It's slightly dazzling that the best Wii game of 2009 is based on a formula from 25 years ago. However it's used imaginatively and the new multiplayer mode is great fun. The tight controls and challenge of yesteryears are still charming. [Dec 2009]

A great game on another platform. Modern Warfare looses much of its graphical glory on Wii and the point & click shooting style works much better with mouse & keyboard or with Smith & Wesson than what it does with Wiimote & nunchuck. With these deficits the game drops down to a mediocre experience. [Dec 2009]

A well made traditional fantasy RPG, even though the marketing department in Bioware would have you think otherwise. The world is well fleshed out and the story is traditional, but still interesting. The game lacks the truly epic atmosphere and realistic looking actors of Mass Effect, but it still manages to be great fun. Big plus for surprisingly challenging combat, which you don't see that much nowadays. [Nov 2010]

There are some good innovations in PES 2010 like new tactical options. Revamped Master League is also a welcomed addition and finally PES looks good. The main problem is that on the pitch PES 2010 feels all too familiar. Next year we should see a whole new passing system and more convincing duels. [Nov 2010]

Once again extends Rockstar's epic Liberty City saga. Although it's just DLC, it could easily be sold as an separate sequel. Forza Motorsport 3 takes a good game (Forza 2) and makes it even better. There is simply tons of stuff to do, incredible amount of cars to drive and new things to try out. The cars handle very realistically and driving is always fun, even with slower vehicles. The makers really love cars, and the passions shows in every aspect of the game. Doesn’t have an instant appeal to it, but after a while Borderlands can get seriously addictive. It’s really quite impressive when you realize, that you've put 40 hours into a single player fps game! Still, the game could offer a bit more depth with the character builds. Brütal Legend is a game for the metalheads. The imagery and legends of heavy metal have been beautifully crafted into every part of the game world and story, but fun as it is, the game tries to be a bit too many things at once. Arma II is truly excellent military game operating system, but Bohemia really should outsource development of single player content. [July 2009]

Trine integrates physics in to a platformer and the result is beautiful, innovative and fun to play. Unfortunately the storyline is far from original and the slaying of enemy hordes isn't as fun as solving the puzzles. [July 2009]

Good old fashioned western shooter with an excellent story. Too bad you get to spend so little time with the two rough main characters. Coop play would have been nice as the game feels like designed for it. [July 2009]

Shines in flight and physics modeling as well as the actual combat, but AI and especially the campaign engine could use a lot of further development. Whether or not the engine can handle proper campaigns remains to be seen, however. [Apr 2010]

The original board game is brilliant but Cyanide seemed to try everything to poison the idea. Luckily they didn’t succeed. Upgrades have fixed a lot of problems and only the online game system should be redone from the scratch. Online match making feels like it is 1999 again. [Aug 2009]

Party like it's 1999 – and not in a good way! Who cares about the controls if the content is a total wash. The little life Conduit has come’s from the decent multiplayer. [July 2009]

This licensed game indeed has its flaws. The controls are complicated, the open environment doesn’t work and the camera is absolutely horrific. But still the game captures the certain Transformers feel, which is much more important than hiccups in technology. [Aug 2009]

Fallout 3: Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta are Fallout 3's last two expansions and surprisingly from the opposite ends of the quality spectrum. Point Lookout is an enjoyable, well-made and immersive swamp adventure, whereas Mothership Zeta is boring as hell and plays like a crappy FPS. [Aug 2009]
