Gran Turismo 7 brings the best experience on track of the series, in an episode who links together the past, the present and the future of the franchise. Despite some minor flaws in terms of AI and collisions, the balance between simulation and accessibility is simply perfect, and DualSense is incredible. In terms of content, career mode shines and let players discover the history of automotive with love and passion, while multiplayer and custom events will let live Gran Turismo 7 for long long time.

A fun take on Conan the Barbarian. Howard purists might do some strange gestures with their noses, but all the other will be having a blast chopping up monsters in Conan Chop Chop.

Elex II is not without its flaws and some of them can sometimes be quite jarring, but underneath them all is a nice action RPG that gets more than a few things right and that can provide many, many hours of entertainment.

Shadow Warrior 3 is a fast, spectacular and over-the-top arena shooter (with bland platforming sections) and, on this front, it works very well. Don't ask for anything more, though.

Elden Ring is an incredible game that takes the "soulslike" formula and declines it within a vast and dense world full of elements arranged with extreme care. It is a demanding experience, which requires the player's focus and a high desire to explore and experiment: it gives the best of itself when the player is ready to explore the huge Lands Between. Its world design has made the structures of the previous soulslike games obsolete. Simply a new milestone for its genre.

A honest JRPG with uninteresting plot, overlong battles and a technical achievement with ups and downs.

GRID Legends goes on the most arcade soul of Codemasters by focusing on quantity and fun. Driven to Glory, the story mode, is quite a disaster and the Career progression is a bit chaotic, but the game has so much content to offer to enjoy. Codemasters achieves to bring thrilling races on the screen and the idea to have the chance to play every single mode in multiplayer is a nice touch to strengthen the experience of a fun and compelling arcade racing game.

Martha is Dead is a complex first-person narrative adventure, a story of traumatic experiences that could upset the sensitivity of those who play. Anyway LKA depicted in a brilliant and compelling way the discomfort of the main character, even if sometimes narration lingers in the spectacularization of the most gory elements. The Italian studio did a great job creating an accurate historical stage, but technically the game has significant ups and dawns, which, anyway, don't undermine too much the overall experience.

Gust and Koei Tecmo return to the Mysterious universe of Atelier, featuring Sophie and Plachta in a new adventure. This additional chapter revisits the old trilogy's mechanics in a new light, fixing the past issues and introducing some new interesting ideas to an already working formula. Presentation is stronger than ever and the new cast, albeit the stereotypical writing, grants some well-paced and relaxing Atelier experience without compromises of sort. This is what the Mysterious trilogy should have been and Gust knows it for sure.

GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon is not up to the level of the exponents from which it is inspired, but it remains a decent diversion for those who want yet another action roguelite.

Total War: Warhammer III is sheer fun. Not a particularly deep game, nor a very innovative one, but a game capable of doing what it's meant to do: to provide an enjoyable framework for spectacular, breathtaking fantasy battles.

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empire is a strategic rather bland, with fights in musou style just passable. The result is still a decent game, though clearly aimed only at fans of the genre.

Horizon Forbidden West expands, improves and deepens all aspects of Horizon Zero Dawn. Guerrilla Games brought to life an incredible open world with fun mechanics, intriguing storytelling and meaningful interactions, despite some technical imperfections.

A good sequel to the historic saga, a robust and fun fighting game, although still with clear room for improvement.

Infernax is in the right place between Ghost 'n Goblins and Castlevania, but it also has its own uniqueness that allows it to stand out. While playing, time flows by without you even noticing.

Ocean's Heart is an excellent tribute to the Zelda era on SNES, but it also knows how to shine with its own light both in the pleasure of exploration and in the narrative tone.

Sifu is an uncompromising and merciless fighting game, but for this very reason it manages to give great satisfaction.

Beyond unquestionable problems such as an unsuitable AI or the need for a technical cleanup, Dying Light 2 is a huge and addictive game that offers lots of different activities: Techland managed to create a sequel that's different in so many ways from its predecessor, but at the same time faithful to the unique gameplay that makes it so special.

