You need a special kind of sense of humour to appreciate Gat Out of Hell (the same kind you need to like Saints Row IV), but if you do, it will boost this add-on from 'too ludicrous to be enjoyable' to 'laughing out loud fun'. One problem: it's almost impossible for Saints Row to get more insane than this.

Dead Kings is great if you enjoyed Assassin’s Creed Unity and want more of it, but it’s not going to change your mind if you hated the main game.

The Crew isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t have any game breaking bugs and the framerate is stable. It’s an enjoyable game when playing alone, but comes to life with multiple players in your crew. There’s a ton of content, a humongous world to explore and the addicting level system will keep you coming back for more.

Iron from Ice once again offers everything you’ve come to expect from a Telltale episode: difficult decisions and moral dilemmas, incorporated into fine dialogues and concluded in a SHOCKER of a cliff-hanger. This time it comes in a reasonably successful Game of Thrones-marinade, complete with actors from the series who really seem to give it their best effort. But, again, Telltale seems to be ambitious in their story-telling, but not in the (gameplay-)technical aspect of their titles.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a wonderful little game that proves that a limitation (in this case, Toad’s inability to jump) can be the cornerstone for some truly inspiring and creative ideas. Each of the seventy plus levels is a masterclass in level design and will invite you to find every little secret they hold. Our only regret is that there aren’t even more levels in this package, as even these seventy levels are over far too quickly.

After the heart-wrenching The Walking Dead and the dark murder mysteries of The Wolf Among Us, Tales From The Borderlands: Episode 1 feels like a delightful change of pace. The hard choices are still there, but the action scenes are a lot funnier and the comedic dialogue is being kept at just the right balance. A fine start for Telltale’s newest series.

It's been a while since I had this much fun in World of Warcraft. Draenor is not only very pretty, but also packed with fun quests. The Warlords are the ultimate bad guys and you truly feel called upon to stop them. Finally, garrisons are an addictive and well-integrated addition. Warlords of Draenor is a very complete expansion, which offers the perfect entry point for newcomers, but also provides veterans with enough to give the MMORPG another chance.

We were never big fans of Hoenn, the region where the third generation of Pokémon games took place, but Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire changed our minds. These remakes go beyond the usual new lick of paint and give players so many cool new mega evolutions, story lines and overhauled versions of familiar locations, that the whole experience feels almost as fresh as X and Y did.

Rockstar came, saw and conquered in 2013 and does exactly the same in 2014. So our grade for GTA V stands.

Far Cry 4 is not the best game to come out this year, but definitely one of the more enjoyable ones. A blind purchase if you enjoyed Far Cry 3. Just don’t expect much in the way of originality.

BioWare has written and coded itself into oblivion (no pun intended) the last four years, resulting in a staggeringly huge adventure. It’s not flawless, it’s not on all fronts an improvement on the previous installments, but it’s a free-roaming RPG in which many a poor sod will lose their soul and weeks of their time in, with a happy smile on their extremely content faces.

AC: Unity is a fantastic game, with loads of atmosphere, gameplay and an enormous city to spend days or even weeks of your time. The game could've used more polish, although the glitches and bugs can't spoil all the beauty and fun it offers.

Of course, if you're an Assassin's Creed fan, Rogue is a no-brainer and if you don't own a PS4 or Xbox One, we'd recommend this. But if you're expecting some innovation after Black Flag, you should probably give AC: Unity a spin instead of Rogue.

Are you looking for an entertaining, arcade-like, sometimes even caricatural presentation of the noble 11 vs 11? Then you could consider a season ticket for PES 2015. Do you want your soccer to be more dynamic, realistic and, in the end, just plain better? In that case FIFA 15 is your game.

One last time 343 Industries (and consorts Ruffian, Saber and Certain Affinity) honors Bungie's legacy with an ode so expansive, that it beats Halo: Reach as the ultimate Halo-package. Halo fans, who probably already own Halo Anniversary, should get this for the 106 MP-maps and Halo 2 Anniversary with its amazing new cut-scenes, plus, of course, the Halo 5: Guardians beta, and should consider Halo 3 and 4 to be very, very nice bonuses.

