For a gamer who loves the competitive side of fighting games, this is definitely the best Tekken of the bunch, especially if said gamer loves to play online.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is a testament to the way platform games were made back in the days of GameBoy, with a lot of attention to details and pixel perfect jumps:in 2015 this is still the way to go for 2d games, no matter the platform and the budget.

We expected dragon riding to be quite better, but Dragonborn remains a great expansion pack, rich in content and epic scope. Especially if you played Morrowind.

My Steam library is full of Warhammer 40,000-themed titles; very few are passable, a handful are good games, and the circle of excellent ones is very small. Space Marine 2 now joins as well—and it is a feast for the eyes and a faithful reproduction of the universe created by Games Workshop, a dream come true for those who grew up with this saga. The gameplay is a refined version of that third-person shooter and action mix we already appreciated in the first chapter, with a combat system that is much more technical and complex compared to its predecessor. It’s not a perfect game, mainly due to a lackluster AI and overly chaotic moments, with messy situations that lead the player to inevitable button mashing, but it’s the best video game adaptation of Games Workshop’s grimdark universe.

If you were expecting a game on par or even better than Origins, you'll probably be a bit disappointed by this second chapter. A year and a half of development isn't enough to craft a masterpiece, even for Bioware, and the final product is plagued by bugs and repetitive dungeons. That Said, Dragon Age II is still a great RPG with a fantastic fighting system, a grand storyline and a lot of other redeeming qualities, and if you like the genre you should definitely check it out.

Despite the change in pace, graphics and tactics, Dragon Age II is once again one of the greatest RPGs of our time, thanks to an interesting storyline, fascinating characters and a fun, over the top dark fantasy combat system.

The masterpiece you don't expect, who knows how to remedy many flaws of the more famous rivals without disrupting any of the mechanics which we have become accustomed, using instead many original ideas to give a boost to the genre.

Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten DX is a peculiar mix of tower-defense and RPG. Thanks to an intriguing story and a complex and satisfying gameplay, the game will appeal to all those who love strategy games, even with its lack of diversity in enemies.

Tim Shafer is back (in Black!) with an original action-adventure game that finds its strength in an awesome art direction and an innovative gameplay that mixes pure action into real time strategy. The result is a funny rollercoaster ride between over the top characters and beautiful environments. On the other hand, controls are sometimes frustrating, A.I. is disappointing, and the overall lasting appeal of the game suffers from a short single player campaign. Nonetheless, if you're looking for an old-style funny adventure, a post-modern fairytale, or the work of artists of the art direction, this is the game to buy this fall.

Another great postatomic RPG, so similar to its predecessor that it shares the same technical problems. Nonetheless, those who loved the Wasteland will find a lot of great gameplay and fun in New Vegas.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has compelling story and themes, an often brave exploration component and inspired characters, even though those are all flooded by fillers seeking to artificially raise the longevity value.

It's both very easy and very difficult to review this Special Edition: if you've never played Skyrim, you should buy it as soon as possible, as this is one of the finest WRPG ever made. On the other hand, if you've already spent hundred of hours into it, this edition may not offer anything worthwhile. In any case, just be sure to prefer the Xbox One version over the PS4 one.

With the exception of some small twists, A Crooked Mile is not convincing and leaves the player unsatisfied for almost the entire duration of the chapter. Only in the final minutes a glimmer of light touches the production, though perhaps too feeble to illuminate the entire series.

The remake of Butcher Bay is a great work: a classic game with enhanced graphics and the same great gameplay... despite this the new story, Escape From Dark Athena, is simply pointless. Multiplayer quality is too far from today standards, so it results in a valueless feature.

A Mortal Kombat with great customization possibilities and lot of single player content, even sometimes grinding could be avoided. We loved the more tactical gameplay that leaves to the player much more control over the simple combo connection.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is a good stand alone adventure that deepens the story of Billie Lurk. It offers roughly three-four hours of gameplay and brand new powers to experiment with.

It probably lacks a bit of courage, but Streets of Rage 4 works on every level, especially if you plan to play it with friends. Let's really hope that this is a rebirth for this beloved franchise.

Even if it doesn't last long and ends in a not-too-exciting way, there are several good reasons to get lost in the depths of Tumbleton.

We are not yet before the definitive Battlefield and not a 1:1 clone of Battlefield 3. The general balance will still require work, and the hope is that post-launch support will introduce more varied and open maps. However, the foundations are incredibly solid. You can feel the passion and the will of DICE and the Battlefield Studios to get back on track, to listen to their community, and to give back to Battlefield the crown it deserves.

