Wasteland 3 is not a great revolution for the genre or for its franchise itself, but it is one of the main references of an old school of role playing that helped define the foundations that the rest of the proposals have followed since the 80s. There is care and talent in the construction of its world, its stories and its dialogues, as in the rest of the RPG elements, although it is slightly weighed down by a not very striking finish and various technical problems.

Metro Exodus is considerably larger, more varied and equally as fun as the previous games. Although we sometimes miss the claustrophobia of the underground tunnels, the open worlds present more tactical action variety and allows us to know much more of the background of this nuclear future that seems so real that it is scary to think about.

The perfect introduction for what will be Life is Strange 2, gameplay and universe with references to the saga. An emotional story with a very powerful narrative.

FIFA 18 does everything FIFA 17 did, but better. The Return of Alex Hunter is a much-improved version of last year mode and turns out to be a must play for everyone who owns this game. Visuals are stunning but gameplay is still the king on the best game of the most played sport of the world.

Need for Speed Heat is an ode to what made this saga great with an installment that retrieves its foundations to combine them with a clear inspiration from the Forza Horizon saga bringing us one of the most complete and entertaining arcade driving games of the generation with stunning visuals.

Digimon Survive is a fantastic game, which manages to mix visual novel and tactical RPG in a masterful way, offering a perfect symbiosis between both genres. Its story will be able to grab us from beginning to end, and its deep combat system will guarantee us some really fun playable stages. To all of this we must add the finishing touch of an unbeatable audiovisual section, resulting in a truly rounded product.

Yooka-Laylee is the comeback of the classic platforming genre. An excellent result in a new universe that feels familiar in a lot of ways and the introduction of two new characters that will become your new friends.

Alan Wake Remastered is one of the most essential games this year. More than ten years since the original launch, Remedy's best game provides a mysterious and terrifying story, a dynamic gameplay that use the light as a weapon and the perfect environment that is Bright Falls. Plus, the magnificent work of remastering such an excellent game give us hope for a sequel that, maybe, arrives in a few years.

An underrated masterpiece that we should not forget despite its age, and one of the best entries that marked a turning point in Bandai Namco's franchise.

The Council brings us the evolution of "Telltale formula" we have been wanting for so long. Choices finally matter, characters have their own personality and we have to be very careful with every step. Even if it technically has some issues, The Council is a masterpiece worth trying.

Monster Hunter Wilds maintains its core essence of hunting and forging, but it seems directed at a new audience, softening the difficulty and removing challenges like the Elder Dragons. While enjoyable, it may seem less challenging to veterans, with much of the exciting content postponed for a future expansion. The innovations shine in the game, but the lack of difficulty may demotivate experienced players from utilizing the variety of tools at their disposal, leaving a bittersweet taste as we await updates that will motivate continued hunting.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a spectacular remake that brings us one of the games with the best graphics of this generation. Its exciting plot and great atmosphere take us back to the 1930s, where a cab driver gets into a war between mafias that will change his life.

NBA 2K19 is the best basketball game of all time, a must have for all NBA fans. The title offers a lot of game modes like My Team or My Career to enjoy playing for many hours. There are also important changes in the gameplay like the new physics.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World - Complete Edition is a side-scrolling beat-em-up, similar to Streets of Rage. It has a unique soundtrack and very well done artistic and graphic work. This is a really enjoyable game to play. Although it has some bugs, overall it is a very polished game. It includes several new features compared to its 2010 version, including an online mode that still needs to be refined. Otherwise it is a game that must be played.

Snake Pass is a fun game with original control. A platforms game that remind us the times when the important thing was go through levels and get collectibles. Maybe it's short, but it's different and entertaining. A good game for the old Rare games and the Nintendo 64 fans.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider evolves in its gameplay to be much wilder. The story is interesting and the Lara Croft that we will know, much deeper. Many hours of play with great content are afoot.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the Star Wars game we've been waiting for. Masterfully combine a challenging combat system with elaborate level design and a strong exploration component, platforms and puzzles. A recommended title not only for adventure lovers, but also for those looking for a challenge and especially for Star Wars fans.

High Isle, the new expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online, is what the game has been missing for quite some time, allowing you to immerse yourself in the adventure in a much more immersive way than in previous installments.

FIFA 21 says goodbye to Xbox One with the best game (in playable terms) of the saga. The amount of game modes overwhelms and it will reach different types of public.

NBA 2K18 is the best basketball game ever, with many possibilities for all NBA fans. This year the game includes huge changes with My Career and My GM modes, and you can spend plenty of hours playing these two modes. Of course, we see changes on the gameplay front, and new options like the All Time Teams.

