The main flaw of Halo 3: ODST is a lack of courage. Because with ODST Bungie could have tried to break away from the main saga, to give the ODST greater dignity and recognition. Although, it's still a very good game, full of spectacular moments and fun to play with a multiplayer segment of exception.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection finally allows Western players to access the entire Ace Attorney saga, including Ace Attorney Investigations 2, the last spin-off that had remained unreleased in our region, at least through official channels. And that's a great thing, as it is one of the best-written chapters in the entire series. The only flaw in this collection, if we want to nitpick, is the lack of any noteworthy new content to enhance it compared to the original releases. However, considering that we're talking about a very niche series—one that, until recently, many thought we would never see again in the West—it would have been hard to ask for more from Capcom. We'll see if, now that the entire series has been released on modern platforms, Capcom decides to continue it in some form, especially given that the last original episode dates back to 2016.

Kingdom Hearts III is graphically exceptional, with a brilliant art design, and its narratives bring almost everything to an end. Rhythm and direction, however, never meet the expectations the saga has established. The music does not fill what had been an essential role in the previous chapters. In the end, the game lacks a real "wow" moment, that certain something to be fixed in the fans' memories, as well as truly immersive and convincing Disney worlds.

Resident Evil 5 carries on the same action path started with its predecessor. The main innovation is of course co-op mode, which delivers good fun if played online, but due to glitches in the friendly A.I., spoils the single player experience. Die hard fans will be happy to know that the story goes deep, and it's well connected with the last chapters of the series. Graphics and sound are simply stunning. If you miss the old survival horror genre you will surely be disappointed, but Resident Evil 5 is still a great action game, especially if enjoyed all the way through with a friend.

But that's not what Square Enix wanted it to be: this thirteenth chapter is a completely new point of view for the saga, which was in terrible need of a new direction. Its world is fascinating to traverse, the movement system is solid, and the bosses provide a genuine challenge. The narrative, however, remains in the background, and the combat system lacks meaningful evolution over time, staying consistently minimal. The story, content and gameplay are unquestionably of a good standard, but it was not what we wanted from the final game of Kiryu Kazuma, who we were so fond of during these 12 years. In our opinion it was reasonable to expect something more, especially in the combat system that instead of going forward took a step back, especially if compared with Yakuza 0, which on that front (but not only that) was the pinnacle of the series. If Shovel Knight was a great homage to the NES era, this is an amazing homage to the Genesis and Master System era. It's what Sonic should be in this day and age, and it's quite funny that its developer wasn't SEGA, but an indie team with a lot of passion for the blue hedgehog. It has brilliant level design, great and tight gameplay, various playable characters, and good pixel graphics. What more do you want? A good storyline? Not there of course, but we don't really care considering the rest.

Dark Souls Remastered arrives on Nintendo Switch with an imperfect edition. It's portable Dark Souls, sure, but apart from that all the other remastered versions are preferable for home gaming.
