Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sports an excellent return for Cal Kestis and his adventures to escape the grasp of the Empire. Thanks to a ton of new additions in both gameplay and customization, you've never felt closer to being a Jedi than in this game even though the performance could've been better.

When a game is delayed for a long time, it usually doesn't bode well. But Dambuster Studios has delivered a strong zombie-slayer in Dead Island 2, with a lot of content, loads of weapons and anatomically correct zombies. It does have some technical issues, but that doesn't stand in the way of fun.

Many would consider remaking a classic like Resident Evil 4 impossible. However Capcom has taken up the gauntlet and managed to make the classic even better. With an expanded storyline, better movement options and fighting skills, as well as many big and small quality of life improvements, this remake is better in almost every way, except for the graphics, which could have done with a bit more polish

When is a remake not a remake? Ishin at times feels like the developers cut corners by incorporating existing models from other games and the original. NPC characters and animations lack refinement and didn't get the overhaul you would expect from a remake. However, the cutscenes and the original story remains strong and the gameplay with its new use of weapons and the added team cards are solid as ever. Together, Ishin fails to rise above the average, which could have been easily avoided.

Wild Hearts has a magical world and the Kemono are challenging and incredible-looking creatures. The Karakurisystem is definitely the best part of the game and differentiates Wild Hearts from other monster-hunting games. The hunting is great besides some minor frustrations and the world is incredible, but the story is nothing special. It's a basic hero story but it helps build the world of Wild Hearts. Wild Hearts is an incredible game and you should definitely give it a shot.

Atomic Heart offers an unique style and atmosphere with exciting gameplay and an incredible soundtrack. The game, however beautifully crafted, falls short in various departments. The protagonist is absolutely awful and shows no interest in all the stuff that is going on in the world of Atomic Heart. That also leads to not really wanting to explore the world to find all the secrets, because the protagonist just doesn't care.

Dead Space is a great re-invention of the original that perfectly balances the look and feel of the original, while incorporating new and updated gameplay elements of later entries in the series. One piece Odyssey celebrates 25 years of the anime by providing a game with gameplay that is at times just as old. The turnbased fights have some interesting new elements, but outside the fights a lot feels oldfashioned. Quests lack a sense of progress, no fast travel during quests and the use of savepoints make this game feel like it hasn't progressed beyond a few decades ago. Fortunately, the anime itself is brilliant and makes you eager to go watch it right after you close the game.

Jitsu Squad is a fantastic co-op game for 4 players. The beat 'em up plays smoothly and shows the love for the genre perfectly in it's style and the many references to others videogames. Still, it is not perfect as a whole. There is no drop in or drop out co-op and you don't get to change characters without starting all over. Still, when you love co-op games or just mashing enemies in a beat 'em up, this is a game more than worth trying.

Hogwarts Legacy perfectly shows what is possible in the Wizarding World. The game has a magical new adventure, with a lovely cast of new characters. The beautiful world is filled with small little details and a enormous amount of content. The combat system is also surprisingly deep and the puzzles will crack your brain, whilst never becoming frustrating. We do miss Quidditch, but Avalanche Software has put a lot of love in Hogwarts Legacy and it shows.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a fine remaster for those wanting to experience the story of Zack Fair before Rebirth comes out. With a distinct and interesting artstyle, which mixes a realistic car and city with streetart cartoon drawings for special effects, NFS Unbound definitely sets itself apart from the rest. The game sports a Souls-like mechanism of risk vs reward and a day-night cycle that work, but also hinders progress through the storyline. the races are fun and the many collectibles are well integrated. The near-mandatory police chases quickly become a nuisance and we wouldn't mind if those didn't make a return.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the 40K-version of the Vermintide games and Fatshark delivers again a fantastic co-op experience. The combat feels visceral and meaty and is a true upgrade compared to the former games. There are however a lot less classes, even though they all feel unique. Some features are clearly removed during production, so hopefully they will get added next to more classes. Fatshark has already released some updates, so the future is looking bright for Darktide.

Sonic Frontiers is a bold new move for our favourite hedgehog. The open worlds give a sense of freedom and there is a lot to do. Unfortunately the most of it is the mandatory collecting of a lot of stuff to progress through the game. The controls feel good, but at higher speeds they won't always work and the camera is a total disaster. This makes the game way less enjoyable than it should be.

This edition is supposed to be a fresh new start to the longrunning series, but stumbles at the get-go. Longrunning features like the Dancefloor are missing as are most of the songs of the new Just Dance+, which only contains about 25% of the old Unlimited. The core mechanics of the dances is still there as are a some 40+ new songs to dance to, as well as a new menu that needs some getting used to but ultimately makes life easier. Marvel's Midnight Suns is an okay game but could've been a lot better. The game is filled with boring tasks and side missions and the main character doesn't have much of a personality or many emotions. The game would've been a lot better if the developers didn't include all the RPG aspects. The Devil in Me is a worthy final chapter in this season of The Anthology. It provides a believable, interesting story that carefully builds tension, but also provides space to build out the releations between the team members. The Callisto Protocol clearly gets its inspiration from the older Dead Space games, thanks to co-creator Glenn Schofield being the director on the game. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle could perhaps be seen as a weird experiment that owed its success to good release timing. The sequel, Sparks of Hope, proves that view incorrect. But if you play long enough, the jacket secretly fits like a glove and you have a smile on your face non-stop when you play Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition and that's ultimately what counts!.

The Ascent provides a vibrant, living environment for you to run around in and shoot at. The world is brimming with walking-talking NPCs and neon-filled areas. While the story isn't really that memorable, it's decent enough for you to push on to the next mission, which will lead you to diverse locations and up against different enemies. The bigger enemies can be a bit too much bullet sponges, but otherwise the gameplay and diverse possibilities are quite satisfying.