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut comes to Xbox in the best possible way: with its memorable story, its magnificent characters and a great console adaptation.

Observation is one of the many wonders of the Xbox Game Pass catalogue. The No Code game brings us a unique adventure, with a compelling narrative and an experience that will stay with us long after the game is over.

Kinutsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess marks the return of the more experimental Capcom. A fun game, loaded with interesting mechanics and somewhat challenging if you're not familiar with strategy. It may not be a videogame for everyone, but everyone has the mission to try this interesting and fascinating proposal.

Street Fighter 6 is the best fighting game of the moment. It is the perfect example of how to do a job that respects the basics of the franchise while introducing new elements that make it feel different. The introduction of the modern fighting system is great news for new players, making their entry into the genre more approachable. In addition, the Rollback Netcode works wonderfully, and the graphics are outstanding.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is the best Dragon Ball game of all time. Visuals are gorgeous, practically perfect, faithful to anime and manga. Gameplay also stands out thanks to a deep combat and dozens of systems. Complex and, at the same time, very accessible fighting game.

Artistically superb, beautifully designed and overall well adapted to controller pads, Crusader Kings III delivers the PC experience to consoles in a very unique way. These kind of games on PC are relatively common from time to time, but on consoles this exotic genre is like a gem you can enjoy one time every decade -or even more-. These kind of games are not for everyone. Despite its magnificent possibilities and eternal endgame, it's very complex to learn how to play from start and you will spend several hours reading and playing tutorials or getting unlimited hints in order to actually get some small improvements on your walkthrough. Surprisingly no option for keyboard and mouse, despite the fact that many games are already including this compatibility option without any issues.

As a whole, Prey is a great game. Difficult to classify, full of choices, with an extraordinary sci-fi setting and most of all, with a marked personality. If you want an excellent adventure, there are so many reasons for not missing this game, such as the huge number of influences underlying it.

Super Hydorah is more than a revival of the classic shoot 'em up games. Locomalito and Gryzor87 made one of the most important Spanish games of recent years, a love letter to the classics, but also a great stand alone game. Super Hydorah is fun, hard and is not too long, but is one of the freshest and funniest experiences that you can experience on Xbox One.

EA Sports FC 24 has turned out to be a real revolution compared to what we have seen in the FIFA franchise. It is true that Electronic Arts makes use of the base that has worked so well in previous installments, but it enhances it with new features such as Hypermotion, PlayStyles and other improvements that give it more packaging. In addition, it incorporates some new features in all its modes, with women's soccer as the main protagonist, which make the game the most complete we have seen to date of the beautiful game.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Trilogy gives us a great oportunity to enjoy the last three chronological entries of Phoenix Wright franchise the best way possible. The original titles were already prominent videogames, but recent graphical upgrades, quality of life improvements and a great deal of extras and achievements to unlock, we think the game deserves a great mark.

DOOM Eternal does not give you rest, its diabolic challenge and its endless rhythm will put us on trial throughout the 20 hours or so that its main campaign lasts.

Gears 5 Hivebusters is an excellent DLC that expands the lore of the Gears saga and provides us with moments of non-stop action. It's a great example of why single player DLCs should never die.

Doki Doki: Literature Club Plus! is a unique game. An experience that is difficult to describe to anyone who has not yet played it, but one that will undoubtedly stick with those who do.

Text-adventure, point and click and horror story. Who would have thought a combination like this would work in 2020. Stories Untold does it with ingenuity and skill. Essential.

Assassin's Creed Shadows marks the arrival of the franchise in Japan, and it does it in style with one of the best installments of the franchise. Its story, its gameplay and its graphic and artistic level position it as the best game of the saga since it made the leap to the RPG genre.

Far Cry 5 is an indispensable title for fans of shooting and action games. Its history is a path worth visiting and its playability will keep you in front of the screen.

Neon White is one of the best games I've played this year. Frantic, fun and with a slight touch of competitiveness. The game is a perfect symbiosis that manages to offer an outstanding result, and that I recommend playing to everyone, especially after its arrival on Game Pass.

The Division 2 is not a radical change, but it is that little twist that the game needed. It's a much more complete game than its first installment in every aspect. Starting with the content, but also, and not less important, by how well integrated are this time almost all elements: progress, gameplay, endgame...