A wonderful port that bestows PSP owners of one of the best beat'em ups ever, surely the best portable one. Great controls, fast fights, amazing visuals. This is Tekken 6 for Playstation Portable.

Just interesting in single player but exhilarating and crazy in multiplayer, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime surely is worth the download. Be prepared to shoot down tons of aliens and to save a lot of little guys (mostly rabbits), because love has to win and your customized-and-upgraded ship is the only hope left.

Fun and over the top as always, Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage will definitely entertain you. Unfortunately, it won't last long.

Split Second is a funny arcade racer, standing up on its own unique trait: the ability to blow up specific elements of the track, a chance gained only when driving with a certain skill. Spectacular as the Hollywood movies to which it inspires, it falls short on customization and online options. It won't last more than the 10/12 hours offered by the campaign, which is a shame indeed. Still, it deserves to be played for its unique and funny approach to the racing genre.

Probably the best game in its class. It's the usual strategic made by Paradox: deep and realistic but unable to catch if you're not into this kind of game.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is a fun and original title, which differs from its predecessors, revealing more than a good action-adventure.

The first adventure of Master Chief is a must for anyone who hasn't ever played it yet, but it is too expensive and offers nothing really new. The gameplay feels too aged to have another go if you already played it in the past.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is a beautiful Square Enix's RPG, which includes the Disney's magic in the style of Final Fantasy.

The Last Guardian closed Ueda's trilogy with an important signal: the poem before the content, but the poetry tends toward the vacuum, leaving a beautiful picture to see, but not beautiful to live.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is built on solid foundations and a clear vision. It was a bold gamble on a legendary legacy, but also an opportunity to redefine the boundaries of hardcore action combat on modern PCs and consoles. Yakumo doesn’t have Ryu’s charisma, and we hope the undisputed hero of the saga will take center stage again in the future. Still, PlatinumGames’ touch—despite the many departures—remains pure gold.

A good point and click game, with a rather traditional gameplay, and a sufficient difficulty. Anyway, the narrative side is the best part of the game, with a well-written story.

Challenging and well-designed, Octo Expansion is a nice add-on for the players that are looking for something new in Splatoon 2. And you can play it while offline, so it's perfect to take with you on the go. Just keep in mind that you can't throw your Joy-Cons away while trying to complete a stage for the tenth time.

Little Inferno was already a great game when it was released on PC and Wii U last November and it still is now that it has landed on App Store.

Don't Starve Mega Pack is the definitive edition of a great survival game, with a beautiful "burtonesque" sense of wonder. Try it, if you haven't done before.

If you expected a traditional JRPG, Final Fantasy XIII will be very disappointing for you. But that's not what Square Enix wanted it to be: this thirteenth chapter is a completely new point of view for the saga, which was in terrible need of a new direction. The plot is intense and built on an enjoyable smaller scope, the battle system is deep and satisfying, and technically (albeit a couple of unexpected flaws) the game delivers. So that's it, a NEW Final Fantasy: if that's what you were waiting for, big time.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter it's a lovely experience that enchants the player with its narrative, and landscapes. Even the sound is fitting in this smart game whose only real problem is the duration.

Good enemies variety and the new dark setting deliver an average amount of fun for those who love the original game. It won't last long, but it's still a fair deal.

Falcom did it again: The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel III is probably their best work up to date, and on of the best JRPgs available for Playstation 4 and PC. The only downside is that you'll need to have played both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 to better appreciate the writing and story.

The Walking Dead is a fan service carried out perfectly. If you're a fan of zombies created by Kirkman this is a must buy.

Apart from the PC version, which still wins thanks to mouse and keyboard controls, this is the best way to experience the ironic masterpiece called Thimbleweed Park. Don't let the old school vibe turn you off: thanks to the Casual mode, this is a timeless classic that should be played by anyone who was born and raised between the late '70s and the early '90s.

A strong baseball title, with an almost perfect gameplay, brilliant graphics and lots of contents; still, some game modes can feel a bit unsatisfying at times.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is a great soccer game. The gameplay overall is still pretty much the same, but a lot more has been added. The engine in the gameplay is excellent, and feels a more smooth gameplay. The free kick has improved and the IA of your players is better than last year's edition. Very fun and fantastic gameplay.

Modnation Racers proved a pleasant surprise. A title that brings all the carefree fun of racing karts and introduces something new which can be capable of refreshing the genre and expanding the range of strategic options granted to the player. Next to the solid and challenging gameplay tacked on by developers, you can find an editor with great potential and above all is very easy to use which, together with extensive online support, should ensure good longevity. A game that you love, even if it can't rely on well known characters.

Not for the casual gamers. Strategy hardcore fans will love the hard gameplay and the lengthy campaign, especially when sold at a bargain price.

