Whether or not this overall Crysis Remastered Trilogy will usher in a new lease of life for the dormant franchise remains to be seen. But at least we are safe in the knowledge that it gave itself the best future possible with this third entry in the series being the finest yet.

The Guise should do enough to impress you. The visual look, the challenge, the combat, and how Ogden constantly evolves is enough to make this one a recommendation.

Should you be in the market for a fun puzzler that never takes itself seriously, PHOGS! on Xbox is the game for you. It works well as a solo experience, but goes up a level when split across two players, whether they be sofa or online-based. A few issues crop up from time to time but for the majority of the playthrough Red and Blue are two of the most well-behaved doggos you could ever wish to meet. You’ll most certainly want to give these two dogs a bone.

Hell Pie is a more than competent game that is worth playing despite the obscenity, rather than because of it.

The SEGA Mega Drive Classics Collection is an excellent compendium of games where the vast majority still play incredibly well. Old hands and newcomers alike will find plenty of games to keep them busy here.

Re:Touring is like sitting down with a good puzzle book, with no worries about time constraints, nor rushed to come up with the right answers. It can become challenging, but feels very reasonable in terms of the price; that in itself means Re:Touring may just be worth taking a punt, especially if you like games such as Portal and The Turing Test.

Broken Lines is a pretty interesting proposition. It isn’t the best looking game ever, but the way it plays is challenging and rewarding; getting out of a level with no one dead will feel like an achievement. If you like a tactical game, I recommend you give it a try. Just watch out for that permadeath!

All in all and Distrust is a very interesting proposition. The setting is great, very bleak and creepy, and the oppressive feeling as madness starts to close in is an effective one. With fresh levels each time and the overall challenge of the game, the longevity certainly appears to be secure.

I dream of you and ice cream is undoubtedly flawed. Its puzzles are never seamless, and they can feel like distractions from the good stuff. But when it’s good it’s great, as it carries a unique alien threat, a sense of dread that’s so thick you could pour it on your ice cream, and a concise story that lingers. Forget dreaming of you: we’re going to be having nightmares about this one, long after the review is finished.

There’s a chance that you may find After Us a bit too depressing, and it has to be said that the combat is highly repetitive. But the scale of the level design, visuals, and soundscore found here are outstanding.

Miles & Kilo is an extremely enjoyable, if tough, experience and is well worth the relatively cheap price tag. The controls are simple and the gameplay is varied but extremely fast. There is never a dull moment during your adventure.

If you’re after a baseball experience that comes with real-world visuals, the licensed players and teams that you love and all the bells and whistles of an in-depth sim, then you might be disappointed here. But if you’re just looking for a game that gives you thrills, spills, and a lot of fun, then Super Mega Baseball 3 might just be for you.

If you are looking for some brilliant F1 seat-of-your-pants racing, then by all means jump behind the wheel of F1 24. Don't expect too much excitement away from the racing, as the omission of a story mode is a real whack. And certainly don't pin all your hopes on the smallest of new features and this year's buzzwords. Join for the racing, and enjoy what is provided from there on out.

While Achilles: Survivor has weak points (it’s that ankle again), namely in enemy and level variety, it’s also a survivor-clone with a single, glorious idea at its centre: what if you could build towers to help you out as you gallivant about? That idea alone makes Achilles: Survivor worth a stab.

The Creepy Tales series seems to just get better and better, and that’s the case for Some Other Place. A main criticism is that the puzzles are a bit obtuse and the minigames do outstay their welcome. But the atmosphere and story are great, as is the opportunity to explore an unusual, creepy place.

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is a thoughtful and ambitious take on the franchise. Its strengths lie in its narrative, its management systems and its willingness to let players shape their own story. However, uneven combat, technical issues and a reliance on RNG prevent it from fully realising its potential.

BLEACH Rebirth of Souls is a great entry into the BLEACH universe. The story is well done and while the online side of things is a bit of a mess (not all the game’s fault, as online players will always adopt anything that lets them win) you’ll find plenty of fun within.

If you can forgive RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition its rough edges, a deep, engrossing game with plenty of content awaits you.

Silly long name aside, Puzzle Bobble 2X/BUST-A-MOVE 2 Arcade Edition & Puzzle Bobble 3/BUST-A-MOVE 3 S-Tribute is a very good port of a franchise from decades gone by.

