилось ТЁМНЫМ. Из-за этого некоторые локации приходится проходить вслепую;
    - ещё более неинтересные поди-убей или подай-принеси квесты;
    - постольку-поскольку сюжет, в котором
    а) слиты абсолютно все, как протагонисты (Таннис растеряла долю своего задорного безумия, доктора Зеда нет вообще), так и антагонисты (Катагава совершенно ненужный персонаж, Аурелия в Бл3 и Пресиквеле — две разные женщины, близнецы Калипсо вообще персонажи неубедительные, они МэриСьюхи);
    б) некоторые персонажи и линии просто не должны находиться, например, Клэй и сопротивленцы + к этому что-то вообще должно из сайдквестов перейти в разряд основы (квест, где нужно послушать личные эхо-записи Катагавы, нпрм);
    в) лора и в помине нет;
    - умудрились даже стрельбу похерить! Перед выстрелом задержка, враги иногда не реагируют на попадания даже в мили!

    И так продолжать можно долго, ведь куда не ткни, всё плохо — сценарий ужасен, диалоги написаны ОТВРАТИТЕЛЬНО, лора и шуток нет, персонажи картонные абсолютно все. Геймплей и тот похерен уродским левел-дизайном, работой сражений, жирнотой врагов, инпут-лагом и ужасной оптимизацией даже на хороших и топ-системах.

    Ну что это такое? За что этой игре ставить 10? 9, 8, 7? Тут даже 0 ставить как-то неудобно — подобное поделиё оценивается отрицательными значениями.    … Expand

    AMD fx 8350 8 core 16gb ddr3 ram and AMD radeon R9 390x 8gb and windows 10 OS. 3 hours in and still trying to find a work around or fix to get past game crashing at opening cut scene. I have found the Epic support forums and player feed back very helpful in trying to fix the broken launch game issues.

    Borderlands 3 being epic exclusive was the worst decision they ever made, everything about this PC version sucks including optimization, texture loading issues, freezing, crashing, random stupid glitches that can be pretty game breaking and more, from what i can tell the console versions seem to be fine. if you want any advice from me, if you're truly desperate for this game, GET IT ONBorderlands 3 being epic exclusive was the worst decision they ever made, everything about this PC version sucks including optimization, texture loading issues, freezing, crashing, random stupid glitches that can be pretty game breaking and more, from what i can tell the console versions seem to be fine. if you want any advice from me, if you're truly desperate for this game, GET IT ON CONSOLE AND DO NOT EVER GO TO EPIC FOR IT, or alternatively wait for steam since they have forums and the community can help out there at least.

    i am extremely disappointed in whoever made the decision to make it epic exclusive, taking OUR voices away by taking our forums, i bet if it came out on steam at the same time they would have had these issues fixed by now.    … Expand

    Holy hell is this bad. Its like they didn't have a story idea since borderlands 2. The networking is somehow worse than the pre-sequel. I expected better game play or better story and i got the same game play as pre-sequel and worse story than borderlands 1.

    The score means, in essence, a degree of recommendation for the product by the reviewer. So, when the game is released on platforms that said reviewer and their community is using, perhaps the score will reflect the actual value of the product (if, by then, its existence is still remembered). Until then, it cannot be reviewed positively.

Most of this stuff could be fixed with a optimization patch.     I have an incredibly powerful computer but the optimization is so bad that if I try to use snipers the game starts stuttering like crazy. Barely playable on the lowest settings

    I rented the game from Redbox (thank God) no matter how I mess with the visual settings all I get is a black screen after the intro video. I don't know WTF the problem could cause this, but I am extremely glad I did not purchase this game. Randy Pithford is a seriation and his words are not to be believed.

Graphics aren't anything to write home about so I'm sure the game shouldn't be running so poorly on a 2080ti. I hope they fix it soon, who knows.     Pure garbage, one of the mostly poorly optimized games I've ever played. Constant fps drops and microstuttering especially when aiming down scopes. What a disappointment, wish I hadn't spent hours messing around with the graphics settings so I could get a refund. Back to classic wow I go.

