    I don't understand the hate. The actual people making the game have no control over where it's for sale. If you liked bl2 then I can't see how you wouldn't like this. The movement is a million times better. The gunplay is better. The humor is back. I love it so far.

    Easily the best FPS of 2019 so far. Runs smoothly on my 1080ti at 1440p. Funny characters, excellent gun play, good cut scenes, multiplayer options, and unlimited grind potential. Not sure what else you can ask for for $60... Great job Gearbox and thank you!

    Unlike most of these negative reviewers, I've actually played the game. It's still Borderlands so if you hated the previous game you won't like this. If you did, it's awesome. There are lots of great improvements, skilltrees are more elaborate, more varied skills... There are some minor rough edges still like the map being a bit annoying to control (please zoom out further by default) and it is definitely a heavier game. I run it at low on qhd on a 1060 6 gb to get around 70-80 fps, but low still looks good, I honestly don't see that much difference so I like the better framerate. I'm sure we'll get some patches to improve it.
    Overall really enjoying the game. Don't listen to the epic/randy hate crew, just get it and come blow stuff up.    … Expand

    I tried the game last night, I enomely played 2 and I find that this opus just brings the new features that are missing from 2. The graphics are very nice and more detailed than in the 2 which was already beautiful, and the gameplay is more dynamic.

    This game is simply amazing, everything good about Borderlands is still here and even better, movement is incredible now, graphics are superb.
    The only reason why this game is getting negative bombed is because is exclusive of Epic Games.

    I feel like people are just giving this game bad reviews because it's on the Epic Games Store, but don't fret. This game is amazing, feels amazing, and plays amazing.

    I am not afraid to admit it . I am sucker for Borderlands franchise and Borderlands 3 does not disappoints. If you like previous BL games you will like BL3 because the game is not huge departure from the past 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'.It is. You will feel right at home when you start the game for the first time. Similar graphics and yet nicely upgraded. Similar weapon inventoryI am not afraid to admit it . I like the game humor, new characters, cool weapons and colorful graphics. I just like this game a lot. I want more of Borderlands and this game gives me just that. More Borderlands without re-inventing the wheel.

    Another thing that needs to be mentioned is that there are no micro translations in this game (aside from season pass). What you see is what you get and this is awesome. I really do appreciate that and I am happy to support developer and publisher that does not treat us games like ATM machine.

    I do not own discrete video card and I play this game on AMD Ryzen 3400G with Vega 11 integrated graphics . the game runs very well all considered. I bought the game right after patch was released improving game performance. There are many visual settings to play with and the game looks great even on low settings. My Ryzen 3400g runs BL3 in mid 40FPSs at @1080p with low settings and resolution scale set @75%. I get PS4 and Xbox One S type experience with $150 APU from AMD. Microsoft Xbox controller has full support out of the box.

    Lastly i want to address negative ratings on Metacritics. Developers deserve to keep more profits and Epic competition is good for PC gaming industry. You might not like that the game is exclusive to Epic but eventually this game will come to Steam. I buy games both from Steam and Epic. I love Borderlands and I want to support people who worked tirelessly over last few years to bring us this AAA title. Consider that this game has no micro-transactions. Just for that one fact this game deserves your support even if you do not agree with exclusive games.

    So just go pick up the game and lose yourself in Pandora for many months to come.    … Expand

    If you liked borderlands 2 you will love this game. They basically improved on everything. Graphics are noticeabley better, I recomend playing on performance. Movement, climbing, sliding is awesome. Looting is quicker, you don't have to spam the loot button. Guns feel great. And it still has that great borderlands charm.

    Very fun game. Playing it single player and having a great time so far. Lots of explosions and guns with tons of monsters and amazing graphics on PC. Also, the humor is great and it's a really funny game. The game is really colorful and full of life.

New locations, enemies, everything! 2K has made a ton of bad decisions and its a big reason why people are leaving negative reviews but this game was made by Gearbox and if you leave all the outside thingsThis is how you make a sequel! Of course, going in with the mindset that they'll never be better villains than Handsome Jack will probably hurt your perception of them. The Calypso twins are funny and douchey in their own right, but they're a completely different brand of characters from Jack and I found myself fascinated by their origins. As for the gameplay, the weapons all feel great to handle and I've played as the Siren and the Gunner so far, both of whom I've enjoyed. The reason I give it a 9 instead of a 10 is because I've had some trouble with how the game cutscenes look on certain-sized screens (21:9) and that does detract a bit from the experience.     Amazing music's graphics gameplay. Everything is top. Gearbox have gone on another level and they deserve every cent. Don't want to spoil anything just buy and have a blast

    Steam **** coming. This game and Steam are belonged to each other, because of community and achievement part. But we have what we have and it is still a borderlands game. Next time I ask to put a game on both platforms and let users decide where they want to spend money.