Ashen is one of those independent gems that comes to us from time to time to value a segment of the videogame industry that has been living for a few years its particular golden age. Its evocative visual presentation and, above all, its playable depth of role-playing mechanics and demanding combat are enough arguments for Ashen to be one of the references of the genre in the independent field and one of the best games in this final stretch of 2018.

For the King is a turn-based role-playing game, in which each game will be different thanks to its procedural style. A game that will make you want to continue playing one turn after another. Ideal to start in this style of games and very complete for lovers of it. Guarantees many hours of fun.

Although the player might lose it and feel off during the very first couple of hours, Skull and Bones slowly develops a strong and solid naval battle/exploration and beautifully made videogame for all pirate fans. An outstanding budget results in a very well done videogame overall with barely bugs or errors despite we're playing the very first version of the game. It may be surely disappointing to not fight with swords, but the amazing, powerful and full of variants naval battles are the best right now in the genre. The world is alive and great, with a lot of things to do, and some other things are even better done than Sea of Thieves, which is, impressive and worth mentioning. We got a real, adult and non humoristic alternative to Rare's biggest work yet.

F1 22 has superb gameplay that perfectly conveys the regulation changes of the 2022 Formula One season. But on the other hand, it loses Braking Point mode and is replaced by F1 Life and Supercars, which end up being excuses for microtransactions and irrelevant gameplay additions.

Capcom Fighting Collection is one of the best collections in the fighting game genre thanks to the 10 games it includes, its variety of characters, stages and combat mechanics as well as an exceptional multiplayer mode. A title not to be missed by fighting game enthusiasts.

Lords of the Fallen is a fantastic Soulslike. The game presents a number of its own ideas that it executes to perfection, with the duality of the worlds as its main asset. Axiom and the Threshold are masterfully created, and have a direct influence on the experience. The gameplay is respectful of the genre and innovative where it needs to be, and on a technical level the game is truly impressive.

Rogue Company is a MMO team-based Third Person Shooter developed by First Watch Games and published by Hi-Rez Studios (Smite and Paladins, among others). Technically it's a satisfying achievement that works at perfect 60fps on every console (including Switch) and with almost zero loading screens that invites the player to engage combat on 4Vs.4, crazy and enjoyable quick matches with unique and well-made characters, weapons and abilities. Great maps designs, tons of new ideas on the upcoming months and all packed in a Free to Play game that wants to be part of the big leagues. Truly a great example of how all competitive games should be in the next years to come.

It will not have the impact Alan Wake had in his day, but Control may be Remedy's best game in recent years. It shows the effort of the team to improve the great weakness that had been dragging in their games, the gameplay itself. Storytelling and the graphics are really amazing.

Tell Me Why changes the Life is Strange formula and manages to bring something fresh. Although not as deep as previous Dontnod games, its gameplay is far more fluid and dynamic. Tell Me Why is a perfect choice for Xbox Game Pass portfolio and a great value for Xbox Game Studios. Meet the Ronan twins; you won't forget them.

Final Fantasy XV is one of 2016's best games, and definitely a must have. Its story will catch you and make you go through Noctis’s troubles, and it is worth playing till the end to discover how all is ended. The side quests are enriching and interesting too. This ten-years-long wait has been worth it.

Life is Strange: True Colors isn't perfect, but it's exactly what fans of the franchise needed. Deck Nine has hit the mark and has taken command of the saga with a powerful story and a protagonist to remember.

Survival demands progress. React to current events, but don’t forget about the long term and investing in development and technological progress. Providing a highly advanced infrastructure with self-powered automatons, airships and other technical wonders is difficult, but achievable.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is a tribute to Kazuma Kiryu and his family. This farewell to the Dojima's Dragon legend is as emotional as it is fun, powered by the Dragon Engine that gave the series the facelift it needed.

Azure Striker GUNVOLT 3 is the most diversified installment to date, with highly addictive gameplay and a nice conclusion from Gunvolt, the most powerful Adept of them all.

PGA Tour 2K23 is everything a golf fan could expect from a golf game, but it's also much more than that. It is a game for all audiences. Demanding and versatile. Exciting and relaxed. An essential if you like sports video games.

Bigger, faster and... better. Halo Wars 2 is a great sequel. Visuals are great, the Xbox One's controller works fine and the sound is a masterpiece. However, the best part of the game is Blitz Firefight, a new card-mode which is really fun. If you enjoyed the first Halo Wars, this sequel is perfect for you.

