The battle system leaves a lot to be desired, but that's really the only bad thing I can say about this game. We waited for a really great Paper Mario game for more than a decade, and here it is.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War can be defined as “The game Shadow of Mordor should have been.” The game is good and fun on the one hand, its new and improved Nemesis and Gear systems are wonderful and make its epic combats even better, especially the siege battles. On the other hand, the game suffers from a bad narrative and wrong division to acts, despite its great plot, and the many side missions begin to feel repetitive at some point.

Judgment is too afraid to let go of its defining "Yakuza" features, pushing detective gameplay to the side to let the combat mechanics shine. Its story is gripping and very enjoyable, running alongside the extra side content which is full of heart and entertainment. Give Judgment a shot, whether you're a die-hard Yakuza fan, or a newbie to the franchise.

It's great to see Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game back in action on our consoles, and the game has aged great. It's still one of the best beat-em-up games you can find on consoles today.

Same good game, but with a few extra features and modes that make it better than the Wii Original while giving platforming veterans a challenge the main game won't.

This is the best way to play the original Gears of War, hands down, yet simple upgrades to the AI and sound design could have gone a long way to make this a great remaster.

Prey is a fine experience that while engaging and fun, has its fair share of downsides and faults. The story could be more complex and deeper than the shallow story that was presented to us and the PS4 load times can be really frustrating at times. But the gameplay is fun, and the story, while shallow, is still engaging.

Yes, yes - New Pokémon Snap is probably the best Pokémon game a fan of the franchise could play on the Nintendo Switch. But to be honest, I think that this game is better suited for all those who think that Pokémon is only a kids monster collecting and battling game. It does such a good job at making you feel how big and wonderful is the Pokémon world, and for that it deserves praise.

While it might be considered as a small and insignificant game for some, those of you who'll choose to invest your time in Discounty will find a satisfying and cozy managment sim that might not provide a big challenge or captivating story, but will surely keep you addicted to its gameplay.

Hob is a good game, even if a bit flawed. The platforming is not as good as the combat and the puzzles, and you can sometimes get lost in the world. But even with those problems the beautiful world and good soundtrack does make up for it’s shortcomings. Hob is a good game that PS4 owners with some time on their hand and an itch for a Zelda-like adventure should pick up.

While not on the same level as Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon's Souls, this launch title is still a banger and a very good platformer, even though it has its numerous shortcomings.

Nobody Saves the World is a masterclass in the gameplay perspective. It has a unique and clever way of making the rather overwhelming gameplay mechanics into something easy to understand and extremely fun. While it has a lackluster story, and a weird beginning and ending, the fascinating world succeed in making you forget those things, and keep playing with your knife throwing turtle or your fire breathing horse.

Elden Ring: Nightreign is a fascinating, albeit uneven, experiment. While its fast-paced, pure gameplay moments are some of FromSoftware's best, these highs are often undercut by puzzling decisions, including an overly random progression system and the baffling omission of multiplayer. Despite offering an addictive and challenging twist on the familiar formula, impressively translating the atmosphere and world of Elden Ring into a new format, the unpolished roguelike elements and lack of a multiplayer support prevent it from reaching the heights of its predecessor. Ultimately, it's a must-play for dedicated fans seeking a new and distinct challenge, yet it might not be the ideal entry point for newcomers to the Lands Between.

I never thought I would actually recommend a first person shooter that runs in 720p and below that and in 30FPS, but here I am actually liking the game. Doom is still Doom with the fast paced action we all know and love and the great music and OST. It's true that there are some framerate and audio issues with the game but still, kudos to Panic Button for creating this amazing port.

Chaotic, fast, and furious are three words that perfectly describe Kirby Air Riders. What we have here is a racing game that’s anything but standard—one that breaks many of the conventions we’ve come to know and love about this long-standing genre. Fortunately, for the vast majority of the time, this game’s differences compared to its competitors in the genre manage to spark genuine interest and plenty of enjoyment. Make no mistake—this is still quite a niche title that definitely won’t appeal to everyone, but for those who choose to dive into its madness and chaos, a uniquely engaging and deeply satisfying experience awaits.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain is the most beautiful game available for VR these days. It brings some great new elements but could've leveled up a bit better in other game aspects.