Farming Simulator requires a decent bit of commitment before it becomes enjoyable, but building a profitable farm comes with a unique satisfaction that might tickle your fancy in a way no other game does.

Advanced Warfare is already legendary. Boosting is awesome, mind-blowing and fits the game like a latex glove. I pity Treyarch, who'll have to pull out all stops to surpass this one.

Sunset Overdrive is the most fun I've had in a game so far this year. A brilliant combination of all the best parts of other open world games, complimented with really enjoyable traversal mechanics and a unique sense of style and humor.

Civilization: Beyond Earth may be a spin-off but one that can stand on its own. Things are more unpredictable but the gameplay is still very familiar. More important: Beyond Earth is more than just Civilization V in space.

Styx: Master of Shadows feels like a stealth game from an earlier era. Whether that is a bad thing, however, is the question. If you can look past the somewhat dated graphics, you’ll find that the basic mechanics of the game are well constructed. Also, the open level design and the fun abilities Styx has, make this title well worth the small price tag. Just make sure you remain unseen, as our goblin is certainly not a master of combat.

In the last few chapters The Evil Within finally becomes what it was set out to be: a disturbingly creepy, challenging survival horror game. But in the 10+ hours before that it's too often a frustratingly unfair, aimless mess, in which the technical issues and the old-fashioned development-tropes are not only an eyesore, but a nuisance as well. Survival horror? More like Trial & 'Terror'.​

The Pre-Sequel! is a solid entry in the Borderlands series but nothing more than that. A decent continuation to keep the fans happy until Gearbox is ready to move the series over to the new generation of consoles.

This is the best character action game out right now. Go get this videogame if you like character action games.

NBA 2K15 is like a starting lineup with Kobe Bryant, CP3, Blake Griffin, LeBron James and Dwight Howard. Unbeatable, dazzling, spectacular, sexy as hell and blessed with just some minor defects. Best sports game of 2015, period.

Driveclub’s controls are brilliant and the single-player mode is fine but the online aspect is a joke and the whole Club thing has little to no bearing on the gameplay. Its problems might be fixed in the future but it's definitely not the best racing game of the fall in its current state.

The Crown of the Ivory King DLC could have been the best thing that ever happened to Dark Souls 2. It's just too bad that From Software dropped the ball on some design choices. It has great bosses and an overall perfect feel, except that one area... That area will make you hate snow and blizzards even more than you already do. It's a good thing it's optional. The rest is nearing perfection.

Skylanders: Trap Team is not the game that will win you over if you never enjoyed Skylanders in the first place, but this is a well-polished entry in the series. Especially the Trap Master figurines are good looking toys that look great in real life. It's still a kid's game, but it is the most likeable, pretty and diverse game in the franchise.

Alien: Isolation is an incredibly beautiful game whose regular boring patches are almost always countered with bloodcurdling tension or mind-blowing spectacle. But you should only try it out if you’re a big sci-fi fan and if you have nothing against doing engineering tasks, like in Dead Space. And of course, if you don’t want to miss all of the references, you should at least check out Alien the movie first, if not the entire quadrilogy. ​

Its impressive roster of almost fifty playable characters manages to draw in both newcomers and veteran players, and keeps them hooked through relevance, balance and sheer playability. The physical limitations of the 3DS system does hinder the experience somewhat, especially initially, and this game’s equivalent of the Adventure Mode (Smash Run) lacks the immediate fun of its two predecessors. But the multiplayer is as strong as ever, with the potential to become the series’ most celebrated yet.

Slaughtering Orks with Assassin's Creed-like stealth-gameplay and beating them silly with the fighting-system we know of the Arkham Batman games: it's lot of fun for a good while. Shadow of Mordor offers raw, nasty action, plus enough collectibles, upgrades and other free-roaming tricks to keep you hooked. The biggest surprise though is that it's all interwoven by an interesting, almost Tolkien-worthy narrative.

With 2.0, Infinity has become a little more adult, thanks to a deeper fighting- and level-system, a more expansive Toy Box with a lot more possibilities and the addition of multiple types (‘genres’) of games, which can be created as well as played. It’s a shame that the single-player content has become less exhaustive compared to the former Starter Pack, otherwise this was a big win on every front. Not in the least because of the emphasis on Marvel Heroes.