Little Nightmares 2 is everything fans of the first game could hope for. Tarsier Studios has outdone itself with its rounder work so far.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising is able to take reference to one of the exponents of its genre and offer a result that wastes personality, with a very complete and fun gameplay, rounded off with his funny sense of humor.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a refreshing take on stealth, riddles and RPG elements. Amicia and Hugo's story is well written and, as characters, they show one of finest and strongest relationships in videogames. A Plague Tale: Innocence mixes perfectly fairy tales, death, Plague and 14th century hardness. Just enjoy one of the best AA games of the year.

We are once again taking control of the finest racing cars thanks to Codemasters. Small improvements and additions make F1 2019 the best game in the series. Customize it as you like and start racing.

The most shameless, hilarious and politically incorrect sense of humour is back with South Park: The Fractured But Whole. The game brings us back South Park's true self, with its iconic characters, locations and superpowers. Despite not evolving enough from Stick of Truth, The Fractured But Whole offers us a funny and well executed adventure. Join Coon & Friends to save the world.

Burning Bridges is The Council's next-to-last episode. It brings us interesting gameplay changes, as Louis' new skills, which open a whole new paths. Even if technically Burning Bridges has some problems, Big Bad Wolf manages to offer us a really interesting and surprising chapter. Burning Bridges is the precursor of The Council's anticipated ending.

Ripples delivers the world of corruption, politics and power made by Big Bad Wolf. Puzzles and Confrontations are more intense and complicated and their consequences way more serious than previous episodes. Despite its technical issues, Ripples brings us more challenges and a better story that keeps growing up.

The Council takes us back to Lord Mortimer's manor in Hide and Seek, its second episode. Despite its technical issues and being shorter than The Mad Ones, its design, story and characters excel. Big Bad Wolf keeps raising up the bar. We can't wait for Episode 3.

Star Wars Battlefront II is like a dream come true. The game has a lot of content and it knows how to manage that with a campaign which introduces one of the best characters in the series. It also has a multiplayer that will be the one that catches us for months. Graphics and sound quality are the best of the generation, without a doubt.

F1 Manager 2022 is any Formula 1 fan's dream. With a multitude of management options and a highly detailed spectator mode during races, Frontier has managed to masterfully capture the essence of the competition.

Arcadegeddon is a rogue-lite that invites us to go through a solo or cooperative challenge, getting closer to an audience that is looking for a more accessible and simple rogue-like, but losing some of that typical essence of the genre.

Little Nightmares could be a horror tale created to scare a child. Given its unique atmosphere and design, I’m sure there will be plenty of adults who will have nightmares about this game. And that’s all I want in a horror game.

MotoGP 23 has all the elements to become the best installment in the franchise. The detail in all aspects of the teams, drivers and circuits is simply brutal. With a good handful of game modes, the dynamic atmospheric change that Flag to Flag races bring to the game and the fact of having the commentary in Spanish, makes MotoGP 23 a must for fans of motorcycling or racing games. And thanks to the neural aids, any player can find a balance and fully enjoy the game.

Darkwood feels like an old school game. Its proposal is ruthless to the player and transports him to a cruel world, but its defiant proposal is gratifying. The pretext of the game is already original, an originality that adds some ingredients of terror and survival that amount to a demanding and unique experience for the player.

At the end of a trip it is normal to wonder if it was worth it or not. The answer is yes, with a more than adequate duration so that it doesn't become repetitive, an entertaining game dynamic and the whole sea world to think about yourself, FAR: Changing Tides is an easily recommended adventure for any type of player.

The First Berserker: Khazan proves that Neople Studios has perfectly grasped the essence of the Soulslike genre, delivering an experience that honors FromSoftware’s legacy while introducing fresh, dynamic mechanics. With deep, customizable combat, an immersive narrative, and flawless technical execution, the game stands out in a market oversaturated with imitations. Its balance between challenge and accessibility—paired with its dark anime aesthetic and memorable soundtrack—makes it a must-play for genre fans. While it’s too early to discuss awards, The First Berserker: Khazan is shaping up to be one of the year’s most solid and thrilling action titles.

NBA 2K20 is once again the best exponent of the genre. The novelties included in its modes are only stained by some very intrusive microtransactions.