All in all though, for as weird and strange No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES is, this is a decently fun game, complete with a lot of content to go at. It does get frustrating at times, as I’m not entirely sure what those behind the creation of some of the puzzles were on, but largely it is enjoyable enough.

As it works out at just a couple of quid for each table, I’d definitely consider adding Williams Pinball: Volume 3 to your collection ahead of the previous volumes because this one caters equally for both the hardcore and casual player.

It’s not a perfect game but it is fun and provides a decent challenge. The waifu maid thing may be off-putting for some, but you don’t need to watch or even like anime to enjoy the gameplay. So if you have a free weekend and need a new game to check out, Touhou Luna Nights on Xbox One might be the answer you are looking for. It also doesn’t hurt that it has an incredibly catchy soundtrack.

The Pathless is a pretty great experience that will have you engrossed across its six hours or so running time. It provides a lovely world to explore, some great fresh mechanics to master and some nice puzzle elements to complement the gameplay. It does feel a bit overwhelming at times and the boss battles can feel a bit of a trudge, but in all this is a lovely little indie game.

With gorgeous sprite-based visuals, modernised 90s based mechanics, and a foundation of combat able to provide hours of entertainment, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion more than earns itself a place in the fighting genre.

So, how best is it to describe Kid Tripp on Xbox? Short, but sweet. It might only be an hour long, but it’s entirely worth it. The gameplay and level design are both stellar, and the game is challenging without being unfair or overly-punishing. For less than a fiver, what more could you want?

It may take a couple of levels, but you’ll get hooked by Tin Hearts. The world, gameplay ideas, and touching story are all good enough to reel you in. I do think the level design found in the latter parts of the game does feel a bit extended, but others will welcome the challenge and relish in the complexities.

It is as you were for GTA Online. If you haven’t picked up the behemoth that is Grand Theft Auto V by now - or indeed have no interest - then there will not be anything new here to convince you.

Dawn of the Monsters is an altogether great offering for fans of the beat ‘em up genre, as the combat, the upgrades and the graphics all come together in one beautiful package.

Devil Jam is a worthy entry into the survivor genre. It isn’t god tier (and frankly, only one game is), but it is a very playable effort, with a real hook that will drag you back for just one more run.

The mechanics in Torn Away are so varied that a couple could have been lost along the way without affecting things; like the first person sections. But it’s the story's emotional beats which shine, absolutely spot on whilst the main characters are wonderful and tragic.

My Time in Portia is a hugely in-depth and immersive life sim. Like all of the most delicious of treats, it is both satisfying and addictive; with so much to do and new things to uncover it is certainly an experience that will keep you coming back for more, long after other games have gone sour.

Return to Grace is like reading a great book in one sitting, or watching a comforting film on a Sunday afternoon. It’s not going to wow, nor show much that is new or fresh, but what it is capable of telling is an absorbing story in three hours with some excellent writing and voice-over.

Glitch’s Trip on Xbox is a brilliant platformer that looks the part and plays great. It’s a game that constantly throws unique challenges at you to truly test your mettle, and any fan of hardcore platformers will relish the challenge it offers. It’s fair to say that Glitch’s is certainly a trip worth taking.

Mundaun is exactly the type of indie game that needs to be talked about in years to come with features being written about it and how it became one of the seminal indie titles.

The scope and fun of the game shines through, and if you give it a chance, Andromeda will reward you with an enormous amount of satisfaction.

Should you be after an old school platformer, one that has some friction in its gameplay mechanics, then Shadow of the Orient is a steal.

TopSpin 2K25 is a welcome return for the franchise and a solid reboot. The gameplay is strong, fast and fluid and exactly what you would expect from a tennis game. It is easy to pick-up and play but just about deep enough for those wanting to experiment. It is let down by some slightly off character models and is currently just a bit too light in terms of content, needing perhaps a few mini-games or even a doubles career mode to help flesh it out.

Lemnis Gate is a very pleasant surprise. A unique, strategic mind-bending FPS, it is mechanically strong and content-rich. There are still some technical issues that need to be resolved and the progression system is very stingy, but what is here is a hidden gem.

