We can change the name, but the "FIFA" heart is still there, and in full force. Ultimate team got most of the love (obviously), but although it doesn't feel like a new game, it is still the best football game you can buy right now.

Call of Duty is bouncing back after a terrible last entry to give us a very good FPS. The campaign lacks the punch that gave the original game it's legendary status, but the multiplayer modes are fun, engaging and miles better than Vanguard's.

A game that starts slow but picks up the pace as it goes along. The Escapists 2 is a fun and challenging puzzle game, that as long as you can get by it's rough start. The levels are bigger and create a bigger challenge for the players and the new multiplayer aspect of the game is good, but the monotony of the everyday tasks and the big learning curve of the game can throw off some players.

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is a mixed experience. The plot is weak but the solid gameplay and challenge tombs will make you want to come back and finish the last entry in the trilogy.

This is the best Dragon Ball experience ever been put to a handheld (at least if Dragon Ball FighterZ isn't coming to switch). The game has its problems like the cut in framerate and the lack of anti-aliasing, but the new additions to the game, and the great motion controls help this version of the game stand out.

Atelier Resleriana is a nice commemoration for the 25th anniversary of the series, it is however a bit of a step back from what Yumia had to offer, it is not bad, but it puts the future of the series in question.

It's a short RPG, but for what it's worth it's a very fun one, with great combat mechanics, excellent take on the Souls genre and very good performance on PS4 Pro. Too bad the story is kind of flat.

A lot of the fun, enjoyment and replayability of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit depends of the buyer, which can be a both a good thing and a bad idea. Still, even with the lack of true and viable multiplayer (unless you have the cash), it's a solid Mario Kart game.

In the end, Watch Dogs 2 feels like an improvement over the previous game in the series. The characters are fun to play as and interact with, all of the hacking elements have a lot more depth and make more sense, and the world feels more alive and rich than ever before, design wise and graphics wise. However the game does suffer from mediocrity in regards to its shooting mechanics and stealth sections. Is it a fun game? Yeah, sure it is. Is it one of my games of the year? Not really.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure has a fine thrilling story that made me sit at the edge of my sit at times, however, with some meaningless choices at times and a poorly optimized PC version, I highly recommend it for the story, but I hope Deck Nine fix the game quickly.

Styx: Blades of Greed is mostly a disappointing experience. While it does provide some excellent stealth gameplay elements, a weak story and terrible optimisation ruin every other aspect that might have redeemed it.

Love Star Wars? If your answer is an unequivocal "yes", there is definitely a place for a game like Star Wars Outlaws on your list of games - even if the execution is lacking.

The Long Dark is a beautiful game that brings an almost perfect mix of gameplay, sound and design. The survival aspect of the game is one, if not the most advance there is today in any game. The first two episode of the first season does not attract the player so much, but they show the potential in the future episodes. In The Long Dark you get an unique player experience that give you many moments of frustration and satisfaction, and epic personal survival stories. The Long Dark gives you the survival experience that you won't get anywhere else.

The Crew Motorfest is an excellent racing game, only hampered by its own big and empty open world. Unlike its rivals, the lack of missions and stuff to do in the open world really hold it back.

The Medium is an ambitious game, for a studio like Bloober Team, this would probably have been too big of a challenge to take on a few years ago. The studio took a different approach to their horror games and focused on the narrative and interesting mechanics to make for an amazing game.

Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood expantion offers more of the same, but that's not a bad thing. Elder Scrolls Onlinehas a pretty decent formula and Blackwood is a decent extent of the core game. Companions are the best supplement for the game, that reminds me of Bioware's golden era. The random portals that force exploration and drive you sideways are solid. I wish the quest line would be less predictable and the fights would be harder to beat. But all in all this is a great DLC to own.

The epilogue is quite good, with an amazing performance by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung, but with only 3 new characters and no other substantial bonuses, it's hard to recommend with expansion to MK11 owners. New players get the deal of their life though.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a first person horror game, nothing too revolutionary in this day and age, but this game has a ton of personality, something that is very hard to say about other horror games today. I would love more attention to the soundtrack, but it's amazing visuals and fun gameplay are amazing enough.

It's the stealth experience that you expect from a Sniper Elite game. While not revolutionary in any way, and even does some things pretty badly, Sniper Elite: Resistance still manages to provide a decent experience that won't stick with you for long.