The game looks miles better than its PS4 and Xbox One counterparts, but a fresh coat of paint and better animations can't fix the biggest issue NBA 2K21 and every other 2K game in the past 4 or 5 years have: Microtransactions.

Star Wars Squadrons managed to surpass my expectations, it’s not a perfect game but it gets the job done. I don’t feel entitled to praise EA for not including micro transactions, but I want to believe it means they’ve learned their lesson. They saw an opportunity and took it and I hope they can add more to it.

A perfectly good Mosu game with some of your favorite Zelda characters that provides great action with a nice expansion to the world of TOTK.

Metal: Hellsinger VR is a fairly well ported game of the fun rhythm shooter game from 2 years ago, with some mechanical issues aside, if you haven't experienced the original release and are into VR gaming, I highly recommend you give this one a chance.

Civilization VII is a great game, it looks phenomenal and is packed with content like only this game series can deliver. If you've always wanted to learn this game series but found it too intimidating, this is the game you've been waiting for. The seventh game in the series simplifies and makes things much more accessible and is relatively easy to learn. On the other hand, it also adds new things like the crisis system and small improvements all across the board. But not everything is perfect with serious bug issues, the controversial era system and the noticeable absence of many leaders and personalities.

Don't get it twisted - Wild Hearts is, by all means, a Monster Hunter clone. But dare I say it - it's one of the best ones. Some faults are mitigated by excellent combat and the incredible Karakuri mechanic.

This is the best Call of Duty in years, with great multiplayer and an awesome campaign (even though it doesn’t live up to its fullest potential). The game reminds me of Modern Warfare with an emphasis on a moving and meaningful story coupled with addicting multiplayer action creating a satisfying and wholesome shooting experience.

Detroit: Become Human is a masterpiece of storytelling, perfectly executed and beautiful. The acting is superb, the action is intense and the tears are already dropping.

River City Girls 2 tries to take the Beat-em-up genre to the next level with a plethora of improvements that for the most part pay off greatly. What an incredible game by WayForward.

This is hands down, the best Musou game for the Switch, and a great action title. The music is fantastic, the action is crisp and fast paced, the theme of a great war is preserved throughout the game and the story has an interesting take on the famous war of Breath of the Wild. If it wasn't for the Switch being a weaker platform, hampering it's looks and performance, this may have been a game of the year contender.

While Mind Control Delete is a good expansion with a few clever ideas, it does fall short in some ways, mainly it's rougelike parts.

Dune: Awakening initially felt like generic survival fare but surprised with its authentic recreation of Herbert's universe in an alternate timeline where Paul Atreides never existed. The game excels at polishing familiar survival-crafting mechanics within the rich Dune lore, featuring dynamic world changes, player politics, and meaningful resource scarcity where water truly matters. While hampered by restrictive inventory management and limited progression for non-PvP players, it succeeds as an immersive licensed experience rather than a genre innovator.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond isn't the best Metroid game around, it has a lot of issues, mostly coming from weird design choices that impact badly on the whole expereicne, but where these choices don't exist? It's a treat.

It's the best this series has been in a long while, and it does so by catering not to 2K fans, but basketball fans in general. The Jordan Challenges, MyNBA Era and MyPlayer modes all give a sense of wonder and fun the series lacked in the last three games. And in the next game (That needs to feature Kobe Bryant on the cover), this is the line they need to drive to.

While it has it's shortcomings, Rise of the Third Power is still a wonderful JRPG with great gameplay and music that Switch fans, JRPG fans and quite frankly - History fans, will definitely enjoy.

Days Gone Remastered delivers exactly what a remaster should: For newcomers, it’s the best way to experience Deacon’s rugged journey through a rich, freaker‑infested world, complete with a gripping story and a refreshingly rough-around-the-edges protagonist. For returning players, however, the modest visual tweaks and bonus modes don’t add enough novelty to warrant a full replay unless you’ve been away from the game for years.