It’s got an unhelpful streak, and the graphical scrappiness stops it short from being the next Hollow Knight or Ori. But you know what? That’s a ridiculously high bar to set, and Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan confidently walks underneath it with its head held high. As a retro-leaning, budget Metroidvania, you can’t do much better than this.

If you’ve ever enjoyed an otome visual novel, we couldn’t recommend A YEAR OF SPRINGS more. On the surface, this is a gentle, heartwarming tale of three friends moving in different directions. Below that surface, it has a mission: to expose what it is to be a transgender person in the conform-culture of modern day Japan.

KAKU - Ancient Seal comes with some big ARPG ambitions. Yes, there are times in which rough moments pop up, and for me, the platforming elements are too floaty. But nevertheless, this is a great game with a wonderful world to explore, pulled along by some decent combat and Zelda-like puzzles.

If you were born to lead at breakneck speed, you should give Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 5 a try.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Heart of the Forest revels in storytelling and character-building, presenting you with choices to make, adding consequences to those choices, and then growing your character based on those consequences. It could have done with a bit more bite and certainly more Garou-bloodletting, but the tale it tells will leave you over the (full) moon.

Far Cry 6 is a slow burner, but once it gets going it really sinks those hooks. Fans of the series will have a blast, whether alone or through the cooperative options. Granted, the menus can sometimes over complicate things, and the cutscene stutters are annoying, but the main point to take away is that if you love open world games, especially those which provide fun, excitement and the freedom of choice, then come to Yara. It's not a huge revolution, but it's a fun one.

There’s no doubt - Painkiller is a shot in the arm for the FPS genre, with DOOM rivalling speed and masses of enemies to shoot. Chuck in multiple characters to master, each of which plays differently, and a wide selection of weapons to get used to, there is a lot of content here. The online world is well populated too, with no difficulty finding others to play with. And it is here in which Painkiller really shines.

If I had to play a racing game that wasn’t Forza, it would be RENNSPORT. That’s about all the praise you need to hear.

Worbital on Xbox One does enough to differentiate itself from the rest of the gaming field. I’ve certainly not played a game like this on Xbox One, and as such it’s an easy recommendation.

What was once perhaps an unnecessary genre on consoles has been dragged back to the ’80s with the excellent Top Run on Xbox One. There is enough of a levelling and upgrade system to make you feel like you’re making progress, and the pixel art and soundtrack are both gorgeous in their own right.

Should you possess a logical mind and have plenty of patience, Polimines Deluxe is a very good puzzler; one that is more than capable of giving your brain cells a good workout.

The visual tone, soundtrack, and narration of Candle: The Power of Flame, as well as the inclusion of great puzzle elements see it coming across as something with brilliant invention. The downsides are that some of the game mechanics feel a bit off, and a tad annoying, but it isn’t enough to dampen the spirits or ruin the enjoyment of this stunning candle adventure.

Just Dance 2026 Edition offers more of the same party fun that we have come to expect of the franchise.

Overcooked! All You Can Eat on Xbox is one offering that will satisfy your appetite, thanks to the wealth of content on offer. It’s a hugely entertaining bundle of games that, despite the occasional niggles, will see you coming back for seconds, and thirds, and fourths…

Disjunction on Xbox is a game that I hadn't heard anything of prior to playing it, and I've been pleasantly surprised by how polished and assured it is. The story is a cracker, getting to know the three main characters and their abilities has been interesting, and all in all it’s provided an extremely enjoyable time. This is helped by an appealing hook and gameplay elements that are strong enough to ensure you keep on playing.

DARQ: Complete Edition on Xbox is a surreal, curious adventure that has the look and feel of a big budget title. Despite its short length Lloyd’s world impresses and terrifies in equal measure, and now it looks better than ever thanks to Xbox Series X|S.

Playing this game is a joy, it’s one of the best Final Fantasy’s, one of the best JRPGs, and one of the best games ever. A few bugs and general porting issues aren’t enough to completely dampen my spirits when playing through it again, and thankfully they don’t take away too much from the game.

CarX Drift Racing Online is a very capable drift simulator. The physics work, the joy of sliding and skidding is real, and if you have the slightest interest in the noble Japanese art of drift, you need to play this game.

WILD HEARTS is one for both fresh faces and hardened veterans, and should be seen as the first legitimate threat to Monster Hunter’s unopposed reign at the top.