I like the fact that you cannot grow too attached to a weapon because it will become obsolete as you level up: change is good and equally good ones will come your way, keeping your experience varied. The main opponents are not as annoying as people would have you believe. On the other hand, it’s essentially the same as what came before. Get to an area, kill all the spawning mooks, then move on. No problem for me, as I love it, simple as it is. I’d give it a solid 9 if not for the rampant misandry.
    But then, at this point I’ve yet to see a female NPC that is a complete clown, like 90% of the male ones. Female NPC badasses I’ve met so far: Lilith, Ellie, Lorelei, Maya, Moxxi, Ava and also the female twin. Male badasses: Zer0. Notice something?
    And then comes a mission in which you have to kill one of Moxxi’s exes, Killavolt. His sin? Apparently, he disappointed her. It’s a stream of comments on how he's obnoxious and was no good in bed, minimally endowed, egotistical, overcompensating. You are also required to shoot him in his male parts, just to add offense to injury. Finally, after he is dead, you must hang a trophy of him to the toilet. Try to imagine what would happen if the genders were swapped and you were required to kill a woman who disappointed a man, with constants comments on how she was sexually inept and a total loser. The game would be trashed by all critics, there would be boycotts and worse.
    Well, if you don’t mind that and you like Borderlands humor and shooting, this game is great. Me, I can’t overlook Gearbox’s hatred of men, so it’s a middling score for me.    … Expand

    I've played 3 of the 4 classes only Siren hasn't been tried, and my only complaint here is that Moze's cooldown is wayyy longer than either Flak or Zane's, and the mech when being used in a huge gunfight seems to deplete very fast until upgraded VERY HEAVILY in the skill tree.

    Lets move on to the Meh, what hasn't really changed in a good or bad way. The environment to start isn't anything jaw dropping from my experience here, there are open world pockets put into what felt like a hallway (Pandora did feel much more open world then any of the other planets which suffered from "Hallway syndrome") where your character is constantly being strung along to help the story progress. This isn't horrible but honestly if felt more mind numbing then any Borderlands prior, due to these horrible cons.

    The bad. Characters are boring/annoying/Don't fit in with their previous role in the series. Very few characters do not fit into one if not more of these statements.
    The AI. I really haven't seen people complaining about this but for a borderlands game i felt these Enemies moved around horribly. I played entirely single player and when I'm down without a npc my only chance of revival is the second chance mechanic. The problem being 80% of the enemies will literally run far away from you and hide behind cover, what?!?! In prior games I've never felt so frustrated with getting downed and having to try to strategically play so when i'm about to die i'm right next to an enemy so i can not be screwed. The 20% that do move towards you are Badass or fanatic type enemies that if you haven't already been dumping clips upon clips into you have no chance of killing them due to the next big wtf.
    Your FFYL timer is also a health bar? so you can get nuked and die in your chance to revive in like 2 seconds.. And the only enemies near you will do high amount of dmg or the little dudes are hiding.

    I didn't have many bugs/ performance issues to comment on, Played on a RTX2070 with a I7-7700k on release day until this review. smooth 60 fps at 1080 on high details. wish this was eveyone's situation but it inst. Also weird note the cut-scenes are at 30fps locked, so whenever starting one there would be slight fps problems for like 5 seconds until it was running smooth 30 for the cut-scene, then some more problems for 5 seconds then smooth 60 fps gameplay.    … Expand

    I loove Borderlands in general, and with rhe third Opus, all the dlc's, (with handsome Jack YEAAAH) they juste made it to the top,a lot of borderlands humor, everything is almost perfect, maybe the villains are not as charismatic as the Handsome Jack, the only bad point I think, We loved to hate Jack and we just hate the siblings.

    The actual story line are decent, and jokes are mostly flat and less spicy as it was before. Talking honestly, even Presequel are better than this.

    Why zero? at first the game ive played with two friends was nice till we get to the first vault. Here one of my buddy´s game throw him out every time we entert the vault and as long as we were in there he cant rejoin. Trying to change almost everything and none works so we cant play further till they fixed the bug .

    Zooming stuttering makes it unplayable. Contacted Epic Games for a refund after 4 hours of gameplay (most of it trying to fix issues) and 2 days after purchase. Was denied. Spent $150 australian. Avoid.

    I wish I could give this game a decent score because I was such a huge fan of the franchise in the past. Unfortunately, this game just flat out doesn't run well. Stuttering, lag, and other technical issues plague what might otherwise be a fantastic addition to the franchise. I am putting the game away and waiting for a patch to fix things but right now it's just unplayable for me.     Gearbox has a problem: the fantastic Borderlands 2 is too good to be beaten. But in the case of Borderlands 3, it is still more than a worthy successor. The filmmakers brought many pop-cultural references, maybe pushing too hard on how they want to be “modern”, but otherwise it's a great game again. [Issue#298]

    Borderlands 3 offers a generous experience, with colourful characters, neat gameplay and a charming universe. Its formula, very close to that of the previous episodes does not revolutionize the show but its small new features bring a little freshness and the scenario makes us want to go to the end of the adventure. Its dynamism and nervousness make it a choice piece for adrenaline-ready FPS lovers and license fans.

    The fun, humorous storyline, some great dialogue and theatrical accents of the diverse characters, beautifully varied locations and the same great gunplay that Borderlands is renowned for, means that Borderlands 3 becomes another must have title in the series.