Barring some mishaps, Bat Boy is a triumph: Solid gameplay that keeps getting better with each stage. It's a very short game, but it's a sweet experience that I can definitely recommend to everyone that's a fan of 2D platformers (and especially Shovel Knight).

Tales of Xillia is something of a classic, a game that for a long time wasn’t available on modern systems. To truly play it, you either needed access to a fairly old console or had to rely on less official methods. A remaster is an excellent solution for players who don’t want to purchase outdated hardware just to enjoy a single game. This remaster is done quite well, and even though some aspects of the game haven’t aged particularly gracefully, it’s still well worth the time for many players today.

Big Hops is the palete cleanser you need going into 2026 - with immpressive platforming inspired by Mario, a Veggie system that rewards creative thinking and adorable graphics and humor - This is the game you should kick off the year with.

Well, this isn't the prettiest version of this underrated gem, but the port itself is well-made and plays nice (mostly). This is a well made port and worthy of this great game.

Is it a good Sonic collection? Yes, very much - and the addition of the Game Gear games is just the icing on the cake. But still, the tactics that Sega employed with this game collection, plus the fact that it is still missing some fixes bugs me a lot.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a game with huge potential, using stunning advanced technology and stunning visuals. It aims to provide a one-to-one representation of Earth, complete with full virtual reality support. However, its launch has had technical issues like non-functioning servers, long loading times, crashes, and bugs. Despite this, the game's engaging career mode and breathtaking experiences when they work are a sight to behold. The game's performance problems and the need for more optimization, especially in virtual reality, can be a challenge. It's best to have a high-end PC, fast internet, and plenty of patience.

Far Cry 5 is a mixed bag. On the one hand, you get a dark story about an extremist group taking over a town. On the other hand, you get a bear named Cheeseburger who smiles while mauling his enemies. The music is fantastic, the AI is terrible, and the co-op is a lot of fun, as long as you don't expect it to be the next Borderlands. There's a lot of fun to be had in Far Cry 5, but if Ubisoft only took the time to fix those minor problems, it could have been perfect.

Fun, smart but definitely too short - Pepper Grinder is another prime example of how innovative and fun the indie gaming community is. A project that first surfaced in 2017, because one of the most fun games of 2024 - I just wished it had more levels.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm Ep. 1 is an emotional roller-coaster. It features a wonderful plot that develops slowly but brilliantly. Moreover, the episode's ending leaves you craving for more. The dialogues and the characters are exceptional, especially the ones that involve the new Backtalk ability, which make you feel like you are an inseparable part of the conversation. However, the lack of the Rewind system is felt greatly, so you will have to use your use instincts and gut feelings.

RoadCraft has ultimately proven to be one of the standout titles of this year. It offers a unique gameplay experience centered around operating heavy machinery in post-disaster recovery missions, with unmatched freedom and attention to detail. The vast open maps, logistical puzzle elements, and over 40 different vehicles create an engaging sandbox for creative problem-solving.

Pokemon Legends Z-A is one of the most disappointing Pokemon games i have ever played. Besides the wide variety of creatures to catch, some QoL changes and the Mega Evolutions - there's not much else to find enjoyable in this experience.

Great additions to Career mode and Volta, with the overhauled animations introduced by the new HyperMotion technology make it the best FIFA game in years. FUT is still marred by microtransactions making the game somewhat unfair, but the rest of the game has improved for the better.

In the epic battle between the forces of bad Switch ports and great Switch ports, Goku and his friends take the size of the good guys, with this game being a great port of a good game with loads of extra content and good performance on Nintendo's small hybrid console.

Little Kitty, Big City is a simple game with an even simpler goal: to make you smile, and all we have to say is that it just succeeds in doing that. It does not pretend to reinvent the game genre it is based on or to present complex layers that combine innovative gameplay and plot. With tons of personal charm, excellent world design, and truly exceptionally witty writing, this little cat honestly earns its place on the games shelf.