Baseball fans will love it, but the game does nothing special to feel like something new – or next-gen.

Suikoden I - II HD Remaster is a good enough compilation to discover (or re-discover) two of the most influential JRPG of all time, both treated with respect and both still very enjoyable today. The budget Konami allocated for this project was probably minimal, but the effort put in recreating these two classics is commendable nonetheless.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a beautiful journey, highly emotional and protagonized by two memorable characters. Despite some techinal flaws, if you enjoy well written story and you are not afraid to be moved by a videogame, you really shouldn't miss this one.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 improves many elements of the first episode and is a true postcard from the End Times.

51 Worldwide Games has all the pros and cons of compilations games, but the price tag drags this game down even further.

Halo Wars brings the Halo atmosphere in the RTS world, thanks to great sounds, graphics, animations and charisma as well. The game completes the Halo FPS trilogy, unveiling unknown important storyline steps, but the lack of a deeper control layout and innovative ideas results in a superficial management of the troops , which will become frustrating in a lot of gameplay situations. The presence of only 15 campaign missions with only 2 factions Skirmish doesn’t help it to become a "Heroic" product. Probably its still the best "classic-style" RTS for a console, if you don’t consider "EndWar" (which has a different gameplay concept), but it could be a better game.

Arkane's work on PC is finally up to expectations.

If the NBA 2K series is the LeBron James of basketball games, then NBA 2K19 is another triple double from Visual Concepts. A game with improved gameplay, a great Prelude and an incomparable presentation. Still, mind that the microtransactions are still here, and they are as annoying as ever.

"Awesome" doesn't quite cut it. This game is crazy, light-speed fast, and has some brilliant gameplay ideas.

We are sincere when we say that Resident Evil, even today, is a great demonstration of the genius of Mikami and remains a great game, challenging and full of tension, despite the cumbersome inventory management.

Let's not beat around the bush: we didn't like the new direction Electronic Arts and Bioware have given to the Dragon Age franchise. The original idea must have been to expand the public for this third entry, but the result is a game that won't probably appeal to anyone, especially long-time fans. Just give us a Dragon Age Origins remaster at this point, please.

Blacklist features an enjoyable gameplay that can be appreciated by both the longtime fans and the newcomers. If we add to this a strong multiplayer mode that really deserves to be played, the overall quality of the package rises dramatically.

Tekken 7 is a fighting game with a great gameplay, but with little content in the single player mode. The story, however, is pleasing and full of content, unlike what happened in the previous chapters. Tekken 7 is the most balanced and immediate Tekken ever.

A game with amazing atmosphere, and one of the best post apocalyptic settings around. Unfortunately it's also an easier and more streamlined experience compared to its predecessor, at least at the base difficulty level. 4A Games could have chosen the survival road, making this a truly unique and challenging experience. By going for the "safe" choice they created a good fps, but not an unforgettable one.

The Thaumaturge doesn’t bring anything groundbreaking to the table and doesn’t quite measure up to its more illustrious predecessors. Yet, it tells a compelling and intriguing story, enriched by a setting deeply shaped by its social and political context.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on Switch includes new levels inspired by Super Mario Odyssey. Despite some controversial design choices in docked mode, It offers a fresh gameplay concept and a lot of fun.

Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer is a perfect adventure for anyone who misses a well-structured point-and-click game reminiscent of the genre’s golden age. Thanks to its twist-filled narrative and well-written characters, it’s a joy to play from start to finish. The entire story is accompanied by classic old-school gameplay, featuring cleverly designed puzzles that are challenging without ever feeling overwhelming. If you’ve been longing for a new point-and-click adventure capable of leaving a lasting impression, Kathy Rain 2 might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Botanicula is a great point and click adventure made by Amanita Design. The game is fascinating, rich with ironic sequences and beautiful locations, with five protagonists with different skills.

Closer to a novel than to gaming itself, it's suited more to an eastern oriented public. Narration is superb, characters simply unforgettable. On the other hand, if you don't like text heavy experiences, this is not the game for you.

The ending of Life is Strange 2 is awesome, proving that Dontnod Entertainment has improved a lot.

Joe Danger: The Movie represents a step forward for Hello Games. The team made a fun and good game, characterized by the same humor and the fast-paced gameplay already seen in the first chapter.

It might be an isolated experiment, or the birth of a new niche in videogaming. Anyway, it's definitely worth trying, at list to get a glimpse of the fact that videogame don't always mean seralization and infinite repetition of the same ideas.

A smart and fun game, with a lot of shooting and puzzles for you to deal with. Unfortunately, its controls are sometimes imprecise, and it does not abound in variety.