Concrete Genie is visually stunning. the artwork is off the charts and was clearly meant to be the core interest of the game. As the player, you get to express your creativity in so many ways, and the game encourages you to do so. The gameplay itself can feel repetitive at times, and the backstory isn't as profound as i would except from such kind of a game. But even given those downsides, Concrete Genie is still a wonderful creation you should definitely check out.

Being hip is cool again. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk trades its graphical fidelity and pixel counts for excellent gameplay loop and incredible music - all wrapped up in a neat and true Jet Set Radio spiritual successor.

The port of Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection for the Nintendo Switch is good, and works quite well, but the games do show their age - Which is a shame, because Ubisoft should've enhanced them a bit. Not graphically mind you, but mechanically.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is an adventure that is recommended for those who are already captive audiences of the genre. There is nothing new here, and there shouldn't be any. It seems that the studio knows who its audience is and what they like, and chooses to invest the time in a good story, an excellent soundtrack and graphics that will simply carry them along properly and not continue.

As a game in the series, No More Heroes 3 is the best one yet, with a tight story, great gameplay and excellent OST and voice acting. But with very bad graphics and dated open world gameplay, it falls way below the send off Travis Touchdown deserves.

Carrion has its problems, especially in its level design and lack of a map for the player, but it succeeds in what it sets out to accomplish: creating a horror game, proper horror game, in which you are the monster.

I had very high expectations for Ara: History Untold but they failed to materialize. The game has many very good qualities compared to other games with lots of years of experience in the genre, but at the end of the day it fails in one of the most important elements of 4X games and that is to give the player that 'one more turn' feeling that keeps you playing until the middle of the night. This is mainly due to unflexible and exhausting game systems and a very planned way of playing compared to the complete freedom and feeling of constant progress that you get from other games.

There's a lot to love in this expandalone, with many hours of fun shootouts, crime solving and cheesy one-liners

As a long time fan, this is a great option for people who like Pokemon and own a switch console.

I know that this game has some downsides, especially in its subpar beginning stages, but the latter ones are so polished, so fun to play, and work so well with the incredible platforming skills and controls of the game, that I just must go with my heart here and give it one of the highest praises I can give a game: It's just so much fun.

A faithful recreation of an SNES classic, Trials of Mana delivers on most fronts, though it botches it's landing in the 21th century in some places.

A game worthy of being called a spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and one of the great examples of a very good Kickstarter video game.

Toodee and Topdee take elements previously found in games like Super Paper Mario and Fez and simply runs with it. The bosses and some levels can get annoying, but overall this is a very solid, funny, wholesome and most importantly - fun puzzle game.

Back 4 Blood is a fun co-op shooter and the perfect answer to a boring afternoon especially, if you have a friend to back you up. If you want to play solo, you're gonna have to look somewhere else.

Princess Peach: Showtime! is short, fun and full of charm. Is it one of the best games on the Switch? Not in the slightest, but it's a nice game for children, getting into gaming for the first time.

Hollowbody aims to pay tribute to early 2000s horror games but falls short of its goal. While it occasionally shines with well-crafted puzzles, it struggles to capture the essence of its inspirations. The outdated aesthetics and lackluster combat detract from the horror experience, and the disjointed story feels pieced together from various ideas. Despite these issues, Hollowbody has its moments, particularly in its engaging puzzles, which hint at its potential. However, the game's overall inconsistency may only appeal to die-hard fans of classic horror, leaving others wanting more. As it stands, "Hollowbody" feels like a project in need of a thorough remaster to realize its full potential and truly honor the genre it seeks to celebrate.

This game, or interactive movie if you prefer, is a great experience for horror fans. The story, gameplay (minimalistic as it is) and the acting are some of the best I've seen in this genre yet. While there are some things that do break the immersion, it's still an experience for lovers of visual novels and horror fans alike.

Kamiko sets up to be a nice little Legend of Zelda clone with great gameplay. Does it capture the same magic Zelda did, though? Not really. The game lacks the same charm and sophistication these games had, and falls short in the length department. But still, it's a good game with fun gameplay that you can play on the go and with a price tag that low I can recommend it to fans of the genre.

The game shows great potential, but in its current state, the game feels a little half-baked. It needs more types of enemies, some better story missions and a much better net-code, in order for me to enjoy the game at its fullest.