Graceful Explosion Machine is indeed a hidden GEM in the Nintendo e-shop library. It has an addictive and incredibly simple yet complex gameplay, amazing replay value and is extremely cheap at $13. The lack of Co-Op multiplayer does hold it back sometimes and as does the variety of worlds.

Is SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide going to be someone's GOTY? No. Could it be the most fun game someone played this year? There's a high chance. Titans of the Tide knows its job precisely and, with crazy professionalism, builds a 7-hour adventure that feels like one long episode of the series.

Nintendo went ahead and cemented itself as not only the oddball of the gaming industry but as the king of left field. The Labo has some great ideas stored inside of it and the experience itself of building the Toy-Cons was quite enjoyable – albeit a bit shallow in terms of some of the games.

Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood is ultimately a very cute game, even if there are some annoying dialogues along the way and unexciting rewards for exploration. It's not exactly a new standard compared to its predecessors in the series, but it still manages to provide an excellent and fun combat system that makes it a not-so-bad experience.

Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider is a good neo-retro game, but it might be too retro for it's own good. While it is a fun and engaging game, I believe it's high difficulty coupled with the "lives" system, might be off-putting for some people.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is a great experience both for those who have played and want more and for those playing for the first time. It looks, feels, and sounds great but it's hard not to feel like it could have benefitted from a few more months in the oven to fix the loading times and the bosses that hardly challenges the player

Even after all the issues I've listed here, there's no arguing that Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is the best version this game has ever known. If you've never played Luigi's Mansion 2 before and enjoyed the third game in the series even a little bit, or you just want a little more of Luigi's Mansion until the day we might get new title, I think it's worth investing your time and money on the This HD, as long as you are aware that it is a smaller and simpler game.

EA FC 26 is a complete football simulator game that contains every option for every player according to their preference, whether you want to play as a manager, seasons into the night or career mode, everyone will find something to find and get the most out of a complete football game with a beautiful and complete package. So put on your shoes and turn on the PlayStation, it's waiting for you.

ARMS feels like the first true competitive game for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo made the game work with both the Motion Controls scheme and the regular controllers. The gameplay is fast and fun, with comebacks and great moves just around the corner. The single player experience is pretty dull, and can be frustrating at times, but the online scene is absolutely great. The game will get more patches and free DLC along the way so it might get fixed in the future, but even in this current state, I believe that ARMS is a game that's not hard to recommend.

Scarlet Nexus is an amazing Japanese action RPG game, at the start it could give a feeling of an average anime game, but the amazing designs, blend of action and RPG, interesting story are a great blend to one of 2021 games you don't want to miss.

The focus on open-world gameplay was a blessing and a curse for Rider's Republic. It's still a good game, sure - but a little more focus of Ubisoft's side, and it could have become something truly special.

Crimson Desert is one of the most rewarding open-world games I’ve played in years, but it absolutely makes you work for that payoff. Its opening hours are rough, the story never fully comes together, and the UI, inventory management, and control scheme can be frustratingly clunky. Still, once the world opens up, the game becomes something special. Exploration feels meaningful, not like filler, and the best rewards often come from curiosity, detours, and preparation rather than simply following the main quest. Combat is flashy, deep, and incredibly satisfying against groups of enemies, even if some boss fights lean too hard into frustration. This is basically Pearl Abyss making a single-player Black Desert: mechanically rich, often messy, and far more interested in systems, movement, and discovery than in telling a compelling story. If you value exploration over narrative and can push through a bumpy start, Crimson Desert is an easy recommendation.

Resident Evil 3 Remake has a lot of good action moments and it's one hell of a ride, but it kind of lost sight of what made the original game an all-time classic.

Despite having high hopes for Hot Pursuit's new remastered version, I found it to be just another mediocre Need for Speed game, using the name of the veteran series, without actually living up to it.

South of Midnight is an amazing experience - wrapped in a fairly basic and reasonable game. With an equally amazing art line that creates an immersive experience, which gets stuck here and there on the rocks along the way. The game's boring gameplay first and foremost does not respect the rest of its elements, and prevents it from being a smooth ride - even if it does not completely prevent the overall experience from being unforgettable.