    Well, I Hve mixed feelings for this one, but gameplay wise it was a vlast. Story.. Oh well bad and good at the same time. Antagonists are just iritating, companions are alright but hilarious. I hoped that there will be something more about weapons, like modifications or so which would be new to franchise. But still, it was Very good one.

Every story in the franchise thus far has been bad/forgettable and this game is no different in that regard.

    What this game does get more wrong than its predecessors however, is the characters and dialogue. It's super cringe and i MEAN super. Infact its so bad id almost recommend you just mute the game entirely and listen to music while you shoot the ever living poop out of things. You wont be missing anything worth experiencing if you do, and thats what i ended up doing after having my fill of the asinine writing and voice acting.

    Which brings me to my final point. The fact that i was able to mute the game entirely, yet still play it through to the end and have a lot of fun doing so, tells you something about the game and its gameplay. I have only ever really played borderlands because the gameplay loop is extremely satisfying to me, and its no less satisfying here. Infact its endlessly more satisfying, because the shooting and combat as a whole has been overhauled and boy does it pay off. SO much more responsive are the guns and shooting mechanics, the movement is sleek and fun where the previous games felt clunky and slow.

    As a game, Borderlands 3 improves on almost EVERYTHING in terms of gameplay over the previous titles. It also somehow manages to do all of the other stuff waaaaay worse than the previous games. But ask yourself this....

    Do you really care about the story or do you just want to shoot 5 acres of sh*t out of a good variety of enemies with an extremely good variety of guns?

    if the answer is "no i dont care about the story at all" then this game will not disappoint you and in fact will most likely leave you very happy.    … Expand

    About the only thing that warrants critique is performance. I am playing this on an overclocked 2080ti, with a 3900x, and at 3440x1440 I am averaging about 80fps on a mix of high and ultra settings. The game does look better than BL2, but not THAT much better. I remember playing BL2 on a 960m and a 2 core laptop cpu, and it was running quite ok. This thing is not optimized at all.

    Played 10hrs or so, havent encountered any bugs yet - except DX12. DX12 mode does not even run on my pc.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The gameplay is incredibly fun and the various builds on the characters provide plenty of different ways to play the game, which is great. Even though the 1 billion guns that the engine is capable of really only translates to a few hundred guns that actually feel different to use, there is still tons to explore and try out. On the higher mayhem modes, certain areas can still provide at least some challenge, although some builds can make the entire game relatively easy. Some parts of the game were a little buggy at times, for me, but it was nothing major ever. Some mechanics can be a bit frustrating, and there are times when you can go through a bit of a gun drought in the main story, and you just feel a bit weak, but overall, it gives a great feeling of your character being powerful for most of the main story. The main problem with the game is the story and writing in general. The characters they chose from the past games to use for the main story of this one are simply the least compelling and likable ones the writers could have possibly picked. WThat makes this even worse, is that characters who have already been developed and who are interesting and beloved like Brick, Mordecai, and Tina take a backseat to a new addition Ava, who makes me want to headbutt a belt sander. Additionally, new additions Clay and Lorelei, although quite benign presences, fill up spots where we could have gotten to see vault hunters from Borderlands 2. The Calypso twins are a definite step down from Handsome Jack as far as how they serve as villains, but I did not find them nearly as irritating as being left out of any scenes involving them. Several cutscenes with key plot points go down in the same area your character just fought a boss, yet you are nowhere to be seen. The writers try really hard to make us think of Lillith as a fearless leader, and Ava as a strong but misunderstood and angsty teen, but it all feels very forced and none of it works. Please stop having Lillith calling us "killer" and saying "sup." "Sup" is not a catchphrase, and it's reminicent of what I thought seemed cool when I was in 7th grade and wore hoodies in 80 degree weather. Ava is just whiny and annoying, and she did nothing to redeem her character from her blunder which got Maya killed. That whole part made no sense also. How come when Tyreen absorbs Lillith's powers it takes like 15 seconds and she doesn't die, and when she takes the life force out of people those husks are left over, but when Troy touches Maya's arm for like 2 seconds, she just disintegrates??? Maya's death is supposed to be some sort of emothional catalyst for the events of the game and should have served to push Ava's character forward, but neither of those things happened. All that happened was that a character that we liked from Borderlands 2 is now gone so that a worse new character can take her spot. Apparently Gearbox hired four writers for this game which is up from one writer in the first two games. That's pretty pathetic considering Borderlands 1 had a better story, and I'm still not entirely sure what happened in it. Rather than spending all of their time trying to force certain characters down our throats, they should have used characters they knew were liked and focused their attention on making better villains and writing jokes that were a bit more nuanced that "shoot him in the dick."… Expand