If you are invested into Virtua Fighter, you’ll find lots to love about Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage. And even if you’re not, this is easily good enough to drag you in. The action on display is smooth, the gameplay is fast, and as long as you avoid the sharks online, you’ll have an enjoyable time with this one.

Putting some annoyances with the hit detection to one side, Story of a Gladiator is a game that will keep you playing until you beat it, before seeing you coming back for more to chase those stars.

The work that has gone into the Weird West world and the characters that frequent it is impressive. Yes the grind is real, but it is a rewarding experience when it all comes together.

Big Helmet Heroes is a lot of fun, either in co-op or single player. There is a great thread of humour running through the game, and the combat action builds the enjoyment. It isn’t perfect, but if you want a laugh and a ton of action, it can be found here.

Cosmic Top Secret is a unique and novel way to use video games to create an experience that no book or documentary format could even come close to achieve. There’s a great deal to learn and discover in this adventure, and above all it presents a very raw and honest look into the very human lives of those who worked tirelessly and confidentially during a very unique period in history.

If you’re looking for one of those pick up and play games that can be enjoyed for either a few minutes or a couple of hours at a time, then LOST ORBIT: Terminal Velocity on Xbox One is the game for you.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is an absolutely spot-on remake of an old, fairly simple game. The new things that are added in make a big difference, and the inclusion of multiplayer modes are a lot of fun.

Scribblenauts Showdown is one of the better party games that doesn’t involve singing, dancing, or everyone needing a smartphone, so grab a controller and unleash your creative thoughts upon those closest to you. It’s good, wholesome fun.

Adventures of Bertram Fiddle Episode 1: A Dreadly Business only clocks in at less than two hours for completion of all four chapters, which is a slight disappointment, but the time spent is sure to bring plenty of humour. There’s a cracking cast of characters, a decidedly British script and some truly wacky moments as you delve into the lives of Victorian London’s residents.

For under a tenner, you’d be foolish to miss out on Adventures of Bertram Fiddle Episode 2: A Bleaker Predicklement. It’s great value for money and here’s hoping there’s more of Bertram to come further down the line.

As a golf game, Golf Peaks is ultimately lacking, but as a puzzler it does exactly what it needs to - excelling in creativity without ever being too showy. Should you be looking to sink a few at the weekend without wanting too much stress or bother, Golf Peaks will provide you with all the shots you need.

Dora: Rainforest Rescue achieves its goal. It is perfectly weighted for a young player to play, yet it’s far from simplistic. There’s hidden stuff, replay opportunities and minigames. Throw in co-op, so an adult can act as a safety net if the kid gets stuck, and you have an admirable My First 3D Adventure. ¡Muy bien!

If you have a love for old arcade games, or like the occasional test of your reflexes, then Mokoko X over-delivers.

Surviving Mars – Space Race is a small piece of DLC relatively speaking, in the sense that it is an added feature. As such, I feel the price tag of £10.39 is a bit on the expensive side. What it adds is certainly a substantial new gameplay feature, but for the most part it is much the same as the game you would play beforehand.

Mighty Switch Force! Collection on Xbox One provides WayForward’s most exemplar IP all in one place, and while it might be missing an iOS spin-off or two, the main titles are intact.

As things stand, this is one of the better KEMCO releases of recent times, and if you are looking for a game to challenge you, and you’re a fan of turn based retro styled RPGs, look no further.

Dollmare has enough about it to entertain over a period of a few hours. Yet if I had one criticism, the in-game money that is handed out fast becomes a bit redundant.

Revita is a game that is worth the investment. Once you get into it, you’ll find yourself sinking in the hours.

Paradise Lost on Xbox has surprised from start to finish. It tells a good and moving story, and deals with an alternative chilling history with some brilliant visuals and well-written narrative. It's not a challenging game at all but rather a narrative exploration that takes you on quite a linear path.

If you're one of those who constantly harks back to the good old days, you're going to love what has been produced here. Hotshot Racing really does hammer home the feel of the old classic racers, however there’s a nagging feeling that I just wish they'd gone a bit deeper and provided even more of the brilliant gameplay that is on offer.

The Wingspan: European Expansion DLC isn’t a particularly disruptive flock of birds. It doesn’t add new ways to play, or send you spiralling off, trying out wildly different tactics. But in the area that matters - the birds - it delivers. They look great, sound authentic, and offer plenty of ways to tinker with your approach.