Hotel Transylvania Scary Tale Adventures is a very entertaining game for the kids, but not as fun as the movies. The game gives you the adventures of three fairy tales but in vampire style. All three stories are funny. You will have to platform a lot and with that an annoying feature comes up: the camera which doesn't always help. Next to that the game is one to play, but we would wait until it is on sale.

Despite the battles being a bit of a letdown, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is a must have for those who love plot driven games. Up until the very last moment you're still not sure of what's going on, but that's not annoying. Far from it: every single plot twist just makes it harder to put your console away.

TT Games has outdone itself by reinventing the LEGO formula to create the most complete Star Wars game in history. The mechanics have been reworked to suit both young and old players, while keeping that great LEGO humor throughout. As Ben Kenobi would say: "This is the Star Wars game people are looking for!"

After the Fall is a fine VR-shooter if you're up for blasting some zombies with your friends. The gunplay is good and the Snowbreeds that are coming to kill you will haunt your nightmares. It's a shame the game lacks variety and is pretty short to boot.

With the next-gen version Rockstar has brought us the ultimate version of Grand Theft Auto 5. The graphics have been improved a lot, the loading times are much faster and the PS5-version even has a couple of features for the DualSense controller. The question, however, is whether you want to replay the same adventure again, as there is no new content, nor any improvements or additions to the gameplay. A version purely made for newcomers or true fans of GTA 5.

This game tries to do a lot. It re-tells the story of the very first Final Fantasy, but is also an Origin story. It tries to pay homage to 35 years of FF games, but also provide a new experience. It wants to be a Souls game, but without the Souls difficulty, a hacker-slasher and a loot game. Against a backdrop of sub-par graphics, some choices work, some don't. The combat is pretty good, while the graphics, level design and story let down. This entry to the Final Fantasy multiverse won't be for the ages.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands looks a lot like Borderlands 3 and plays a bit like it as well. Luckily, the Wonderlands offers up a fantastic setting full of great enemies and humor that hits a lot better. It's a shame the Overworld feels so unnecessary, although there is plenty of fun to have thanks to the bigger focus on customization.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a great adventure that's great to play. The colorful design brings this 3D Kirby adventure to life, while additions like the mouthful powers add are a fun new twist to the gameplay. It's a shame the co-op is a bit poor due to player 2 not getting the full range of powers. Nonetheless, this is a Kirby game that is worth your time.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a thrilling paranormal rollercoaster with ups and downs. Exploring the city of Tokyo is fun and defeating your first few enemies is a blast, its flaws also become apparent very quickly. The game lacks enemy variety and the same goes for Akito's weapon arsenal. Ghostwire gets a little repetitive and sadly doesn't find a way to fix that problem before the credits roll.

Disco Elysium is wonderfully strange and absurd, but uses this weirdness to discuss very real topics. The new voice acting from the Final Cut is a great addition that really fills the world with character and gives you an idea of the multicultural space. Apart from a bug here and there and slightly wonky controls, there is very little wrong with the game.

With Dawn of Ragnarok, Ubisoft has finished the Assassin's Creed Valhalla-arc, and it does so with style. Players can explore a huge new world and use new powers, which add a whole new layer to the gameplay. Besides the storyline there is plenty to do in Svartalfheim. The world does feel a bit repetitive at times and the price tag of the DLC is a bit high, but for fans of Valhalla, Dawn of Ragnarok is certainly worth it.

The King of Fighters XV is a great fighting game and SNK did a good job on bringing it up to par with the likes of the competition. However the game has a fantastic roster, great gameplay and is looking fantastic, there are still a few things missing. You can't really unlock things, there aren't as many modes as you would wish and the story just isn't that long. If those things were better, then the game which already kicks ass, would bring even the greatest of competitors on its knees.

The campaign has been replaced by menus in the cafe, but still requires (too) many activities before the entire game is unlocked and everything is available. However, what IS available is of the highest standards.

If you like kartracers or Final Fantasy Chocobo GP is the game you want to try. This cute iteration brings a few good aspects from other kart racers, adds a story and famous Final Fantasy characters to it and takes all that to different locations throughout the franchise. The game feels like a complete kart racer, but it lacks variation in levels. If there were more levels and options to choose other karts, the game would feel even more complete. Still this is a fine race game to play with the kids.

Add to that an enormous and diverse open world, the ability to travel and fight on horseback and the fact that Elden Ring is still challenging, while being more welcoming to new players. A decent new entry to the revamped GRID series, which keeps the middle between pure arcade and sim racing. Races are no-nonsense across diverse tracks. While not without technical issues, the races itself are generally enjoyable and graphically above adequate. Progress is regularly gated, which could have easily been dropped, as there is more than enough content available. An even larger range of tracks would have been great.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus may often look bad, but its gameplay is excellent. The mechanics of finding and catching Pokémon feel good and bring a sense of discovery to the game. Rainbow Six Extraction more or less feels like a big expansion, rather than a full game. There simply isn't enough variety in the gameplay, while the scale feels way too small as well. The inclusion of cooperative play softens the blow a little, and the shooting is a lot of fun. With that being said, there is just barely enough here to justify the price tag.

Whilst Call of Duty Vanguard does not innovate much to push the boundaries of the franchise further, The WWII shooter does deliver a compelling experience. The short, but action-packed single-player offers a nice introduction, although it could be a bit more coherent. The zombies' mode offers some new elements, while still feeling trusted. But by far the biggest reason to like Vanguard is multiplayer. With a nice selection of maps, plenty of modes, and some tweaks to the known formula, it truly delivers.