OlliOlli World is simply brilliant. It's a hymn to gameplay, joy and the search for the perfect run. Mixing up old school platforming and a very keen skate simulation, Roll7 created a clever, fun and compelling adventure on wheels.

The Waylanders tries to follow on BioWare's footsteps but Gato Studio's game lacks all the qualities that made Dragon Age: Origins stands out.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is a precious remastered of two great adventures, still fun to play and made even more fascinating and immersive by the features and power of PlayStation 5. The collection ideated by Naught Dog is undoubtedly the best way to enjoy Unchharted 4: A Thief’s End and the spin-off Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Pokémon Legends Arceus should have been the next new step for the franchise but it turned out to be a disappointing experience.

As a standalone DLC, Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem lasts the right amount of time and if you love rude and ignorant run & gun shooters, you will also love this hilarious trip to Siberia.

Labyrinth Legend turned out to be a good but not great dungeon crawler. The game has an underlying simplicity that makes it really suitable for anyone but lacks the substance to best complete the work. The sound and the graphic style are above average but they fails to raise the fate of the game, condemned by its repetitiveness especially if not faced in co-op. However, it is not all to be thrown away because the game developed by Shinobi Games is very fun for a short amount of time, but the price is maybe too high for what is has to offer.

A game that coherently turns players into dog paparazzis, keeping them entertained for the whole time.

Windjammers is back and it's pure joy. Provided you only play in multiplayer.

Unoriginal and with boring action sequences, S.W.A.N.: Chernobyl Unexplored is a failed exploration of an otherwise fascinating setting.

Rainbow Six Extraction is a good PvE shooter that works very well when played with friends and offers great gunplay. It is also true that the overall balance is not optimal and the difficulty rate is sometimes too high, but if you are a fan of Rainbow Six: Siege then you will be able to gloss over these negatives.

Expeditions: Rome is the best title in the series yet, with an intriguing storyline that can be partially influenced by players choices and a deeply satisfying combat system in which players can test their tactical prowess.

Nobody Saves the World is a sparkling, crazy and easygoing action-adventure, capable of entertaining for a long time and providing hours of genuine fun.

Pagan: Control gives another glimpse of Far Cry 6 rogulite DLC action. The formula is basically the same as Vaas DLC, with the same strengths and weaknesses. A pretty solid gameplay experience burdened by lack of depth and variety.

Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is another enjoyable metroidvania to add to the collection of fans. If, however, the genre has saturated you, you can safely move on.

A metroidvania mixed with a bit of soulsvania that doesn't know what it wants to be and tries a bit of everything, without really succeeding in any particular aspect.

Decent yet limited - not very "Recharged" - remake of the 1979 arcade classic.

A narrative adventure that succeeds in a truly remarkable feat: inserting good and not repetitive environmental puzzles into the adventure while keeping the experience simple and approachable. A simple but solid game, not too long and not too short, that only fails in not being able to best tell its story. SCARF remains a product that will make you spend 4-5 pleasant hours, and it's enough.

Yu-Gi-Oh! RUSH DUEL: Dawn of Battle Royale !! is a game prisoner of its nature, if you love dueling and you are not afraid to grind matches after matches then it's the game for you, bearing in mind, however, that variety is not at home in the Konami game and that the single player mode offers a very limited challenge and a plot suited to a very young audience. The Rush Duel make their promising debut here, representing an alternative to the main mechanics of Duel Monster, which have become undeniably complicated for a novice to approach. We hope this title can represent a fresh start for Konami, a return to more ambitious video games for the franchise in the future. The potential is there, we hope there's also the desire to make the most of it.

Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is a puzzle-adventure made with great love and passion, entertaining, full of options and with exceptional replayability. A little gem not to be overlooked.

A not-so-exciting scrolling beat-em-up, due to repetitive levels and poorly honed game mechanics. The beautiful graphic setting and local multiplayer raise it from total lack of interest.

Danganronpa S Ultimate Summer Camp is a modest spin-off for fans. While it makes sense as a collection addition, it is far less appealing as a stand-alone purchase.

Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier won't shake-up the battle royale genre but features enough novelties to gather the curiosity of fans and newcomers. While its current shortcomings might be fixed with time and a proper launch on console and PC, the greed of Square Enix is here to stay and some priced content might turn off even the most faithful fan.

Although the awkward performance on PlayStation 5, Beyond a Steel Sky remains a decent third-person graphic adventure that doesn't make big mistakes but that doesn’t even reach particular peaks.

I grew up with Halo, so despite the bad presentation of 2020, I still had hopes that Halo Infinite would be a big comeback for the series, but in all fairness I can't say that it is. Let's be clear: it is a solid and fun game in its fundamental mechanics, also capable of inserting novelties that work (from the open world to the grappleshot) and that I would like to see carried out. At the same time it pays the price of a troubled development, probably a result of the uncertainty with which 343 Industries is handling the series from Halo 4 onwards. A well-defined gameplay, and embellished with some changes that refine the formula a little, is used to carry on a story with a few memorable moments and that still has everything to prove.

Chorus is a space-combat shooter with a good personality, where intense intergalactic dogfights represent the most successful part of the game that is supported by an appreciable artistic direction. It's not perfect but it offers valid reasons to be played, especially by those who love space-themed shooters.

MXGP 2021 is the game you expect it is. A fun, solid and compelling simcade about Motocross World Championship, which just does everything better than the last year edition, without making any meaningful qualitative leap, but with a lot of little tweaks.

Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is a good workout for the mind, captivating enough to entertain; still, it would have deserved more content.

The new Prideful Sloth's game has the same philosophy as its predecessor: peace, relax and nature and wildlife-related activities accompany us for hours in a sandbox that makes micro-management its own core. In the shoes of the last alchemist who can save Alaria we will have to strengthen ourselves by casting out the Withering, cultivating new worlds and building districts, houses and squares to make the city become a place to live again. Despite the presence of interesting mechanics, such as the creation of new worlds and an exploratory component that tries to tie the activities of the game, so much repetition and too many simplifications make it lose some magic after the first dozen hours of gameplay, especially after finding out the multiples technical uncertainties. However, it will surely get sandbox lovers to spend many hours experiencing it.

A fast and addicting mix between a platform game and a brawler, with a very nice aesthetic that reminds me of the '90 computer action game.

A short and interesting interstellar trip that lacks the spark to become truly memorable.

By masterfully evolving a winning formula, adding the Riot touch to that of Madureira, Airship Syndicate proves once more that passion always makes the difference and that, sometimes, it helps to overcome some flaws.

The roguelite experiment is appreciable because it offers a demanding and satisfying challenge. Unfortunately, the lack of general variety and the poor in-depth narrative component are two significant burdens, and they are not the only ones.

The shift of the series to an open world formula is a bit of a missed opportunity, but as a detective adventure Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One works well both in terms of writing and gameplay.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is definitely ... a disappointment. The technical restyling on the three chapters of the saga was half successful but does not pay the right homage to the original trilogy, while the improvements to the gameplay are not enough to make us forget the many bugs and glitches of this unsuccessful collection.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a visually gorgeous game marred by a very bad case of micromanagement excess. Dinosaurs are great, there is a lot of content and the overall idea is very good, but there is just to much busywork being forced upon the player to enjoy the experience fully.

Blue Reflection Second Light achieves what the past episode couldn't: telling an intriguing story with a cast of compelling characters. Its light RPG mechanics leave more space for character development, toning down fan service in favour of a plot that pushes forward reconnecting all the past entries, between videogames and animated series. A sugar coated coming of age story dedicated to anime girls and fans of the "majokko" narrative.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is certainly a good return to World War II by Sledgehammer, especially in terms of multiplayer modes: many maps, customizable weapons with numerous options and a progression system to applause. On the other hand, the single player campaign is just enough, far from being considered epic, while the Zombies mode needs to be expanded as soon as possible.

Voice of Cards makes its particular staging its main highlight. The game remains a good RPG, but if you're numb to its aesthetic appeal, you can safely move on.