Ad Infinitum is disturbing, confusing and horrific, much like the WWI setting. It tackles some interesting themes and tells a story that is hard to get a handle on. But the gameplay is solid, as are the visuals and brilliant soundtrack.

Fans of strategy and sim genres will get a huge amount of fun from Stellaris: Console Edition, burning a ton of man-hours as they take their people on an epic journey across the universe. It’s a game that is all about self-narrative and the creation of stories, and I guess that is what has got me utterly hooked.

Queen’s Quest 2 is one of the better options out there if you’re after a puzzling adventure.

The Division 2 is very much like the first game of the franchise. The gameplay feels familiar, but there are noticeable tweaks and additions to all the modes on offer, all of which are for the best. I’ve had a blast playing through it all in co-op with a friend, but it’s certainly different playing on your own; far from terrible but you’ll need lots of willpower.

Loopindex may not win any awards, or get Phil Spencer to pull out his chequebook and buy up the studio, but it might also be what you need right now. It’s a concise, perfectly able puzzler, and it gets even better in two-player. For the low, low price, that’s an absolute steal.

Another Crab’s Treasure is an outstanding game, only let down by a dodgy camera and some unfortunate scenery issues. The combat is hard but fair, capable of being tweaked to your liking, and that means exploring a vast underwater world as a small crab has never been such fun.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition brings a true classic back for a new generation. Whether you are a die hard strategy fan or first time invader, there is no better place to start.

If you have an interest in an ARPG, and are looking for something outside of Diablo, Ghostlore is well worth your time.

Pinball FX - Bethesda Pinball is the latest set in a long line of enjoyable tables added to the expanding library. Some may feel it is a little pricey, but if you’ve enjoyed Pinball FX previously, or looking for a place to start, this is as good a place as any to get stuck in.

With simplistic controls ensuring gameplay is easy to pick up for players of all ages, a smoothly spoken narrative pushing the story along at the perfect pace and plenty of interesting puzzles found throughout, this is one cooperative puzzler that offers a memorable and enjoyable experience.

The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature has done pretty well on the awards front elsewhere, receiving critical acclaim when it released on other formats. It’s easy to see why too - I’ve loved what has been created here and the integration of the Mary Shelly Frankenstein story has been an inspired choice.

Minecraft Legends is a proper strategy game, despite the friendly look. Scratching the surface will show a surprising amount of depth and whilst hardcore RTS players may sneer, it brings a ton of fun to the table.

When all is said and done though, if the base game of Control didn’t strike your fancy then The Foundation DLC on Xbox One isn’t going to add much else that you’d be interested in. But if you enjoyed Control, I definitely recommend picking up The Foundation. And for those who can’t get enough of the plot, it might be worth just going straight for the Season Pass.

Syd’s journey to find her brother honestly feels more like a journey to find herself. And with the help of her two friends Max and Quei-Li, A Summer with the Shiba Inu was a journey I found myself wanting to go through multiple times.

I have been thoroughly impressed by the quality of the work on offer with Through the Darkest of Times on Xbox One. It takes you on an unforgettable journey through the eyes of those Berliners who didn't like what was happening to their country, desperate for change and the world to see the truth. It may not be for all but it's important that games like this are made.

Bravery & Greed is an example of a fusion of genres done well. The graphics may put some people off, but I urge those folk to give the gameplay a try - the loop of fighting and exploring is pretty compelling.

The big takeaway for Reus 2 is this: don’t give up on it in the beginning. It might feel overwhelming at first, what with the sheer number of options and the short, hands-off tutorial. But it is so worth carrying on, because this is a gentle and amazing god sim game.

Sword of the Necromancer is a roguelike RPG that is largely experimental, and when all the little parts come together, it’s an experience which manages to standout from so many other procedurally generated indie games on the market.

Despite zero explanation of how to play, and a feeling that little is gained on each playthrough, there is more than enough twin-stick shooting action in Genetic Disaster to keep you satisfied.

Warborn on Xbox One is stylish, easy to get to grips with and provides plenty of gameplay hours. However, this is a game aimed for all ages, and for that reason it may lack depth and challenge for the strategy nuts out there.