    The on-line co-op mode do have some ping problems.
    I'm a looting FPS fan so this game is good for me.Guns are interesting and the game design is fine.
    The four characters' skill tree and build is also a good system

    This game has amazing gameplay and improves on almost every aspect of Borderlands 2, though the story is utter **** and the UI of the game makes Microsoft look like a godsend, everything else lives up to the hype, as the game improved greatly in performance through many updates by the developers, which included extra content on the side.

    I loove Borderlands in general, and with rhe third Opus, all the dlc's, (with handsome Jack YEAAAH) they juste made it to the top,a lot of borderlands humor, everything is almost perfect, maybe the villains are not as charismatic as the Handsome Jack, the only bad point I think, We loved to hate Jack and we just hate the siblings.

    For me, this game equals the hype! Gearbox did an awesome job! I love the fighting mechanics, the characters and the story line. My PC is 6 years old and runs the game smoothly! I'd love to see it run on ULTRA when I update my graphics card! but for now, I'm having a Lot of fun with my old junker of a PC. I'm getting around 50 FPS, zero lag when playing with my friends online. The onlyFor me, this game equals the hype! Gearbox did an awesome job! I love the fighting mechanics, the characters and the story line. My PC is 6 years old and runs the game smoothly! I'd love to see it run on ULTRA when I update my graphics card! but for now, I'm having a Lot of fun with my old junker of a PC. I'm getting around 50 FPS, zero lag when playing with my friends online. The only complaint I have is with Marcus's fricken MAN BUN!! OMG!! CUT IT OFF.     It lives up to the content you should expect when played the previous releases.

    Apart from everything that the game delivers it only drops frame rate now and then, but 90% of time it runs smoothly.

    i don't know why people review this game as bad, it's the same old mechanichs from the other presentations, if you are a fan of borderlands franchise this game is for you, the same experience and the same mature languaje, i really enjoy this game and if you play it with a friend is more fun. ill give 10/10 because make his job, very few bugs and lots of blood.

    Excellent game. Beautiful to look at and a lot of fun to play, I've dumped a ton of hours into it. They have continued to add to and improve it as time goes on. No microtransactions, excellent. My only tiny gripe is that the characters could have written a bit better, very childish humor that often falls flat.

    Why not a 10? first there are just buggs and some annoying ones too.. i lost my hole bank/shared storage and im still mailing with gearbox about it. i lost around 20 legendary items and some very strong ones because i was saving them there so i could try new ones look    I played around 50+ hours right now my main character is level 50+ got secondary character that will be level 50 soon.

    i'm not get higher than 80/90 fps and sometimes it wil be around 45.. the textures when you spam the first time are bad but that is an easy update to patch that.. sometimes i got delay in my inventory when i open in after doing alot bosses.

    Why i love the game?
    just because its borderlands. i got a **** ton of guns some very fun ones, i love to see some old characters backstory i love to see some old characters come back and i cannot wait to see the dlc in the hope we gonna search for lilith    … Expand

    I have never really liked shooters before.
    Started to play Borderlands 3 as friends told me that BL2 was great and i really liked the art style.
    Now as I played through the story 2 times (normal and TVHM) with lots of side quests and doing end game activities i can say that this game is just fantastic! The music and the funny characters were great (enemies could be less stupid), but    I have never really liked shooters before.

    Weapons are a big part of this game and they are an absolute 10/10. Unfortunately i like to try all weapons that drop in game and if you have the same illness your first game time will be 1/3 part gun testing because there are so many types of them :)

    My favourite thing was the diversity in locations. I really enjoyed the atmosphere on the planets. The player talents/builds are really thematic and well designed (sure need some power correction on them but we are getting patches week by week with fixes).
    There are/were?/ some problems with fps and game crashes they fixed most, luckily i don't have any problem on 60 fps.

The gameplay is very tight and enhanced by the new movement options, mantle and slide. These can give you a few more tactical angles and nothing feels better than sliding up to an enemy and finishing them with a switch shot the groin.

    It's a lot of fun and the characters are as big as ever. The addition of the new locations makes it feel a lot bigger and more varied than previous versions, as does the amount of guns!

    There are a few bugs, but none of them I have come across are game breaking.

    Just don't run it with DX12.

