After almost twenty years, the Trackmania formula remains brilliant. The game is fresh, fun and incredibly addictive, only partially thwarted by the seasonal release of the content.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is a narratively rich role-playing game, with deep and well-drawn characters and stories ranging from epic to tragic, without dwelling too much on stereotypes, an almost physiological element of this genre. Too bad for the absence of the first two chapters in Nintendo Switch's game library. Though exhaustive and rich in detail, in fact, the various summaries in the start screen can not make up for the lack of "playful experience" that only a direct use can return.

West of Dead it's quite a classic twin stick shooter roguelike with a twist: it chooses tactic and thoughtfully action instead of frenzy. The gameplay is quite derivative and basic, though everything works and it's overall a fun game.

Assetto Corsa Competizione for PS4 is a good porting for one of the best driving simulations available right now, that despite a few compromises keeps a racing experience similar to the PC version.

If you know how to go beyond some hesitation in the pace and a video resolution not always up to date, you'll have in your hands a great JRPG.

The Wonderful 101: Remastered is an exciting concentration of fun. The wonderful design, the roaring, noisy sound; everything shines and enchants, just like seven years ago. And yet, despite its solid playability and full of concepts, the camera often struggles to follow the action at its best, becoming a real nightmare in the tightest of spaces (always very short, luckily). The game is difficult to tame, and perhaps that sense of continuous unbalance you feel in controlling the heroes is an integral part of the playful framework. However, there remains a pinch of regret in finding that such smudges have not been filed down.

MotoGP 20 follows the trajectory of last year's chapter in a slavish way, but does practically better every turn and detaches with a decidedly superior skill. Milestone worked continuously and brought the fastest lap home thanks to the finishing of the already excellent artificial intelligence system and the introduction of an additional level of depth in the races.

While not perfect, this remake manages to make a 1995 classic fit for modern standards. Respecting its past, Trials of Mana is a fun and highly replayable action JRPG.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is an extraordinary game: not only as a magnificent reinterpretation of a classic, but also because of the courage instilled in its writing and perfect conception.

The return of Resident Evil 3 manages to maintain the balance between memory and adaptation. Even if the withdrawal of certain characteristic aspects of the original game could disappoint the most avid fans, the care taken in the reconstruction of the atmosphere and of the feeling it is visible an above all, perceivable. Nemesis could have more stage time, of course, but even so its presence hovers in the apocalypse of Raccoon City, and when it finally manifests itself, it is as beautiful as it is distressing.

Yes, Your Grace is a brilliant mix of a "choices and consequences" game and medieval storytelling. It's a small game with a huge heart and it's a joy to play. The crown of Davern is heavy and you can feel the meaning of every choice, even if the structure of the game may be a little bit repetitive. Above all, anyway, Yes, Your Grace is crafted with love, and the sight and the sounds of Grevno Castle will last long in the hearts of the players.

Another good shot for Capcom, and finally we can play the four Mega Man Zero in their best form: we have the most balanced versions ever, for at least twenty beautiful hours. A love letter to the fans and a good opportunity for the other to know a good part of videogames history. Unfortunately the greatest extra of the collection, the Z Chaser, is not good as it looks like at first and its forbidden controls remapping ruins the experience.

Remaining in the culinary sphere, Snake World won't be a chef's bite to eat, but if you're hungry you can tastefully fulfill it.

Luna: The Shadow Dust is a lovely fable dressed up as a classic point and click adventure. The art direction, the visual style and the soundtrack are simply beautiful, while the gameplay mechanics convey in a solid way the path to the consciousness of the main character. The puzzles are gentle and interesting, but sometimes the game plays it too safely and it feels a little bit too light. Anyway, Luna: The Shadow Dust lets the players live a handful of heartwarming hours.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is still a good game, thanks to its unique style and a compelling, slow, fascinating weird-western narration. The charming adventure of the Stranger it's a manifesto of the most ambitious visions of early 2000s and, despite some technical flaws and some naive choices, it's still surprisingly fresh and elegant. The Switch porting could have been slicker and better, because framerate issues and clumsy controls in a remastered in 2020 are not acceptable anymore.

This version of Stories Untold is not the best - you'll miss the feeling of keyboard typing - but these stories are still worth hearing.

Speaking of a video game of such importance, it is difficult to separate the nostalgia effect from the actual quality. While Shenmue III proposes itself exactly as it wanted to be, on the other hand it stumbles into flaws that go far beyond anachronism. The desire to appear in everything as the ideal sequel to a series frozen for eighteen years proves to be a double-edged sword. As much as Shenmue III manages to find internal coherence in its compact rhythm, one cannot overlook the obvious conceptual limits that undermine its overall quality. Yu Suzuki's title does not go beyond the "miracle" of his own existence, and as satisfied as it may be, even for the most dedicated fans it will be impossible not to admit an unpleasant aftertaste of lost opportunity.