Every fan of the franchise will be happy to see a great evolution in the gameplay of UFC 4, like the grapple system or the better and immersive career mode, full of enjoyable content and way better than past games, with social media, relationships and training points to make your fighter even stronger and faster. Although technically delivers some minor improvements like better physics of the muscles and animations, it has some tiny drops on intro/outro that doesn't happen on the last game and must be fixed via future patches. All the main body of the graphics was made in UFC 3 and you can tell that by watching many copy/paste animations through the entire game, but yet, there are some notable improvements on how the hair look or moves. More online/offline multiplayer modes are added too, and overall there's still not a game as perfect as the UFC series on realistic body-combat.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is a very special RPG. The title has made an effort to try to create a world that wants to be explored, and is not a mere excuse to advance to the next city. The journey and not the destination is the most important thing in an adventure that presents a really deep and tremendously fun gameplay system. It is true that it is not perfect, especially at a technical level, but it is good enough to be considered one of the greats of the year.

Jusant is Don't Nod best game since Life is Strange despite of being completely different. Its relaxing climbing mechanic combines perfectly with a thrilling story and one of the best soundtracks of the year in gaming.

Hollow Knight brings us metroidvania genre back, with all of its best features: exploration, wide world, combat and platforms. Despite its lack of innovation and some gameplay issues, Hollow Knight is a must for all kind of gamers.

Scarlet Nexus is arguably one of Bandai Namco's best games. Its deep combat system and a plot that makes you want to know more at every turn make the game a highly recommended product for fans of the ARPG genre.

The Evil Within 2 is a terror title that offers many more possibilities than its predecessor. It's survival horror in its pure state, and it's very well-implemented.

Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition's main highlight is Shadows of Rose, a DLC that may get repetitive due to the locations we visit, but the puzzles and jump-scares will be worth the purchase.

The Crew Motorfest is the game that no one expected but has managed to exceed all expectations and criticisms that have been formed around it. With a huge amount of races and events to do, The Crew Motorfest races towards the best open world driving game in a map based in Hawaii that looks spectacular and contains a unique life in every corner.

Inscryption plays with you. It's a fantastic deckbuilding game, but an even better escape room with mystery tropes. Daniel Mullins knows how to interact with the player and that's the reason Inscryption is an indescribable, unique experience.

Planet of Lana is a great puzzle, narrative-focused game. It's pretty, emotional and fun. A must have for the puzzle lovers.

Diablo II Resurrected brings a new breath of life to the 2000 classic with a new graphic layer of the best quality, and some minor touches to its gameplay that makes it more comfortable to play, while remaining true to its roots. And what's more important, its great arrival to consoles has made the title more accessible than ever. Vicarious Visions has proven again that they are one of the best studios at the time to remaster these classics, and we hope that they can achieve to stay afloat on the downward spiral that is isolating Activision-Blizzard lately.

It is a game with an immense map in which there are a thousand things to do. The main character represents the glory in classical Greece while we fight Spartans and Athenians alike. Some problems with the camera and popping do not make the experience negative.

WWE 2K22 brings all the passion and adrenaline of wrestling, in a format that, although it is fair in terms of graphics, stands out for its renewed gameplay, enhancing its mechanics and positioning itself as the best in the franchise.

Hardocre survival horror is back with Amnesia Collection. It's the perfect chance to enjoy The Dark Descent, A Machine for Pigs and Justine. Three horror games that still give us nightmares. Despite its lack of technical improvements, Amnesia Collection is the one everybody must play to know what modern survival horror is about.

Injustice 2 is a good game, much better than its predecessor. A fluid and colorful combat, detailed scenarios and a super personalization system. It is a great fighting game, but we have missed other challenges as well as collectibles. In that sense, it's a step back from Mortal Kombat X.

Outer Wilds It is one of the great sleepers of 2019, without any doubt. An space opera to recommend for its ingenious proposal and beautiful world, but maybe someone find too much effort needed to understand how their narrative and gameplay works.

Neva takes the elemments that make Gris a success and evolves them into new heights. Nomada Studio's new game has now a satisfactory combat system and more clever puzzles, but keeping its own visual beauty.

Warhammer 40000: Space Marine 2 could be the most spectacular action game of this generation so far. A game that combines visceral and frenetic action with superb technical aspects. The setting suits it wonderfully, with well-dubbed dialogues and an exquisite soundtrack, which is expanded with multiplayer game modes to add endless hours of gameplay. Although we cannot deny that the campaign duration or the number of operations may seem poor.

Outlast 2 takes back the very best from Red Barrels: tension, slaughter and pure survival. It brings us a well-drawn and complex script, starred by Blake Langermann, a character to empathize with. Despite its few playable errors, Outlast 2 and Sullivan Knoth’s sect will manage to sneak into our darkest nightmares.

The Ascent brings us all the frenzy and strategy of a chaotic and futuristic cyberpunk-style world, where our character must discover the places and secrets that this universe hides. Despite its flaws, it becomes an Xbox essential.