    If you love Borderlands, you'll love this. It's immature, loud and brash but loads of fun.    … Expand

    To start, at its core this is inherently a borderlands sequel and should be praised for how true to the series it feels, gameplay feels smooth, fast paced and rewarding. The gameplay loop is identical to how previous editions are, grinding mobs for levels to build an ever growing machine of a character, looping maps to find chests, bosses, rare mob spawns, and of course grinding for legendary guns. If you like me, enjoyed this grind of the previous titles, you will pick this game up and immediately feel right at home.

    The visuals are stunning, albeit not optimised in the slightest at launch, having to turn down some settings such as material complexity in order to get consistant frame rates. Frame drops can take you out of enjoyment of the game as the performance with some of the settings turned up can be completely immersion breaking, some fights can drop the frame rate from 80 - 50, which on a 144hz panel is something you definitely notice.

    However, that being said after altering some settings, the game looks the part and the game runs perfectly smooth for me, particle effects light up the battlefield, arms, blood, legs and heads fly around as an instant reward for targeting that body part, the lighting is so good, dark areas feel dark, light areas make your eyes adjust, textures are super sharp and crisp and the colour palette has seen a massive upgrade.

    Sound stage is also fantastic, gun sounds feel punchy and bassy, explosions distort the sound arounds you, shotguns sound powerful and pistols pop, i couldnt believe how good the sound effects where after i first stepped into the game, hearing the first car back fire after stepping on the accelerator was a small detail i greatly appreciated

    The story line and characters are mediocre at best, the story writing and the jokes just do not seem fitting for the series, comparing Handsome Jack with the Calypso Twins, they just appear empty, uninteresting and provide no sort of connection with the player. The humour has also taken a step back in this game, however there was a few moments that i had a chuckle to myself, mainly hearing Zane respond to people and the world around him, playing an angry scottish man is always going to be funny.

    That being said, i have never played borderlands primarily for the story, i play to become a god that can rain hell of hundreds of mobs with interesting and unique guns, spending hours to obtain rare legendaries, and playing with different class builds, the story was always just an added bonus to help guide me to the end game where i play it my own way, and take on whichever boss i want at any given time, and for that reason I highly recommened Borderlands 3, it has nailed absolutely everything i was looking for in the next chapter of the series.    … Expand

    Game is awesome. I haven't had one technical issue on PC and i'm playing it in 4k and getting 60fps on a 1080ti. Don't listen to the bad reviews the game is a blast. If you loved BL2 you'll love BL3.

    i dont get all those negative Scores... maybe Because Epic Launcher?

    This game is a same old BD2 whit better loot, and more Gore and nice new characters.
    i got 100-160fps no lag or Fps drops and no bugs or other issues.

    i like the game and i realy enjoy it.

    The game looks beautiful. I don't know how anyone could think its hardly an improvement over BL2. Do a side by side of the two. BL2 looks like hot garbage. The lighting in this game is so impressive, I love it combined with the cell shaded style. The guns are all so unique. Every gun I have picked up has been completely different and fun to use, no matter the stats. The skill trees are far more in depth and allow a lot more catering to your individual playstyle.

    The changes to co-op has allowed for far superior drop-in drop-out co-op play. Playing with friends has never been easier. I love the shared loot and scaled enemies system. It just makes it so much more enjoyable. It was so annoying in previous borderlands games that you couldn't progress further than your friends or you would just one hit everything in their game. BL3 has completely remedied that.

    if you're going to get your panties in a bunch over the game not being on steam, I'm going to go ahead and give you a big YIKERS and a big "Grow up." Who cares. You can still play the game. I haven't had a single issue with epic games launcher. Enjoy waiting 6 months.

    I know this was ranty but this review bombing stuff is just ludicrous. Imagine being so devoid of individual thought that you give a massive AAA title like BL3 a metacritic score equivalent to BIG RIGS OVER THE ROAD RACING. Give me a break..

    Apart from the bugs which people have reported and the performance issues (both of which I somehow haven't noticed yet on a bloody GTX 760) the game itself is great. Gunplay has greatly improved and the skill trees have a lot more options now than "you get more grenades". They also reward exploration a bit more than "here's a badass rank" which is a huge improvement imo.

    I'm not done with this game and the only complaint I have so far are the cutscenes (1440p) are cropped weirdly, but other than that, the game runs fine. Very smooth on my end, love the humor (not as good as 2 so far), love the boss fights thus far. I know a lot of people are still so upset over the Epic store...but really, it's still on PC.     I don't know why people are saying this game is exactly like the other BL games like its a bad thing. That's what we borderlands fans wanted! More Bl2 but better!
    Better shooting, great skill trees, awesome graphics (that will hold up longer then any cod game) funny dialogue.
    Gtx 1060 with a i7 8700k and I get a smooth 60fps with no crashes whatsoever. I have well over 1500hrs on BL2 and    I don't know why people are saying this game is exactly like the other BL games like its a bad thing. That's what we borderlands fans wanted! More Bl2 but better!

