Using their proprietary Quantum 3 Game Engine technology, the team at High Voltage Software fuses fast and fluid gameplay with an advanced set of visuals intended to squarely establish the Wii as a true next-generation gaming platform. The first-person shooter boasts a competitive online multiplayer component and a thrilling single-player campaign. Advanced graphical features include dynamic environment mapping, interactive water with real-time reflection, and four-stage texture composition including gloss, diffuse, and bump mapping. Featuring terrifying alien creatures, an advanced Artificial Intelligence System, and a rich, conspiracy-laden story, The Conduit has more than a pretty face. The Conduit's control scheme was carefully designed from the ground up with the Wii in mind, as were each of the weapons in the extensive armory, providing gameplay not possible on other platforms. As Secret Service Agent Ford, you must learn to master each of these weapons as well as the special "All Seeing Eye" device to defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and unravel the game's mysteries. 1. The Conduit is a flawed masterpiece: it doesn’t quite live up to the nigh-unreachable hype built up around it, but by breaking so much ground on the Wii it does something more important than meet the hype.

The Conduit is finally a high-end shooter for the Wii. High Voltage Software has really tried to get the maximum out of the console while still offering a wonderful game. Hopefully, more developers will follow this example and we can get more new franchises that achieve a certain level. The Conduit has several things going for it to be called a classic, but it still lacks several things left and right to belong to that category.
  3. A great first-person shooter on the Wii.
  4. If you've only got a Wii, the game's worth a purchase, but if you're a multi-platform owner you can definitely do better in terms of FPS games.
  5. 70
To be blunt, The Conduit is a by the numbers shooter that offers a couple of thrills but ultimately doesn't make much of an impact.
  6. 65
Although it sets a new standard by giving players the ability to change Wii remote sensitivity and button mapping, at the end of the day The Conduit is an average run and gun shooter.
  7. It seems set with doing the bare minimum (a lot of the time, not even that) and expects it to be acceptable just because it’s splashing around in a small pond starved of enough shooters to hold the flag without it.

Do not worry! This game is the greatest! As to why the other reviews were so low? It's because they didn't fully explore the game! Do not worry! This game is the greatest! As to why the other reviews were so low? It's because they didn't fully explore the game! They complained about controls, graphics and short story line! Storyline I do agree on, but its graphics are way beyond amazing for the Wii! The graphical technology is underappreciated in most reviews, because they compare it to a PS3 or 360! About the controls, this FPS offers THE BEST controls! Many reviewers didn't take the time to mess around and tweak their controls or were too lazy looking for their hot spot! I am really disappointed at the reviewers besides IGN.. At least IGN supports what they said unlike the others. Expand

I love shooters and have played thousands of hours or single player and online shooters dating back to Tribes and this was truly one of my favorites. The abilty to customize the controls and to play free online has had me locked on this game for hours since I bought it. Finally a new way to play shooters so that I don't have to buy something that plays just like all the other shooters on consoles. Thank you High Voltage Software, Sega and Nintendo for finally bringing something new and fun to the shooter arena. Expand

I thought the campaign mode was alright and interesting enough to play with, but the online gameplay--decent at best. I give huge props to I thought the campaign mode was alright and interesting enough to play with, but the online gameplay--decent at best. I give huge props to HVS for putting effort into the game, and revolutionizing customizable controls, wii speak support and pretty graphics on a first person shooter--however, I feel like HVS focused TOO MUCH on innovative stuff, and less on overall gameplay. Online mode has a lot of glitches--especially concerning respawn glitches, also the art design of the maps are nothing special.. If anything.. It's just boring, because they're mostly symmetrical for the most part. Also I could have sworn HVS promised a party system--but it never ended up being in the final retail version. Other small things such as not being able to play private matches with yourself to test out maps, like MOH:H2 and WaW Wii really bugged me. Expand