Football Manager 2022 is a chapter of consolidation, which capitalizes on last year's revolution. Sports Interactive has worked hard to improve the game engine even more, with brilliant animations and a brand new AI, which has a strong impact on certain game situations, such as pressing and occupying half spaces. The introduction of the Data Hub and small changes to the interface makes Football Manager 2022 the umpteenth excellent chapter of the series, which for the occasion also lands on Xbox Game Pass.

Shin Megami Tensei V is a severe JRPG, at times even a bit 'heavy, but capable of standing out thanks to its flawless integralism in building an extraordinary gameplay.

Forza Horizon 5 is the "best of" all the series entries. Playground Games found the key to present the ginormous amount of content in a smooth way in one of the best open worlds ever made. Mexico is a magical, fascinating and adventurous place to drive in, and the glorious graphics of the game give us the real next gen experience we were looking for.

A nice 2022 iteration with few new features and a very good selection of songs.

A love letter to mecha fans. Unfortunately a complete lack of any semblance of challenge makes it very hard to recommend to anyone but the most die hard of giant robots fan.

Riders Republic is a high-octane ode to joy. An almost perfect extreme sports theme-park open world where having fun is the only thing that matters. Despite a confusing progression and some little hiccups camera and control-wise, Ubisoft Annecy brought in the best part of Steep, The Crew 2 and a bit of punk attitude to create a versatile and compelling experience, even if sometimes a bit too much overwhelming.

An adventure full of twists, with splendid dialogue and all the verve of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Perfect for supergroup fans and a good title to entertain everyone else.

A decent mix of tower defense and puzzle game with an interesting art style and not much originality in terms of gameplay.

Koei Tecmo with Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water, fixes the bare minimum to please the fans, giving us a game far too backward and slow to take root on a new audience.

Mario Party Superstars, with all its limitations, remains an unshakable institution. Revamping the pace of the boards a bit, however, is certainly Nintendo's next priority.

Life is Strange: Wavelenghts is another intimate and delightfully queer chapter of the universe created by Deck Nine Games. Warm and sweet, Steph coming-of-age story, made of records and dies is a welcome missing link between the first Life is Strange and True Colors.

Age of Empires IV won't shake the videogame world as much as its famed predecessors once did, but it's still a quality production from Relic Entertainment and a worthy addition to a legendary series of strategy games.

House of Ashes can be, at times, a rewarding experience; however, the developers, in order to achieve a remarkable result in graphics, have neglected too much the pace and the interaction with the player.

The Caligula Effect 2 has not too much to offer apart from a good combat system and some interesting artistic vibes. The game is a very classic JRPG technically wise far from the modern standards, which suffers from a quite frayed and monotonous rhythm.

KeyWe is a delicious "kiwi-flavored" party game, a cooperative experience for two players that offers lots of fun but also moments of pure chaos.

Most probably the best Super Smash Bros. clone on the market, a competent 4-player brawler with enough content to keep players engaged. To be avoided if you plan to play it for the single-player modes.

The whole Crysis saga can now be played with enhanced visuals, especially on next-gen consoles: while the gameplay is somewhat frozen in time and show the limits of games developed in another era, there’s much to enjoy and the games are still fun to play.

The Good Life is Swery's first take on the Life simulators genre. While it incorporates all the features that made him a cult creator it also shows a disorienting mix of elements and mechanics that just don't work well together. The thin narrative line and the histrionic cast of characters fail to fully flesh out the social commentary that the creator intended to convey. The whole experience ends up feeling more like a list of chores rather than a smart and enjoyable experience in Swery's characteristic Troma-like fashion.

Hell Let Loose is one of the best WWII shooters, certainly not suitable for everyone due to his hardcore gameplay but still rewarding if played with the right collaborative spirit.

An excellent digital version of a very good boardgame. Good for both veterans of the tabletop version (due to new content like the Guildmaster campaign) and newbies willing to try a peculiar fantasy experience (and manage a lot of cards).