It's a game that panders greatly towards nostalgia, but to be perfectly honest - it kinda works. The game manages to be fun, simple and engaging, even though it has some faults that prevent it from being a great game.

One Piece Odyssey is a refreshing change on a formula we learned to know up to this day from Shonen based anime games. It could have been better, but even with its flaws it a more than solid JRPG.

Wrath of the Druids delivers a good reason to get back to Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It's story is much more focused than what we got in the base game, its activities offer plenty of satisfying loot and the new types of enemies are a breath of fresh air (or hallucinogenic fog). This is an expansion that does everything better, and while we're, once again, doing whatever some king wants us to do, i had fun with it.ֲ

Call of Duty: Vanguard is a very problematic game, that game at a very wrong time for Activision. Bad maps and uninspiring multiplayer and zombies modes are accompanied with a good story to create the game that needs to challenge both Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042 for the throne. As a long time series fan - I wish them the best of luck - they're fighting an uphill battle here.

The newest RE:V expansions gives us a lot of new ways to play the game, either in the new and fun Shadows of Rose story expansion or the new and improved Mercenaries mode. Fans looking for more classic RE:V might find themselves a bit let down, but the new changes and additions work great for me.

Kirby Star Allies is a fun little game with a lot of interesting characters, amazing new powers, great gameplay and an old-new mechanic that keeps players guessing and makes it a fun party game. Those of you who want a challenge might want to look elsewhere but those of you who are looking for fun should definitely check this game out.

I believe going with the route established by the Let's Go games would have been better, but that doesn't mean that Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl aren't excellent entries in the Pokemon franchise, and games that Pokemon fans would enjoy playing - old and new alike.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a much better game than its predecessor. The game tackles most of the problems I had with the first game by bringing me a much vaster world than before. Even though the first few hours are quite boring, the game has a lot to offer series fans.

A very good Basketball Sim marred by microtransactions and too much similarities to the previous game.

Silent Hope, while being a good game, seems to be fighting with its own main gimmick of seven different heroes by making some contradicting design choices.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is the game that will reunite you with all of your favorite heroes, Each one with its own set of skills and abilities, each one with a part in the main storyline. Some technical bugs may occur, but it won't take away from this MARVELous experience.

With 2K, I hoped that Playgrounds 2 will be the street-ball game that we all waited for. Except for bringing some new players into the game and implementing a customization system with their hated VC points, nothing of my wishes came true.

This is a wonderful example of a Superhero video game done right, with all the proper colorfulness and hectic combat one would expect in a game like this.

It's the same game from last year - for better or for worse. The fact that Konami is really upfront about it is great, but they do get only one shot next year to wow us with PES 2022. In the meantime, this is what we got - and it's good.

The equation is fairly simple: If you're a first time player, the Switch version will be just fine: It looks nice, it plays nice, and still packs a ton of fun. For seasoned players on other consoles and especially PC - that's a very hard sell with the drop in performance.

The story can be a bit confusing, as is the structure of how it's played out, but this doesn't detract from the fact that this is probably the most fun I've had with a Ubisoft game and a Far Cry game in particular.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a good game with fantastic battle system, great fan service and amazing scenes replicating the show. It's the shallow role playing elements and the lackluster side missions that prevent it from achieving greatness.

Though the simple gameplay needs some polish, the fast-paced battles and the combination of graphics and music can hold as a very successful party game.

The core gameplay is fantastic, but the lack of substantial content and a reason to stay and keep playing the game via challenges, secrets and more game modes keep it from reaching it's status as the best Mario Strikers game.

Mafia: TOC is a great game that gets dragged down by bad performance and lack of details in its impressive world.

It has some major issues gameplay-wise, but other than that, that's actually one of the most interesting games to come out this year, and a no-brainer if you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription. It's gripping story, excellent writing and wonderful voice acting combined with it's short length will make for a nice 6-8 hours game.

Is Atomfall a game worth trying? If you like games that don't hold your hand - absolutely, but if you have a hard time with shaky combat systems and lacking character development it's important to remember that Atomfall unfortunately fails to rise to the occasion here.

The Order of Giants favors a more linear, focused experience that provides the best of what the game has to offer. This is the most fun i had solving puzzles in a game this year, along with some of the best cinematic moments i witnessed ever.

