The choices I’ve made are sticking with me way more than any scene that HBO has aired.

Telltale has hit another home run with the debut episode of its licensed Game of Thrones series. However, it's not going to be for everyone, as it will only appeal to fans of the franchise and may be too wordy for some.

This first episode is a bit dense, particularly for newcomers, but the attention to detail is meticulous and appreciated.

Its nature as a side-story to the HBO show means we won’t get to decide the fate of Westeros, but this introduction is convincing evidence that the future of House Forrester puts enough at stake to make choices matter.

A strong start to an ambitious series, held up by a series of thrilling interactions with the characters and actors from the TV show. A genuine must for fans. [Issue#120, p.77]

Adapting a prestige cable drama like Game of Thrones is no easy feat and could have easily ended in embarrassment for Telltale Games. Thankfully, they've done a very good job of capturing the show's often depressing essence, setting the stage for an intriguing story to come. With the show's fifth season still four months out, Iron from Ice proves itself a very good appetizer for one of the most popular series on television despite the occasional technical hiccup.

It’s possible all of this is leading someplace interesting, and the final scene shows the kind of spirit and verve missing in the first two hours. But Iron from Ice is a rocky start to a promising story.

It's very interesting and intense at the same time. Your not going to like this game if you are expecting action because it simply is a episode of Game of thrones. The ending is extremely shocking and this is the first episode. I will say i experienced a few animation movement failures but it was hardly noticeable because the story was simply awesome. If your not into Game of Thrones episodes or stories, dont get this game. it's not like walking dead in terms of a relatable story for everyone. Expand

Two things I want to clarify before I start: 1. I played this on the Xbox 360, not Xbox One because I don't own an Xbox One...yet. 2. ITwo things I want to clarify before I start: 1. I played this on the Xbox 360, not Xbox One because I don't own an Xbox One...yet. 2. I haven't seen that much of the television show itself, so this review truly based on just the game itself. As always, TellTale Games delivered an amazing story-telling, decision-making game, just like it's other games like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. Almost every decision that needed to be made was very difficult with what choices are given and only a very short amount of time to make a decision. Whether your decisions were good or failures is honestly up to how the player feels about their decisions. Out of the three playable characters, I found that Ethan's decisions were the hardest to make. If it's this difficult for a man in his late twenties to make the kind of decisions that Ethan needed to make, I can only imagine how it would be for an actual 13 or 14 year old boy. I went on to purchase the season pass and will begin playing episode two shortly. Expand

They are telling the story of House Forrester, with intrigue, drama, blood, and chaos in this first episode. They offer you dialogues, moral dilemmas and decisions, and even Game of Thrones style-specific surprises. While you wait for Game of Thrones TV series new season, Iron From Ice would be a good alternative for original TV series.

TellTale Games has done a very good job of capturing and bringing us Game of Thrones atmosphere. A real interactive episode of the TV series. Must buy game for all Game of Thrones and TellTale Games fans!

But, when TellTale Games have very good storytelling skills, the technical side of the game is in dire need of improvement. The poor details and clunky animations. I think that it is time to change the whole engine.

    + The story is great.
    + Original characters.
+ Authentic world of Game of Thrones.
    + Great ending.

    - Poor and woody graphics.
    - Glitchy animations.
    - There was no game summary. Also you can not see it from TellTale Games website.

This game should be exceptional - TTG is a perfect fit for the source, but this is such a fundamental failure for a game of this type that I have to say that it is unplayable until fixed.

It may be better on other platforms, but do not buy on Xbox One.