Forza Horizon 2 makes a great first impression but becomes stale after a while. It's a bit like a long vacation in that sense.

Without a doubt, FIFA 15 is the most realistic, authentic and atmospheric footie I've ever played. The most fun? Well, the ball is in PES 2015's court.

Despite being light on The Legend of Zelda in favor of being not much more than a Dynasty Warriors reskin, Hyrule Warriors still manages to be perhaps the most accessible, charming and exciting entry in the Musou franchise. Zelda fans will drown in its nostalgic presentation and rocking rearrangement of beloved theme songs, while getting the chance to experience how riveting the action-packed gameplay of the Warriors games can truly be.

The latest installment of the Ninja Storm franchise has a truly wonderful multiplayer mode. The battles that used to be unbalanced and somewhat chaotic have improved significantly in Revolution. It's just a shame that the single player pales in comparison. Ninja's where invented to fight, not to perform menial tasks around a village... So make sure you have at least one friend to have a blast playing this game with.

The hype and the expectations associated with it have been a double-edged sword for Destiny, with disappointment as a result. This game doesn't offer the single player-experience we hoped for – despite the unbelievable audio-visual splendor - due to a short, repetitive Story Mode. But if you play Destiny competitively and/or cooperatively, then it's almost impossible not to have fun, thanks to constant rewards and delicious gameplay. And it still has the potential to become the game we wished it had been.

Lethal League is worth checking out, especially is you have the means to play it on the couch with friends. The online mode is decent but the offline experience is where it’s at.

Besides the hugely improved Build Mode and Create-A-Sim and the fact that the game runs very smoothly this time around, this is the weakest base-game in the Sims-series. But luckily not by a great distance. Burrowing deeper than the first, somewhat disappointing hours, players will find that a lot of the missing features (basements, toddlers, pools and a ‘open world’ village) are compensated by lots of animations, objects, collectibles and other fun stuff that only Sims-lovers can truly appreciate.

While Crown of the Old Iron King is a small step backwards in comparison to the previous Dark Souls 2 DLC, it’s still superb. It’s not as dark or filled with poison as Crown of the Sunken King, but fire is the trade-off here. The enemies are not as tough as you're used to, but there are many of them. And it is truly a treat to walk in and around Brume Tower. Crown of the Old Iron King is a must-have for the great 3 to 6 hours you get.

Hohokum is a perfect blend of low-impact gameplay, adorable visuals and a great soundtrack. The only downsides are some of the harder puzzles towards the end, but those frustrations are easy to overcome if you give Hohokum the time it deserves.

Unfortunately First Light does not bring inFamous to a higher level, but it is entertaining nonetheless. The story and the characters in the game are not really great, but the gameplay in the new Battle Arena makes up for it. First Light is alright, just not fantastic.

Behind the game’s annoying signup process lies a cute, cuddly and most of all addicting game. But don’t expect to rack up any cool points playing this puzzler. [Aug 2014, p.64]

Bigby Wolf is the perfect protagonist for this shocking Telltale adventure in the Fables universe, because of the convincing way you can mold him into a good or bad wolf. Too bad the game is lacking in the technical and gameplay department. [Aug 2014, p.63]

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition is the best dungeon crawler in recent history. It looks great, it plays smoothly and it’s filled to the brim with content. This is truly the ultimate version of Diablo III. [Aug 2014, p.61]

Calling Sacred 3 a desecration might be a bit harsh but the new direction this series has taken is questionable at best. It’s a decent but overtly simple action RPG. Probably not the sequel Sacred fans were waiting for. [Aug 2014, p.61]

Gameplay wise this might be one of the best JRPGs in years. Too bad the rest of the game is cobbled together with re-used assets, enemies and characters from its predecessor. And the repetitious level grinding doesn’t help either. [Sep 2014, p.59]

If this addition to the series was as much an improvement as part 2 was to the first, then the Risen-series would’ve been well on it’s way to being a serious contender in the RPG-plane.