Layers of Fear 2 is a strong improvement over the first game, what used to be a copy cat of a cult demo, has found it’s own identity. The port to the Switch is, aside for just a few hiccups here and there, is a perfect port to the portable console and finally brings all Bloober Team's games to the console for everyone to enjoy.

For a AA game, Matterfall is not that bad. It features great combat which requires both physical and mental agility. Other than that, it lacks loads of content. If you can overcome the hard-to-control mechanics and the long loading times, there is no doubt that you are going to enjoy that game, but only on the short term. If you are top-score hunters, Matterfall is the game for you. If not, you should probably look for another game where you destroy aliens.

Assassin's Creed III Remastered version is just a nice try. It's a nice try to bring glory to a mediocre game, which hasn't been good enough upon its release and surely isn't good enough now. The UI changes definitely improve the gameplay, and the graphics are truly amazing - but still aren't close to other games from this era. If you haven't played it before, you might want to check it off your list since it does have a unique story. If you have, I recommend not wasting your time unless you're feeling really, really nostalgic and have nothing better to do.

This is a great first attempt by Kumi Souls Games, and as long as they continue working on the unpolished parts of the game, and keep the aesthetic approach and good VA, they'll do just fine.

It's funny to me how a game can be so much fun that my biggest gripe with it is that there isn't enough of it. But that's exactly the case with Nintendo Switch Sports: It's a very fun, very bright game, with too little content.

While the game isn't reaching the same heights as the Sarentu Na'vi we're playing, it's still, somehow, one of the best experiences I've had in 2023. This is, without a doubt, the best showcase for the Snowdrop Engine.

Even if the differences between FIFA 20 and FIFA 21 aren't that substantial, FIFA 21 is exactly what it needs to be: That fun football game that you fire up after a long day at work, crack open a beer and play with your buddies at home. And it does that triumphantly.

Steep is the best snowboarding / skiing / extreme game you will find out there. Ubisoft managed to re-invent this gaming genre just like EA Black-Box did with the Skate franchise. Ubisoft understood that there is much more in these games than crazy combos and impossible tricks, and there is an audience who is looking for a more realistic experience.

Megaton Rainfall tries to pass a god-like experience which fails even on VR. It got the right base with community eager to super-hero games that will break boundaries. Despite all that, The game isn't fun enough, it just left me with a huge VR-sickness and tied-up cables.

Vampyr has a fine, interesting story about 1918 London. It contains everything we would like to hear from a Sherlock-Holmes story: An intelligent protagonist, a mysterious antagonist and a gothic London. Despite that, the gameplay isn't as polished as I would like and the technical problems are too common.

It pains me to give that score to games I think are groundbreaking in terms of their respective franchises, but mediocre graphics and problematic performance issues hurt what is - on the gameplay side of things - Game Freak's best work to date. A work that even rivals Legends Arceus.

Where Winds Meet is an ambitious and impressive project with the potential to become a standout title in the coming years. It combines a stunning world, deep combat, nearly endless customization, and refreshing innovations in NPC interaction. While the game demands a significant investment of time and patience, it rewards players with a uniquely immersive experience and a rare opportunity to walk the path of legendary sword heroes from ancient China. In an industry of RPGs that often feel generic and try to please everyone, this game is a bold statement that a true role-playing experience is rooted in the freedom to shape your world as you see fit, treating its MMO aspects as a feature, not a genre.

The game lacks a bit of depth in almost everything it tries to do, but it's still a ton of fun and a good game to try if you fancy the "Boomer Shooter" games genre. Lo Wang and Shadow Warrior's third installment could've been a bit more polished, but it's still a fun experience.

No doubt about it, Far Cry: New Dawn can give you tons of fun for hours, but if you've played a Far Cry game before, you know what you're getting into, for better or for worse.

Days Gone feels like a medium quality candy in a very high quality wrap. It’s extremely beautiful and starts off brilliantly, but lacks the ability to maintain the tension and interest over time. With some good combat and lots of content, but a boring story and repetitive gameplay, Days Gone never unlocks its full potential.

Sand Land is for better and worse, will be Akira Toriyama's last addition to his legacy, the changes to the story with new character is very welcome, but the desert is big and will get repetitive fairly quickly, and unfortunately this will be another addition to the growing anime games that I might forget later.