Wuchang Fallen Feathers would be a fantastic Souls-like with insanely fun mechanics that are innovative, but it is all buried under performance issues that hurt the experience.

Karma the Dark World is a fantastic horror game that is only held back by a slow ending, with that, it has a fantastic plot which I can only hope to see it continued in another game.

Overcooked is still one of the best couch co-op games, even with the troubling framerate and weird bugs on the Nintendo Switch. The game keeps the excellent and chaotic gameplay of the original versions of the game, but with the addition of new DLC with harder levels. The game needs to iron out its technical problems before I can recommend it, though.

Game Builder Garage is simplistic and limited, but it's a good first lesson for a lot of players that wish to experience what gaming development is like.

The excessive grinding and generic story might put some people off, but if you can push past the initial bumps, you'll find a great JRPG waiting for you.

Invincible VS is a fun tag fighting game for fans of the tag fighting genre and especially for fans of the franchise.

Mario Tennis Fever is massive, chaotic, and highly entertaining.it's packed with characters, unique power rackets, and fantastic multiplayer options, and although the single-player Adventure mode suffers from poor pacing, the stellar tournament mode and flawless performance make it a standout experience.

The new installment in the popular Assassin's Creed series achieves what it sets out to be: an "old-school" experience that veterans of the series will enjoy. I just wish there were more improvements to the basic (yet fun) formula, and that the story was a tad better.

WWE 2K22 is the face turn this series needed. The game looks incredible and the new gameplay mechanics help get new players up to speed and have some arcade fun with others. But still, even with those changes, the game still suffers from mediocracy in some places, mainly MyGM and the roster which is one of the weakest in the series.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is the baby of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Breath of the Wild, and while the latter's inspiration is quite visible here, Immortals charm, be it from its story telling or style, covers up for a lot of the comparisons, making it a unique experience.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a fun puzzling game if you like both Puyo Puyo and Tetris and you get something more. Unfortunately it is not a very impressive game and feels cheap at times, the biggest problem is the lack of cross play on top of a small community.

Despite its very rough start thanks to the small but meaningful updates we've received since its launch, the PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 manages to deliver the goods. This is one of the best and most enjoyable PlayStation games in years, and if you haven't had the chance to try it yet and your spider senses are tickling, now is a great opportunity to do so.

This remake maybe isn't the one we were hoping for, but it is a good and faithful one, sitting tightly in the "this is just how I remembered it was" category, all while adding some new features, game modes and worlds.

For Honor is a great game, held back only by some minor flaws and technical difficulties that Ubisoft can and should tend to. The story mode isn't the best I've played and the matchmaking could use some tweaking, but even with its problems you can't take away the fact that this game has one of the deepest and rewarding fighting mechanics we've seen in a while. For Honor demands you study the ins and outs of the game and excel in it, and those who do will get an experience without an equal in gaming right now.

Even with all the odds going against it, Dead Island 2 stays focused on its main missions, and succeeds in accomplishing them. The game finds balance between the first game's more serious take and the reveal trailer's lighter approach while making the gameplay and world design much better - although they are still far from perfect.

Metal Slug Tactics knows exactly what its mission is and executes it perfectly. The emphasis on being an arcade game from the 80s makes it too short and feels like it doesn't fulfill all the potential it has - but it's a small price to pay for the coin you put into the machine to enter this time tunnel.

L.A Noire has remained a great action-adventure game and a strong detective thriller, filled with great cases, investigations and interrogations. The new graphics look better, though the difference is not very significant. The city of angels is alive and vibrant but barely includes any extra content. If you played L.A Noire sometime in the last few years, you would probably want to grab it for a better playthrough. If you haven't played L.A Noire at all, it would be a crime to miss it out.

FIFA 23 is ultimately (no pun intended), a good FIFA game and the best football game on the market, but that about sums it up. There aren't any big innovations here, and in a yearly franchise, and also possibly the last in its line to bear the name FIFA, I expected more from EA.