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles isn't really a step forward after Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. The new CyberConnect2 game lacks content, and the story mode play and feels old. Even so, the combat system shines thanks to some minor tweaks and adjustments, and the PvP is as fun as it should be. Sadly, you have to endure a pretty bad six hours campaign before you are finally allowed to participate in some downright spectacular battles with the full roster of characters.

Back 4 Blood continues the tradition of PvE shooters started by Turtle Rock Studios with Left 4 Dead, but offering a better gameplay dynamics and a fun campaign to play online with three other players.

An interesting mix of different mechanics that quickly becomes somehow boring in its micro-management antics.

WRC 10 is a melancholic better version of WRC 9, with some peculiar and welcome refinements to the physics and handling. Apart from that WRC 10 is a rock solid rally driving experience with some technical hiccups and an interesting, but somehow shallow, scenario mode.

Yet another masterpiece by Kan Gao, probably the most solid and balanced overall. The story of Quincy and Lynri passes through regrets, remorse, fears and IF. Gao's writing is always impeccable and is capable of never falling into the banal, even when it touches themes already abused in the medium and in narration in general. So far my very personal best game of the year.

Clearly a clone of Pokémon, albeit a very well done one. With a large world to discover and hundreds of Nexomon to catch there's plenty to play if your monster breeding thirst is not yet placated.

An excellent return for Samus Aran and the Metroid series. The novelties don't work perfectly, but they are interesting nonetheless.

Far Cry 6 is a huge game, full of content and activities, stories to live and places to discover. Joining the revolution is not a flawless journey, but still an exciting one. If you loved the previous game, then it is worthwhile to start packing the most capacious bags you have and reach Yara!

Gamedec is very much focused on its setting, story and investigation-based gameplay, which are for the most part properly executed.

JETT - The Far Shore is an adventure that, at its best, conveys a sense of absolute freedom to the player in the exploration of an alien planet. The setting is full of ideas ... and it is a pity that many of these are not fully developed during the story. From a stylistic point of view, the contrast between the minimal graphic style and the orchestral soundtrack is excellent and gives a unique character to the work.

Alan Wake: Remastered, although a bit didactic in the narrative and frayed in the gameplay, is still an entertaining video game full of charm.

Insurgency: Sandstorm hits the mark on consoles as well, proving to be a tactical shooter that's not easy to master but extremely rewarding for those who love its hardcore gameplay and slow, reasoned firefights.

The longevity is not the cup of tea of this game, but for at least a couple of hours Severed Steel manages to offer something new and exciting in today's FPS landscape.

A Collection that includes some of the most representative and entertaining 2D episodes of the entire saga. Let's hope that Konami will soon put in the hands of M2 the chapters for Nintendo DS.

A lovely game with even lovelier four-legged protagonists. A simple game, but also a very fun one.

Aside from the graphics, Diablo II hasn't really changed all that much since its debut in 2000, but Blizzard classic ARPG has aged gracefully and is still a deeply engaging and fun experience.

Several times, while playing In Sound Mind, I wondered what it would have been if the same game had a higher production caliber. We Create Stuff's work has so much personality and so many beautiful ideas, and offers to the player an intelligent and fun experience. Too bad for the technical shortcomings, which cripple him in terms of fluidity and visual impact, making it a little less pleasant to go through the nightmares that unfold from Dr. Wales's recordings.

A tavern full of toy cars to have fun with thanks to a fun and clean arcade driving model.

Astria Ascending tries to convey the "feel-good" atmosphere of the classic JRPGs with an aesthetically pleasing art direction and promises of pure turn-based combat extravaganza. Unfortunately, its ambition falls flat due to forgettable writing and an unbalanced combat system.

FIFA 22 is the most interesting and deep entry in the series from years to date, thanks to its new physics, AI and level of details. FIFA 22 gives players a game finally balanced, where defenders have the same power of attackers. The spectacular and televised identity of the franchise, though, is always the same, but this comes as a silent revolution which, if not muted after a couple of match in the name of metagame and pro gaming, it could be a great start for the future.