OVIVO is a great example for a genius mix between gameplay, soundtrack and design. It is a must have game for anyone that wants to experience story in unique ways to enjoy great music and gameplay. OVIVO is a short game, too short, that feels like a taste from something perfect, and you want more from it.

Ladies and gentlemen, you're looking at one of the sleeper hits of 2021. The game is short and the story can be confusing (also, don't get me started on the voice acting), but gameplay-wise this is a very fun and rewarding action game. Also, it looks incredible on the Nintendo Switch so that's a plus.

Super Meat Boy 3D is an excellent game - it does a lot of things right when it comes to its platforming experience, and while there are times when it can feel stifled and a little less comfortable due to the transition to 3D, the vast majority of the time we have a quality platformer here.

It's not as good as the big hitters of the Switch, but even this mediocre game has a lot to offer in terms of fun and great moments. Wait for a sale and then buy the game and go have fun with your best friends and family members.

While the game boasts some improvements over last year's iteration of the game, it still feels like same game overall. If FIFA 20 on Switch won't shake up things drastically, this would be the last FIFA game you'll need on the Switch.

This is a good remake, adding some good things to the formula established by the original SNES game. But there too many moments of tutorials and boring dialogue that bog down the pace of the game.

Atlas Fallen might not be the best open world game of all time, but it's a fun experience and does a lot right, both mechanically and artistically-wise.

This... isn't a good game - but it is still a fun one. Yeah sure, the controls are slippery at best, the open worlds are quite barren and the soundtrack is far below the standard for a Sonic game, but the absurd story, pretty visuals and the fact that it's just fun running around makes for a jolly good time.

Lego Horizon Adventures is pure fun, heartwarming and light, but still gives room to some challenge for those who seek it. The voice acting is absolutely amazing and feels different from the origin, even with the original voice actors. The story is spiced with tons of humour, which made me actually LOL a few times. But its still a bit repetitive, and suits better for short-sessions after a long day. The Co-Op mode was a bit of a bummer since whoever pays Aloy will always be the "leader" and make other players teleport to their place instead of having an immersive gameplay for both players, even while being mid-fight.

Graphically, it's still a poor experience, with a very weird design and bad technical aspects. But the overall experience was nice - the upgraded difficulty was a welcome change, and I had a ton of fun watching my favorite Pokémon come back.

Scorn was one of my most expected horror games, after a long while, what we got is a fairly boring game with bland mechanics and mostly just environments. I wish this would be an experiment for Ebb Software, but there is just so much wasted potential here which left me with just disappointment.

This whole game suffers from the stains of time: The quest system feels old, it's world building can get quite flustered and messy and the graphics - while improved - still feel like an early 2010's game. They're lucky the gameplay is just too much fun.

With Watch Dogs: Legion, the series finally found it's niche: The gameplay clicks, the "Legion" concept works brilliantly with the main theme of Watch Dogs, and while it has it's issues (mainly in some repetitive missions and a slow start to the story), this is the best Watch Dogs game to date.

Atomic Heart is full of stuff that will absolutely make you love it immediately, but each one of those things comes with a major flaw that ultimately pulls it back from being a great game. It's far from perfect, but will still give you hours of awesome story, world, gameplay and music.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is a good game with lots of great things going for him, but it can fell too shallow at times, both in the Adventure mode and the the single and multiplayer modes.

Almost everything I would like to get from a remake is indeed present here, and even more: much better graphics, a very important fixes of the camera movement, a new soundtrack, a facelift for all the menus and even new scenes. The problem is, if you've already played the original game, the remake isn't worth your money, unless your memory is completely wiped and then the lack of replayability value isn't that critical. But if you haven't played the original - it's an excellent, exciting and scary game for fans of the horror genre and choice-based games. I want to believe that the developers are working on fixing things like the crashes and bugs of all kinds, because you can clearly see that a lot of love was put into this remake and there is no reason why they won't continue to improve it.

Rainbow Six Extraction is the black sheep of this game series, as he is the most different one of them all. The game delivers some amazing fun times, but the lack of variety in it holds this game back. I hope that just like it's older brother, Siege, it will grow to thrive and maybe one day it'll be more than what just feels like a DLC to Siege.

We Were Here Too delivers a really successful escape-room experience. It contains some challenging riddles and wonderful environment. But it very short (1.5~ hours) and the lack of replicability is recognized. But hey, it's still cheaper and long-lasting than a real escape room.