    For 7 years i have waited. Been looking farward to a better looking and better game than borderlands 2 which i thought was top notch. THIS GAME IS JUST THAT. It has great graphics while still holding the borderlands genere pure. It has new and exiting guns. You have to test em all out to see what is good and what is fun to play with.     For me personally, though I haven't come across many of the issues a lot of people are struggling with. The FPS is nowhere near what I was expecting (hovering around 60-70.     I've only played as FL4K so far and they're a fun VH to start with. The story is enjoyable and the humour can go from cheesy to laugh out loud funny from moment to moment.

    The game itself is more of the same from Gearbox, with a few modern tweaks...
    - The movement and combat feel more fluid due to better physics and animation
    - Gunplay and melee feel more solid and satisfying
    - The addition of slide and mantle make movement feel much smoother.

    Few mild disappointments though...
    - Loading from one zone to another in the same way as BL2 feels lazy. The maps I've seen really aren't that big and complex. This solution to join feels really dated.
    - Even though I've been lucky to not experience anything major bugs, I feel like performance needs to be improved
    - I run into stupid stuff like getting stuck to the scenery
    - FL4K's default head is animated but none of the others I've seen so far are.

    Overall, If you're not a victim of performance issues, this game is a worthy follow on from the second game. If you love Borderlands, you'll love this. And if Gearbox support this in the way BL2 was supported, there will be plenty to do for years to come.    … Expand

    I'm having a blast and cannot wait for crossplay to finally play Borderlands in coop. I like how the variety of guns allows you to enjoy different play styles.

    The story is pretty crap so far (cults... fascinating), but on the positive side this just lets you focus on the arcadey destruction. I also like the quirky humor.

    I haven't suffered any performance issues so far on my GTX 1080 Ti.

    Визуал улучшили по всем статьям, юмор на уровне, хороший сюжет, к сожалению нельзя менять язык озвучки.
    В целом - прекрасное продолжение серии.

    Вот причины которые я слышал
    1, Плохая оптимизация - может быть она и плохая но я играю в данный момент на старом ноутбуке на котором чудо что она запустилась и все норм 2.     6. Пустой мир - Да мир не идеален! Но в B2 он был более пустым а в Борде 3 вам дали и охоту за головами, дневники 1 волтхантера, части железяк, угон машин, вышки, море пасхалок которые приятно находить самому и наверное что то еще я еще не прошел игру

    7. Баги - Я начал играть с релиза и играю сейчас и на данный момент (19 сентября) у меня было 3 бага! 1 в начале когда железяка котился в центр вербовки 2 у нпс на 10 сек было серое лицо 3 и это самое страшное нпс не пошел дальше по заданию и я это исправил перезаходом что занело у меня минуту!

    Больше причин я не нашел или не вспомнил! Игра великолепна! Мне очень обидно что ей занизели оценки не за что! Я уверен что это из за того что вы не решили разбираться в игре а просто услышали чье то мнение и все!

    Игра не идеально и заслуживает 8 балов но я бы поставил ей 9 а так как вы ставите ей плохие оценки я поставлю 10 чтоб немного поднять оценку игре!
    Разбирайтесь в вопросе а не верьте кому то просто так!
    Я впервые на метакритике и хз как тут что работает но если тут можно отредачить пост и оценку прошу вас диванные критики посмотрите игру снова! разберитесь в ней сами и сделайте ей заслуженую оценку!    … Expand

    Gearbox has a problem: the fantastic Borderlands 2 is too good to be beaten. But in the case of Borderlands 3, it is still more than a worthy successor. The filmmakers brought many pop-cultural references, maybe pushing too hard on how they want to be “modern”, but otherwise it's a great game again. [Issue#298]

    Borderlands 3 offers a generous experience, with colourful characters, neat gameplay and a charming universe. Its formula, very close to that of the previous episodes does not revolutionize the show but its small new features bring a little freshness and the scenario makes us want to go to the end of the adventure. Its dynamism and nervousness make it a choice piece for adrenaline-ready FPS lovers and license fans.

    The fun, humorous storyline, some great dialogue and theatrical accents of the diverse characters, beautifully varied locations and the same great gunplay that Borderlands is renowned for, means that Borderlands 3 becomes another must have title in the series.