Persona 5 Strikers is a great Musou game, and even though for veterans of the series it might feel intimidating but it’s worth it for the plot. The game runs so well on PC but it does beg the question: why isn't Persona 5 on PC yet? It’s time to bring it to other consoles other then the PS4 so more players will get to experience the full story.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a great way to experience one of the best crime games in recent history. Both old and new fans will enjoy the great ensemble of characters. story and soundtrack, though it's bugs can get a little annoying.

While not the best one in the series, Super Mario Party is one of the best Mario Party games of the past few years with great mini-games and extra modes to its name.

AWE is basically more of the same.It has great action sequences and dark atmosphere. Control fans will feel straight at home. However that does not compensate on it's lack of innovation and poor puzzles. It is by no means an Alan Wake sequel but its kind of a start. AWE is a relatively short expansion that would only fit control and Alan Wake die-hard fans.

Yes, this is still the best way to play a simulation of the beloved sport, but with each passing year it seems like there's less and less emphasis on the Basketball itself and most of the time and effort go to improving "The City" and the microtransactions filled "MyTeam". You know - the fluff.

This is a great starting point to the trio of DLCs Far Cry 6 is about to get. While Far Cry 6 focused on improving on an old format, Far Cry 3 managed to give us something refreshing.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is an exploration-first game that rewards very little in terms of actual exploration. With barebones systems and a lot of busy work, i just can't recommend it.

This game actually upsets me in some level, because it's everything we wanted Mighty No. 9 to be, but we didn't get. However, I believe it was worth the wait, as this game is the Megaman game we wanted so bad, with retro visuals, slick 60 FPS performance, and fun gameplay and level design. The game does have a slow start, and some levels do feel tedious at times, but the overall experience is great.

Basically, Ghost Recon: Wildlands is a good game. It offers you a big wide world with many missions and possibilities. It combines the tactical gameplay we all know and love from other Ghost Recon games, with all of these elements spread out on the beautiful map of Bolivia. But its repetitiveness, forgettable story and the trouble finding a decent team make its problems more obvious than ever.

After three years of development, which were converted to 20 hours of playtime, The Evil Within 2 has totally unlocked its predecessor's potential. The wonderful story, the blood-freezing atmosphere, the big variety of horrific monsters and the great progress systems make The Evil Within 2 one of the best survival-horror games of the last few years. Indeed, the game is not bug-free, but those technical issues rarely happen and don't hurt the overall experience. If you like the genre (and particularly the previous title), The Evil Within 2 will be one of your best nightmares yet.

This is simply a great port of a fairly overlooked game. Though more graphical settings would've been nice, and there are several (but minor) bugs and glitches, this PC port does more right than wrong. Even with the PS5 version showing massive improvements in FPS and load times, this is the best version you can find.

Twelve Minutes is a niche game that won't suit everyone unless you are in it for finding every single detail. I couldn't explain to you why this game is really good without spoiling it to you. It could get repetitive and it's soundtrack is forgettable, but the cast of actors will make it all worthwhile.

Eternal Strands makes great promises as a semi-open world game with countless possibilities to win every challenge, centered on the huge and diverse bosses that roam the map. In some moments that are no less than amazing, it fulfills these promises and becomes a simply tremendous experience - but most of its playing hours are focused on being a basic RPG only, which is a shame that it does not use its full potential more.

While it is not loaded with the fine depth of Red Dead Redemption 2 or the amazing variety of missions of The Witcher 3, Team Ninja's first open-world take is still an excellent experience, mainly because of its spectacular combat system.

This is a great addition to the series, with wonderful micro-games, excellent co-op mini games and a lot to unlock in-game. The additional cast of characters can be a mixed bag, but overall this is a fine game.

Cronos: The New Dawn is the last word in Bloober Teams evolution, in The Medium we started to shift more towards narrative based horror games and now we also get some more survival, I enjoyed my time exploring this version of Poland and the 80s era version of Bloober Team, and I can't wait to see what's next for the studio beside the Silent Hill remake.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands does have it's faults, but all in all - it's a good game and you can really see the love and care that were put into it.

If you never played the original, my advice is to try it out before buying the upgraded version, because most likely that the base content here will be more than enough.
